Die derzeitige politische Konstellation mit den Regierungen Tusk und Merkel erlaubt ein Höchstmaß an Kongruenz und Möglichkeiten zur Überwindung von Beziehungsproblemen. Bei den polnischen Präsidentschaftswahlen 2010 könnte sich die Übereinstimmung Präsident – Regierung im deutschen Nachbarland vergrößern. Für die Bundestagswahl 2009 sehen polnische Beobachter jedoch einem etwaigen SPD-Spitzenkandidaten Steinmeier mit größerer Skepsis entgegen, da ihm in Fortführung der Politik Schröders, eine größere Nähe zu Russland als zu Polen, unterstellt wird.Im Bereich der Europäischen Integration gehört Polen jetzt zum Schengen-Raum, die Grenzkontrollen zu den EU-Ländern sind abgeschafft der EU-Vetrag angenommen, die Freizügigkeit von Seiten Deutschland aber wohl bis 2011 verschoben. Der Wunsch Polens zur baldigen Annäherung der Ukraine an EU und vor allem NATO brachte Dissonanzen, die aber di grundsätzliche Übereinstimmung nicht veränderten. In pragmatischer Weise wird sich das Problem der Ostsee-Gaspipeline lösen lassen. Die deutsche Minderheit in Polen ist weniger politisiert und ist in der Frage der zweisprachigen Ortsschilde und der früheren Enteignungen im Gespräch mit der polnischen Regierung. Der Stolperstein „Vertreibungszentrum“ ist beiseite geschoben, auch wenn die Chance vertan wurde ein gemeinsames Projekt an beiden Seiten der Oder anzusiedeln. Görlitz und das polnische Zgorzelec errichten auf eigene Initiative ein Dokumentationszentrum zu Flucht und Vertreibung. Interessant in diesem Zusammenhang, dass sich Ungarn mit einer demonstrativen Geste die Vertreibung der deutschen Volksgruppe bedauert und sich dafür entschuldigt hat. Die polnisch-deutschen Wirtschaftbeziehungen entwickeln sich weiter. Eine deutsche Rente für Ghetto-Arbeiter ist vorge-sehen. Zu klären bleibt weiterhin die Frage der in der Kriegszeit in das jetzige Polen ausgelagerten deutschen Kultursammlungen. Die Arbeit an der deutsch-polnischen Basis konnte, ungeachtet der Aufgeregtheiten der Kaczyński-Ära, mit der Aufbereitung des deutschen „kulturellen Erbes“ fortgesetzt werden. Das gilt auch für die Euroregionen und jetzt auch wieder für das Deutsch-Polnische Jugendwerk. Trotz der durch Umfragen bestätigten Annäherung der Polen und der Deutschen bleibt die Inkongruenz der Interessen für das jeweils andere Volk und die Ungleichheit der Kenntnisse über das Nachbarland. Es ist sogar festzustellen, dass nach dem Ende der Regierung Kaczyński das politische Interesse in der deutschen Bevölkerung und in den Medien an Polen abnahm. Um so erstaunlicher, dass das Buch des in Polen lebenden deutschen Kabarettisten Steffen Möller „Viva Polonia“ zum Besteller in Deutschland wurde. Es wäre zu wünschen, dass sich Deutsche mehr mit Polen beschäftigen und in dieses Nachbarland reisen, damit der politischen Kongruenz auch eine stärkere Kongruenz bei der Bevölkerung entspricht.

The paper attempts to present an account of the interrelations between aspect and tense in Polish and Danish sentences expressing past time meaning. The starting-point of the comparative analysis is the view that different languages do not use the same morphosyntactic means for representing a category. A grammatical category is always a mapping between particular formal means and particular meanings (or functions). With reference to Czarnecki (1998) the author distinguishes between the functional-semantic category aspectuality and the formal category aspect. According to this view there are different formal means of expressing the aspectuality: morphological, syntactic and lexical. The Polish aspect is to be defined in grammatical terms, whereas its Danish counterpart rather in lexical-semantic ones. Correspondingly, tense and aspect are very closely connected with each other in Polish.

Uczestnicy kursów języka polskiego organizowanych przez placówki kształcenia dorosłych - Uniwersytety Ludowe (Volkshochschule - VHS) stanowią najliczniejszą grupę uczących się naszego języka w Republice Federalnej Niemiec. Corocznie organizowanych jest w ramach tej instytucji około 200 semestralnych kursów języka polskiego, w których bierze udział średnio 2000 uczestników. Nauczanie języków obcych w Uniwersytetach Ludowych RFN prowadzone jest w oparciu o programy funkcjonalno-pojęciowe systemu certyfikatowego (VHS-Zertifikat). Formułują one cele nauczania i określają jego treści na dwóch poziomach: podstawowym (Grundbaustein) i certyfikatowym (Zertifikat).

The purpose of this inquiry is to set the equivalence relations between the German modal particles etwa, schon, wohl in rhetorical questions and the corresponding particles in Polish. The communicative function of the particles according to rhetoricity will be established first. The relevance of the particles meaning in causing the rhetoricity will be considered at that. The research results should provide information about the equivalence types as well as about the real use of the particles in German and Polish in terms of rhetoric.

Social networking services, such as Facebook, are important channels of communication both for monolingual users and for those having various degrees of proficiency in L2, with the latter deploying expression both from L1 and L2. It can, therefore, be presumed that communication on FB plays a role in practicing the use of L2. One of the phenomena that can be examined in relation to that are various forms of code-switching. There is animmense research gap related to Polish-English code-switching appearing on this SNS. To obtain a full picture of the issue, the paper identifies and discusses types, strategies, and functions of Polish-English code-switches found in posts and comments published by Poles on Facebook in 2014–2019. It also indicates possible applications of FB tools and materials including CS in foreign language teaching and learning and shows how Facebook enables “social learning” (Mallia, 2013). The research is based on a corpus constructed by the author of this article. An integrated approach with both qualitative and quantitative methods of analysis is used in the paper. Three main CS types (intrasentential, intersentential, and tag-switching) and strategies (alternation, insertion, and congruent lexicalisation) have been attested in the material. The code-switches mostly indicate in-group membership but also, for example, introduce humor, quotes, and signal a lack of L1 equivalents. The study points out that there are certain relations between the types, strategies and functions. The resultsof the research are collated with the recent studies on Polish-English and Indonesian-English CS on Facebook.
Social Media, wie Facebook, sind wichtige Kommunikationswege sowohl für einsprachige Anwender als auch für Nutzer mit verschiedenen Fremdsprachenkenntnissen (die letzteren übernehmen die Strukturen der Mutter- und Fremdsprache in die Konversation). Im Resultat kann man annehmen, dass die Kommunikation via Facebook eine gewisse Rolle bei der Verwendung von Fremdsprachen spielt. Einen der Aspekte, der in dieser Hinsicht analysiert werden kann, bilden verschiedene Formen von Codeswitching. In Bezug auf das Codeswitching zwischen Polnisch und Englisch, das in diesem sozialen Netzwerk vorkommt, besteht eine wesentliche Forschungslücke. Für einen kompletten Überblick über das dargestellte Problem werden im vorliegenden Artikel an angeführten polnisch-englischen Beispielen bestimmte Typen, Strategien und Funktionen von Codeswitching in Posts und Kommentaren, die von polnischen Facebook-Nutzern in den Jahren 2014–2019 erstellt wurden, identifiziert und erläutert. Darüber hinaus wird im Text auf die Anwendungsmöglichkeiten von Facebook-Tools und Materialien zum Codeswitching bei dem Fremdsprachenlehren und -lernen hingewiesen und der Aspekt des „sozialen Lernens“ (Mallia, 2013) mittels Facebook angesprochen.Die Untersuchung basiert auf einem Korpus, das von der Autorin des vorliegenden Artikels entwickelt wurde. In der Untersuchung wurde eine integrative – d.h. qualitative und quantitative Methode eingesetzt. Im analysierten Material lassen sich drei Haupttypen (satzinterner, satzübergreifender, parenthetischer) und -strategien (Alliteration, Parenthese, entsprechende Umstellung von Lexemen) des Sprachcodeswitching unterscheiden. Das Codeswitching deutet hauptsächlich auf die Zugehörigkeit zur bestimmten Gruppe hin, kann aber auch Humor bzw. ein Zitat in die Aussage einleiten oder das Fehlen von Äquivalenten in der Muttersprache signalisieren. Aus dem Artikel ergibt sich, dass es gewisse Abhängigkeiten zwischen den Typen, Strategien und Funktionen des Codeswitching gibt. Die Resultate der betreffenden Analyse werden mit Ergebnissen der neuesten Untersuchungen über das polnisch- und indonesischenglische Codeswitching auf Facebook zusammengestellt.

Die spezifischen translatorischen Herausforderungen beim Übersetzen von fiktionaler Prosa auf der einen und nichtfiktionaler Prosa auf der anderen Seite hängen mit dem unterschiedlichen Status beider Formen der Narration zusammen: Beim fiktionalen Erzählen sind vor allem das vom Autor gewählte narrative Genre, Epochenströmungen bzw. -codes, vielleicht eine individuelle Ästhetik zu beachten; beim „faktualen“ Erzählen (MARTINEZ / SCHEFFEL 2005) ist die nichtfiktionale Textsorte sowie der – in der Regel absichtsvolle – Umgang des Autors mit dem Faktenmaterial besonders wichtig. Beide für vergleichende Analysen gewählten Beispiele sind in den 1950er Jahren entstanden: Für die fiktionale Prosa steht MAREK HŁASKOs kurze Erzählung Krzyż (‚Das Kreuz‘, 1956), für die nichtfiktionale bzw. halbfiktionale Prosa stehen GUSTAV HERLING-GRUDZIŃSKIs kanonische Memoiren aus dem Gulag, Inny świat (‚Eine andere Welt‘, 1951/1952).
Specyficzne wymagania translatoryczne przy tłumaczeniu prozy fikcjonalnej z jednej i prozy niefikcjonalnej z drugiej strony łączą się z różnorodnym stanem obydwu form narracji: w narracji fikcjonalnej przede wszystkim trzeba zwracać uwagę na wybrany przez autora gatunek narracyjny, tendencje i kody danej epoki, może i styl autorski; w wypadku narracji „faktualnej“ (MARTINEZ / SCHEFFEL 2005) zaś, gatunek niefikcjonalny jak i – z reguły celowy – na specjalną uwagę zasługuje sposób traktowania faktów. Obydwa wybrane dla analiz porównawczych przykłady powstały w latach 1950: prozę fikcjonalną reprezentuje krótkie opowiadanie MARKA HŁASKI Krzyż (1956), niefikcjonalną albo półfikcjonalną zaś klasyczny pamiętnik z Gulagu GUSTAWA HERLINGA-GRUDZIŃSKIEGO, Inny świat (1951/1952).
The specific translatory challenges of prose fiction, on the one hand, and nonfictional narrative, on the other hand, are connected with the different status of both these forms of narration: In prose fiction, first of all, the genre chosen by the author, the trends and codes of an epoch and, maybe, the author’s individual aesthetics have to be taken into account; in „factual“ narration (MARTINEZ / SCHEFFEL 2005), however, the nonfictional genre and also the author’s – as a rule deliberate – way of dealing with the facts tend to be especially important. Both examples chosen for a comparative analysis were written in the 1950ies: Fictional prose is represented by MAREK HŁASKO’s short narrative Krzyż (‚The Cross‘, 1956), nonfictional prose, half-fictional prose respectively, by GUSTAV HERLING-GRUDZIŃSKI’s ‚classical‘ memoirs of the Gulag, Inny świat (‚A World Apart‘, 1951/1952).
