Opis:: The age of secondary orality, in which the oral and literate ways of thinking collide with each other, influences the communicative styles of today’s youth. One of the visible phenomena related to the language of teenagers is their progressing inability to acquire skills required to use written texts, together with the resulting cognitive and social consequences. In this article, the author discusses the impact of cultural factors on the development of youth literacy. The analyses, based on observations of the linguistic behaviour of lower secondary school students, show that young people are firmly anchored in the current communicative communities immersed in the digital world.

Opis:: The purpose of this article is to analyse news in the contemporary news media from the perspective of linguistic description. Among the factors which determine the structure of news stories and their language, such phenomena should be mentioned as the process of media convergence, internetization, celebritization and tabloidization of journalism, “decay / corruption” of news, as well as infotainment and politainment. To meet the need for attractiveness, a sender may introduce linguistically resonant phrases with the idiomatic potential into the structure of news. Other mechanisms prompting the recipient to read the news – manipulation markers – can also include key words and persuasive constructions introduced in the structure of the news.

Opis:: The article considers the impact of organizational culture to make changes in organizations in the context of the application of new concepts and models of organizational structures. It seems that the stated range of „opening” of organizational culture in the offi ces of the municipalities may be a factor supporting the making organizational changes.
