Contemporary sport is becoming more and more commercialized, hence the players strive to win at all costs, and to achieve this goal, they consider all means to be allowed. In order to be constantly on top, competitors change their training methods, use various aids, and finally direct their interests towards doping. Doping is considered to be the use of substances and all means intended to artificially increase physical fitness during sports competitions, which may be harmful to the ethics of sport or cause mental and physical harm to athletes. The aim of the research is to assess the knowledge of the problem and attitudes of young people practicing sports games towards the dangers of doping. Assessment of knowledge on the effects of the use of illicit means, and analysis of opinion on the use of doping and strengthening mechanisms for the adoption of pharmacological agents. Research on the knowledge about the use of support measures and doping in sport was carried out among talented youth practicing team sports games in randomly selected clubs of Małopolska, Silesia, Podkarpacie and Opole. Continuation studies were conducted in 2018-2020, they covered 60 girls and 60 boys, aged 16 years. The research was carried out using a questionnaire, the questions of which concerned the following problems: knowledge of the essence of sports doping, the relationship between doping and the principle of fair play in sport, support used in physical recreation, reasons for the use of doping, moral and criminal liability in the use of doping. When analyzing the results of the research, it should be noted that the use of doping in sport is negatively perceived by the examined youth. However, it can be assumed that the knowledge about the support and the problem of doping in sport is insufficient. Setting the main goal - sports success and the related financial rewards, as well as the willingness to be the best in the opinion of the respondents may narrow the boundaries, which may facilitate the decision to use support and doping. These observations seem to be very disturbing, as the analysis of research data concerns young people practicing sports at the stage of education and the utilitarian nature of physical activity.

The emergence of women’s team sports in University Sports Association (Akademicki Związek Sportowy – AZS) in Poland took place in the second decade of the 20th century. In the 1930s female student teams competed in Polish championships in Czech handball, basketball and volleyball. After the Second World War, team games continued to be popularized in the academic community. Women participated in university, inter-university and international competitions in basketball, handball and volleyball. A competition had the greatest popularity in of the Academic Polish Championship and the Polish Championship of Higher Education Institutions. In addition, sports teams representing AZS participated in professional sports in basketball, football, field hockey, handball and volleyball. In the professional sport most suc-cesses had teams AZS Warsaw, AZS Wrocław, AZS Katowice and AZS Poznań. The development of team sports games in the academic community was related to, among others with the decisions of institutions managing physical culture in Poland in 1945–1989. These guidelines had an impact on organizational changes in the structures of AZS and on shaping the ac-ademic model of sports competition.
Geneza zespołowych gier sportowych kobiet w strukturach Akademickiego Związku Sportowego (AZS) w Polsce przypada na drugą połowę lat 20. XX w. W latach 30. XX w. żeńskie drużyny studenckie brały udział w rozgrywkach o mistrzostwo Polski w dyscyplinach hazeny, koszykówki oraz piłki siatkowej. Po II wojnie światowej nastąpiło upowszechnienie gier ze-społowych w środowisku akademickim. Kobiety uczestniczyły w rozgrywkach koszykówki, piłki ręcznej i piłki siatkowej, w rywalizacji uczelnianej, międzyuczelnianej oraz międzynarodowej. Największą popularność osiągnęło współzawodnictwo w ramach Akademickich Mi-strzostw Polski oraz Mistrzostw Polski Szkół Wyższych. Ponadto zespoły reprezentujące AZS brały udział we współzawodnictwie kwalifikowanym – na poziomie okręgowym, a także na szczeblach lig państwowych. W zakresie sportu wyczynowego w latach 1945–1989, najwięk-sze sukcesy wiązały się z działalnością drużyn: AZS Warszawa, AZS Wrocław, AZS Katowice i AZS Poznań. Rozwój zespołowych gier sportowych w środowisku akademickim związany był m.in. z decyzjami instytucji zarządzających kulturą fizyczną w Polsce w latach 1945–1989. Wytyczne władz państwowych miały wpływ na zmiany organizacyjne w strukturach AZS oraz na kształtowanie modelu akademickiego współzawodnictwa sportowego.

Within the article, we analyze and evaluate the popularity and common issues of teaching sports games in physical and sport education at elementary schools in Slovakia. A survey was the research instrument for collecting the primary data, aimed at male (620) and female (506) teachers of physical and sport education at the second elementary education stage of three regions of Slovakia. Detecting of teachers' perception was surveyed in period of three years (2017 – 2020). Each answer of male and female teachers was compared and evaluated by using the chi-square test (X2), while the significance level (α) was .01 and .05. In general, the sports games were the most popular activities among the male and female teachers of physical and sport education (58.02 %; n = 653). More than 41 % of male and female teachers' answers about the most significant factors influencing the quality of teaching sports games were spatial and material conditions. The reason for that was partly due to the low time allowance of teaching sports games (28.86 %; n = 152). The traditional sports games (football, volleyball, basketball) were the best secured, in terms of material conditions, in contrast to floorball (34,70 %; n = 390).

Among factors that positively underlie physical education process, provide stimuli during exercise sessions, increase interest, effectiveness and esthetic character are various nontraditional games as well as nontraditional exercise equipment. Nontraditional sports games have effect on physical fitness and motor performance, promote health, social and moral development of children. We aimed to provide further evidence on nontraditional sports games, their rules, basic methods, forms and means used in teaching school physical education to prepubertal children. These means were used to develop coordination abilities of general population. The statistical significance of changes was determined using paired samples t-test for the following abilities: rhythmical abilities, reaction abilities, balance abilities, kinesthetic-differentiation ability (spatial, strength), frequency ability, coupling ability and reorganization ability. The use of nontraditional movement games was found to have effect on behavior change of children with ADHD. To determine changes in behavior, Vanderbilt rating scale was used. Statistically significant improvements determined by Wilcoxon test was found for the following subscales: following instructions/rules, assignment completion and organizational skills.

The aim of this article is to emphasize and acknowledge traditional sports as an important historical and socio-cultural phenomenon. By describing ‘the traditional sports and games movement’ from its organization to some key ideas, the authors show how local and national heritage of physical culture is important to every society. Within the current process of globalization, which touches on not only economic and political domains but also cultural and ethnic ones, people need to be aware of their heritage and identity. Various forms of our own, indigenous physical activity are part of this identity. In this article, the authors show the general background to the current situation of traditional sports in a globalized world, which is the socio-cultural context in which they exist, by describing some examples of these kinds of sports and initiatives all over the world. Afterwards, the focus will turn to a particular event – The 5thWorld Sport for All Games – during which traditional sports and games are played and promoted, showing the existence of this kind of sport as a potentially efficient tool in promoting cultural exchange and preserving heritage in the contemporary world.

The article is devoted to a new approach to the problem of rethinking the concept of development of the higher education system against the background of socioeconomic transformations in the country. A new look at the processes of transformation involves an innovative approach to the system of physical education: improving curricula. This approach is based on the introduction of new modern technologies in the educational process, as methods and techniques proposed by teachers of the Department of Physical Education. At the stage of reforming the higher education system, the requirements for the level of training of young professionals are growing: both literate and harmoniously developed and physically healthy specialists are needed, and the competencies gained as a result of training will contribute to functional professional tasks. The main tasks of legal institutions of higher education can be called the education of the individual, the formation and development of a young specialist who, having received professional knowledge, is ready to effectively implement them in accordance with the needs of modern society (Barsukova, Antipova, 2021). The discipline „Physical Education” at the National University „Odessa Law Academy” among other humanities disciplines forms the competencies of the profile aimed at studying the general laws of preserving and strengthening the health of the applicant, the formation of a harmoniously developed personality of young professionals (Golovchenko, 2001). In order to implement the main objectives of the discipline, the educational program for the preparation of applicants for higher education with a bachelor’s degree was revised. The existing curriculum in physical education is analyzed and evaluated.On the basis of the received data the correction of the maintenance of employment on physical training with the substantiation of introduction in educational process of the changes given by teachers is offered. The program is developed on the basis of laws and principles of physical education, legal documents that determine the order of higher education institutions and includes theoretical and practical teaching material. This program, according to the concept of development, is tailored to the wishes of applicants and has three main sections: Sports Games, Health Fitness, Rehabilitation Groups, each of which solves the main task of learning – physical development and rehabilitation of higher education. In this article we explore one of the most effective forms of motor activity of applicants – sports games. We have used sports games as a tool that promotes the quality of theoretical and practical skills of health, which provides students with successful mastery of professional knowledge (Krucevic, 2008).
Стаття присвячена новому підходу до проблеми переосмислення концепції розвитку системи вищої освіти на тлі соціально-економічних перетворень у країні. Новий погляд на процеси перетворення передбачає інноваційний підхід до системи фізичного виховання: удосконалення навчальних програм. Такий підхід ґрунтується на впровадженні у навчальний процес нових сучасних технологій; методів, запропонованих викладачами кафедри фізичного виховання. На етапі реформування системи вищої освіти зростають вимоги до рівня підготовки молодих фахівців: потрібні як грамотні, так і гармонійно розвинені та фізично здорові фахівці, отримані в результаті навчання компетенції сприятимуть виконанню функціональних професійних завдань. Головними завданнями юридичних установ вищої освіти можна назвати виховання особистості, формування та розвиток молодого спеціаліста, який, отримавши професійні знання, готовий ефективно реалізувати їх відповідно до потреб сучасного суспільства (Барсукова, Антіпова, 2021). Навчальна дисципліна «Фізичне виховання» у Національному університеті «Одеська юридична академія» серед інших гуманітарних дисциплін формує компетентності профілю, спрямовані на вивчення загальних закономірностей збереження та зміцнення здоров’я здобувача, формування гармонійно розвиненої особистості молодого спеціаліста (Головченко, 2001). З метою реалізації основних завдань дисципліни було переглянуто освітню програму підготовки здобувачів вищої освіти ступеня бакалавр. Проаналізовано та дано оцінку наявної навчальної програми з фізичного виховання. На підставі отриманих даних запропоновано корекцію змісту занять з фізичного виховання з обґрунтуванням впровадження у навчальний процес поданих викладачами змін. Програма розроблена на основі закономірностей та принципів фізичного виховання, нормативно-правових документів, що визначають порядок діяльності установ вищої освіти та включає теоретичний та практичний матеріал навчання. Ця програма, згідно з концепцією розвитку, складена з урахуванням побажань здобувачів та має три основні розділи: Спортивні ігри, Оздоровчий фітнес, Групи реабілітації, кожен з яких вирішує основне завдання навчання – фізичний розвиток та оздоровлення здобувачів вищої освіти. У статті ми досліджуємо одну з найдієвіших форм рухової активності здобувачів – спортивні ігри. Спортивні ігри ми застосували як засіб, що сприяє якісному засвоєнню теоретичних та практичних навичок здоров’я, що забезпечує здобувачам успішне оволодіння професійними знаннями (Круцевич, 2008).

Sports boycott is one of the most important dimension of sport colliding with politics. The subject of the article is the boycott of the Los Angeles Olympic Games in 1984, one of the most spectacular boycotts, which was conducted by communist countries. It is widely recognized, that Los Angeles Olympics were boycotted as a result of a similar action by Western countries towards Moscow Olympics in 1980. However, evidence proves that there was no decision concerning communist boycott of Los Angeles Olympics until a few months before the Games. Preparations to the Olympics were on their way, but unexpected change of Soviet leader resulted in the boycott. Safety reasons were the declared reason for the boycott of the Soviet Union and 13 other communist countries. Nevertheless, it is evident that the real reasons were connected with the political game of USSR. The probable actual aims were the desire to hit the first ever privately financed Olympic Games and to make it harder for American president Ronald Raegan to be reelected. Naturally, at least partly it was also a matter of revenge for boycotting the Moscow Games.

China is a country that has been using sport in order to reach political goals for many years. Lately such political exploitation of sport is directed at shaping the desirable international image of this country. This is done most of all through hosting sports events, but also through sports victories. The last aspect is the subject of this research. The aim of the article is therefore to investigate the issue of utilization of performance in international sport in order to enhance international image of a China. The research presented in the article is a case study concerning sport as a tool of nation-branding. Its main objective is to analyse motivation of China’s decision-makers to use sports performance in order to enhance the country’s international perception, and to observe how this goals is executed. The main hypothesis to be tested states that China perceives sports performance as an important tool of enhancing its international image.

The Olympic Games of 1936 in Berlin found sports and Olympic movement in the Second Republic of Poland at a stage of developing and strengthening its organizational structure. The most famous and honored sport newspapers were: “Przegląd Sportowy” from Warsaw and – published by “IKC” concern from Cracow – “Raz, Dwa, Trzy”. The circulation of both titles constituted more than 3/4 of the circulation of all the sporting titles in the Second Republic of Poland. In this paper reports of “Raz, Dwa, Trzy” correspondents of the Olympic Games and the capital of Germany were presented. The analysis of the reporting of the journalists of “Raz, Dwa, Trzy” from the The Games of the XI Olympiad in Berlin allows to conclude that the narration of the reports fully corresponded with the aforementioned Polish-German Press Agreement of the 7th October 1934 and its basic assumptions. At the same time it was in accordance with the appreciation expressed to German organizers by foreign correspondents. The relations of the correspondents from Cracow indicate that Hitler’s’ regimentation reached its goals also in this environment. Enormous sports and infrastructural investments in the Third Reich, together with incorporating the modern technology, high degree of social discipline and the penchant for order and cleanliness, so typical for Germans, found their expressive reflection in the pages of “Raz, Dwa, Trzy”.

Despite many previous studies dealing with various aspects of physical activity in individuals with an amputation, the risk of injury in amputee footballers has not been assessed thus far. The aim of this study was to characterize the incidence and causes of sport injuries experienced by amputee football players. Furthermore, the incidence of injuries was stratified according to the players’ level of competitive aggressiveness and anger, and their role in the field. The study included 21 members of the Polish National Amputee Football Team, who have been followed-up for a period of 6 months. A total of 16 injuries were recorded, including three that required a medical consultation: luxation of the left elbow, adductor strain and ankle sprain. The group of injuries that have not been consulted with a physician included muscle strains (n = 4), abrasions (n = 3), bruising (n = 3), joint subluxations (n = 2) and luxation (n = 1). The injuries turned out to be more frequent in the lower limbs (n = 10) than in the upper ones (n = 6). The risk of injury turned out to be higher during trainings (n = 9) than matches (n = 7). Amputee football seems to be associated with low risk of injury, since only several bodily contusions were documented throughout the study period. The injuries occurred in 38% of the players; this makes amputee football a relatively safe discipline which can be recommended to physically disabled persons.

Background. The article is an introduction to the issues related to the World Games – non-Olympic sports. Inspiration to write this article was the future role of Wroclaw – the host city of the World Games in 2017. The aim of the article was to present the history and principles of non-Olympic sports of the Games, and the popularization and knowledge expansion of topics related to the event. Material and methods. The research material includes documents of the World Olympic Sports – The World Games and the International Association of The World Games (IWGA). Results and conclusions. The World Games are a great event, connecting more and more International Sports Federations, Athletes and Spectators. The World Games are a chance to show niche and new disciplines that may be included in the Olympic program in future. It is also a great sporting event, where the spectators can experience successes and failures of their favorite athletes, cheer for them, and for a while forget the obligations of everyday life and surrender to the magic of sport.

The aim of this study is to familiarize readers with the term e-sports and to show the influence which selected elements of Swedish culture have had on it. The article explores the definition of e-sports, its history and actual state. I concentrated especially on a document named the Svensk e-sports Code of Conduct. Rules and tips contained in this document were made and gathered in order to support an open and welcoming environment in e-sports.

For a long time football, despite being a very important part of modern world, and because of it an important part of the socio-economic sphere, has not been the subject of scientific considerations. Economists have been interested in new problems, including football, since L.C. Robbins proposed a definition of economics and G.S. Becker started his economic approach. Furthermore, the development of economic instruments helpsthose changes. The main purpose of this paper is to show the usefulness of economic methods and instruments in finding solutions of various problems. Therefore, we choose and describe a part of scientific, football research. At the beginning, we try to answer two questions. Why has not football been the subject of scientific consideration? Do football clubs differ from other firms? The second question is vital for businessmen. We present the most important, economic characteristics of a football club, for example: a diversity of sports clubs targets and the lack of incentives to monopolize markets. We argue that only a sum of all mentioned characteristics makes a football clubs managment special. In the next part, we present and try to assess different propositions which should make football matches more attractive. We find three groups of features, which should grow the demand for football matches. In the first group there are principles during a match. The second group is connected with the league system, and the last one refers to organizing big, football tournaments. The application of economic instruments gives arguments for and against various propositions. The most important results suggest that if only one type of fouls is punished, it does not improve the flow of the game. Furthermore, the results show that the effect of the rule of three points for a win on the game is ambiguous. It can improve the attractiveness of a match, but it also grows the number of fouls. Next, we discuss the effectiveness of football clubs and coaches. First of all, we try to find whether positions in the football leagues after a season match to clubs classifications of effectiveness well. For this purpose, we present the results of effectiveness research which use data set from Spanish leagues. The results differ from each other, thus we do not get a clear answer. In the next step, we show research about coach effectiveness which suggests that coaches should not be judged solely on the basis of a number of won matches.In the last part, we argue, that the use of the data set from football matches allows for empirical verification of the economic instruments and methods, on the one hand. On the other hand, it helps to solve many problems related to football. However, not all situations related to football are suitable for scientific research. Part of them are too complex.

The aim of the article is to analyze the boycott of the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow and its evaluation, concerning its causes and motivation of policy-makers. An attempt to verify the following hypotheses was made: lack of understanding of the way the Olympic movement functioned by the American administration was one of the reason for limited success of the boycott; the USSR did not expect that intervention in Afghanistan could lead to a boycott of the Olympics.
Celem artykułu jest analiza bojkotu igrzysk olimpijskich w Moskwie w 1980 r. oraz jego ocena, z uwzględnieniem jego przyczyn oraz motywacji przywódców zaangażowanych państw. Podjęto próbę weryfikacji hipotezy dotyczącej braku zrozumienia dla funkcjonowania ruchu olimpijskiego przez administrację amerykańską, co stało się przyczyną niepełnego sukcesu bojkotu, oraz zakładającej, iż w Związku Radzieckim nie przewidywano bojkotu igrzysk w Moskwie jako następstwa interwencji w A fganistanie.

Celem artykułu jest prezentacja dynamicznie rozwijającego się zjawiska gamingu na tle szerszej rzeczywistości społecznej. Gry elektroniczne (komputerowe, konsolowe i in.) są fenomenem współczesnej kultury cyfrowej, pozwalając graczom funkcjonować w świecie realnym i wirtualnym. Ich zastosowanie nie ogranicza się do rozrywki: gry wchodzą w skład praktycznych aplikacji służących w medycynie i rehabilitacji, rekreacji i sporcie. Emanacją globalnych trendów jest e-sport, będący symulakrem klasycznego sportu, naśladując go pod wieloma względami, ale i tworząc nowe relacje społeczne. E-sport stopniowo przenika do edukacji na poziomie szkoły średniej i wyższej, stając się elementem nowoczesnej kultury fizycznej i profesjonalnego sportu.
The aim of this article is to present the dynamically developing phenomenon of gaming against the background of the broader social reality. Electronic games (computer games, console games, etc.) are a phenomenon of contemporary digital culture, which allow players to interact in the real and virtual worlds. Such games are used for more than just entertainment: they are part of practical applications used in medicine and rehabilitation, recreation and sport. E-sports is an expression of global trends. It is also a simulacrum of traditional sport, which imitates it in many respects but also establishes new social relationships. E-sports is slowly making its way into secondary and higher education, emerging as an integral component of modern physical education and professional sport.
