Opis:
The funeral epigraphic material of Elbląg and the surrounding area, relating to the period preceding the XVIth century, remains, first of all thanks to the researches of Polish epigraphists, relatively more explored and introduced into the scientific circulation array. At the same time the Renaissance-Baroque gravestone monument of the XVIth–XVIIth centuries, which is extremely important for the comprehensive study of the reformed Circum-Baltic, often continues to need a detailed research commentary. To the epitaph of the burgomaster of Elbing (Elbląg) Johann Jungschultz (1583–1630), as well as to the Latin text of the funeral Eulogy, associated with this epitaph, composed by the Bohemian humanist Venceslav Klemens, is expected to address in this article. The epitaph of Johann Jungschultz was established in 1630–1640. From the compositional point of view closest to the epitaph of Johann Jungschultz, and almost prototypical for it, is the epitaph of Edward Blemke (1591), in the St. Mary’s church of Gdansk. It allows to speak about the author of the epitaph of Johann Jungschultz as oriented to samples of the Dutch monumental tombstones of the end of the XVIth century, or even as belonging to the circle of Willem van den Blocke (circa 1550–1628), which was the principal mediator of the influence of the Dutch art in the South-Eastern Baltic in the end of XVIth – the first quarter of the XVIIth century. The compositional and decorative solution of the epitaph also has close matches in the works of Johann Pfister (1573 – circa 1642/1645 or 1648).

The basis for these considerations were the results of excavations carried out in Kunowo, Stargard district, site 4, where a biritual burial ground and a related settlement of the Gustow group population dated to the early Roman influence period was unearthed.

Artykuł poświęcony jest rozprzestrzenieniu się reformacji w XVI wieku na terenach Pomorza Zachodniego, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem jej wpływu na ludność zamieszkującą te ziemie. Zobrazowano wpływ reformacji na kulturę umysłową i rozwój szkolnictwa w większych miasta Pomorza Zachodniego, czyli Szczecinie, Koszalinie czy Słupsku. Artykuł stanowi zarys problematyki związanej z ruchem religijnym na Pomorzu w XVI wieku.
The article concerns the spread of the Reformation in the 16th century in West Pomerania, with a special consideration for its influence on the populace. It illustrates the influence of the Reformation on the industrial culture and the development of education in the greater cities of West Pomerania, i.e. Szczecin, Koszalin or Słupsk. The article constitutes for an outline of the issues related to the religious movement in 16th century Pomerania.

Opis:
The role of Toruń and Pomerania during the period of state inter-vention between 1936 –1939 according to journalistic sources Incorporating Toruń into the revived Polish State in 1920 commenced a new period in the development of the city. Toruń became the capital of the newly created Pomeranian district, which resulted in the fact that provincial dignitaries started to raise the importance of the city. Many offices based themselves in Toruń, which led to the thorough development of the town. In the second half of the 1930s, Toruń and the whole of Pomerania had to deal with the policy of state intervention run by the vice prime minister and the minister of finance – Eugeniusz Kwiatkowski. The province, whose head at that time was the voivode Władysław Raczkiewicz, was experiencing some serious problems. Nevertheless, Toruń and Gdynia managed to cope with the difficulties. The authorities of the province tried to counteract the negative effects of the policy of intervention creating the so called „Pomeranian Pro-gramme” the aim of which was to strengthen the region politically and eco-nomically. The realization of the programme, which included the extension of the province’s boundaries, exacerbated the conflict between the capital city of Toruń and Bydgoszcz which was to be incorporated into the Pomeranian dis-trict having lost the struggle to become the capital of the extended region. Having won this accolade, Toruń developed more intensively by constructing new buildings and creating a modern land development plan called „The Pro-gramme of Tłoczek”.
Die Rolle von Thorn und Pommern in der Zeit des staatlichen Eingriffes 1936 –1939 im Lichte des Journalismus Thorns Anschluss an den „wiedergeborenen polnischen Staatˮ im Jahr 1920 markierte den Beginn einer neuen Phase der Entwicklung der Stadt. Thorn wurde dann die Hauptstadt der neu gegründeten Provinz Pommern, mit dem Ergebnis, dass hier Gouverneure zu wohnen begannen, die schrittweise versuchten, den Rang der Stadt zu erhöhen. Auch viele Ämter fanden hier ihren Sitz, was zu allseitiger Entwicklung von Thorn führte. In der zweiten Hälfte der dreißiger Jahre des zwanzigsten Jahrhunderts musste Thorn und die 101 gesamte Provinz von Pommern, der Politik des staatlichen Eingriffes, die von dem damaligen stellvertretenden Ministerpräsidenten und Minister des Schatzamtes Eugeniusz Kwiatkowski gefördert wurde, trotzen. Die Provinz, die durch den Gouverneur Wladyslaw Raczkiewicz geleitet wurde, hatte große Schwierigkeiten, die aber Thorn und Danzig, die perfekt mit den Schwierig-keiten fertig wurden, nicht betrafen. Die Behörden der Provinz haben ver-sucht, den negativen Auswirkungen des politischen Eingriffs entgegenzuwir-ken, wodurch ein „Entwurf Pommernˮ entwickelt wurde, um die Region poli-tisch und wirtschaftlich zu stärken. Die Umsetzung des Entwurfs, die unter anderem die Erweiterung der Grenzen der Provinz voraussetzte und auch den Konflikt zwischen dem hauptstädtischen Thorn und Bromberg das in die Grenzen der Provinz einbezogen werden sollte, entfacht, das jedoch den Kampf um den Titel der Hauptstadt der vergrößerten Provinz verloren hat. Dank dem Sieg in diesem Wettbewerb hat sich Thorn noch mehr, durch den Bau neuer Gebäude und der Schaffung eines modernen Verwaltungssystems namens „Tłoczeks Programmˮ, entwickelt.
