    The article analyzes the problem of studies of Russian literature in the context of post-Renaissance processes in world, especially in Europe. The Enlightenment program was aimed at undermining the earlier culture and the construction of a new type of culture, in which the centre of attention was the experience of individuals not corrupted by civilization and Christian morality. The apogee of this cult of the creative «I» lies in the romanticism of his titanic «rebellion» against God. But Russian literature, as well as other Eastern Slavic literature, is based on the Christian books, which were its original sources. The secularization of culture after Peter I was aimed to destroy this base. However it was preserved and eventually evolved into the idea of communist totalitarianism. Therefore, the realization of the Enlightenment project – the creation of popular culture in Russia was particularly devastating. Russian classic output stems from the Christian tradition. It should be recognized that the artistic word cannot properly «educate», which is the function of didactic or sacred books.

    Opis:
    The paper substantiates the relevance of the study of universal creative personality in the typological aspect and the need to involve in such study of psychological resources. The author described the main provisions of Alexei Leontiev’s activity theory of personality, because it most meets the needs of this study. The purpose of the paper is to reveal the methodological basis for the study of the universal creative personality. The researcher relies on the statement of A. Leontiev that the real basis of personality forms the system of its activities. Thus, she argues that in the study of the universal creative personality it is necessary to appreciate the development of personality activity, its specific types and forms and connections between them. The researcher chose the leading subject activity as the main criterion for the typology of the universal creative personality. She attracted to study William Stern’s concept of the psychological type and Nina Herasymova-Persydska’s musical type to determine the shape and quality of the universal creative personality. The author described the essence of the proposed typological approach and the conceptual- terminological apparatus of the study. In particular, she identified six simple types of universal creative personality – universal-composer, universal-performer, universalmusicologist, universal-public figure, universal-pedagogue and classical universal. According to O. Komenda, the universal creative personality combines at least three types of activities. The leading activity of musician is marked of large scale, duration, value in the eyes of the artist and his environment, the emergence of new types of activities and the restructuring of creative processes. In conclusion, the researcher described the method of typological analysis of the universal creative personality.

    The article is an attempt to present the characteristics of Russian and Polish verbs with the meaning of the excessive intensity of action in a possibly concise form. The analyzed lexical units have been retrieved from Russian and Polish dictionaries on the basis of the existing source literature and the author’s own investigations. The aim  of the article is to compare the word formative structure of the verbs and analyze their semantics on the basis of the prefixes occurring in the lexical material. The quantitative and qualitative analyses have been conducted. The cases of word-formative synonymy have been described and the largest groups of lexical synonyms have been highlighted.

    Andrei Bolotov (1738–1833) was one of the most prolific writers of the 18th and early 19th centuries, although much of his heritage remained unpublished. In the subsequent critical and scholarly literature the assessments of his works vary from enthusiastic to derogatory. But the reputation of a graphomaniac, one that stuck with Bolotov, is largely due to the difference in the perception of a literary work in the 18th and the subsequent centuries. On basis of Bolotov’s memoirs, as well as a number of archival sources, now first made available for scholarly enquiry, the article analyses Bolotov’s reflection on the writing process itself and his attitude to his own works, not only as fruits of his creativity, but also as material objects. Such an attitude is characteristic of his epoch and rooted in the earlier tradition of Old Russian booklore.
    А. Т. Болотов (1738–1833) был одним из самых плодовитых литераторов XVIII – начала XIX столетия, хотя значительная часть его наследия осталась неопубликованной. В последующей критической и научной литературе оценки его трудов разнятся от восторженных до уничижительных. Но репутация графомана, закрепившаяся за Болотовым, во многом обусловлена разницей восприятия литературного творчества в XVIII и последующих столетиях. На материале мемуаров Болотова, а также на базе ряда архивных источников, впервые вводимых в научный оборот, в cтатье анализируется рефлексия Болотова по поводу самого процесса письма и его отношение к собственным произведениям, не только как к плодам творчества, но и как к материальным объектам, во многом характерное для его эпохи и восходящее к более ранней традиции древнерусской книжности.

    Opis:
    The article is devoted to the question of changing the content of modern television advertising. The author examines the linguistic and content features of advertising texts in terms of their key meanings. The conclusion about the emergence of a specific form of advertising, both social and commercial, substantiates the priority of the social component in advertising copy compared to the commercial component, which is of secondary character. It is argued that contemporary television advertising provides a new educational function, while the author defines the basic cognitive and pragmatic mechanisms for the implementation of this function.

    The author shows the connection between the language and style of the press and the social conditions of its functioning and the typological features of the edition.The article offers the methodology of sociolinguistic analysis of newspaper with respect to its orientation towards its audience.The typological features of the language modelof the edition are found in headings, titles and the body of the text. The stylistic unity of the heading, the tytle and the text contains the semantic code of the edition and marksthe level of the joumalists' professionalism.

    Artykuł poświęcony jest problemowi analfabetyzmowi funkcjonalnemu, będącemu całkowicie nową formą ryzyka cywilizacyjnego. Rozpatrywany jest związek danej charakterystyki współczesnej osobowości jako nowego rodzaju człowieka, kształtowanego dziś przez społeczeństwo i system edukacji, z procesem globalizacji, pod którego wpływem dokonała się całkowita transformacja klasycznej szkoły rosyjskiej. Analizowane są podobieństwa między niektórymi cechami człowieka, w tym także analfabetyzm funkcjonalny, jako typowe cechy statystycznego reprezentanta młodego pokolenia i modelem osobowości przyszłości opisanej w pracach B. Russella. Przytaczane są dane badania eksperymentalnego potwierdzające, że zaplanowane w połowie XX wieku typy osobowości w chwili obecnej stają się rzeczywistością, a formowane dziś charakterystyki psychologiczne są typowymi czechami proli opisanych w słynnej powieści G. Orwella. Wysuwane są argumenty podtrzymujące punkt widzenia, że istnieje ścisły związek między aktywnie przenikającym w społeczeństwo rosyjskie modelem człowieka i koncepcją zderzenia cywilizacji, zaproponowanej przez S. Huntingtona.
    This article discusses the problem of functional illiteracy as a new form of civilisation risk. A new type of human being with specific personality characteristics, shaped by society and the education system, is considered in relation to the globalisation process under the influence of which the total transformation of the classical Russian school has taken place. Similarities between the functional illiteracy of the modern young generation and the model of the future man described in Bertrand Russell’s works are discussed. The research shows that the personality characteristics suggested in the 20th century are becoming a reality. The author draws an analogy between the distinguishing features of a human being belonging to the future, which are regarded as the basic ones in a modern society, and the main needs and interests of proles described by George Orwell in his famous novel. The author advances the argument that there is a close relationship between the model of a human being that is penetrating Russian society and the concept of a clash of civilisations as discussed by Samuel Huntington.
