Opis:
We calculate with the variational technique the fine structure of a biexciton in wurtzite crystals with the effective electron-hole exchange interaction taken into account. The values of the electron-hole exchange integrals are taken from the free exciton Γ$\text{}_{5}$-Γ$\text{}_{6}$ splitting. We calculate the biexciton dissociation energy and the ratio of mixing of the symmetric and antisymmetric envelopes which arises from the electron-hole exchange interaction. Results are presented for CdS, CdSe and ZnS crystals.

Opis:
Contact resistance of coupled electrodes, in particular the ones used in high current switches, is a fundamental parameter in determining their rated current (continuous operation) and limit theirs short-circuit current (above which contacts are welded). The paper presents the simulation results of the transition resistance of selected types of contacts calculated with different mathematical models, and assess the extent of their compliance with the results of real objects.

Opis:
The probability of direct excitation of excitonic molecule in the two-photon absorption process is calculated with an Hylleraas-Ore type biexciton envelope, which is variationally optimized. In the second order of perturbation, because of the resonance effect, only the exciton Γ$\text{}_{5}$ intermediate state is taken into account. The band structure at band extrema due to spin-orbit interaction is assumed. The transition probability of two-photon absorption is expressed by matrix element between the free exciton and the biexciton envelopes. The obtained probability of two-photon absorption in CuCl is about three orders of magnitude smaller when compared to that obtained by Hanamura.

Organizacje pozarządowe odgrywają podobną rolę w całej Europie. Mają one sprawić, że ludziom będzie się żyło lepiej. Warunki prawne ich funkcjonowania w poszczególnych krajach, ze względu na rozwój historyczny i sytuację społeczno-gospodarczą, są jednak zupełnie inne. W niniejszym artykule autor prezentuje formy działalności organizacji pozarządowych w krajach europejskich oraz procesy, dzięki którym ewoluowały europejskie modele organizacyjne.  
Non-governmental organizations have similar roles throughout Europe. They are meant to make people live better. However, the legal conditions in individual countries, due to their historical background and the socio-economic situation, are quite different. In this paper, the author shows the forms of activities of non-governmental organizations in European countries and the processes that took place there, and thanks to which European organizational models have evolved.

Theoretical analysis is preformed concerning temperature rise of electrical contacts exposed to short-circuit current. This temperature is calculated for three different contact materials: AgNi, AgCdO and AgSnO2, used in low voltage electromagnetic relays. An assumption is made that the heat process is adiabatic. Amount of heat is calculated based on let-through energy (Joules heat) of miniature circuit breaker and on real electrical contact resistance. A simplified model of electrical contact heating is proposed.

The authors evaluated the state of the knowledge of the Łódź Upland (about 18 000 km 2) avifauna. The total of 278 bird species was recorded by authors in the study area since the last century. After 1945, the total of 267 species were recorded, including 180 breeding species. According to the authors’ estimates about 11% of the area was investigated more preciously. The best investigated regions are: the Bzura river valley, 219 species were recorded including 165 breeding ones, the Pilica river valley, where the respective values are 211 and 158, region of the Jeziorsko Reservoir - 247 observed species and 152 breeding ones, the vicinities of the locality of Rogów with 118 breeding species and the Łódź city area with 125 breeding species. The Łódź Upland has been the place o f breeding for some rare birds in Poland: Cormorant, Purple Heron, Lesser Spotted Eagle, Hen Harrier, Montague’s Harrier, Curlew, Ruff, Herring Gull, White-winged Tern, Whiskered Tern, Crane, Stonechat, Collared Flycatcher, Aquatic Warbler, Bearded Tit.

Opis:
Energy levels and oscillator strengths for transitions between the lowest states of an acceptor in a quantum dot of finite potential barrier in cubic semiconductors have been computed in the effective-mass approximation. The degeneracy of the valence band in cubic semiconductors was taken into account in the spherical approximation. Variational envelope functions consisted of a finite basis of exponentials, and had to satisfy appropriate boundary conditions to ensure the hermiticity of the Hamiltonian matrix. In typical cubic semiconductors we have found enhanced values, by an order of magnitude, of oscillator strengths for the acceptor optical transitions in the dots of radii comparable to the acceptor diameter.

A man, In order to obtain something which makes him Or Her happy, Has to per form action which are – In the opinion of others – valuable and Worth to be paid for. Already from the previous sentence we can deduce a Simple truth that there is nothing for free, each thing service Has its price. Or in other words, sometimes you have to be a giver In order to be given something later. A work is a noble act, although many May become indignant about this statement. By working we multiply things we already have, Or we Get New ones. A human activity which makes us richer, is the one which is attributable to the human nature, and an inactivity or a satisfaction with things we already have is in contradiction with this nature. Taking into account a job ethics, as moral we can consider only such an activity of an individual which has won recognition in somebody else’s eyes, the highest manifestation of which is a remuneration. Not elsewhere, but on the ground of job ethics we ecounter a dissatisfaction of some people with actions of others, e.g. with an employer’s behavior who evades the obligation to pay work. The job ethics, since of became a part of a social discussion served politicians, as well a philisophers, or clerics to fight aversion to this organization of everyday live, which is indicated by the clock and operating hours of a factory. This aversion was based on an aspiration to satisfy one’s own needs, and nothing more. A 19 th – century labourer, having been given a remuneration, which enabled him or her a poor existence – poor but existence, did not see a reason why he or she should work more. After all, outside work there were so many interesting things to do, so it was not worth to waste time for moneygrubbing.

The eight areas of European or/and domestic importance for birds of Central Poland are presented in this paper. Jeziorsko and Sulejów Reservoirs; valleys of Pilica, Bzura, Ner and Grabia rivers; ponds in Walewice and ponds near Łowicz "Okręt” and "Rydwan” as well as Pilicka Forest and Zaięcze Landscape Park are described in the respect of bird communities and their potential risk assessment. Criteria for identification of other areas of local importance are proposed and 10 subsequent areas fulfilling them are listed.

Podstawową wielkością fizyczną, opisującą pracę przepustową łącznika elektroenergetycznego jest temperatura styków w stanie cieplnie ustalonym. Osiągana wartość temperatury zależy od ilości ciepła wydzielanej głównie na rezystancji zestyku. Dla obliczeń cieplnych układ zestykowy stanowi zawsze przypadek osiowego przepływu ciepła, które odpływa z niego przede wszystkim dzięki znacznej przewodności cieplej torów prądowych. W pracy przedstawiono wyniki obliczeń symulacyjnych stanu cieplnego zestyków modelowych oraz ocenę stopnia ich zgodności z wynikami badań obiektów rzeczywistych.
The temperature of switches in steady thermal state is the basic physical parameter, which describes the work of switch with connected contacts. The reached value of temperature depends on the amount of heat dissipated from the contacts surfaces. For thermal calculations, contact system is always a case of axial heat flow, which is transferred mainly via high thermal conductivity of current conductors. The results of simulation calculations of the thermal state for model contacts are presented. There was also made an evaluation of the compliance of theoretical results with inspections made on the real objects.

Rezystancja przejścia połączonych elektrod, w tym w szczególności zestyków łączników elektroenergetycznych, jest podstawowym parametrem determinującym ich obciążalność prądową znamionową (w warunkach pracy długotrwałej) oraz graniczną obciążalność zwarciową (powyżej której zestyki ulegają sczepieniu). W pracy przedstawiono wyniki obliczeń symulacyjnych wartości rezystancji przejścia wybranych typów zestyków, wykonane dla różnych modeli matematycznych oraz ocenę stopnia ich zgodności z wynikami badań obiektów rzeczywistych.
Transition resistance of coupled electrodes, including in particular the power switches electrical contacts, is the basic parameter which determines current capacity of the plate (in the long term operating conditions) and a short-circuit load limit (above which the contacts get welded). The results of simulation calculations of the transition resistance for selected types of contacts made for different mathematical models are presented. There was also made an evaluation of the compliance of theoretical results with ones got from inspections of the real objects.

W artykule próbowano wykazać wagę poszczególnych determinant występowania kompetencji relacyjnej na tle rozważań prowadzonych nad transferowalnością wiedzy w sieci. Wyszczególniono te czynniki, które poddają się aktywnemu oddziaływaniu decydentów, a także te, które pozostają ulotne. Zarządzanie specyficznymi kompetencjami wymaga zrozumienia współzależności pomiędzy obydwoma czynnikami.
The paper aims to emphasize the importance of given determinants that are deciding factors for relational competence to emerge. Special attention is paid to problems concerned with transferability of knowledge in networks. There are indicated both determinants that can be shaped by decision makers and determinants that are difficult to be unambiguously defined. In order for managers to manage specific competences it is necessary to understand interdependencies among both groups of factors.

Opis:
Innovativeness appears to be one of the most important attributes associated with the best of both public and private organizations. There are many studies conducted that aim at comparing the level of innovativeness among different regions. In general, one can assume that public and private organizations should cooperate and exchange their knowledge of both tangible and intangible elements within each region. However, it often happens that cooperation among organizations that possess distinct resources does not occur smoothly. This may also be because local social capital is not developed sufficiently to make it possible for companies to open their boundaries and allow some knowledge simply to spill over. That is why organizations like knowledge-brokers are necessary. Thanks to their activities, it becomes possible for companies to be able to acquire new and reliable knowledge sources at a local and non-local scale. The aim of the paper is to present emerging types of knowledge-brokers that result from the research conducted in Slaskie Voivodeship in 2018. The research method is a multiple case study with seven cases and deep interviews with people representing organizations responsible for taking part in knowledge and information transfer served as a major source of data. The results of analysis are presented and discussed, and further paths of research are proposed.

Purpose: The aim of the paper is to discuss assumptions that stand behind the idea that, in order to analyze a way in which organizations are willing to respond to environmental challenges, it is necessary to consider how the diffusion of knowledge related to sustainable management practices can impact on decision making dependent on managers’ cognitive frames. The analysis is focused on the sensemaking process initiated by a necessity to make a decision on whether to engage in a sustainability project involving steps to be made to protect natural environment. The attention is paid to its possible realization dependent on cognitive frames used by decision makers. This way of analysis allows for better understanding of factors which may hinder enterprises from implementing sustainability idea. In the paper current literature related to the topic is reviewed and next selected issues considered as critical for understanding the matter are described and discussed. Design/methodology/approach: Theoretical analysis is conducted and the key assumptions of critical realism related to ontological and epistemological dimensions are implemented. The importance of abductive way of thinking is outlined. Findings: In general, it is argued that managers who are more likely to accept paradoxical nature of challenges related to the implementation of sustainability tools should find it more useful to follow multidimensional paths through which they may reach stakeholders. It is also presented that in order to show how decisions as to implement the sustainability idea can be made, it is necessary to take into account consequences that are to arise from the fact that attitudes towards sustainability management are influenced by historical conditions. Because of the wide array of actors who may contribute to the successful implementation of the sustainability idea, it is predicted that different cognitive approaches should be used. The arguments that are provided appear to also prove that it is useful to consider deeply relations among sensemaking process and cognitive frames used by managers. Originality/value: The paper includes an authorial analysis in which conclusions are inferred based on hitherto conducted research and formulated research propositions related to sensemaking process, cognitive aspects of making decisions as well as to issues of building legitimacy in the light of environmental challenges which modern enterprises need to deal with. The analysis can provide decision makers with some new insights as to why they make decisions as they used to, which next should allow them to change their habits.

W artykule podjęto problematykę pośrednictwa w procesie transferu wiedzy. Nawiązując do modeli omawianych niegdyś w literaturze na temat zarządzania technologią, jak również obecnych aktualizacji na tym polu, autor rozważa możliwości i konsekwencje ich implementacji dla geograficznych skupisk przedsiębiorstw. Celem jest stworzenie podwalin pod budowę modeli działalności regionalnych instytucji pośredniczących w procesie transferu wiedzy.
The paper discusses problems concerned with the participation of intermediary structures in knowledge transfer processes. Taking into account models presented earlier in literature in the field of technology management completed with latest propositions, the author considers both the possibilities and the consequences of the implementation of similar structures in geographical clusters of enterprises. The paper aims at laying foundations for the development of the models that can include the most important aspects connected with activities undertaken by regional institutions which play intermediary roles when knowledge is transferring.

The paper presents a new concept of attack on trust and reputation systems. The oracle attack could violate the security provided by some of the existing reputation systems. The formal model of the attack is presented in the article on the base of the reference trust model, provided bythe author. The author has proved that this type of attack could be eficient. On the other hand,a sort of measures is provided in the paper which could be implemented in the reputation systems to overcome identified vulnerabilities, unfortunately at the cost of increase of system complication.The paper also provides a definition of intelligent strategies of attacks on trust and reputation systems based on cooperation of many malicious nodes and justifies why this type of attacks is a serious threat.

Article presents calculus for explosion temperature determination for process gas from solid fuel gasification as a mixture with air. Authors compare height of explosion temperature with gas composition, its working temperature and conditions of explosion. Goal of the article is to acquaint readers with risk factors with may exist during exploitation of solid fuel gasifiers.

Opis:
A polymeric split Hopkinson pressure bar technique (SHPB) is preferred for testing materials with low mechanical impedance. However, the use of polymeric bars requires additional analysis for data reduction, temperature complications and additional restrictions compared with traditional metallic pressure bars. A viscoelastic material, such as PMMA, exhibits both wave attenuation and wave dispersion. When a wave travels through a polymer bar, the wave amplitude decreases due to attenuation and the wave shape becomes distorted. Therefore, signals measured at given positions on a viscoelastic bar do not represent the pulse at another position along the pressure bar without complex corrections. This paper is concerned with the problem of correction of dispersion and attenuation of waves in the viscoelastic SHPB. It has been demonstrated that the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) spectral analysis method used to reconstruct wave profiles on the measured signals which are being distorted by wave attenuation and dispersion effects is valid and allows for obtaining satisfactory results for tire rubber.

W pracy przedstawiono teoretyczną analizę stanów naprężenia i skończonego odkształcenia w cienkościennym pierścieniu napędzanym wybuchowo. Uzyskano zamknięte analityczne wzory pozwalające na opracowanie i interpretację danych eksperymentalnych. Wyniki teoretyczne zweryfikowano przykładem eksperymentalnym. Uzyskano zadowalającą zgodność wyników teoretycznych z eksperymentalnymi.
A theoretical analysis of stress states and a finite deformation within a thin layered ring propelled explosively is presented in the paper. The complete system of equations was received to work out and interpret experimental data. Theoretical and experimental results are compared and a good level of coincidence on results was received.

Na zwałowisku zewnętrznym nadkładu kopalnianego w odkrywkowym wydobyciu węgla brunatnego w Turoszowie przeprowadzono czteroletnie badania z zastosowaniem osadów ściekowych i mieszanki nasion roślin do rekultywacji gruntu zwałowego. Do rozlewu biomasy wykorzystano samolot PZL 106 „Kruk”. W badaniach laboratoryjnych określano skład chemiczny osadów ściekowych i gruntu zwałowego oraz przeprowadzono badania mikrobiologiczne. W okresie badań w obiekcie z aviohydroobsiewem liczba gatunków roślin zwiększyła się o 14, a zwarcie warstwy zielnej o 60%. W obiekcie kontrolnym natomiast odpowiednio o 13 gatunków i około 12%. Z roślin zastosowanych w mieszance rekultywacyjnej główną rolę odgrywała mieszanka traw z dominującym udziałem kostrzewy czerwonej. Porost roślinności i rozkład powstającej substancji organicznej zainicjował tworzenie się poziomu próchnicznego w gruncie zwałowym.
Four year studies with sewage sludge application together with seeds for reclamation purposes were conducted on an outer dump of brown coal mine in Turoszów. The aeroplane PZL 106 Kruk was applied to biomass application. Chemical composition of the sludge and dump substrate were determmed in laboratory together with the microbiological analyse. During studies on the object with avio-hydro-sowing application the number of plant species increased by 14 and green plant cover by 60%. For untreated control object respective numbers were 13 and 12%. Among the plants applied in sown mixture the major role played the grasses with predominant share of Festuca rubra. Plant vegetation and decomposition of organic mater initiated the formation of humus layer in the post-mining gronud.
