The article refers to the problems of defining architecture. By showing the relationship between the idea and the matter of the work, it seems possible to indicate a certain interchangeable dependence about the origin of the form in architectural art. The purpose of the article is not to indicate – what determines the construction of the building but the division (supported by historical examples) what is more important for the architect – the idea or matter of the work? The author leaves the application to the reader.

W pracy opisano zagadnienie wpływu cech wytrzymałościowych betonu na rozkład naprężeń w zewnętrznym węźle ramy żelbetowej. Uzyskane rezultaty pokazują, iż odstępstwa od założeń projektowych mają niekorzystny wpływ na pracę statyczną konstrukcji, a w szczególności na obniżenie jej nośności granicznej.
Influence of concrete strength characteristics on stress distribution in the external corner of the reinforced concrete monolithic frame is presented in the paper. Results obtained in investigations displayed unprofitable influence of deviations from designed assumptions on static response of structure, specifically on decreasing of the structure load bearing capacity.

The impact of negative factors on human comfort and ergonomics is of great im portance. Therefore, modern science takes measures to limit, minimize or reduce to zero their impact on the workplace. This article describes the negative conditions at work in underground coal mining along with the use of a developmental measure. It will be used to assess the hazard status of the underground workstation.

Opis:
In designing the high-speed low-power induction motors should be pursued to obtain operating characteristics similar to characteristics of general purpose motors and the greatest efficiency at rated load. One way to increase the efficiency of induction motors, particularly those working at higher frequencies, is applied to the motor core electrical sheets with improved magnetic properties and less core losses, including amorphous iron. The paper presents a comparison of measured operating characteristics of several low-power induction motors, a core made from three types of electrical steel, working with supply from the inverter voltage with a frequency varying in a wide range (from 0 to 200 Hz), and grid-supplied frequency 50 Hz and 100 Hz. In the case of grid-supplied motors paper presents the results of calculations made using the available methods from the literature, with particular emphasis on determining the additional losses in both the no-load and at rated load. The calculations used, experimentally determined for the tested motors, the mechanical loss characteristics, and also measured the magnetization characteristics for electrical sheets and sheet specific losses as a function of magnetic flux density for a wide range of frequencies.

Donald Welsling University of California Abstrakt Timothy Morton w kontekście ekokrytyki materialnej Krótki raport autorstwa Donalda Weslinga powstał w oparciu o cztery monografie i dwie antologie tekstów napisanych po 2007 roku. Timothy Morton to – zdaniem Weslinga-modelowy przykład teoretyka i stylisty działającego w obszarze stosunkowo nowej dziedziny, jaką jest ekokrytyka materialna. Wesling rozpoczyna omówienie od wprowadzenia diagramu obrazującego kierunki wpływu od filozofów po krytyków literackich. Głównym teoretykiem w pionowym wymiarze diagramu jest Bruno Latour kładący nacisk na sprawczość podmiotów nie-ludzkich (zwierzęta, przedmioty). W wymiarze poziomym kategorie oscylują pomiędzy studiami nad zwierzętami z jednej strony a ontologią zorientowaną na przedmiot z drugiej. Morton wiele uwagi poświęcił definiowaniu relacji pomiędzy człowiekiem i zwierzęciem, ale jego ostatnie prace i eseje sytuują go zdecydowanie w obszarze szkoły przedmiotu. Wesling formułuje trzy pytania dotyczące roli, jaką w ekokrytyce odgrywają narracja, język duchowy oraz fakt naukowy. Pytania te, które są wynikiem lektury tekstów Mortona, mają znaczenie również dla studiów nad zwierzętami. The article presents the results of a comprehensive study (N = 497) among Slovene primary school teachers with the aim of examining practical work in Primary Science courses (age 9-11). The study examined the attitude towards practical work and obstacles. The aim was also to find out whether the level of socio-economic development impacts on attitudes and obstacles. The main obstacles to the implementation of practical work at class level are: lack of material support, oversized classes, poor spatial conditions and a need for assistants. Surprising results followed an analysis of differences in the development of the environment: primary school teachers from less developed regions show a more positive attitude towards practical work compared to those from more developed regions. In addition, obstacles are perceived similarly regardless of the socio-economic situation.

Rozwój gospodarki i przemysłu, wprowadzanie nowych technologii i materiałów powoduje często wzrost zagrożenia czynnikami szkodliwymi dla ludzi i środowiska. Pracownicy zatrudnieni na stanowisku zalewacza w odlewni należą do grupy o zwiększonym ryzyku zawodowym. Stosowane masy formierskie podczas zalewania form ciekłym metalem są źródłem emisji szkodliwych, toksycznych a także rakotwórczych (benzen, WWA) związków chemicznych. W referacie przedstawiono wyniki badań stężeń związków chemicznych emitowanych w procesie wykonywania odlewów ze stopów aluminium oraz z mosiądzu, z zastosowaniem mas formierskich z nowymi spoiwami nieorganicznymi. Określone wielkości wskaźników narażenia porównano z wartościami dopuszczalnymi. Pozwoliło to na ocenę wpływu zastosowanych mas na środowisko pracy. Otrzymane wyniki odniesiono również do emisji zanieczyszczeń przy zalewaniu form wykonywanych z masy z żywicą furanową i masy z bentonitem i pyłem węglowym.
The development of economy and industry introducing new technologies and materials often means the increased threat of occurrence of factors harmful to humans and environment. Workers employed in foundries as mould pourers are the group of high professional risk. Foundry moulding sands when poured with liquid metal are a source of the emission of harmful, toxic and carcinogenic (benzene, PAHs) compounds. The paper presents the results of studies on the concentration of chemical compounds emitted in the process of casting aluminium alloys and brass using moulding sands with the new inorganic binders. The specific values of the exposure indices were compared with the limit values. This enabled an assessment of the impact of moulding sands on work environment. The obtained results were compared with the values of contaminants emitted when pouring foundry moulds made from furan sands and bentonite sands with an addition of coal dust.

The aim of this article is to present the results of research about the socio-economic status of women after divorce. 120 women after divorce participated in the survey. The women assessed their financial situation in the period before and after the divorce and the impact of divorce on their financial situation, housing and professional work. The results indicate that there is no difference in the assessment of the material situation before and after the divorce. The negative impact of divorce experienced especially women running a household alone, and a woman with two children. Living with a new partner or with second husband, and being the initiator or of the divorce process was associated with a positive assess- ment of the impact of divorce on the financial situation and housing.

Background. The aim of the study was to present the quantitative and qualitative description of the phenomenon of students’ gainful employment and determine if the work affects their functioning in the college. Materials and methods. The research included 412 fulltime Master’s degree students from Józef Piłsudski Uniwersity of Physical Education. The self-designed questionnaire was used and the statistical analysis was performed. Results. The majority of respondents was not employed during the course of studies. Gainfully employed students were active both in the learned profession and in other areas. The most common reasons for taking gainful employment were: improvement of the financial situation, earning money for entertainment, acquiring new skills and experience. Conclusion. The socio-demographic situation does not affect the phenomenon of taking gainful employment. The field of study affects the employment. Gainful employment does not affect student’s functioning in the college.

Ethical principles concerning foresters were presented in this article in the light of the forest law passed in the interwar period for the whole country, as well as in the light of the documents issued by the local forest administration. W pracy przedstawiono wyniki badań liniowej intensywności zużycia Ih oraz gęstości pracy (energii) tarcia e* R[J/m3] wyznaczonych metodą analityczno doświadczalną. Badania przeprowadzono dla różnych materiałów panewek. Pomiar zużycia dokonywany był poprzez pomiar okrągłości w czterech przekrojach panewki oraz przez pomiar masy przed i po pracy w warunkach tarcia mieszanego. Wyniki przedstawiono w postaci tabel i wykresów.
This paper presents the results of investigation into the wear linear intensity Ih and the density (energy) of friction e* R[J/m3] that were determined by means of experimentalanalytical method. The investigations were carried out for different materials of sleeves. Two methods were applied to the wear measurement, i.e. by measuring the roundness in four crosssections of sleeve as well as by the measurement of the mass before and after the operation in the conditions of mixed friction. The results are given in the form of tables and diagrams.

W artykule przedstawiono najbardziej powszechne zagrożenia mogące występować w przemyśle meblarskim oraz zasady doboru rękawic ochronnych do tych zagrożeń. Na podstawie analizy czynności wykonywanych na różnych stanowiskach pracy przemysłu meblarskiego można stwierdzić, ze główne zagrożenie jest związane z działaniem pojedynczych czynników: mechanicznych, chemicznych oraz termicznych, lub łącznym działaniem dwóch czynników: mechanicznych i chemicznych, lub trzech czynników: mechanicznych, chemicznych i termicznych. W związku z czym, w artykule przedstawiono normy, w których opisano wymagania, jakie powinny spełniać rękawice ochronne, aby mogły być stosowane w narażeniu na działanie wymienionych czynników. Dla wybranych czynności omówiono rodzaj zagrożenia oraz przedstawiono przykładowe zalecane konstrukcje oraz materiał rękawic ochronnych.
This article presents the most common hazards present in the furniture industry and the principles for selecting gloves protecting against them. An analysis of the occupational activities at different workstations in the furniture industry has shown that the greatest risk is associated with exposure to a single factor (mechanical, chemical or thermal) or the simultaneous operation of two factors (mechanical and chemical) or three factors (mechanical, chemical and thermal). Therefore, this article discusses standards, which describe the requirements protective gloves should meet to be used m exposure to the aforementioned factors. It also presents - for selected occupational activities - types of workplace hazards, sample recommended constructions of and materials for protective gloves.

W procesie kształcenia studentów architektury jednym z podstawowych problemów jest uświadomienie im znaczenia pojęcia kompozycja – jako podstawowego dla wszelkiej twórczości plastycznej, a zwłaszcza dla projektowania architektury. Praca niniejsza prezentuje element tego procesu kształcenia, który ściśle wiąże teorię z praktyką twórczą przy wykorzystaniu różnych mediów, w celu przygotowania kompozycji przestrzennej. Służą temu odpowiednio dobrane zadania, które wprowadzono w ramach kursów bloku kompozycyjno-plastycznego na Wydziale Architektury Politechniki Wrocławskiej, już na pierwszym poziomie nauczania. W opracowaniu omówiono grupę prostych zadań i sposobów ich realizacji ze względu na wprowadzanie elementów teorii kompozycji (jej cech, zależności, zasad), zastosowane tworzywo i technologię wykonania oraz rodzaje dokumentacji idei projektowej. W artykule zawarto także opis metodologii realizacji kolejnych etapów tych zadań oraz dokumentację fotograficzną z opisem wybranych przykładów prac studenckich (płyty, ściany, bryły). Realizacja tej grupy zadań dydaktycznych umożliwia jednoczesne weryfikowanie związków pomiędzy projektowaną formą, jej konstrukcją i cechami materiału, pozwala także na koordynowanie procesów projektowania równolegle – w zapisie płaskim (rysunek na wszystkich etapach) i w realnej przestrzeni. Są one tym samym istotnym elementem warsztatu plastycznego przyszłych architektów.
In the educational process of architecture students one of the essential problems is to make them aware of the importance of the concept composition – as a basic one for all artistic activity, especially for the architectural designing. This paper presents an element of this educational process which closely connects the theory with creative practice using different media, in order to realize the three-dimensional composition. Adequately chosen educational tasks, which have been introduced within the confines of composition-artistic block courses at the Faculty of Architecture of Wrocław University of Science and Technology at the primary level, are very helpful. In the paper a group of simple tasks and ways of their realization for the sake of introducing some elements of composition theory (its features, relationships, rules), used materials and technology of execution as well as some kinds of designing idea documentation is described. This paper also contains the report on the realization methodology of the next steps of these tasks and also described photos of chosen students’ work examples (plates, walls, solids). Realization of this group of educational tasks makes it possible to verify connections between the designed form, its construction and characteristics of material, it also allows to co-ordinate designing processes simultaneously – in two-dimensional notation (drawing, at all stages) and during modelling in real space. And so they are an important element of the future architects art technique.

Opis:
W artykule przedstawiono przykłady rozwiązań konstrukcyjno-materiałowych przedwojennych wielorodzinnych budynków mieszkalnych realizowanych w Gdyni na terenie dzielnicy Działki Leśne, które obecnie, w czasie prowadzenia prac remontowo-modernizacyjnych, powodują powstawanie znacznych utrudnień wydłużając czas robót budowlanych oraz generując dodatkowe koszty. Na przykładzie fundamentów, stropów oraz murów zewnętrznych omówiono koncepcje projektowe umożliwiające usunięcie części występujących usterek.
In the paper examples of solutions of structural-material prewar multi-occupied residential buildings carried out were presented in Gdynia in the district of Woody Plots which at present, during conducting renovation-modernization works cause coming into existence of considerable impediments extending the time of building work and generating extra costs. On the example of foundations, of ceilings and outside walls design concepts were discussed enabling to remove the part of appearing defects.

Opis:
Opracowanie ma na celu poddanie analizie działań Inspektora Pracy w trakcie prowadzonej przez niego procedury kontrolnej oraz w trakcie postępowania w sprawach o  wykroczenie przeciwko prawom pracownika. Badania ogniskują wokół założeń zachowania na opisywanych etapach konstytucyjnych zasad postępowania mającego na celu wymierzenie sankcji. Innowacyjność analizy polega na rozciągnięciu jej na działania wykonywane przez Inspektora Pracy określone w ustawie o  Państwowej Inspekcji Pracy. Autor prezentuje podejście zarówno teoretyczne, jak i praktyczne przejawy postępowania zasad zachowania się stron w procesie karnym oraz w procesie o  wykroczenia na płaszczyźnie stricte niekarnistycznej. Udowadnia istnienie tej zależności, jednocześnie podając jej przykłady.
The work is aimed to review the activities of the Inspector of Labour during the course of his inspection procedure and proceedings in cases of oqense against the rights of the employee. Research focuses on labor inspector’s work and rules of criminal procedure during and additional procedural rules occurring at the stage of control. Innovation is the study of rules of criminal procedure on the basis of inspections conducted by the Labour Inspector. The author presents a theoretical and practical approach. The author examines the the manifestations of the behavior of the parties in a criminal trial and in the process of oqenses under strictly not a criminal. Proves the existence of this relationship at the same time giving her examples.
