Opis:
A digital implementation of the Fourier holography scheme with identical reference and signal beams is considered. Investigations of the properties of this scheme were reported on in a number of papers. At the same time a concept of virtual optics is widely used in data encryption and data processing, whereas digital implementation of the Fourier holography scheme may be provided using not only discrete Fourier transform. Another discrete digital transform may be used as soon as it has several properties similar to the Fourier transform. The Walsh transform is the subject to consider in this work. A comparison of digital Fourier and Walsh versions of the named holographic scheme is conducted by means of their associative properties. Considered is the retrieving of information stored in the hologram using parts of different amounts of the original data. Comparison is provided with the two types of data stored: a raster image representing visual information and an image representing a set of data bits. Comparable parameters are the mean image contrast for visual data image and the bit detection accuracy for a set of data bits.

Opis:
This is an analysis of the epigram On the Old Man (II.42), Jan Kochanowski's single epigram (fraszka) on a medical theme. The old man of the title suffers from priapism, i.e. an abnormal persistent erection. Part I of the article discusses the significance of the poem's place in the sequence of epigrams that make up the collection and its intertextual links to earlier literature referring to the phallic god Priapus, especially Martial's Epigrams. In Part II it is argued that Kochanowski's understanding of priapism and its underlying causes was based on humoral medicine and detailed descriptions of this condition in Renaissance (primarily Italian) medical manuals. An analysis of the poem from the medical perspective leads to the conclusion that Kochanowski's bawdy conceit contains a misrepresentation: what for humoral medicine was a possible anomaly (priapism in old men) became a well-documented condition.

Opis:
Oxyhalides of bismuth BiOX (X = Cl, Br, I) are very interesting materials which find various applications as X-ray luminescent screens, as anti-Stokes converters, photocatalyst, usual luminophors and as photoconductive analyzer of linear polarized radiation in the 0.24 - 1.2 μm spectral region. The great interest for these materials is strongly related to the influence of dimensionality on the behaviour of physical properties (they are 2D structured materials). Bismuth oxyhalides are one of the V-VI-VII group compound semiconductors belonging to the tetragonal system. The structure of BiOX is known to have a layered structure, which is constructed by the combination of the halide ion layer and the bismuth oxygen layer. We present results of the study of photoconductivity spectra anisotropy of the BiOX single crystals.

Opis:
Temporal and spatial distribution of temperature field was studied in operating acousto-optic devices on base of large-size paratellurite crystals. The study was carried out in real time by means of thermal imaging technique. Dynamics of heat release in a hot deflector and a hot tunable filter was examined at different frequencies and driving electric power levels applied to piezoelectric transducers. The study was also based on measurements of standing wave ratio and analysis of the Smith charts.

Opis:
Calcium fluoride crystals doped with various concentrations of $PbF_{2}$ have been grown using the Bridgman technique. The optical absorption spectra reveal the characteristic UV absorption bands of the $Pb^{2+}$ ions. The distribution of the $Pb^{2+}$-ions along four crystals has been investigated using the optical absorption method. Taking into account the relationship between the optical absorption coefficient and the concentration of the impurities in the samples, the effective segregation coefficient of the $Pb^{2+}$ ions has been calculated. Our study shows that the effective segregation coefficient of the $Pb^{2+}$ ions in $CaF_{2}$ host depends on the dopant concentration, and varies between 0.85 and 1.15, for 0.5 mol%$PbF_{2}$ and 3 mol%$PbF_{2}$-doped $CaF_{2}$, respectively.

Semiconducting ferroelectric antimony sulfoiodide (SbSI) photonic crystals were fabricated. The $SiO_{2}$ nanospheres were synthesized and gravity sedimented to obtain opal matrices. These opals were infiltrated with melted SbSI and etched in HF acid to produce inverted SbSI opals.

Photonic crystal structures are fabricated in dichromated pullulan by the holographic technique. Relief structures of photonic lattices with rectangular, rhombic, and hexagonal arrays of peaks and holes are obtained. The structures have periodicities of the order 1.1μm and depth of about 50 nm.

Opis:
Polymerization contraction of dental photo-polymer composites induces internal stress, in a tooth cavity. This stress is measured indirectly by, first, holographic determination of tooth deformation, with consequent calculation of stress using finite element method. Real time holographic technique enabled observation of dental deformation in all stages of polymerization. Specially constructed blue-LED light source was used to polymerize photopolymer composite. We have found that polymerization continues even after illumination is over. Consequently, stress is increased, too.

We show that bistability and metastability of In and Ga impurities in CdF$\text{}_{2}$ crystals can be efficiently used in writing volume holographic gratings. Phototransformation of these impurities from the localized to the hydrogenic state leads to a large change of the local polarizability of the host, and thus a significant change of the refractive index. While CdF2:In can be used only at low temperatures (below 150 K), CdF2:Ga crystals are suitable for room temperature recording.

Opis:
Extreme ultraviolet (EUV) covers wavelength range from about 5 nm to 50 nm. That is why EUV is especially applicable for imaging and patterning on nanometer scale length. In the paper periodic nanopatterning realized by interference lithography and high resolution holographic nanoimaging performed in a Gabor in-line scheme are presented. In the experiments a compact table top EUV laser was used. Preliminary studies on using a laser plasma EUV source for nanoimaging are presented as well.

PbWO₄ crystal-Hamamatsu S8148 avalanche photodiode (APD) assembly has been used in the barrel section of the CMS electromagnetic calorimeter. The shot noise of the photodiode is one of the important parameters for the energy resolution of the crystal-APD system. The major source of this noise is the statistical variations in the rate at which primary charge carriers are generated and recombine. Thus, the shot noise varies with position of the primary charge carriers generated in photodiode. In this work, the shot noise properties of the Hamamatsu S8148 APD structure and zinc sulfide-silicon (ZnS-Si) isotype heterojunction APD structure have been compared for the PbWO₄ photons. Calculations were made with a Single Particle Monte Carlo simulation technique.

Na te potrzeby wyjaśnione zostały podstawowe zasady odpowiedzialności karnej skarbowej, kluczowe na gruncie przywołanej ustawy pojęcie „podatku”, a także charakter prawny opłaty paliwowej
This study is addressed to the issue of possible fiscal penal liability for failure to pay the fuel fee. The aim of the article is to answer the question whether the fuel fee is criminalized under the fiscal penal code? In this regard, the basic principles of fiscal penal liability, the key concept of „tax” under the Fiscal Penal Code, as well as the legal nature of the fuel fee have been explained.

The article presents the experimental results of the investigation of the absorption spectra and nonlinear refraction of the metal-dielectric nanocomposite that contains the lithium niobate pyroelectric crystal coated with the silver nanofilms on its surface. The atomic force microscopy surface research of these crystals with and without films are also provided. The nanowidth silver films impact on optical spectra and nonlinear refraction of LiNbO₃-Ag nanocomposite was analyzed depending on the sign of the side charge of the crystal, that contain nanofilms.

Opis:
This paper gives a review of semiconductor materials that are used to fabricate ultrafast photoswitches. The optoelectrical response of the switches is first described with simple models, from which the material requirements are deduced. The basic principles of the required material properties - ultrashort free carrier lifetime and high mobility, high dark resistivity, and high field breakdown - are explained. Then, the most popular ultrafast semiconductors are listed, together with their characteristics. A special emphasis is put on low-temperature grown GaAs. Finally, two applications of these ultrafast materials are presented, namely antennae for terahertz radiation and all-optical nonlinear devices.
