    Modernly divorce becomes common place. It affects destructively and critically on the entire family sys- tem and the personality of children. Psychological marks are left on the child's mind and it significantly contributes to the formation of stressful situations. It is a difficult crisis with which the spouses, but what is more important their children have to face. It is essential for adults to guarantee them balanced development and set a good role model. Conflict situations and aggression between parents are dangerous for emotional relations which are bonding family. This article contains issues concerning divorce in the family and it includes indications for the parents who are standing before the divorce decision.

    The objective of the study was to identify family determinants of aggression strategy used by adolescents in social conflict situations from among educational attitudes and the pattern of coping with difficult situations used by parents. The study employed SPR M. Plopa’s questionnaire to test the perception of parental attitudes, a proprietary questionnaire to test the parents coping strategies in social conflict situations (SRwSK) and a proprietary questionnaire to test the coping strategies of youth in social conflict situations (KSRK). Empirical research involved 892 adolescents (467 girls and 425 boys) aged 13-15. In light of the performed tests it has been found that adolescents’ aggressive response to emotional tension, arising in a social conflict situation, is shaped by inappropriate educational attitudes characterised by lack of stability in behaviour of the mother and the father towards an adolescent. Moreover, an important factor of a family system, contributing to the development of aggression strategies of young people coping in social conflict situations, is to pass onto adolescent children the patterns of aggression strategies by the parents.

    Pierwsze lata edukacji szkolnej są ważne w kontekście rozwoju osobistego i przyszłych losów jednostek. Konflikty, jakie pojawiają się w tym okresie na płaszczyźnie edukacyjnej, mogą mieć wpływ na osobowość i kształt relacji społecznych uczniów, zarówno aktualnych, jak i przyszłych. Gruntowne przyjrzenie się temu zagadnieniu oraz poświęcenie mu empirycznego wysiłku bez wątpienia pozostaje jednym z bardzo znaczących pedagogicznie zagadnień. „Konflikt” bowiem to pojęcie obejmujące swoim zasięgiem prawdopodobnie najważniejszą współcześnie problematykę wychowawczą, odnoszącą się do takich zjawisk, jak agresja i przemoc wśród dzieci i młodzieży. W artykule prezentowane są wyniki badań dotyczących postrzegania przez uczniów klas niższych sytuacji konfliktowych.
    The first years of school education are vital in the context of personal development and the future fate of individuals. Conflicts which arise in this period at the educational level can influence the current and future personality and nature of students’ social relations. A detailed examination of this topic and application of empirical effort are certainly among the most pedagogically significant issues. The term ‘conflict’ covers probably the most important current problems of upbringing regarding such phenomena as aggression and violence among children and adolescents. The article presents the results of studies concerning perception of conflict situations by lower grade students.

    Analyzing the character of moral conflict and a hypothesis on the conflict background of morality, the author refers to J. Pawlica’s ideas on the technology of ethics as a new branch of ethics, dealing with ethical decisions (apart from descriptive and normative ethics) as well as K. Szaniawski’s proposal to solve moral conflicts by means of appropriate tools of the decision theory. The article results in an attempt to formulate the algorithm of decision making in moral conflict situations.

    Cel. Celem badań była ocena postrzeganych postaw rodzicielskich w generowaniu destruktywnej (agresja, unik, uległość) i konstruktywnej (zadaniowej) strategii radzenia sobie młodzieży w sytuacji konfliktu społecznego. Materiały i metody. W badaniach posłużono się Skalą Postaw Rodzicielskich (SPR) Mieczysława Plopy i Kwestionariuszem do badania strategii radzenia sobie młodzieży w sytuacji konfliktu społecznego (KSMK) Danuty Boreckiej-Biernat. Badania empiryczne objęły 893 osoby (468 dziewcząt i 425 chłopców) w wieku 13–15 lat. Wyniki. W świetle przeprowadzonych badań stwierdzono, że destruktywny (agresywny, unikowy, uległy) sposób reagowania adolescentów na napięcie emocjonalne w sytuacji konfliktu społecznego kształtują nieprawidłowe postawy rodzicielskie charakteryzujące się uczuciowym dystansem lub uczuciową koncentracją rodziców w stosunku do dorastającego dziecka, brakiem zrównoważonej więzi emocjonalnej i wysoko postawioną poprzeczką wymagań wraz z przesadną dyscypliną i rygorem. Ponadto analiza materiału badawczego wskazała, że prawidłowe postawy rodzicielskie, przepełnione ciepłem uczuciowym, akceptacją i wsparciem, uznaniem swobody do aktywności z jednoczesnym uszanowaniem indywidualności wyposażają dorastające dziecko w strategię konstruktywną (zadaniową), skuteczną w przezwyciężaniu sytuacji konfliktu społecznego. Wydaje się, że uzyskane informacje mogą być wskazówkami teoretycznymi w opracowaniu strategii wychowawczych mających na celu ukształtowanie jednostki radzącej sobie z konfliktem w sposób dojrzały.
    Aim. The goal of the study was to assess the perceived parental attitudes in generating destructive (aggression, avoidance, submission) and constructive (task-oriented) coping strategies in young people in situations of social conflict. Materials and methods. The Parental Attitudes Scale (SPR) by Mieczysław Plopa and the Questionnaire of Coping Strategies in Youth in Situations of Social Conflict (KSMK) by Danuta Borecka-Biernat were used in the study. The empirical study was conducted on a sample of 893 participants (468 girls and 425 boys) aged 13 to 15. Results. In the light of the conducted study, it has been concluded that the destructive (aggressive, avoidant, submissive) coping mechanism in adolescents who experience emotional tension in situations of social conflict is shaped by inappropriate parental attitudes, characterized by emotional distance or emotional focus of the parents on the adolescent child, lack of a balanced emotional bond, as well as high expectations combined with excessive discipline and strictness. Moreover, an analysis of the research material has indicated that appropriate parental attitudes, characterized by emotional warmth, acceptance, support, allowing the child to choose the activities they engage in, and respecting their individuality facilitate the development of the constructive (task-oriented) strategy in the adolescent, which allows the young person to overcome social conflicts. It appears that the obtained information constitutes a theoretical basis for guidelines for parental and educational strategies that will allow the shaping of individuals able to cope with conflict in a mature way.

    The article deals with the problem of family conflict and the possibility of solving it through mediation. The content of it concerns: conflict and its consequences for the family system, causes and types of conflicts, as well as people's reaction to conflict. It presents mediation as a method of amicable settlement of a dispute, as a procedure that allows the conflicting parties to reach an agreement, rebuild or improve relations. Mediation has been presented as a form of intervention in the dispute, creating the possibility of an agreement between the parties without the participation of the court. It was indicated that this is a procedure that directs the parties to the future and allows to satisfy the interests of both parties. The article presents the possibilities and barriers to the application of mediation in family matters.

    Szkoła jako przestrzeń wzajemnych relacji i interakcji jest miejscem szczególnego ryzyka wystąpienia konfliktów i sporów. W obliczu nieporozumień i sporów uczniowskich na skutek braku komunikacji i podmiotowego traktowania siebie nawzajem, nauczyciele często wchodzą w konflikty z uczniami. Sposobem na pojawiąjące się trudne sytuacje są mediacje, które odpowiednio prowadzone przez mediatora, według zasad opartych na zrozumieniu wzajemnych interesów, przynoszą korzyści obu stronom konfliktu. Mediator wprowadza do praktyki edukacyjnej umiejętność poprawnego porozumiewania się, empatycznego i asertywnego zachowania oraz wskazuje sposoby rozwiązywania konfliktów. Działania mediatora (nauczyciela) prowadzą do wzajemnego zrozumienia zaistniałego problemu oraz znalezienia przez strony sporu jak najlepszego rozwiązania i wdrożenia go w życie. Mediator jest niejako strażnikiem przestrzegania umowy mediacyjnej, której celem jest unikanie podobnych sytuacji w przyszłości. Celem niniejszego opracowania jest: po pierwsze ukazanie mediacji w szkole jako metody, która uczy rozumieć własne czyny, ponosić za nie odpowiedzialność, uwrażliwiać na uczucia i prawa drugiego człowieka. Natomiast drugim celem artykułu jest zwrócenie uwagi na ważną i nieocenioną rolę nauczycieli w rozwiązywaniu uczniowskich sporów poprzez zastosowanie mediacji, czyli bezpiecznego i skutecznego sposobu rozwiązywania, a nie eskalowania konfliktów.
    School, as a space of interaction and interactions, is a place of particular risk of conflicts and disputes. Faced with student misunderstandings and disputes due to lack of communication and subjective treatment of each other, teachers often enter into conflicts with students. A way to deal with difficult situations that arise is mediation, which, properly conducted by a mediator, according to principles based on understanding of each other’s interests, benefits both parties to the conflict. The mediator introduces into educational practice the ability to communicate correctly, behave empathetically and assertively, and shows ways to resolve conflicts. The mediator’s (teacher’s) actions lead to a mutual understanding of the problem at hand and to the parties to the dispute finding the best possible solution and implementing it. The mediator is, so to speak, the guardian of compliance with the mediation agreement, the purpose of which is to avoid similar situations in the future. The purpose of this paper is: firstly, to show mediation at school as a method that teaches to understand one’s own actions, bear responsibility for them, sensitize to the feelings and rights of another person. While the second purpose of the article is to draw attention to the important and invaluable role of teachers in resolving student disputes through the use of mediation, that is, a safe and effective way of resolving rather than escalating conflicts.
