The paper presents construction of Perceptions of Parenting Styles Questionnaire in its two versions: PPSQ-M (perception of mother’s parenting style) and PPSQ-F (perception of father’s parenting style). The questionnaire is used for diagnosis of parenting style (delegating, selling, participating, telling) and the flexibility in the use of parenting style of parents in the perception of their children (children in school age to emerging adulthood). The questionnaire is based on the theoretical framework of Hersey and Campbell (1999) and the questionnaire for parents – Parenting Styles by Hersey and Campbell in Polish adaptation by Hornowska (2007). Several steps of constructing the questionnaire as well as its psychometric characteristics have been presented. The questionnaire obtained satisfactory results during reliability analysis using Cronbach’s method.

The issues broached by the article concern the interdependence of social roles assumed by adults. From the point of view of optimal conditions for offspring development, the level of adults’ involvement in parenting tasks and the degree to which the involvement depends on their professional and marital satisfaction is signifi cant. It is assumed, that involvement in the role of a mother or father has an effect on the functioning of both adults and their children, nalogous to professional involvement, which yields individual (shaping abilities and self esteem) and supra- individual (affecting an organisation’s efficiency) consequences. The article presents an attempt at an operationalization of involvement in parenting and the results of the relationships of the aforementioned adult activity areas. The research indicates that the exposed dependency is based on a correlation between both the overall marital satisfaction as well as its individual aspects. Whereas linear regression analysis indicates that the relationship between self-fulfi lment in a marriage, spouse intimacy and involvement in parenting is not statistically signifi cant. Also the level of marital disillusionment does not allow us to forecast adult involvement in parental tasks. The variable pertaining to marital satisfaction signifi cant for parental involvement is spousal similarity. Individuals who see similarities between themselves and their spouse exhibit higher levels of involvement. On the other hand, generalised professional satisfaction is not signifi cant when it comes to parental involvement. Only colleague satisfaction constitutes a significant, albeit weak predictor for parental involvement.

Contemporary socio-cultural transformations of family life can be observed in the area of non-specialist parental discourse in terms of both modern parenthood and the celebration of childhood. The new quality in the experience and creation of parenthood is noticeable especially in the communication performed with the help of Web 2.0 tools (which are currently among the most important platforms for the exchange of particularly valued “unscientific” – experience, because it is based on empirical knowledge). Internet messages (entries, posts, comments) create an involved parenting and glorify a small child as a subject of parental efforts in the context of post-hierarchical relationships, but they also serve to profile communities gathered around a superior idea or topic (e.g. eco-mum, modern mother, fitmum, dad in the city, dad at work, etc.). They also endorse the principle of the aestheticisation of everyday life, the messages are filled with linguistic humour and expose a non-standard way of thinking, matching perfectly the main trends of postmodern communication.

W artykule poszukuję odpowiedzi na pytanie, czy rodzicielstwo bliskości jest modelem rodzicielstwa optymalnym z punktu widzenia rozwoju psychospołecznego dziecka. Stawiam hipotezę, zgodnie z którą rodzicielstwo bliskości jest modelem rodzicielstwa zapewniającym prawidłowy rozwój psychospołeczny dziecka, jeśli stosujący jego zasady rodzice w pierwszej kolejności kierują się dobrem dziecka, rodzicielską oceną jego możliwości i potrzeb, by to do nich dostosowywać wytyczne sugerowane przez autorów koncepcji rodzicielstwa bliskości, nie zaś odwrotnie. Celem jest zatem przedstawienie koncepcji rodzicielstwa bliskości, opracowanej przez Williama i Marthę Searsów. Za punkt wyjścia uznałam przedstawienie ogólnych założeń teorii przywiązania, której autorzy podkreślają, iż relacja między rodzicem a dzieckiem − już od pierwszych chwil jego życia − stanowi istotny stymulator rozwoju psychospołecznego dziecka. Omawiam również kategorię rodzicielstwa bliskości wraz z jego siedmioma filarami − jako praktyczną odpowiedź na wezwanie do podejmowania opieki i wychowania potomstwa opartych na budowaniu silnej i trwałej więzi rodzica z dzieckiem. Następnie, poddając próbie pedagogicznej oceny modelu rodzicielstwa bliskości, omawiam zarówno jego pozytywne aspekty, jak i te negatywne.
In this article, I am trying to answer the question: is Attachment Parenting an optimal parenting model for child's psychosocial development? I am posing a hypothesis: Attachment Parenting is a parenting model that will assure child's proper psychosocial development providing its parents head for child’s weal in the first instance, they evaluate child’s abilities and needs and customize the Attachment Parenting’s methods to these needs, not the reverse. The aim of this article is to present Attachment Parenting, that was devised by William and Martha Sears. I took presenting the general postulates of attachment theory, which claims that parent-child relation creates a child's psychosocial development, as a starting point. Moreover, I discuss `Attachment Parenting' with its seven ideals as a practical response to an appeal for engaging in care and upbringing of children based on the strong and permanent bond between a parent and a child. Subsequently, I am trying to submit the Attachment Parenting model to pedagogical estimation, discussing its positives and negatives.

Niniejszy artykuł przedstawia problematykę związaną ze stylami wychowania doświadczanymi w dzieciństwie oraz religijnością w dorosłości. Rodzina jako naturalne i pierwsze środowisko rozwoju dziecka ma wpływ na kształtowanie wzorców zachowań w późniejszym życiu. Artykuł składa się z czterech części. Dwie pierwsze części są rozważaniami teoretycznymi a dwie kolejne badawczymi. W części teoretycznej opisana została problematyka stylów wychowania: demokratycznego, autorytarnego, liberalno-kochającego i liberalno-niekochającego oraz religijność. Trzecia część przedstawia zasadniczy problemem artykułu, którym jest poszukiwanie odpowiedzi na podstawowe pytania: czy istnieją korelaty stylów wychowania doświadczanych w dzieciństwie i religijności osób dorosłych? oraz które style wychowania współistnieją, wiążą się najmocniej z religijnością w życiu osób dorosłych? W celu zbadania tej rzeczywistości wykorzystano dwa kwestionariusze: Analizy Stylu Wychowania w Rodzinie. Rodzina Pochodzenia Marii Ryś oraz Skala Centralności Religijności Stefana Hubera. Ostatnia czwarta część jest analizą otrzymanych wyników. Uzyskane wyniki umożliwiają zaobserwowanie pewnej kierunkowości i współwystępowania stylu wychowania z czynnikami religijności. Zaprezentowane rozważania teoretyczne oraz wynikająca z nich analiza empiryczna dotycząca religijności w świetle doświadczanych stylów wychowania okazują się ważne zarówno w sensie społecznym jak i duszpasterskim.
The article presents the issue of the parenting styles experienced during childhood and the religiousness during adultery. Family, which constitutes the first and natural environment of a child’s development, exerts an impact on shaping the behavior patterns later in life. The article consists of four parts. The first two parts are theoretical considerations and the other two present research. In the theoretical part the author describes the issue of parenting styles: democratic, authoritarian, liberal-loving, liberal-not-loving and religiousness. The third part presents the fundamental problem of the article which is searching for the answers to the main questions: are there any correlates of the parenting styles experienced during childhood and the religiousness during adultery? and which parenting styles coexist and are mostly connected with the religiousness of adults? In order to answer the questions the author applied the two questionnaires: the Parenting Style Analysis. The Family Origin by Maria Ryś and Centrality of Religiosity Scale by Stefan Huber. The last part is the analysis of the results. The data obtained in the research allows one to observe a kind of directionality and the coexistence of the parenting style with religiousness factors. The presented theoretical considerations and the resulting empirical analysis concerning the religiousness in the light of the experienced parenting styles prove to be important in a social sense, as well as the pastoral one.

Poród jest dla dziecka i jego rodziców wydarzeniem szczególnym. Celem badań było uzyskanie informacji od par, które odbyły poród rodzinny, na temat przygotowania do porodu, jego przebiegu oraz kształtowania się więzi rodzicielskich i małżeńskich w kontekście porodu rodzinnego. Materiał i metoda: Badania przeprowadzono wśród 107 par, które uczestniczyły w porodzie rodzinnym. Narzędzie badawcze stanowił autorski kwestionariusz ankiety w dwóch wersjach: (K) – dla kobiet i (M) – dla ojca dziecka. Wyniki: Głównym źródłem informacji o porodzie rodzinnym dla przyszłych rodziców był Internet, czasopisma oraz uczestnictwo w zajęciach szkoły rodzenia. Motywacją do jego odbycia, wskazywaną przez kobiety, było: uzyskanie wsparcia psychicznego (72,89%), chęć bycia z kimś bliskim (41,12%), zapewnienie poczucia bezpieczeństwa (27,10%). Dla mężczyzn obecność przy porodzie powodowana była chęcią udzielenia żonie wsparcia psychicznego (62,61%), przeżycia niezapomnianej chwili (36,44%) oraz bycia z kimś bliskim (26,16%). Wnioski: Poród rodzinny pozytywnie wpływa na relacje małżeńskie oraz zwiększa poczucie bezpieczeństwa wśród rodzących.
Childbrirth is a unique experience in the lives of both the child and its parents. The aim of this research was to obtain information from couples that had experienced a family birth on subject of preparation for its course and the influence of this event on formation of the parental and marital bonds. Material and methods. The research has been carried out amongst 107 couples, which participated in a family birth. The basic research tool consisted of the author's own survey prepared in two versions: (K) for the woman and (M) for the child's father. Results: The Internet, magazines and the participation in a birth school constituted the main source of information for expecting parents. Amongst the main motivations for participating in a family birth indicated by women were: obtaining psychological support (72.89%), the desire to be with someone close to them (41.12%), providing a sense of security (27.10%). For men their presence during birth was connected with psychological support for their wife (62.61%), experience an unforgettable moment (36.44%), be with someone close to them (26.16%). Conclusion: The spouses claimed that participating in a family birth had a beneficial effect on the marital relationships and increases the feeling of safety among parturient.

This article focuses on the challenges faced by single-parent foster families. The scope of problems includes theoretical issues concerning such notions as family and incomplete family. The function of foster family in the light of the Act of 9 June 2011 on family support and foster care system was also presented. The article presents the results of research conducted by the author within the framework of her Bachelor’s thesis. Methodological assumptions of the research were also described and their results were presented on the basis of which conclusions and recommendations were formulated concerning the improvement of the support and health care system as well as the change of attitude in the perception of foster families run by single people.

W artykule zaprezentowano rozważania na temat istoty wychowania zainspirowane dostrzeżeniem niejednoznaczności kategorii stosowanych w psychologii i dotyczących wychowania rodzicielskiego, takich jak styl rodzicielski, styl wychowania, postawa rodzicielska. Wskazano na różnice między wpływem społecznym i rozwojem a wychowaniem oraz na kluczowe właściwości działań wychowawczych (intencjonalność, celowość, procesualność, asymetryczność relacji wychowawczej). Autorka traktuje wychowanie jako długotrwałe i intencjonalne oddziaływanie interpersonalne nastawione na optymalizowanie rozwoju wychowanka. Domeną aktywności wychowawczej jest aktualizowanie potencjału rozwojowego wychowanka. Przyjmując takie założenie zauważa, że nie każde działanie rodzica świadczy o wychowaniu. Jego wpływ może mieć charakter destruktywny z punktu widzenia rozwoju dziecka. Natomiast próba wyjścia poza funkcje opiekuńczo-wychowawcze, z którymi najczęściej jest utożsamiane rodzicielstwo, zaowocowało autorskim ujęciem stylu rodzicielskiego. Omawiany jest on na podstawie złożonej sieci czynników różnicujących wymiary – interpersonalny i intrapsychiczny – doświadczeń rodziców.
The article presents considerations on the essence of education inspired by the perception of the ambiguity of categories used in psychology and concerning parenting, such as parenting style, style of upbringing and parental attitude. In the article, the differences between social influence and development and upbringing as well as key features of educational activities (intentionality, purposefulness, processuality, asymmetry of educational relation) were pointed out. The author treats upbringing as a long-lasting and intentional interpersonal interaction aimed at optimization the development of a pupil. The domain of educational activity is updating the developmental potential. Accepting such an assumption, she notes that not all parenting activities mean upbringing. Its influence can be destructive from the child's development point of view. However, the attempt to go beyond the caring and educational functions with which parenthood is most often identified has resulted in the author's approach to the parenting style. It is discussed on the basis of a complex network of factors differentiating the interpersonal and intrapsychic dimension of the parents' experiences.

W artykule zaprezentowano dwa badania poświęcone empirycznej weryfikacji modelu syntetyzującego różne konstrukty opisujące relacje rodzice–dzieci obecne w literaturze ostatnich dekad. Jest to model wymiarów rodzicielstwa zaprezentowany przez Ellen Skinner i współpracowników (2005). Na podstawie szeroko zakrojonego przeglądu literatury, model ten wyróżnia trzy pary konstruktów: ciepło – odrzucenie, struktura – chaos oraz autonomia – przymus. Model Skinner i współpracowników (2005) miał w zamierzeniu być podstawą syntezy wielu różnych konstruktów opisujących relacje rodzice–dzieci, dlatego też rozróżnialność wyróżnionych w nim konstruktów jest sprawą kluczową. W tym artykule przeprowadziliśmy weryfikację modelu w Polsce. Pierwsze badanie zostało przeprowadzone w grupie 969 dorastających, a drugie w grupie 269 rodziców. Okazało się, że model pomiarowy w grupie adolescentów jest dopasowany do danych, ale konstrukty są ze sobą skorelowane tak wysoko, że podważają zasadność ich wyróżniania. W grupie rodziców wysokie skorelowanie konstruktów doprowadziło do niedopasowania modelu do danych. Oznacza to, że uzyskano w zasadzie jedynie ogólny pomiar jakości relacji rodzic–dzieci. W serii analiz bi-factor podjęto próbę określenia znaczenia czynników specyficznych, generowanych poza czynnikiem ogólnym. Próby te zakończyły się częściowym powodzeniem w grupie dorosłych, w której przygotowano krótką wersję kwestionariusza do pomiaru ciepła, struktury i autonomii.
The article presents two experiments validating the dimensional model of parenting by Skinner, Johnson, and Snyder (2005). This model synthesizes various constructs related to parent-child relations from the recent literature. On the basis of a broad literature review, this model distinguishes three conceptual dimensions: warmth – rejection, structure – chaos, and autonomy support – coercion. Skinner et al. (2005)’s model was intended to integrate a number of theoretical constructs of parent-child relations. Thus, the distinguishability of its constituent parts is key. The following article describes a validation of the model in Poland. The first study was carried out on a sample of 969 adolescents, and the second – on a sample of 269 parents. In the adolescent sample, the measurement model achieved a good fit to data, but the individual constructs were highly intercorrelated, which weakened the rationale for distinguishing them. In the parent sample, high correlations between the constructs led to a poor fit to data. Thus, only a general measure of parent-child relation quality was obtained. A bi-factor analysis was also ran to determine the role of specific factors generated alongside the general factor. The validation was a partial success in the parent sample, for which a short version of the questionnaire measuring warmth, structure, and autonomy support was developed.

Artykuł przedstawia rozważania na temat komunikacji rodziców z dziećmi. Głównym punktem odniesienia jest proces wychowania poprzez odpowiednie porozumiewanie się w rodzinie. Tekst zawiera informacje o komunikacji jednostronnej i niewerbalnej w początkowej fazie rodzicielstwa, wyjaśnia, jak ważna jest otwartość i dwustronność komunikacji oraz jakie zagrożenia niesie komunikacja zamknięta oraz autorytarność w wychowaniu dziecka. Odpowiednia komunikacja jest istotna dla unikania konfliktów oraz sprzyja dobrym relacjom w rodzinie.
The article presents reflections on communication between parents and children. The main point of reference is the process of upbringing through appropriate communication in the family. The text contains information about one-way and non-verbal communication, the dangers of closed communication, and authoritativeness in raising a child. Proper communication is crucial in avoiding conflicts and promoting good family relationships.

Celem artykułu jest przybliżenie zjawiska sharentingu. Przywołując wybrane doniesienia badawcze przeprowadzone w tym zakresie zarówno w Polsce, jak i na świecie, postaram się wskazać motywy, jakie towarzyszą rodzicom, którzy udostępniają za pośrednictwem mediów społecznościowych informacje, zdjęcia, filmy o swoim dziecku. Następnie rozważę korzyści i niebezpieczeństwa, jakie mogą wynikać z działań o charakterze sharentingowym. Na zakończenie wskażę potrzebę prowadzenia działań edukacyjnych przeznaczonych dla rodziców odnoszących się do rozsądnego umieszczania treści wrażliwych w mediach społecznościowych.
The aim of this article is to present the phenomenon of sharenting. Referring to selected research reports conducted in this field both in Poland and worldwide, I will try to indicate the motives that accompany parents who share information, photos and films about their child via social media. I will then consider the benefits and dangers that may arise from sharenting activities. I will conclude by pointing out the need for educational activities aimed at parents relating to the sensible posting of sensitive content on social media.

As part of this study, an analysis of dynamically developing parenting websites was undertaken. Particular attention was paid to their popularity amongst men. This is both about the receipt of information and the possible participation in discussions or comments on ventures. Research topic has taken the form of a question: What information and where do modern fathers look for? The empirical material was juxtaposed with the findings included in the subject literature.
