    Artykuł stanowi praktyczną ilustrację wspierającej roli superwizji stosowanej w publicznym systemie pomocy w profilaktyce krzywdzenia dzieci. Autorzy przedstawiają przykład kliniczny poprzedzony kilkoma uwagami dotyczącymi ogólnego znaczenia superwizji w obszarze pomocy psychologicznej oraz krótkim przeglądem badań dotyczących superwizji, zwłaszcza w publicznych systemach wspierania dzieci. Według autorów zewnętrzna pozycja superwizora pozwala w refleksyjny sposób przyjrzeć się sytuacji dziecka z kilku perspektyw jednocześnie, co umożliwia zaplanowanie skuteczniejszych i lepiej dopasowanych interwencji służących dziecku i ochronie jego bezpieczeństwa.
    This paper is a practical illustration of a supportive role of supervision in child protection public services. Authors present a clinical example supplemented with some remarks about general role of supervision in psychological help and a brief review of selected research on supervision, specifically in public child protection services. Authors claim that the external position of supervisor allows for reflexive, simultaneous consideration of child’s situation from various perspectives, what leads to a more effective and better suited interventions aimed at children well-being and safety.

    The article presents the results of a survey on the perception of the psychosocial school environment and school functioning of lower secondary school students with and without chronic conditions. Students of grades 1–3 (N = 4,058) from randomly selected 234 public lower secondary schools from all voivodships participated in the survey. In this group 3,232 (80%) students were healthy and 798 (20%) had different chronic conditions. The anonymous “Health and school” questionnaire was used as the instrument for data collections with questions from HBSC study (Health Behaviour in School-aged Children) and from CHIP–AE Questionnaire (Child Health and Illness Profile: Adolescent Edition). Based on Urie Bronfenbrenner’s ecological model, dimensions of psychosocial school environment were analysed on the individual level (microsystem) and the social relations level (mesosystem). It was found that healthy students, in comparison with those with chronic conditions, perceived school environment and their functioning at school better. They have: a larger sense of school belonging, higher level of school competencies and achievements, larger sense that their grades are adequate to the results, a higher social position in the class and a higher level of support from peers, teachers and parents. Students with chronic conditions have higher level of workload, stress and problems associated with the school, and they also spend more time on homework. These students (about 20% of the population of school age) have special educational needs which depend on the specificity and the course of the disease. Identification of difficult areas in the functioning of chronically ill students in the school and knowledge of their perception of their school’s psychosocial environment will allow teachers to provide them with appropriate support.

    Artykuł dotyczy wybranych aspektów funkcjonowania w szkole i trudności szkolnych uczniów edukacji wczesnoszkolnej w percepcji rodziców oraz ich retrospektywnej oceny własnych doświadczeń z tego okresu. Badania przeprowadzono wśród 99 rodziców za pomocą ankiety. Przedmiotem analiz było porównanie cech rodziców i ich dzieci, analiza specyfiki trudności szkolnych oraz uwarunkowań nieprawidłowych zachowań, a także nastawienia dziecka i rodziców do szkoły. Badania potwierdziły istotne znaczenie transmisji pokoleniowej, gdy bierzemy pod uwagę specyfikę zachowań w szkole i trudności w nauce.
    This article concerns selected aspects of school functioning and school learning difficulties for early childhood education students in perception of their parents and their retrospective evaluation of their own experiences from that period. The study was conducted among 99 parents using a questionnaire. The purpose of the analyzes was to compare the features of parents and their children, analyze the specificities of school difficulties and the conditions of abnormal behaviours, as well as the attitudes of children and parents towards school. Studies have confirmed the importance of generational transmission when we take into account the specificities of school behaviour and learning disabilities.

    The paper attempts to expound upon the actual and statutory role of lay judges in the process of adjudication. A theoretical model was confronted with the practice of making judicial determinations. The authors analysed the state of the law on the matter and the functions of lay judges accorded thereto by the legislator. In addition, as a result of extensive sociological-legal studies, a typology of the moments of composing a judgment (i.e. during deliberations; in between cases; conversations with prosecutors; voluntary acceptance of liability (plea bargain)) and of types of deliberations present in Polish courts (deliberation without deliberation, deliberation dominated by the judge, deliberation pro forma, the ideal type, deliberation and a discussion – bargaining) is described.

    In this article the author presents inclusive education as a policy, which in recent decades has often been viewed as a moral imperative. She presents this issue in a dichotomous choice: either full inclusion or special education. This chapter joins other voices in arguing for a more nuanced approach to inclusive practice. One that demands better quality research on which to base decisions and puts student needs and goals above blanket policies that are applied indiscriminately. The author oncludes future research also needs to remediate current limitations of research of the efficacy and effectiveness of inclusive education including: limited comparison or control groups, weak research designs, no measures of treatment fidelity, lack of clarity in the outcome measures (academic, behavioral, adaptive, etc.), limited attention to what the benefits and detriments of inclusion are, variable impact across populations, and to implement more randomized control trials.

    Opis:
    Reforms of the judicial system implemented in Poland in recent years and the rule of law proceedings initiated in their aftermath by the European Commission in January 2016 have contributed to the discussion within the framework of the international scholarly conference “Protecting European Union Values: Breaches of Article 2 TEU and its Consequences” organised by the Chair of European Law, Faculty of Law and Administration, in cooperation with the Max Planck Institute in Heidelberg. Basing on the speeches presented during the conference, in this article authors define the concept of the rule of law as one of the fundamental EU values, as well as analyse the existing violations of the rule of law in other Member States. An attempt was also made to assess the mechanisms protecting the rule of law, which result from the treaties (including Article 7 TEU and Article 258 TFEU), and propose supplementing them with a decentralised rule of law protection mechanism. Such mechanism should engage the whole EU legal system, including national courts, in protecting EU values, as assumed by the concept of “Rule of Law Argument” and the horizontal Solange test. Zmiany w systemie sądownictwa dokonywane w Polsce na przestrzeni ostatnich lat oraz będące ich konsekwencją postępowanie w sprawie praworządności wszczęte przez Komisję Europejską w styczniu 2016 roku stały się przyczynkiem do dyskusji naukowej w ramach międzynarodowej konferencji naukowej pt.: „Protecting European Union Values: Breaches of Article 2 TEU and their Consequences” zorganizowanej przez Katedrę Prawa Europejskiego WPiA UW we współpracy z Instytutem Maksa Plancka w Heidelbergu. Na tle zaprezentowanych podczas konferencji wystąpień w artykule zdefiniowano pojęcie praworządności, jako jednej z fundamentalnych wartości unijnych, a także dokonano analizy dotychczasowych naruszeń praworządności w innych państwach członkowskich. Podjęto także próbę oceny mechanizmów ochrony praworządności wynikających z traktatów (m.in. art. 7 TUE oraz art. 258 TFUE) i zaproponowano uzupełnienie ich o zdecentralizowany mechanizm ochrony praworządności polegający na zaangażowaniu całego systemu prawnego UE, w tym sądów krajowych w ochronę unijnych wartości, jaki zakładają koncepcja „Rule of Law Argument” oraz horyzontalny test Solange
