    The article attempts to delineate the core of the metaphysical thought of Thomas Aquinas consisting in overcoming Platonism and Aristotelianism. By following the teaching of great European Thomists of the 20th century, Etienne Gilson and Cornelio Fabro, the author tries to summarize that which, according to him, seems to constitute the core content of Thomistic metaphysics, especially its turn to the theme of being. He also refers to selected critical texts of more recent Anglo-Saxon Thomists, such as Lawrence Dewan and Stephen Brock, who call for more attention to the subject of essence. By doing so, the author considers the notion of being consisted of essence and existence, the questions of ontological difference and real distinction, the relationship between the finite and the infinite, and also the linkage between causality and participation.

    Este artículo analiza las representaciones sociales que difundió la prensa escrita de las prime-ras mujeres que ocuparon curules en la Asamblea Legislativa de Costa Rica. La elección de esas diputadas introdujo un cambio en los actores políticos y constituyó un reto para los me-dios de comunicación al encontrar a nuevas protagonistas en el escenario político. La estrate-gia metodológica de este trabajo incluye el análisis de contenido cuantitativo y el análisis críti-co del discurso. El corpus lo conforman crónicas, entrevistas, noticias y editoriales que fueron publicados en La República y Diario de Costa Rica durante el lustro 1953-1958. Se halló una escasa representación mediática de las legisladoras producto de la convergencia de varios fac-tores. Por un lado, ese período se caracterizó por una intensa efervescencia política que se trasladó a la producción periodística. En la prensa se buscaba distinguir a los buenos hombres de los malos hombres. Esa práctica situó a los varones como actores centrales; las diputadas fueron citadas si coincidían con la línea editorial del medio, de lo contrario, hubo silencios y omisiones. Además del uso del genérico masculino, la descripción privilegió la dicotomía “nosotros-ellos”. Se hallaron estereotipos, creencias, opiniones, actitudes e ideologías de gé-nero. Hubo apreciaciones cargadas de subjetividad, empleo de adjetivos elogiosos que perpe-tuaron atributos estereotipados. Se reprodujeron roles asociados a la maternidad y se las des-cribió en relación con vínculos familiares, como madres y esposas.
    This paper analyzes the social representations disseminated by the newspapers about the first women who occupied seats in the Legislative Assembly of Costa Rica. The election of three deputies printed a change in the political actors and constituted a challenge for the media that found new protagonists in the political scene. The methodological approach used the Quantita-tive content analysis and the critical analysis of discourse. Stereotypes, beliefs, opinions, atti-tudes and gender ideologies were found. The corpus is made up of chronicles, interviews, news and editorials that were published in La República and Diario de Costa Rica, during the lustrum 1953-1958. The sparse media representation of the deputies was due to several fac-tors: the 1950s inherited the political tension that triggered the Civil War of 1948, consequent-ly, the description of the events privileged the dichotomy "we-them" (Van Dijk, 1992), the in-tention was to distinguish good men from bad men, according to the optic of the newspaper. This practice placed men as central actors; the women deputies were cited if they coincided with the editorial line of the media, otherwise there were silences and omissions. In addition to the use of the male generic, there were appreciations loaded with subjectivity, the use of com-plimentary adjectives perpetuated stereotyped attributes. Roles associated with motherhood were reproduced, described in relation to family ties, such as mothers and wives.

    El objetivo de esta investigación es indicar los principales determinantes socioeconómicos de la participación electoral en Nuevo León de 2009 al 2018, tomando en cuenta la distribución espacial de las variables a nivel municipal. Debido a la presencia de dependencia espacial en los datos electorales y socioeconómicos, se hace un análisis de regresión donde se modela este componente espacial. Como resultado principal del análisis de regresión espacial, se encuentra que para todos los periodos electorales analizados, un grado de marginación alta impacta positivamente el nivel de participación electoral para un año determinado.
    The objective of this research is to indicate the main socioeconomic determinants of electoral participation in Nuevo León from 2009 to 2018, taking into account the spatial distribution of the variables at the municipal level. Due to the presence of spatial dependence in the electoral and socioeconomic data, a regression analysis is performed where this spatial component is modeled. As the main result of the spatial regression analysis, it is found that for all the electoral periods analyzed, a high degree of marginalization positively impacts the level of electoral participation for a given year.

    Opis:
    Women in Mexico have faced a series of obstacles in entering the decision-making sphere. It was evidenced in the 2017–2018 electoral process where gender-based political violence made visible the frameworks of the political system which undermines the rights of women and sex-generic diversities. In this article we return to the case of trans or muxe candidates, as well as the massive resignations of the so-called “manuelitas”. Both cases allow us to reflect on the challenges and setbacks in the substantive advancement of women.
    Las mujeres en México se han enfrentado a una serie de obstáculos y dificultades para incorporarse a los espacios de toma de decisiones, lo cual se evidenció en el proceso electoral 2017–2018 en donde la violencia política por razones de género visibilizó los entramados de un sistema político que atenta contra los derechos de las mujeres y de las diversidades sexo-genéricas. En este artículo retomamos el caso de las candidaturas trans o muxes, asi como las renuncias masivas de mujeres de las llamadas “manuelitas”. Ambos casos nos permiten reflexionar sobre los retos y retrocesos en el avance sustantivo de las mujeres.

    En el presente artículo se efectúa un análisis de la situación jurídica de los pueblos indígenas en Venezuela. En los años 90., la llamada “década de los pueblos indígenas”, aparecieron nuevas formas legales e institucionales en cuanto a la representación y participación de las comunidades indígenas en el marco del funcionamiento de los órganos e instituciones estatales. En la República Bolivariana de Venezuela, los derechos de los pueblos indígenas, garantizados por la Constitución de 1999 y otras leyes promulgadas en los años 2001-2009, se basan en la definición de la nación multiétnica y multicultural. Así pues, está bien fundada la pregunta si la pertenencia a un grupo étnico du-rante la transformación sistémica puede convertirse en el capital político. Por lo tanto, se propone reflexionar sobre las soluciones jurídicas e institucionales así como también los dilemas que aparecen en relación con la representación y participación. Para conseguir los objetivos propuestos se analiza la posición de los pueblos indígenas sobre la base de las normas jurídicas de los años 1999-2009, el alcance y las formas de la representación política y participación de la población indígena en el proceso de la transformación sistémica. Propongo la tesis de que la participación de los pueblos indígenas venezolanos en la actividad del Estado y la co-responsabilidad para su funcionamiento, respetando la soberanía y autonomía de los indios, están con-dicionadas por la evolución del proyecto político del gobierno de Hugo Chávez.
    This article analyzes the legal status of indigenous peoples in Venezuela. From the beginning of the 90's, the so-called “Decade of Indigenous Peoples”, new legal and institutional forms of representation and participation of indigenous population were created within the framework of state entities and institutions. In the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela the rights guaranteed to indigenous peoples by the Constitution of 1999 and other laws promulgated in the years 2001-2009 are based on the definition of a multi-ethnic and multicultural nation. Thus, there arises a question whether belonging to an ethnic group has become political capital during the transformation of the political system. Therefore, the proposal is to reflect upon the implemented legal and institutional solutions as well as the dilemmas that arise in the area of representation and participation. In order to achieve the proposed goals the author analyzes the position of in-digenous peoples on the basis of the legal regulations from the years 1999-2009, as well as the scope and forms of political representation and participation of indigenous population in the process of the political system transformation. In my opinion the parti-cipation of Venezuelan indigenous peoples in the activity of the State and their co-responsibility for its functioning, as well as respecting sovereignty and autonomy of Native Americans, are conditioned by the evolution of the Hugo Chávez government's political project.

    El proceso sinodal en marcha (XVI Asamblea general ordinaria: Por una Iglesia sinodal: comunión, participación y misión), que comenzó el octubre de 2021 y culminará en el mismo mes de 2024, está impulsando una amplia participación de los fieles en los sínodos, a partir de las Iglesias particulares. En cuanto a su objetivo concreto, se trata de la reflexión sobre la sinodalidad y su ejercicio en torno a las asambleas sinodales. En este artículo se explora la sinodalidad como dimensión constitutiva de la Iglesia y lo que esto significa en la práctica. Profundiza en la cooperación orgánica entre pastores y fieles, como fundamento de la participación de los bautizados en los sínodos. Se detiene en algunos aspectos concretos de los sínodos: su servicio a la comunión y a la misión, como instrumento de discernimiento de la “fidelidad dinámica” que caracteriza el camino de la Iglesia; la adecuación de un itinerario que vaya de las periferias al centro; las actitudes propias de quienes participan en un sínodo; y las dimensiones teológico-pastorales del sínodo. Todo ello, teniendo en cuenta la experiencia de la Iglesia y la reflexión actual.
    Trwający proces synodalny (XVI Zwyczajne Zgromadzenie Ogólne: Ku Kościołowi synodalnemu: komunia, uczestnictwo i misja), rozpoczęty w październiku 2021 r. i mający się zakończyć w październiku roku 2024, zachęca wiernych do szerokiego udziału w synodach, poczynając od kościołów partykularnych. Wymiernym celem synodu jest refleksja nad synodalnością i jej realizacją podczas zgromadzeń synodalnych. W artykule poruszona jest kwestia synodalności jako elementu budującego Kościół i jej praktycznego znaczenia. Autor szczegółowo analizuje współpracę między duszpasterzami i wiernymi, leżącą u podstaw uczestnictwa osób ochrzczonych w synodach, a także konkretne aspekty synodów: ich posługa dla wspólnoty i misji – jako narzędzie służące rozeznaniu „dynamicznej wierności” cechującej drogę Kościoła, zasadność pokonania drogi od peryferii do centrum, postawy właściwe dla uczestników synodu oraz teologiczno-pastoralne wymiary synodu. Wszystkie te rozważania uwzględniają doświadczenie Kościoła i aktualne refleksje.
    The ongoing synodal process (16th Ordinary General Assembly: For a Synodal Church: Communion, Participation and Mission), which began in October 2021 and will culminate in the same month of 2024, is encouraging a broad participation of the faithful in the synods, starting from the particular Churches. In terms of its concrete objective, it is a reflection on synodality and its exercise around synodal assemblies. This article explores synodality as a constitutive dimension of the Church and its meaning in practice. It delves into the organic cooperation between pastors and faithful as the basis for the participation of the baptised in synods. It looks at some specific aspects of synods: their service in favour of communion and mission, as an instrument of discernment of the “dynamic fidelity” which characterises the Church's journey; the appropriateness of a journey from the peripheries to the centre; the attitudes proper to those who participate in a synod; and the theological-pastoral dimensions of the synod. All this, taking into account the experience of the Church and the current reflection.
