Opis:
This paper explores the possibilities created by modern technologies to prevent bullying and antisocial behaviors. The live of modern generations is inseparable from the mass media and advanced ICT. In this context, anti-social and pro-social behavior of young people was shown and defined. Then, a review was made how new technologies can be used in (cyber)bullying prevention and interventions strategies. Technology-based solutions were divided into two groups: (1) preventative solutions and therefore applicable before bullying occurs and (2) reactive solutions, which are aimed at helping victim, bystanders and others to deal with bullying. Some of presented activities are an extension of the activities already known in the field of peer violence prevention from the face to face context to the online environment. The examples of technology-based solutions presented in the text have a different degree of complexity. In some cases, they boil down to one simple operation, in another they mean long-term conduct. Based on the information presented in this article, the conclusion is that new technologies may be used in raising awareness about bullying phenomenon, for developing socio-emotional skills and some bullying preventative and reactive solutions. However, these strategies need to be combined with others in a way to build a thoughtful and comprehensive program, as well as more research is needed in this area to verify their real effects

Opis:
In this article, the author, who was a member of the Erasmus+ Count Me In Too project, endeavors to demonstrate that the assistive technology developed within the project provides effective context-aware assistance for people with learning difficulties, for whom the project was aimed. She discusses in detail the intuitive app generator created by eLearning Studios (Coventry, Great Britain), 2 (of 11) training apps designed by Teatr Grodzki (Bielsko-Biala, Poland), and the e-learning modules supplementing the apps, with theoretical foundation laid by Eldeberry AB (Hägersten, Sweden). The author shows how personalized IT tools facilitate education and improve job performance of people with disabilities, thus helping them achieve personal and professional success. The partners were, among others, motivated by the fact that European societies and job markets are gradually becoming more inclusive towards people with disabilities. The tools were successfully tested with over 300 learners in Denmark, Hungary, and Poland, and assessed by the project partners and vocational education and training specialists. The research proved that the tools, translated into national languages and forming a bank of educational resources to be followed or adapted by interested users, may inspire teachers, managers, and supervisors, and facilitate vocational training and other types of e-learning.

Polska dysponuje pewnymi możliwościami rozwijania nowoczesnych technologii, także tych, które aktualnie znajdują się w pierwszych fazach cyklu życia (np. nanotechnologii, spintroniki, fizykochemii zjawisk powierzchniowych, robotyki itd.), i mają wysoki potencjał generowania zysku przy relatywnie niskich (bo niezwiązanych z samymi kosztami produkcji) nakładach inwestycyjnych i niższych wymaganiach, jeśli chodzi o wcześniej zdobyte doświadczenie. Wykorzystanie tych możliwości wymaga rozszerzenia o nowe podejścia tradycyjnego instrumentarium zarządzania technologią, opartego głównie na dorobku teorii racjonalnych oczekiwań. Wśród tych nowych podejść na szczególną uwagę zasługuje foresight i towarzyszące mu: cykl życia technologii i mapowanie, które są przedmiotem niniejszego artykułu.

The paper presents four management models of a scientific-technological park built on the basis of the in-depth analysis results of fifteen selected parks in the world. The basic functions of the park were discussed as well as the pros and cons of each model showing the possibilities for their further development. The reference was made to the Polish conditions, indicating that two corporate and network models are the most suitable for Poland. The corporate model based on the active cooperation of technical universities and public and private entities is, according to the authors, the most suitable for use in the case of science and technology parks located near a technical university. The corporate model is an alternative to the network model which allows to create science and technology parks with a dispersed spatial structure.

Development of technoscience and technologies in our times cause a lot of dangers regarding human being. It is happening on an unprecedented scale. Social media can manipulate posts and mediated data. Neuro-science, bio-science and technologies mixed with agencies can lead to manipulation of personal data. Even our brains are in danger because of taking part in computer games. Furthermore, in fact nobody knows how financial markets operate. All this regards people in all the world. These processes are not depending on citizens because are not recognised. Reality is endangered by falsehood: social falsehood. The article shows some of ways can provide stability and clearness in human ethic which oppose these falsehood. This ethic is based on Christian anthropology, in particular two attitudes: solidarity and protest (against badness) in opposite of attitudes conformity and avoidance. Solidarity and protest would ensure security in human ambience, eliminate unfair practices of manipulation, especially in virtual life. In view of technoscience and technologies only return to basic of human existence arouse hope for develop of human being. In spite of this anthropology which is real and positive answer for these dangers everyone have to find exit from these dangerous situations by myself.

Opis:
Zadanie to podjęto w artykule, w którym zaprezentowano „słabą” i „bardzo silną” wersję twierdzenia o magistrali w niestacjonarnej gospodarce von Neumanna z technologią zbieżną do pewnej technologii granicznej.
The vast majority of papers on the turnpike theory consider a stationary economy with constant technology (over time). There are only few attempts to go beyond the „vicious circle” of stationarity and to trace the so called turnpike effect in a non-stationary Neumann-Gale economy with unstable technology. This article undertakes this task. In the paper „weak” and „very strong” versions of the turnpike theorem in a non-stationary von Neumann economy are presented, with the technology converging to a certain technology limit.

Opis:
This paper refers to a selected fragment in an ethnographic study on children’s subjectivization processes through digital technologies concerning children’s interaction with the digital world and how their different cultural tendencies reflect virtual space. Children’s digital world experiences, and their new media preferences have become an important part of their peer culture. Studies on children’s peer cultures and on the effects of technological devices on human beings commenced in the 1990s within various disciplines, for example, Aarsand studied children’s interest in computer games, while Turkle focused on human-machine relations. During the 2000s, virtual space changed the trajectories of those studies into other fields. However, studies focusing on people’s interaction with technology have rarely been directly related to children’s agency, or the sociology of childhood. Therefore, this research presents a new approach to childhood studies by using traditional concepts with changing perspectives. The main purpose of this study is to reveal how children’s peer cultures and also individual agencies have been shaped through digital technologies including online activities. For this whole study, various techniques were used to analyse children’s interactions with the virtual world by focusing on their opinions regarding technological development in the world. The parts selected for this paper are based on several clips of interviews, the topics of which are: freedom in virtual space in a comparison with real – virtual worlds on the basis of their limit(less)ness; the possible relations between humans and machines; the possibilities of surviving on ‘internetlessness’; children’s relations with online games according to social media preferences, and interaction with virtual spaces in general.

Opis:
This paper examines the pattern of convergence in labour productivity across regions due to their ability to adopt technology. Whether regions exhibit a pattern of convergence depends on the degree to which infrastructure conditions are appropriate for the adoption of technological improvements. The ability of a region to adopt or create technology is reflected in the percentage of its labour force employed in technologically dynamic sectors or, more generally, in the resources devoted to science and technology. A high percentage of labour employed in technologically advanced sectors leads a region to a pattern of convergence. This hypothesis is tested using data for the NUTS-2 regions of the EU-27 during the time period 1995-2006. The results suggest that adoption of technology has a significant and positive effect on regional convergence in Europe. The analysis is also shown to have important implications for the direction of regional policy in Europe. To be more specific, regional policies, in order to enhance regional growth and convergence, should encourage employment in advanced technological sectors.

Technology and innovation belong to most important factors stimulating competitiveness in the microeconomic and regional level. The aim of the paper is to analyze and evaluate the level of innovation and technological competitiveness of the Region of Lodz in comparison to other regions of Poland. In the paper several groups of high–tech products were taken into consideration, with special reference to: aerospace, computers-office machines, electronics-telecommunications, pharmacy, scientific instruments, electrical machinery, non-electrical machinery, chemistry, armament. Region of Łódź for several years has been taking the 6 th position at the economic map of the Polish regions. However, the level of internationalization of the region of Łódź is not high since as far as the share of export in GDP is concerned, the region of Łódź takes only 14 th position in the country. From the point of view of high technology products’ position in export, the region of Łódź was taking 11 th position in the year 2004 among the Polish regions, while in the year 2005 it dropped to the 12 position. The same position [meaning 12] the region of Łódź took also in export of ultrahigh technology products.

In the 20th century, the right to obtain information started to appear in legal regulations worldwide. The 1990’s brought development of the right to information in countries of Central and Eastern Europe. In many countries, including Poland, the right to information was written down in the constitution. At the same time, the expanding information resources, mainly from the Internet, make it more and more difficult to search information which would allow to prepare a basis for effective and accurate decisions in a complex way. What is more, development of trade and economic contacts forces constant activity of companies not only in the strictly business field but also in the access to information on competitors, outlets, technological novelties, and new studies. These situations create the necessity of implementing complex information management along with legal and ethical regulations. The transparently shaped structure of complex information management will allow to execute tasks in the atmosphere of a high level of public trust.
