Opis:
Two-photon spectroscopy has expanded the scope of studies of excited states of ions and has also enabled the examination of the validity of conventional theories. In this study, the direct theoretical calculation of the two-photon intraconfigurational crystal field transitions of $\text{}^{7}$F$\text{}_{6}$(Γ$\text{}_{1g}$) → $\text{}^{5}$D$\text{}_{4}$ of Tb$\text{}^{3+}$ in Cs$\text{}_{2}$NaTbCl$\text{}_{6}$ has been performed, based on third-order perturbation theory including electric dipoles and spin-orbit coupling. The core 4f$\text{}^{7}$ ($\text{}^{8}$S $\text{}_{7}\text{}_{/}\text{}_{2}$ Γ$\text{}_{6}$, Γ$\text{}_{7}$, Γ$\text{}_{8}$) and 4f$\text{}^{7}$($\text{}^{6}$P $\text{}_{7}\text{}_{/}\text{}_{2}$ Γ$\text{}_{6}$, Γ$\text{}_{7}$, Γ$\text{}_{8}$) states coupled with 5d(Γ$\text{}_{3}$, Γ$\text{}_{5}$) are taken as the intermediate states. The calculated transition intensity ratios are in good agreement with the experimental results. In particular the two-photon transition $\text{}^{7}$F$\text{}_{6}$(Γ$\text{}_{1g}$) → ( Γ$\text{}_{1g}$)$\text{}^{5}$D$\text{}_{4}$ is allowed in third-order perturbation instead of the proposed fourth-order process by Ceulemans et al. using the Judd-Pooler-Downer model. The inconsistency between the two studies arises from the failure of application of the Judd-Ofelt closure approximation. The closure approximation does not only simplify the two-photon calculation but also sacrifices the physical accuracy by changing the selection rule of the two-photon transition from that of two electric dipole transitions to that of one electric quadrupole transition.

The results of the investigation of magnetic susceptibility, magnetization and specific heat of $Cu_3(tmen)_3(tma)_2(H_2O)_2$ · $6.5H_2O$ (tmen = N,N,N',N'-tetramethylethane-1,2 diamine; $H_3$ tma = 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylic acid) are reported. The spatial arrangement of magnetic Cu(II) ions and network of covalent bonds suggest that the studied material might be a representative of S = 1/2 sawtooth chain with moderate exchange coupling J/$k_{B}$. The investigation of the temperature dependence of susceptibility and magnetic field dependence of magnetization yielding J/$k_{B}$ ≈ - 0.63 K is consistent with the structural features. In addition, specific heat data reveal short-range correlations in milikelvin temperature range and indicate long-range ordering below 150 mK.

Opis:
Omówiono wybrane, mające właściwości wybuchowe lub będące potencjalnie związkami energetycznymi, produkty reakcji w których 2,4,6-trinitrotoluen jest substratem. Opisano między innymi: trinitrobenzen, cyjanotrinitrobenzen, trinitroksylen, amino-trinitrotolueny, trinitro-nitrometylo-benzen, metylenobis(2,4,6-trinitrobenzen), heksanitrostilben, nitro-metylo-difenyloaminy, 4,4’,6,6’-tetranitro2,2’-azoksytoluen oraz pochodne 2,4,6-trinitrobenzylidenoaminy. Dla każdego opisanego związku przedstawiono ścieżkę syntezy oraz dla wybranych materiałów podano parametry detonacyjne.
The review concentrates on some energetic compounds or compounds with potentially energetic properties which can be obtained as products of reactions with 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene. Synthesis and main properties were presented for: trinitrobenzene, cyanotrinitrobenzene, trinitroxylene, aminotrinitrotoluenes, trinitro-nitromethyl-benzene, methylenebis(2,4,6-trinitrobenzene), hexanitrostilbene, nitro-methyl-diphenylamines, 4,4’,6,6’-tetranitro-2,2’-azoxytoluene and 2,4,6-trinitrobenzylideneamine derivatives. For each described compound the synthesis path was described and for selected compounds detonation parameters were presented.

Artykuł przedstawia model 2,5D silnika indukcyjnego ze skosem w wirniku. Model silnika bazuje na silniku 6-biegunowym 55kW oraz 8-biegunowym 45kW o tym samym magnetowodzie. Zbadano wpływ liczby żłobków wirnika oraz liczby części modelu 2,5D silnika na tętnienia momentu oraz rozkład indukcji magnetycznej w szczelinie powietrznej.
The papers deals with 2.5D induction motor model with skewed rotor. The model is based on two different IM with the same magnetic core: 55kW 2p=6 and 45kW 2p=8. Influence of the number of rotor slots and the number of slices on the torque ripple and magnetic field distribution in the air gap was considered.

Opis:
A new time interval/frequency generator with a jitter below 5 ps is described. The time interval generation mechanism is based on a phase shifting method with the use of a precise DDS synthesizer. The output pulses are produced in a Spartan-6 FPGA device, manufactured by Xilinx in 45 nm CMOS technology. Thorough tests of the phase shifting in a selected synthesizer are performed. The time interval resolution as low as 0.3 ps is achieved. However, the final resolution is limited to 500 ps to maximize precision. The designed device can be used as a source of high precision reference time intervals or a highly stable square wave signal of frequency up to 50 MHz.

Opis:
Several silver nitrate and perchlorate salts with 5-aminotetrazole-based ligands have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, mass spectrometry, IR, Raman and multinuclear NMR spectroscopy. In addition, several of the new compounds were characterized by X-ray structure analysis. The energetic properties of the materials were assessed by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) analysis in combination with standard impact and friction BAM tests. The compounds synthesized have good thermal stabilities above 225 C and in some instances the high sensitivities of the materials towards impact and friction make them fall under the category of primary explosives. Some of the compounds might present prospective use in initiation devices for civil and military applications.

Opis:
5-Hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) was determined with HPLC method in forty one food samples, including gluten-free, breakfast cereals and bakery products. The highest concentration of HMF was found in wheat bread with cranberries (210 mg kg-1) and in breakfast cereals – honey wheat loops (85.099 mg kg-1). In contrast, wholegrain oatmeal and gluten-free sponge cakes had the lowest HMF level of all tested samples, below the detection limit and 0.485 mg kg-1, respectively. In most cases, lack of gluten coincided with the lowest HMF content readings (average 8.488 mg kg-1). The impact of the type of sugar, especially glucose, on the HMF concentration in food is apparent. Sweetened breakfast cereals, with the average content of HMF at 25.55 mg kg-1, took lead over dietary products (8.488 mg kg-1) and bakery products (18.395 mg kg-1), with the exception for wheat bread with cranberries. These cereals contained glucose or glucose-fructose syrup.
