The scientific heritage of M. R. G. Conzen, who is considered one of the most outstanding historical geographers and urban morphologists in the world, has made a huge impact on the contemporary urban historic morphology. Nowadays it would be very hard to imagine this scientific discipline without his achievements. He created a new point of view on the city, first within the Anglo-Saxon, and afterwards within European and world geography. Morphogenetic methods, the conceptualisation of historic development, terminological precision as well as cartographic analysis that were typical of his approach, more and more often were considered essential for the development and the role of research on historic urban landscape. This resulted in the increasing interest in morphological studies on an international scale. In Poland, M. R. G. Conzen’s opinions have become recognizable since 1960, finding permanent place in urban historic morphology and providing stimuli for its significant development in the following decades.

W artykule przedstawiono zagadnienia związane z nawigacją robotów mobilnych. Analizę metod dokonano na przykładzie minirobota mobilnego m.r.k własnej konstrukcji. Omówione zostały również nowoczesne metody wykorzystujące nawigację GPS.
The article demonstrate problem with navigation mobile robot. The analysis of methods was executed on example mobile minirobot M.R.K. The article presents also new method navigations and localizations build on Global Positioning System GPS.

Since the age of sensibility there has been a growing focus on inner subjective experience. The epistolary novels of Goethe (“Die Leiden des jungen Werther” [The Sorrows of Young Werther], 1774) and J. M. R. Lenz (“Der Waldbruder. Ein Pendant zu Werthers Leiden” [The Hermit. A Pendant to Werther’s Sorrows], 1776) provide an insight into the emotional world of a first-person narrator. His emotions, such as sadness or longing, are expressed through conventional rhetorical figures such as the oxymoron. However, the mixed feelings shown in the novels are rarely interpreted with reference to rhetorical figures.

M.R. James is known as a master of the ghost story, giving his name to a sub-genre. This article explores his use of the traditional Punch and Judy puppet show in his short story The Story of a Disappearance and an Appearance and the subsequent use by two modern authors, Christopher Harman and D.P. Watt, writing in the Jamesian style. The article considers the association between puppets and the occult before examining aspects of the show and how representations of historic and contemporary performances differ. Finally, the authors’ utilization of the Punch and Judy tradition in the stories is analyzed.

The article fits in the research on Polish digital poetry. It presents two realisations of digital poetry – wiersz numer 1 beta by M.R. Wiśniewski and Read more+ by P.P. Płucienniczak, focusing on aspect of work’s structural shape and possibilities of the user, given within interactive actions programmed by the author. The issues of the article are concentrated on interactive possibilities of work created in new media environment, especially on status of author and addresser, which is connected with interactivity phenomenon. Deliberations about the interactivity are based on works of Ryszard W. Kluszczyński, whereas changes made in poetry thanks to characteristics of new media were referred from works of such researchers as Urszula Pawlicka and Mariusz Pisarski. Deliberations on digital message refer mainly to works of Ewa Szczęsna. Two examples analyzed in the article represents different approaches of explorative potential of Polish digital poetry. Wiśniewski’s wiersz numer 1 beta, made in convention of game, includes the addresser as user-player in the process of work’s creation. Płucienniczak’s Read more+ is the example of intentional resignation of possibilities given by interactive actions.
Artykuł wpisuje się w badania nad polską poezją cyfrową. Przedstawia analizę dwóch realizacji poezji cyfrowej – wiersza numer 1 beta Michała Radomiła Wiśniewskiego i Read more+ Piotra Puldziana Płucienniczaka, skupiając się na aspekcie strukturalnego ukształtowania utworu oraz możliwościach odbiorcy-użytkownika, jakie w ramach zaprojektowanych działań interaktywnych otrzymuje on od autora. Problematyka artykułu koncentruje się wokół zagadnień interaktywnych możliwości utworów powstających w środowisku nowych mediów, przede wszystkim zaś wokół statusu autora i odbiorcy, z czym wiąże się zjawisko interaktywności. Ustalenia dotyczące tego pojęcia oparte zostały na pracach Ryszarda W. Kluszczyńskiego, natomiast zmiany, jakie dokonały się w poezji za sprawą właściwości nowych mediów, przywołano na podstawie publikacji takich badaczy jak Urszula Pawlicka i Mariusz Pisarski. Rozważania dotyczące przekazu cyfrowego zreferowano głównie za Ewą Szczęsną. Analizowane w artykule dwa utwory cyfrowe to przykłady różnych kierunków potencjału eksploracyjnego polskiej poezji cyfrowej. Wiersz numer 1 beta Wiśniewskiego, zrobiony w konwencji gry, włącza odbiorcę jako użytkownika-gracza w proces powstawania utworu. Read more+ Płucienniczaka to z kolei przykład świadomej rezygnacji z możliwości, jaką dają interaktywne działania.

Zagospodarowanie terenów dawnych fortyfikacji w krajobrazie miast europejskich obejmuje zwykle reprezentacyjne budowle instytucjonalne i tereny o funkcjach publicznych. Stanowi czytelną strefę będącą świadectwem dawnej potęgi historycznych miast i podkreśla odrębność obszarów pofortecznych w ich strukturze przestrzennej. Tworzy jednocześnie przedłużenie zespołu staromiejskiego oraz zapewnia strefę wypoczynku i rekreacji dla mieszkańców aglomeracji miejskich. Przeobrażenia strefy dawnych fortyfikacji w Toruniu doprowadziły do powstania krajobrazu miejskiego, który można przyrównać do wielu miast europejskich. W artykule, na tle rozwoju nowożytnych fortyfikacji bastionowych w Europie i w Polsce, dokonano charakterystyki rozwoju fortyfikacji miejskich w Toruniu (cz. prawobrzeżnej), analizy ich późniejszych przeobra- żeń oraz zagospodarowania w kontekście koncepcji fringe belt M.R.G. Conzena.
The development of the former fortification zones in the urban landscape of European cities includes usually the representational institutional buildings and areas of public functions. It provides a clear zone which is a testimony of the power of the old historic towns, but also it emphasizes separateness of post-fortification areas in the urban spatial structure. At the same time the post-fortification development creates an extension of the old town and provides a recreation zone for urban residents. Transformations of former fortifications zone in Toruń led to the creation of the urban landscape, which can be compared to many European cities. In the paper, on the background of the development of modern bastion fortifications in Europe and Poland, the characteristics of the development of the city’s fortifications in Toruń was made (right bank part), as well as analysis of their subsequent transformation and development in the context of the concept of fringe belt by M.R.G. Conzen.

W pracy przedstawiono koncepcję stanowiska do określania struktury przepływu gaz-ciecz. Struktura przepływu może być pęcherzykowa jak i rozwarstwiona. Ze względu na złożony charakter omawianego zjawiska trudno jest opracować jednolity system rozpoznawania struktury. W pracy przedstawiono system pomiarowy składający się z tomografu optycznego służący do rozpoznawania struktur pęcherzykowych. Z kolei do rozpoznawania struktur rozwarstwionych zastosowano tomograf pojemnościowy. Omówiono wady i zalety obydwóch rozwiązań oraz oszacowano zakres stosowania w oparciu o mapy przepływu.
The paper presents the stand for determination of gas-liquid flow structure. Bubble or laminar flows can be distinguished. The considered phenomenon is rather complicated so it is difficult to create one simple system for structure recognition. The paper presents a measuring system including the optical tomograph for bubble structure identification. For laminar structures the capacitance tomograph is applied. Advantages and disadvantages of both systems are discussed and their application ranges are evaluated according to flow maps.

The aim of this paper is to introduce various convolution algebras associated with a topological groupoid with locally compact fibres. Instead of working with continuous functions on G, we consider functions having a uniformly continuity property on fibres. We assume that the groupoid is endowed with a system of measures (supported on its fibres) subject to the "left invariance" condition in the groupoid sense.
