The conceptual foundations of the theory and practice of the professional formation of the personality in the system of special education are substantiated. The essence of the given training is considered in various ways, on the basis of which its qualitative and classification characteristics, levels and systemic and structural components are determined; the content, organizational and pedagogical conditions and criteria for assessing the levels of formation of these components aredefined. The following components of professional training are defined: professional and motivational, cognitive and competence, operational and active, productive and reflexive. It is indicated that the given structural components are interrelated, interdependent and complementary to each other. Theoretical paradigm is scientifically substantiated, the structural-functional, organizational-didactic model of the system of professional training in the field of special education is developed and tested and the dynamics of the formation of its components according to the results of the implementation of this system is highlighted. Particular attention is paid to finding and developing of the optimal set of methods of its providing, developing programs and definition of developed program’s efficiency. The practical results of scientists’ work in defining spheres are analyzed. The results of the experimental study of the components of the professional readiness to work on a specialty are highlighted. The prospects for further research in the context of improving professional training in the field of special education are outlined.

The paper has two main objectives: the first is to present an overview of the phenomenon of multi-word items in English, and discuss their prevalence in native speaker usage. The second is to discuss how proficient non-native speakers of English, and in particular those who are training to become translators, may benefit from classroom training that increases awareness of the primary role of chunks and other multiword units in native-like speech. It is argued that classroom training may tend to emphasise grammar rules and lexis over building a repertoire of multi-word items; more practise in this area may improve fluency, conserve energy, and enhance long-term language learning among adult foreign language users with nuanced foreign language performance goals.

Opis:
The aim of this paper was to evaluate the scope of influence a modified circuit training of endurance and strength character, carried out in line with an original programme, on the selected physiological parameters. 30 volunteers who train in fitness clubs in Kraków on an everyday basis were selected by means of purposeful selection to participate in the research. This group was divided into two subgroups. One of them used an experimental programme of circuit training, the other took part in the same training programmes they had used so far. After six weeks the two groups were subjected to research. Heart rate and blood lactate levels were measured. Heart rate monitors were used to measure heart rate. Research results show that the proposed training programme is carried out at a high intensity level, which is indicated by the recorded heart rate and blood lactate levels. The research programme carried out with the use of the circuit training positively influences fundamental physiological parameters; average and maximal heart rate frequency were lowered, energy expenditure in the course of the training was lowered; blood lactate levels after the training were reduced as well and post-exercise restitution was increased. The proposed form of training can be an example of physical activity of significant health-oriented advantages.

Opis:
Virtual Classes (VCs) make up a pedagogical tool taking advantage of the idea of remote interpreting and videoconferencing for simulations of interpreting. At present, the Institute of Applied Linguistics, University of Warsaw, is the only interpreter training center in Poland to offer such a blended learning model. The aim of this paper is to present the findings of a longitudinal study based on observations of various stages of VCs in which both the trainers and trainees have been involved. The material for the study consists of the author’s field notes from observations, including the trainers’ and trainees’ opinions, as well as written documents in the form of draft scripts prepared for each VC. The results of the study show that VCs make up an effective component of a blended learning model. Although they cannot replace face-to-face training, they provide both professional and pedagogical opportunities for the trainees. Furthermore, VCs are associated with organizational, technical, and pedagogical effort on the part of the trainers. In general, an overwhelming need for development of this component as contributing to innovative interpreter training should be underlined, as well as for further research in the field.

It also applies to the process of the formation of the student to the broader safety culture, which creates and maintains all attitudes and actions to protect the health and life. The law on the education system for the dissemination of knowledge among youth about safety and the development of appropriate attitudes towards risks, however, it seems that this system is not sufficient. Central Institute for labour protection-materials developed a “culture of safety”, which constitute an invaluable added value in the process of training students at all levels of school education.

The lack of knowledge of a foreign language for specific purposes and the increasing internationalization of domestic markets cause many communicative difficulties at the corporate level. Inefficient communication slows down decision-making processes and lowers the quality of services offered. In this respect, soft skills are gaining more and more importance in professional environments. Considering the need for providing a high level of foreign language even at the interview level, the idea of soft skills oriented LSP teaching can close the existing gap in employee training and enhance employees’ chances for success in an international environment. This article presents results of a survey conducted among LSP teachers in Poland.

Opis:
The article describes essential observations and research analysis which resulted from joint actions between educators of penitentiary training centers in Poland and Norway. This is a summary of the report The effects of bilateral cooperation between Polish and Norwegian penitentiary education centers (Andersen et al., 2015). Training schemes in the prison services touch very peculiar areas of education, where there are not many researches describing this subject, and even fewer comparisons describing tasks and training models of two penitentiary systems. Thus this paper presents the research which is probably being the only one joint attempt of examining two systems of trainings for prison service in Poland and Norway. The general conclusion resulting from the researched material is that the use of e-learning in Norwegian penitentiary system trainings is backed up by greater experience which is obviously noticeable, while the respondents of both penitentiary institutions have the same and decent views about blended-learning.

The paper presents the results of a telecollaborative project between BA students of the University of Warsaw and students of the University of Valladolid within the framework of the European Erasmus+ EVALUATE project. The aim of that project is to justify the effectiveness of telecollaborative activities for professional development of future language teachers. The experience confirms that initial intercultural competence is essential for undertaking such a project. It also validates the need for blending professional preparation of language teachers so that they realize that the teaching methods and pedagogical approaches which are introduced in their pre-service courses are very similar or even the same irrespectively where they get their qualifications. Such blended learning activities are complementary to national teacher training programs and to Erasmus+ students exchange projects.

The text characterizes this model and describes the specifics of outdoor training as an activity created to improve participants’ soft skills by engaging them in simulation being an outdoor experience and in facilitated discussion about these experiences. The differences between outdoor training and adventure education activities concerning goals, role of instructor, education stimulus, and scope of evaluation are described. Additionally, the text compares the standards of Polish adventure education activities and the standards presented in two samples of articles from the Journal of Experiential Education.
