In the paper the 3D laser machines for long pipe and structural material are presented. Also examples of a special truss joint and a longitudinal tube joint are depicted. Since joints of the laser cutting components are cut at high speed and with great accuracy, the time required for assembly and welding is considerably reduced.

In the paper examples of constructions made of steel tubes built in Japan are presented. Application the laser cutting components made possible to build such structures. Additionally, the time required for welding and assembly is reduced significantly, because the components are cut with high accuracy.

Opis:
The paper deals with the possibilities of measuring the residual displacement or hysteresis on the lateral direction of the movement forces caused by the cutting forces of the machining. A special adjustment of laser interferometry assemblies was used for measurement. The measurement results indicate that the positioning accuracy in addition to the cutting forces also influences the position of the displaced moving substances and the temperature. The complex effect of these parameters is greatly dependent on the design of the machine.

Opis:
The aim of this paper is to draw attention to more reliable verification method of positioning accuracy. The improvement lies in mathematical elimination of thermal impact during the measurement process. This thermal impact, always present during the motion of movable parts, is of a special systemic character. It increases the indefiniteness of measurement of the classic measurement method. This measurement uncertainty can be reduced by implementing the procedure introduced in this paper. The reduction can be achieved by separating the temperature impact from other sources of inaccuracy. Such separation is a very new solution. The methodology relies on mathematical processing and does not depend on the manner of accuracy measurement. The evaluation method also yields diagnostic information on the machine’s condition. The experiments were performed with the use of laser interferometer.

In the paper stages of the process of constituting a surface with the texture of the injection mold of a wheeled vehicle steering wheel using laser technology was discusses. During micromachining process with texturing there is a 5-axis CNC-controlled CNC machine TOOL LASERTEC 65 Shape used with a rigid monoBLOCK structure with Siemens 840D sl control, equipped with a fiber laser with a power of 100W, a wavelength of 1064 nm and a focal length of 181 mm. Processing technology was prepared using Autodesk Maya, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, NX9, Lastex v. 2.27.26 computer programs and machine tool control systems. Results of machining the steering wheel of a wheeled vehicle with a concentrated laser beam are discussed. Geometric structure of the surface after texturing was evaluated. Presented technology can be used to obtain the desired texture properties on the surface of the parts.

Opis:
Fast, easy and accurate measurement of geometry of numerically controlled machines has always been challenging. With the use of a laser interferometer, it can be precise but it is complex. On the other side, the use of granite reference blocks is fairly easy yet quite limited for many machine types and sizes. Nowadays the improvements in technology open a new way – the instruments based on the detection of laser beam spot position. Those instruments are accurate and easy to use yet, comparing to the laser interferometers and granite blocks, they are sensitive to parameters of a laser source and to changing environmental conditions. In the paper, we analyse experimentally the influence of the type and parameters of laser source on the accuracy of straightness measurements. The most commonly met in practical applications a free space and fibre based laser sources are studied and compared. The influence of environmental conditions on measurement accuracy is also shown. Finally, the conclusions about optimal methods of improving the accuracy of beam position detection methods are drawn.

This article deals with the adjustment of a 3D printer for laser engraving and material cutting. The print head can be fitted with a solid laser diode module, which achieves a compact size while retaining its useful power. Two paths lead to the use of such a concept. It is possible to equip the existing print head with a module, which also brings a number of disadvantages such as, for example, the reduction of the printing space or the need for a suitable mounting design. A more elegant solution is to consider this in the design of a 3D printer and design a system to exchange the print heads for 3D printing and laser engraving. Such a solution allows full utilization of the workspace and simple installation of the effector for the required type of work. According to the installed power of the laser diode, it is possible not only to engrave but also cut material such as thin wood, veneer or acrylic glass. The use of such a machine is not only for graphic elements but for the creation of various stencils, boxes or simple models, which can be made up of plastic-burning pieces. The laser module is controlled by a driver, which is designed for the device. This is connected to a 3D printer control board. It is, therefore, necessary for the control board to have at least two pins, which can be controlled after adjusting the control firmware. Most laser modules are normally equipped with an adjustable lens, which is used to concentrate the focus of a laser for the given distance against the worktop. Thus, the modified 3D printer can perform its function as a multi-purpose CNC machine, while a basic platform similar for both devices is used.

Addressing at the question of the divergence angle of the semiconductor laser being quite large and the reduction of measurement accuracy caused by the diffraction effect of the light spot at the long working distance, the optical structure of the system was optimized through a series of simulations and experiments. A plano-convex lens was used to collimate the laser beam and concentrate the energy distribution of the diffraction effect. The working distance of the system was increased from 2.6 m to 4.6 m after the optical optimization, and the repeatability of the displacement measurement is kept within 2.2 m in the total measurement range. The performance of the developed system was verified by measuring the straightness of a machine tool through the comparison tests with two commercial multi-degree-of-freedom measurement systems. Two different measurement methods were used to verify the measurement accuracy. The comparison results show that during the straightness measurement of the machine tool, the laser head should be fixed in front of the moving axis, and the sensing part should move with the moving table of the machine tool. Results also show that the measurement error of the straightness measurement is less than 3 m compared with the commercial systems. The developed laser measurement system has the advantages of high precision, long working distance, low cost, and suitability for straightness and parallelism error measurement.

In the paper we compare the laser based measurements of linear parameters of numerically controlled machines. A new dynamic method of measuring machine positioning is described and compared with the widely used static method. The algorithms of the dynamic method are presented and the comparison results of both methods are shown. It is proven that with the new method the measurement time of linear errors of the CNC machines can be reduced significantly. Additionally the machine wear-out in the linear axes can also be easily and efficiently monitored.

The study aims to evaluate angular positioning accuracy and repeatability of DMU 65 monoBLOCK numerically controlled machine tool. The measurements were carried out with XL-80 Laser Interferometer with XR20-W attachment. The measurements were conducted according to the standard PN-ISO230-2. Test methodology and measurement results analysis are presented in a form of figures and tables. The final part presents conclusions from the analysis.

In order to integrate the chief potentials in the shuttle mowing gantry module one has to study the methods of improving precision by the use of automatically controlled more straightforward means that do not require direct hand operation by a man. Precision of the course of both chassis and frequency of its corrections depends on the place of laser catcher’s mounting along or across the spar. Precision and correction frequency increase when photodiodes are distanced transversely from the spar (length 18 m) and when the distance between photodiodes is reduced.
W celu zwiększenia integracji przemieszczeń ruchomego modułu urządzenia pozycjonowania i ruchomego podwozia, przeprowadzono badania różnych metod służących poprawie precyzji, przy użyciu automatycznych elementów sterująco-kontrolnych, pozwalających wyeliminować sterowanie ręczne. Precyzja przebiegu procesu przestawiania ruchomego modułu względem podłoża zależy od sposobu zamocowania urządzenia laserowego - wzdłuż lub w poprzek belki nośnej. Precyzja i częstotliwość zwiększają się, kiedy fotodiody znajdują się w położeniu poprzecznym daleko od belki nośnej (o długości 18 m) i kiedy odległość pomiędzy fotodiodami jest mała.

The sequential multilateration principle is often adopted in geometric error measurement of CNC machine tools. To identify the geometric errors, a single laser tracker is placed at different positions to measure the length between the target point and the laser tracker. However, the measurement of each laser tracker position is not simultaneous and measurement accuracy is mainly subject to positioning repeatability of the machine tool. This paper attempts to evaluate the measurement uncertainty of geometric errors caused by the positioning repeatability of the machine tool and the laser tracker spatial length measurement error based on the Monte Carlo method. Firstly, a direct identification method for geometric errors of CNC machine tools based on geometric error evaluation constraints is introduced, combined with the geometric error model of a three-axis machine tool. Moreover, uncertainty contributors caused by the repeatability of positioning of numerically controlled axes of the machine tool and the laser length measurement error are analyzed. The measurement uncertainty of the geometric error and the volumetric positioning error is evaluated with the Monte Carlo method. Finally, geometric error measurement and verification experiments are conducted. The results show that the maximum volumetric positioning error of the machine tool is 84.1 μm and the expanded uncertainty is 5.8 μm ( = 2). The correctness of the geometric error measurement and uncertainty evaluation method proposed in this paper is verified compared with the direct geometric error measurement methods.

This work presents a method of measuring the maximum stress that a composite sample fixed on a tooth surface will withstand. The test was carried out for 3 different surface conditions of enamel: no processing, after treatment with a diamond drill, and after treatment with a diode laser. The force of adhesion was measured in an Instron 5960 testing machine. The results demonstrate a significant effect of the surface condition on the adhesion of the composite to the enamel.
Praca przedstawia metodę pomiaru maksymalnego naprężenia jakie wytrzyma próbka kompozytu umocowana na powierzchni zęba. Badanie przeprowadzono dla 3 różnych stanów powierzchni szkliwa: bez obróbki, po obróbce wiertłem diamentowym oraz po obróbce laserem diodowym. Siłę adhezji zmierzono w maszynie wytrzymałościowej Instron 5960. Wyniki potwierdzają znaczący wpływ stanu powierzchni na adhezję kompozytu do szkliwa.
