Celem niniejszego artykułu jest przedstawienie 45-letniej historii łęczyckiego oddziału Towarzystwa Naukowego Płockiego (TNP OŁ). Podstawowym źródłem do historii TNP OŁ są protokoły posiedzeń Oddziału Towarzystwa Naukowego Płockiego w Łęczycy, znajdujące się w Archiwum TNP OŁ oraz rękopiśmienne sprawozdania z działalności oddziału w latach 2014–2021, a także wydawane drukiem sprawozdania z działalności TNP w danym roku.
The aim of this article is to present the 45-year history of activity the Płock Scientific Society department in Łęczyca. The basic source of knowledge about the history of the TNP OŁ are the minutes of the meetings located in the Archives of TNP OŁ and handwritten reports on the activities of the department in 2014–2021 as well as printed reports on activities in specific years.

Opis:
A comparison of studies on the distribution and breeding efficiency of the White Stork in the Łęczyca District in 1968-1970, 1975 and 1984 is presented. In the analysed period, there occurred a significant increase in the abundance of nests not occupied by pairs (HO + HB) and in nests built on the poles of electric traction. The spatial distribution of stork nests is described. Besides, the author proves the limiting influence of interspecific com petition on the breeding success of the stork in the distinguished groupings of nests.

In the years 2020–2021, Łódź and other surrounding cities will celebrate the 200th anniversary of the decisions made by the authorities of the Kingdom of Poland, aimed at the industrialization of this part of Polish territory. Some of these urban centers, such as Lodz, have been successful, while most of them have not been able to develop industrially. Witold Kula, an excellent researcher of socio-economic history, wrote about these issues. So far this work has not been published and thanks to the help of prof. Marcin Kula, the author’s son, was published in a journal. Kula decided to analyze the economic and social condition of the cities located within the Łódźand Łęczyca poviats (according to the administrative status of 1921). Therefore, he was interested in the area subjected to industrialization and protection policy by the authorities of the Kingdom of Poland under the Act of Governor Józef Zajączek of 1820. The author was looking for an answer to the fundamental question which of the cities located in this area were also in the legal sense and in economic terms, and which and from an economic point of view, they did not differ from the status of a village? The conclusions and reflections contained in the work cover a long chronological period, starting from 1807 and ending with 1869, i.e. from the moment of placing Polish cities under the administration of a modern bureaucratic national magistracy, to the year in which the tsarist decree was issued to rename some settlements. cities in the governorates of the Kingdom of Poland. The subject of this work were 13 cities, namely: Grabów, Kazimierz (Łęczycki), Łęczyca, Łódź, Parzęczew, Piątek, Rzgów, Tuszyn and Zgierz, and the cities elevated to the rank of cities during the Congress Kingdom: Ozorków (1816), Aleksandrów and Poddębice (1822), Konstantynów (1830). After the reform of 1869–1870, only four of them remained towns: Łęczyca, Łódź, Ozorków and Zgierz. In implementing the theme, W. Kula assumed the following stages: “1. Overview of the basic and existing definitions of the term «city»; 2. on this basis, determining the basic economic and demographic characteristics of the city, and thus the qualification criteria of the city; 3. establishing the facts corresponding to the successful qualification criteria in individual cities in a particular period of time”. The author did not intend to issue “a firm sentence on each of the examined cities, granting or denying it the right to the” title “of the city in the economic sense. More important for him was to “establish the actual state of affairs corresponding to individual criteria, the state which, using these criteria, will sometimes lead us to various conclusions”. The work of W. Kula was based on a variety of source material, primarily the resources of the then pre-war archives, which were partially lost as a result of the tragic consequences of the Second World War. Hence, this monograph is also extremely important because it provides contemporary researchers with invaluable source material for further analyzes of the history of the cities of the Łódź region. More than a hundred tables included in the work by W. Kula with various and valuable statistical data will help in this. The monograph published in print consists of an extensive part called Introduction, divided into two chapters, the first of which is entitled Issue, and the second - Sources and studies, and two parts. The first part is entitled The economic content of the term “city” and is also divided into the following two chapters: Existing definitions of the term “city” and Eligibility criteria for urban settlements. On the other hand, the second, entitled Socio-economic character of cities in the Łęczyca and Łódź poviats, is the main part of the monograph with a source analysis of 13 cities and towns under consideration. It opens with Introductory remarks, followed by an alphabetical list of the aforementioned urban centers in terms of economic and social aspects in the following 13 sections. The work is supplemented by a bibliographic list and a list of abbreviations. The editors of the journal made only minor interference in the work by correcting typos and the so-called Czech errors, as well as by modernizing the spelling and the scientific apparatus of the monograph (in the notation of footnotes and bibliographic items), e.g. by supplementing some items, introducing currently used abbreviations, etc. Moreover, the bibliographic list that opened the work in the manuscript was moved to its end. However, no linguistic and stylistic corrections were made to reflect the character of the writing style and the way of expressing thoughts as accurately as possible by W. Kula, then a young adept of the historical guild.

Bitwa Łódzka była jednąz największych operacji wojskowych I wojny światowej na froncie wschodnim. W listopadzie 1914 roku Paul von Hindenburg rozkazał uderzyć 9 Armii niemieckiej na 1 i 2 Armię rosyjską. Plan operacji opracował Erich Ludendorff. Obie strony zaangażowały około 800 tysięcy żołnierzy. Od 14 do 23 listopada 1914 roku trwały zacięte walki na terenie Ziemi Łęczyckiej, które były częścią Bitwy Łódzkiej. Nie są znane dokładne straty walczących armii. W 1915 roku niemiecka administracja okupacyjna zorganizowała w Ziemi Łęczyckiej cmentarze wojenne dla poległych żołnierzy armii niemieckiej i rosyjskiej. Największy cmentarz wojskowy ulokowano na obszarze cmentarza rzymskokatolickiego w Łęczycy - obecnie znajdują się tu groby 233 żołnierzy niemieckich i 50 rosyjskich. Istnieją także do dzisiaj pozostałości grobów wojennych na cmentarzu ewangelickim w Łęczycy, gdzie spoczywa 18 żołnierzy niemieckich, oraz w Siedlcu i w Tumie.

Dans les voievodies de Łęczyca et de Sieradz et en teirre de Wieluń les soldats pillaient au XVIIème siècle les moyens de production, ainsi que les objets personnels des paysans, des bourgeois et des nobles. Etant remarquablement é loigné du théâtre des opérations de guerre, le terrain présenté se trouvait à l'état de moindre dévastation, que les autres terres de la République, exception faite pour la guerre dans les années 1626—1629 et le milieu du XVIIème siècle. Les pillages commis par les soldats eurent pour conséquence: évasions (des paysans, plusieurs lieux inhabités, diminution des récoltes, appauvrissement des paysans, détérioration de la technique des cultures des céréales et de l’état des bâtiments, chute de l'artisanat dans les villes et les villages. Ils étaient insupportables pendant une courte période; après les pillages vint le temps de reconstruction et de réparation des pertes. Les résultats dąs pillages furent plus durables dans l'économie, où ils favorisèrent l'approfodissement des tendances désavantageuses. Les symptômes qui y apparurent démontrèrent la régression économique dans la première moitié du XVIIème siècle.

The town of Łęczyca has a substantial potential for development, however launching of a large-scale investment activity lies beyond the financial capacity of the local authorities. Thus, the local authorities are forced to look for capital from the external sources and protect its interests by means of, for example, preferential shares. The most crucial objective at the moment is to restore to Łęczyca the status of the economic and institutional centre of the Łęczyca district. To this purpose it is first and foremost necessary to use all the local assets and economic potential. It is essential for the local authorities to create the local market whose development should be a driving force for the economy of Łęczyca.

In this paper a preliminary list and characterization of the synanthropic flora found in the area of the Łęczyca in 1998-2000, have been presented. The rich variety of the synanthropic flora of this town is an effect of differentiation of habitats and man’s economic activity. The synanthropic flora of Łęczyca consists of 551 taxons. Among synanthropic plants predominate perenial plants (56,8%) and apophytes (59,9%). There ars 31 species from the list of threatened synanthropic plants and 8 species from the list of protected plants.

Opis:
The fear of suspect’s fleeing and hiding has been the basis of proper detention for several decades. Nevertheless, it is not interpreted uniformly. The fulfillment of the commented base raises doubts if a person moves away from his own driveway towards the house, closes himself in the house and moves inside it, avoiding contact with policemen. Moreover, the jurisprudence ignores the problem of the insufficient basis for the application of direct coercion for the purposes of conducting a trial detention.
Obawa ucieczki i ukrycia się od kilku dekad stanowi podstawę zatrzymania właściwego. Mimo to nie jest interpretowana w sposób jednolity. Wątpliwości budzi spełnienie komentowanej podstawy, jeżeli osoba oddala się z własnego podjazdu w stronę domu, zamyka się w domu oraz przemieszcza się w jego wnętrzu, unikając kontaktu z policjantami. Ponadto w orzecznictwie pomija się problem niewystarczającej podstawy stosowania przymusu bezpośredniego na potrzeby przeprowadzenia czynności zatrzymania procesowego.
