The interest in high-risk capital has contributed to change in business angels market, including in particular dynamic development of networks. Their main tasks include associating investors with entrepreneurs and undertaking actions to popularize this form of financing of innovative projects. Significant growth of business angels networks was a response to the requirements of both the individual investors, who planned investments in high-risk projects as well as small and medium enterprises looking for ways of financing the early stage of development. This article presents the development of business angels market in Europe, their quanity, performed tasks, value of investments made by business angels and their investment preferences.

W Koranie, świętej księdze muzułmanów, słowo anioł (malak) spotykamy częściej niż osiemdziesiąt razy. W islamie anioł to duchowa siła czy istota, która podaje ludziom dobre uszczęśliwiające myśli, zwierzętom zaś podsuwa zbawcze przeczucie lub w jakiś inny sposób pozostaje w służbie natury i życia. Aniołowie bezpośrednio służą Bogu, towarzysząc ludziom i pozostałym istotom i współdziałając z nimi. Koran daje czytelnikowi całościowy i rozmaity obraz aniołów w islamie. Przeprowadzona analiza wybranych tekstów Koranu daje nam fundamentalną koraniczną wiedzę o istotach duchowych, które, tak jak ludzie, stworzone zostały dla służby Bogu i przebywaniu z Nim w szczęśliwości. Wiedza o aniołach i wiara w nich powinny wspierać wierzącego na drodze zbawienia, wzmacniać jego wiarę, poczucie bezpieczeństwa i obecności wspomagających aniołów i Boga. Wiara w anioły jest bardzo ważną częścią wiary muzułmańskiej, ma bogatą tradycję i historię. Aniołowie odgrywają znaczącą rolę w życiu człowieka, towarzyszą mu przez cały czas jego bycia na ziemi i istnienia po śmierci. Jest nieodłączną rzeczywistością egzystencji muzułmanina.
In Qur’an, the Muslims’ holy book, the word angel (malak) may be read more than eighty times. In Islam, angel is a spiritual power or creature, who gives good pleasing thoughts to people and saving premonitions to animals and who serves the nature and life in some other way. The angels serve directly to God while accompanying people and other creatures, co-operating with them. Qur’an gives the reader a comprehensive portrait of the angels in Islam. The analysis of selected excerpts from Qur’an gives the readers fundamental Qur’anic knowledge about spiritual creatures who, just like people, were created to serve God and be with Him in happiness. The knowledge of angels and the faith in them should support a believing person on their way to salvation, strengthen their faith, the feeling of security and of supporting angels and God’s presence. The faith in angels is a very considerable part of Muslim faith, has a rich tradition and history, is a Muslim’s existence’s inevitable reality. Angels play a significant role in the lives of people, accompany them all the time of living on the Earth and during their existence after death.

Wybierają branże o wysokiej dynamice wzrostu takie jak: technologie informacyjno-komunikacyjne, telefonia komórkowa, nowoczesne technologie, biotechnologie oraz usługi dla biznesu i finanse. Artykuł przedstawia istotę instytucji aniołów biznesu, wsparcie oferowane przez inwestorów indywidualnych oraz prezentuje ich działalność w Polsce.
The development of business angels institutions has occurred parallel to the growth of young, innovative projects with high increase potential. Looking for an alternative source of capital was a consequence of a lack of access to the traditional forms of external business financing. This type of demand met with the response of individual investors, ready to invest their own capital, expecting above-average return rate of investment. Business angels primarily finance innovative entities in seed and early stage of development (pre-seed, seed, early stage and start-up). They choose high-growth industries such as information and communication technologies, telecommunication, modern technologies, biotechnology, business services and finance. The article presents the essence of the institution of business angels, the support offered by individual investors and their activity in Poland

The text is an analysis of the Polish premiere of Tony Kushner's drama Angels in America. The drama, staged in 1995 as Angels of America at the Wybrzeże Theatre in Gdańsk, directed by Wojciech Nowak, has not made it into the history of Polish political theatre. However, the testimonies of its reception today allow for a complex analysis of the entanglement of political theatre in the so-called political transition. With the help of the category of 'normality', I am trying to expose the meandering paths of emancipation in the Polish theatre of the 1990s - the time of transition.

“Sons of God” is the term applied in the Old Testament to supernatural beings both good and evil. However the general view is that the “sons of God” were the pious descendants of Seth and the daughters of men, the Cainitish offspring. In this article there are strong arguments against it. First of all, the term „sons of God” is never applied in the Old Testament to believers. Secondly, is no proof in the text that the daughters of men were only descendants of the Cainites. Thirdly, if the „sons of God” were simply pious Sethites, it is hard to understand why the offspring should be a special race. Besides, the giants were Nephilim, which means „the fallen ones”. That is why the term „sons of God” must mean supernatural evil beings. These angels married women of the human race (either Cainites or Sethites) and the resulting offspring were the Nephilim. The Nephilim were giants with physical superiority and therefore established themselves as men of renowned for their physical prowess and military might. This race of half human creatures was wiped out by the flood New Testament (Jud 5-6; 2 Pet 2,4 i 1 Pet 3,18-20) hint on Gen 6,1-4. This Scriptures declares that the fallen angels are angels, which sinned and God did not spare them. The fallen angels left their own habitation and mixed with the daughters of men.

Aniołowie biznesu są ważnymi uczestnikami ekosystemu finansowania innowacyjnych przedsięwzięć. Wspierają start-upy swoim kapitałem, ale cenniejsza jest ich wiedza, doświadczenie czy sieć kontaktów. W literaturze naukowej brakuje pozycji przybliżających ten rynek w Polsce lub cechy aniołów biznesu. Prezentujemy pierwsze opracowanie w Polsce, którego celem jest określenie cech aniołów biznesu, ich preferencji inwestycyjnych oraz sposobu podejmowania decyzji tym zakresie. Cel ten został zrealizowany za pomocą badania ankietowego przeprowadzonego pośród 40 najaktywniejszych aniołów biznesu działających na rynku w Polsce. Badanie potwierdza przypuszczenia, że polski rynek aniołów biznesu jest młody – świadczą o tym doświadczenie inwestorów czy niewielka liczba wyjść z inwestycji.
Business angels are important players in the ecosystem of financing innovative ventures. They support startups with their capital, but their knowledge, experience and network of contacts are more valuable. There are no studies in the scientific literature showing what the market in Poland looks like or what features do business angels have. We present the first study of this type in Poland. The aim of this article is to define the characteristics of business angels, their investment preferences and the manner of making investment decisions. This goal was achieved through a questionnaire survey of 40 of the most active business angels operating on the Polish market. The research confirms the assumptions that the Polish market of business angels is young, as evidenced by the experience of investors and a small number of exits.

Roman Catholic parish Lips at the Biebrza is situated at the borders of Augustowszczyzna and Grodzieńszczyzna. In its turbulent history there have been collisions of cultures from eastern, Black Ruthenian with elements of Latin culture, polish from Mazovia. In XIX century, the cultural influences, has brought massive conversions of Russians who wanted to became Polish. In consequence it led to the reaction of tsar, namely to the oppressions of member of Uniate Church and closing down of Roman Catholic parish in Lipsk. Lack of unity has brought distrust to both laic and church authority. During wars the parish was twice deprived of priest. In 1915-1917 when P. Kotlewski was interned in Guterloh and in 1943-1944 after S. Dąbrowski escaped and B. Rutkowski and J. Płoński were murdered. During absence of priests the church was destroyed twice and two times after the priests came back the church was rebuild. The parish is „anointed” with blessed martyrs from Second World War. Blessed Marianna Biernacka was born there and spent all her life there, she was shoot dead at forts in Naumowicze. Blessed sister Sergia M. Julia Rapiej was born and spent her childhood there, she was shoot near Nowogródek. Also blessed father Adam Bargielski also worked there for some time in 1936, he died in concentration camp in Dachau. During cultural freedom P. Kuklewicz and in interwar period T. Zajączkowski together with vicar W. Sawicki and J. Dzieniszewski managed to revive cultural and social activity so much that the admiration and even envy appeared in people from neighborhood. All priests of those days put their hearts and souls into their work with entrusted them people.

Apocrypha as testimony of non-canonical reading of sacred texts can provide a starting point for a discussion on works of popular culture. Luc Besson’s film Angel-A, as a kind of synecdoche of filmmaking about angels illustrates in a vivid, pop-culture way the trends of understanding and describing reality. The director’s portrait of the angel, much different from that proposed by the Bible, promotes a model of the world which provides a sense of freedom and lightness. Artykuł zawiera analizę spotkania, do jakiego doszło w połowie lat sześćdziesiątych w Kalifornii między grupą Merry Pranksters a członkami Hell’s Angels. Chodziło zrozumienie złożonej i niejednoznacznej logiki i dynamiki tego spotkania – począwszy od nawiązania kontaktu, przez tymczasowy alians, w którym dużą rolę odegrały wspólne imprezy i zażywanie LSD, aż do konfliktu, który znalazł także swój wyraz polityczny. Opisywane wydarzenia zostały wpisane w szerszy kontekst rozkwitu i zmierzchu amerykańskiej kontrkultury, zasadniczo jednak ukazano je w ich jednostkowości. Głównymi punktami odniesienia były teksty Huntera S. Thompsona i Toma Wolfe’a.
The article proposes an analysis of the encounter between Merry Pranksters and Hell’s Angels that took place in the mid-sixties in California. The objective was to understand the complex and ambiguous logic and dynamics of that encounter: from the first contacts to a temporary alliance, built mostly during the joint LSD parties, and the final conflict that had also its political expression. The events described have been put in the wider context of the rise and fall of the American counterculture and yet presented basically in their singularity. Main points of reference were the writings of Hunter S. Thompson and Tom Wolfe.

The text of the article focuses on Christian interpretation of Henryk Bardijewski’s stories from the series “Wild angels…”. The text is an attempt to incorporate our own experience into the interpretation of the text, with particular emphasis on religious experience and faith. A combination of interpretative practice with religious experience points out to individual perception of the text and recognition of meaning. The analysis of the author’s stories in the metaphysical and mystical light enables us to discover a completely new meaning and spiritual values. Literature is a place where faith becomes a cognitive tool, which is an opportunity for theological perception of reality. Combining interpretation with religious experience, one can apply Christian anthropology method, refer to hermeneutics and use semiotic tools.

Świętemu Tomaszowi z Akwinu tradycja przypisała miano Doktora Anielskiego ze względu na fakt opracowania przezeń w sposób systematyczny szeregu kwestii z zakresu angelologii. Jan Paweł II odwołując się w Fides et ratio do tego tytułu, przedstawia św. Tomasza jako „mistrza sztuki myślenia i wzór uprawiania teologii”, zwracając zarazem uwagę na wyjątkowość oraz aktualność ujęcia relacji wiary i rozumu, które wypracował Akwinata. Aktualność tego ujęcia wiąże się z faktem, że – jak zauważa Papież – błędne podejścia w tej dziedzinie w postaci fideizmu oraz skrajnego racjonalizmu, które zdominowały kulturę nowożytnej Europy, doprowadziły do jej głębokiego kryzysu. O jego wyjątkowości zaś, decydują – wskazane przez Jana Pawła II – umiejętne godzenie nadprzyrodzonego i rozumnego charakteru aktu wiary oraz umiejętne łączenie jedności wiary i rozumu z niezbędną autonomią dziedzin poznania opartego na wierze oraz refleksji czysto racjonalnej. Choć w samej encyklice nie znajdujemy bezpośrednich nawiązań do problematyki angelologicznej, to jednak właśnie wykład prawd wiary w tej dziedzinie przeprowadzony przez Doktora Anielskiego stanowi wdzięczne źródło przykładów owocnej współpracy dwóch metaforycznych skrzydeł, o których czytamy w Fides et ratio – wiary i rozumu – umożliwiającej wzniesienie się na wyżyny dostępnego człowiekowi poznania.
St. Thomas Aquinas is referred to by Tradition as the Angelic Doctor due to his systematic studies on a number of questions concerning angelology. John Paul II, alluding to this title in Fides et Ratio, presents St. Thomas as a “master of the art of thinking and the model of practicing theology”, directing our attention to the exceptional and always relevant nature of Aquinas’ approach to the relation between faith and reason. As the Pope observes, the relevance of this approach is linked to the fact that erroneous perspectives in this field, in the form of fideism and the extreme rationalism which dominated the culture of modern Europe, have led to an acute crisis. According to John Paul II, the exceptionality of Aquinas’ approach lies in his skilful reconciliation of the supernatural and the rational character of the act of faith, and in his combining faith and reason into a unity, while respecting the indispensible autonomy of cognitive fields based on faith and purely rational reflection. Although there are no direct references to angelology in the encyclical, the presentation by the Angelic Doctor of the truths of faith, in this respect, constitutes a rewarding source of examples of fruitful cooperation between these two metaphorical wings of faith and reason, which in Fides et Ratio enable man to ascend to the heights of knowledge.

W filozoficznym sporze o właściwy człowiekowi przedmiot poznania wskazać można dwa najważniejsze stanowiska: idealistyczne, w myśl którego - wobec zawodności danych zmysłowych - punktem wyjścia refleksji filozoficznej należy uczynić, tak czy inaczej pojmowane, idee; oraz realistyczne, uznające wartość poznania zmysłowego, które jako jedyne umożliwia człowiekowi kontakt z rzeczywistością, a także podstawę dla poznania intelektualnego. Idealistyczny punkt wyjścia filozofii pozostaje w ścisłym związku z antropologiczną redukcją, w wyniku której człowiek ujmowany jest jako swego rodzaju byt świadomości, „czysty duch” poznający. Tego typu spirytualizm odcisnął swoje piętno także na myśli chrześcijańskiej, która przez wiele wieków pozostawała pod przemożnym wpływem platonizmu. Św. Tomasz z Akwinu, który – nawiązując do filozofii arystotelesowskiej – kreśli personalistyczną wizję człowieka jako transcendującej świat materialny, duchowo-cielesnej jedności, wiele uwagi poświęca problematyce angelologicznej, chcąc wskazać na istotne różnice, zachodzące pomiędzy naturą ludzką oraz naturą czystych inteligencji, jakimi są aniołowie. Różnice te w szczególności dotyczą ludzkiego i anielskiego poznania, w wielu jego aspektach. Teoriopoznawcze ujęcia, jakie od czasu Platona i Arystotelesa wypracowano w filozoficznym sporze o przedmiot poznania, okazały się przydatnymi dla wyjaśnienia sposobu pozyskiwania wiedzy, odpowiadającemu naturom – anielskiej i ludzkiej. O ile bowiem to drugie uwikłane jest zawsze w materię i skazane na pozyskiwanie w punkcie wyjścia zmysłowych danych, o tyle dla pierwszego – pozbawionego w naturalny sposób możliwości percepcji zmysłowej – jedynym możliwym punktem wyjścia pozostaje kontemplacja wrodzonych idei.
In the philosophical dispute over the subject of cognition appropriate for man it is possible to identify the two most important positions, namely the idealistic stance, according to which ideas, understood one way or another, should be a point of departure for philosophical reflection due to the fallibility of sense data; and the realistic position which acknowledges the value of sensory cognition as it is the only kind that enables man to have contact with reality, as well as being the basis for intellectual cognition. The idealistic point of departure for philosophy remains intrinsically linked with the anthropological reduction by which man is conceived as a certain form of conscious being, a cognizing “pure spirit.” This type of spiritualism left its mark on Christian thought, which for centuries has remained greatly under the influence of Platonism. St. Thomas Aquinas, referring to Aristotelian philosophy, presents a personalistic vision of man as a spiritual and corporeal unity transcending the material world. Aquinas devotes much attention to angelology, trying to indicate essential differences between human nature and the nature of pure intelligences, namely angels. These differences refer, in particular, to many aspects of human and angelic cognition. Epistemological concepts in the philosophical dispute over the subject of cognition which have been developed since the times of Plato and Aristotle appeared to be helpful in explaining the way of gaining knowledge in reference to angelic and human nature. As the latter is always entangled in matter, the former, naturally devoid of sensory perception, is left to contemplate innate ideas.

Opis:
In the 13th century metaphysics gained quite innovative shape. It resulted in boost of interest in angelology, which has become scientific science. The famous debate between Thomas Aquinas and Avicebron finished with Aquinas’s theory of angelic ontological structure. He has proved that angels are not composed of matter and form, but their composition should be rather regarded in the categories of essence and existence, whereas act of existence plays primary role. The new account of angelic nature let Thomas to show perfection of higher separated substances’ cognition. It is, of course, the consequence of their ontological structure – Angelic cognition is abstracted from the matter, because angels are immaterial, so there is no possibility of processes of abstraction, which belongs only to the bodily beings. Aquinas’ conclusion is simple: angels do not achieve the truth, so there is no process of deduction in their cases, because they are immaterial, which brings about intellectuality of their cognition.
