The aim of the article is to present life realities found in the world of sport, principles which are prevailing there and the areas of activity which are conducive to the social development of competitors and all the persons who belong to sports environment. Examinations, which were undertaken using the method of the qualitative analysis of the text together with the interpretation, let meet the social dimension of sport, which is expressed among others in kindliness among persons, teams and societies, in submission to fair play, in objective assessment of oneself and others, in avoidance of antisocial behaviour. It is necessary to always ask about the sports education; whether it is only increasing the physical strength of a man and whether the concern for the mental and spiritual spheres development should not be there too.

Freedom manifests itself in many areas of social life as a necessary development factor. In economics, freedom is key to ensuring the basic principles of trade and business. In politics, freedom is unfettered exchange of ideas and actions, leading to the best choices authority and directions of social change. Freedom is also necessary for human development, in which individuals realize their life goals and aspirations. The aim of the article is to present the results of research on the impact of freedom on the main areas of social life. It turns out that freedom is a necessary factor of socio-economic development that mobilizes individuals to act. On the other hand, the comprehensive process of socioeconomic development is in essence a process of expanding freedom.

Latin American economies have historically been defined by serious structural heterogeneity which is largely responsible for the high levels of social inequality. Social inequality is seen as a fundamental obstacle to sustainable development in the region. A commitment assumed by all the countries of the region, reflected in their willingness to accomplish the Goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, is that significantly reducing inequality is one of the main challenges that the region faces. In the article the author will examine the approach to inequality expressed in the Agenda 2030, especially in the SDG 10. The multidimensional inequality phenomena will be referred to, with the special focus on Latin America. Some of the axes and aspects of social inequality will be addressed to, drawing attention to what solutions are proposed by the Agenda 2030. Recent trends in reducing inequality in Latin America will also be analysed.

The article is devoted to the role of human factor in social development of the region. The human factor has a special meaning for the Nadodrze, because of the uniqueness and distinctiveness of the series of population processes taking place in this area in the years 1946-2035, as well as changing at this time spatial arrangement of Nadodrze voivodships. The particular importance in the construction of social objectives in strategies development (ammendment) for individual regions should have their demographic profiles so the empirical picture of the social situation appropriately enhanced could become the basis for diagnosis, without which the process of economic and social changes can not be properly defined.

Rozwój zrównoważony to jedna z najbardziej frapujących idei, które przyniósł ze sobą koniec XX w. Powszechnie uznawana definicja tego rozwoju pochodzi z 1987 r. z raportu ONZ "Nasza Wspólna Przyszłość" ("Our Common Future"). Publikacja była efektem prac powołanej w 1983 r. niezależnej ŚwiatowejKomisji d/s Środowiska i Rozwoju (World Commission on Environmentand Development). Stanowiła ona próbę całościowego spojrzenia na problemy współczesnego świata. Przestrzegano przed powszechnie przyjętym wąskim rozumieniem pojęcia "rozwoju" (uwzględniającego tylko rozwój czysto ekonomiczny), a także przed równie wąskim podejściem do pojęcia "środowisko". We współczesnym świecie - jak dobitnie w komentarzu z ramienia OECD podkreślał Donald J. Johnston - "środowisko nie jest sferą niezależną od ludzkich działań, ambicji i potrzeb" [3]. Współczesne sytuacje kryzysowe (w aspekcie środowiskowym, rozwojowym, rolniczym, społecznym, czy energetycznym) także nie są od siebie niezależne. To jest jeden kryzys globalny odnoszący się do podejścia człowieka wobec środowiska, którego nie da się już rozwiązać w ramach jurysdykcji poszczególnych krajów.
Sustainable development concept is concentrated on the future of mankind, in the context of needs both present and future generations. Usually ecological, social and economic issues are described. In this paper I seek to expand the discussion, so as to include ethical (human's responsibility for nature), technical (e.g. cleaner production), legal (environmental law) and political aspects (formulating and implementation of strategies). Also hierarchal relationship between these issues were presented, where ethicals issues are the base (level I), second level includes ecological, social and economical issues, and finally 3rd level is devoted to particular issues: technological, legali and political. The author is convinced, that introducing sustainable development may achieve the status of a "Revolution", comparable with the agricultural, scientific and industrial revolutions. Counted in hundreds of years of conditions of many processes taking place In the environment, in connection with the unheard-of dynamics of phenomena observed today, make difficult the objective opinion of the present moment of mankind development. This challenge which solution is very essential on the road to introduction of the sustainable development. Will the future of the world be balanced? Does homo sapiens have a chance to become homo sustinens [21]? There is no unambiguous answer to these questions. Independently however, in which measure present situation fulfils our expectation (or far is it from them) many has been reached within last twenty years which passed since publication of the report "Our Common Future". It is not only abort impressive number of international agreements signed (it is necessary to underline the large meaning of internal proposals of European Union, with special regard to Renewed Strategy of Sustainable Development of EU from 2006, apart from those accepted on the forum of UN), but also about more and more clear change of many politicians approach to the issue of human future on Earth. More than symbolic meaning has introduction by Poland in 1997 the idea of sustainable development to Constitution, making up the most important act of the national law [16]. The revolution of the sustainable development has begun.

The article addresses selected issues of inequality that take place in the modern world. The author points out that the widening of inequalities could adversely affect the chances of social development at a global, regional, and national extent. It focuses on inequalities arising from the measurement obtained by using the new indicators such as the Inequality-adjusted Human Development Index (IHDI) and Gender Inequality Index - GII, as well as inequalities in income, derived based on the ratio Gini. Author indicates the various, possible consequences of growing inequalities.

Problematyka ta jest bardzo istotna w aspekcie rozwoju, działania i funkcjonowania człowieka. Aktywność jednostki ma wpływ na doskonalenie się w rolach określanych przez kulturę i społeczeństwo. Wymierny pożytek przynoszą działania służące realizacji mniej lub bardziej ważnych i oddalonych w czasie celów. Utrudnienia rozwojowe człowieka, zmagania się z własną niemożnością, słabością szczególnie w sferze psychicznej jednostki, w jego różnych aktywnościach są podyktowane kruchością struktury przestrzeni publicznej, jak i prywatnej przedsiębiorczości, słabością instytucji rodziny, starzejącym się społeczeństwem, osamotnieniem, co przekłada się na mały zasób i siłę kompetencji człowieka, wymagający wzmocnienia.
The development of competences and their recognition is the foundation of the self-creation of modern society and human personality. Members of the public have the opportunity to influence change. Shaping attitudes and behaviors requires acceptance, treating the individual and society in accordance with the expectations. The basic influence on this situation is adaptation, adaptation, rationality and experiencing what is happening around us and in us. The aim of the publication is to highlight important issues concerning competences, precisely key competences, social competences and positive prosperity of people. This issue is very important in the aspect of human development, operation and functioning. The individual's activity influences the improvement in the roles defined by culture and society. Measures to achieve more or less important and time-bound goals bring measurable benefits. Difficulties in the development of people, struggles with their own inability, weakness especially in the individual's mental sphere, in his various activities are dictated by the fragility of the structure of public space, private enterprise, weakness of the family institution, aging society, loneliness, which translates into a small resource and the power of human competence, requiring reinforcement.

An important principle related to the development of society is to meet the needs of a given society. These needs affect the intercourse between people in the society. In this concept, the main subject is the individual (human) and its needs, not the state. The article presents an attempt to show that diagnosis of society's needs contributes to the development of society. The applied research methods are an overview of the current literature on the subject and own analysis using Maslow's hierarchy of needs.

Funkcjonowanie człowieka w rolach zawodowych pracownika, współpracownika, przełożonego, pracodawcy zdeterminowane jest bardzo wieloma różnorodnymi czynnikami. Wśród nich doniosłe miejsce zajmują doświadczenia społeczne jednostki w toku jej rozwoju. Artykuł stanowi próbę analizy relacji zachodzących między rozwojem społecznym człowieka a jego aktywnością zawodową. Uwzględniono tu takie zagadnienia, jak: znaczenie środowiska społecznego, zwłaszcza rodzinnego, istotę i uwarunkowania procesu socjalizacji, adaptację społeczną, znaczenie samowychowania i tożsamości społecznej, stres psychospołeczny, rolę społecznego podtrzymywania i grupy wsparcia.
Human’s function in professional roles of an employee, a co-worker, a superior, an employer is determined by a great variety of factors. Among them social experience of an individual in a development process takes a momentous place. This article is trying to analyze relationships between human’s social development and his professional activity. The signifi cance of social life, especially family life, essence and socializing process condition, social adaptation, the signifi cance of upbringing and social identity, phycosocial stress, the role of social support and support groups are taken into consideration.

The aim of sustainable development is to take into an account such an economic development, which simultaneously addresses into the problem of improving the environment in strategies which will lead to the higher standard of life. Hence the question of intergenerational justice,in which it is essential that future generations have an equal, in relation to the contemporary, access to natural resources and equal opportunities for the development of the life standard. However, implementation of such sustainable development might be limited by the negative phenomena of the social support. These are e.g. cyberbullying and disability. Cyberbullying is a way of force with the use of mass-media - primarily the Internet and mobile phones. Disability is an another social phenomenon having negative implications for the implementation of sustainable development. It is true that in Poland the number of people with disabilities is consistently declining, but it still applies to thousands of people with reduced efficiency of operations in numerous areas of life, and therefore requires a special approach in everyday life and in education and the labor market.

Artykuł obejmuje zagadnienia dotyczące poziomu wykształcenia ludności w krajach Unii Europejskiej w kontekście szansy dla rozwoju społecznego i ekonomicznego. Celem prowadzonych analiz było ukazanie zmian zachodzących w poziomie wykształcenia ludności oraz w rozwoju społeczno-ekonomicznym krajów w latach 2006–2015 oraz zależności pomiędzy wskaźnikami opisującymi badane kwestie. Do oceny podjętej problematyki uwzględniono takie wskaźniki jak: odsetek ludności według osiągniętego poziomu wykształcenia w wieku 15–64 lata, odsetek osób z wyższym wykształceniem w wieku 30-34 lata, odsetek ludności przedwcześnie kończących edukację w wieku 18–24 lata oraz niepracujących i nieuczących się w wieku 15–24 lata, uczestnictwo w kształceniu osób w wieku 25–64 lata, produkt krajowy brutto na 1 mieszkańca, dochody ludności, zagrożenie ubóstwem lub wykluczeniem społecznym. Źródłem danych empirycznych były informacje pochodzące z Europejskiego Urzędu Statystycznego. Analizie poddano 28 krajów Unii Europejskiej. W większości krajów Unii Europejskiej następuje wzrost poziomu wykształcenia ludności oraz obniża się odsetek osób przedwcześnie kończących naukę. Poziom i wzrost wykształcenia społeczeństwa europejskiego znajduje swoje odzwierciedlenie w poziomie i rozwoju społeczno-ekonomicznym krajów.
Article covers issues related to the education level of the population in the countries of the European Union in the context of opportunity for social and economic development. The aim of this analysis was to show changes in the level of education of the population and socio-economic development of countries in the years 2006–2015 and the relationships between indicators describing the investigated issues. To evaluate the issues taken into account indicators such as the percentage of the population by level of education attained at the age of 15–64 years, the proportion of people with higher education aged 30–34, the percentage of the population of early school leavers aged 18–24 and unemployed and non-learning aged 15–24, participation in education of persons aged 25–64 years, gross domestic product per 1 capita income of the population, the risk of poverty or social exclusion. The source of empirical information was derived from the European Statistical Office. We analyzed 28 European Union countries. In most countries, the European Union is an increase education of the population and reduces the rate of early school leavers. The increase in education of European society is reflected in the social and economic development of countries.

Opis:
Nałkowski lived in times of rapid transformation of civilization and during the period of ideological ferment, in a colonized country which at that time was Poland. Clearly disappointed with social and political reality, he turned his interest towards the trendy socialist ideas, seeing in them the hope for improving the living conditions of the society. The discerning analysis of the Nałkowski’s Social Writings (ed. 1951), allowed the author to assess the influence of the intellectual atmosphere on his activities and views. Although Nałkowski was a supporter of modern ideas, such as evolution, his intellectual independence and strength were the reason why he never became political activist. Moreover, he refused to join socialist movements and organizations. His ideological position and uncompromising character as well as the controversial, typical for him way of expressing opinions and views caused, that he was excluded from the political circles and condemned to an existence outside of academia, and often on the margins of intellectual life.
