Opis:
St. Arnold Janssen (1837-1909) is considered a pioneer of the modern missionary movement in the German, Dutch and Slavic-speaking countries in the 19th century. He was the Founder of the three religious-missionary congregations in Steyl – male congregation Society of the Divine Word (SVD) in 1875, active female congregation Servants of the Holy Spirit (SSpS) in 1889 and contemplative female congregation Servants of the Holy Spirit of Perpetual Adoration (SSpSAP) in 1896. The spiritual and missionary direction of his life is based on the mystery of the Holy Trinity. This article describes how he lived his relationship with the Holy Trinity in prayer connected to mission and enlightened in mission. Three fundamental points are then presented: the spiritual life of Saint Arnold, the Trinitarian devotion that penetrated the whole of his life, and his tireless Trinitarian apostolate.

The subject of the study is the theme of the missionary nature of the Church presented and shown in a new light in a deepened and adapted to the challenges of the end of the 20th century by Saint John Paul II in the encyclical Redemptoris missio. Today, a special opportunity to undertake this issue and to present it in the current historical and ecclesial context is the 30th anniversary of its announcement (December 7, 1990). The presentation of its contents and their analysis highlighted the uninterrupted continuity of Christ’s missionary command and the unchanging relevance of the message contained in the document regarding the proclamation of the Gospel and the baptism of all people. The necessity of recalling this topic appears inevitably, taking into account the internal condition of the Church, as a result of which the mandate entrusted to all Christians loses its power and seriousness. As a result, due to the weakening of missionary awareness and responsibility manifesting itself within the Church, it seems necessary and absolutely essential to remind and refer to the encyclical of John Paul II in order to awaken among Catholics the awareness of the mission of announcing the Gospel given to them.

In this article we present the contemporary approach to the theological understanding of the concept of person according to the theodramatical current of thought represented by H. U. von Balthasar and J. Tischner. We describe the basic anthropological (agathological–dialogical) and teological (christological– trinitological) aspects characteristic for the approach of both authors. We pay a particular attention to the original contribution of Balthasar and Tischner in the analyzed problem, especially as far as the application of theatrological terminology to the considerations regarding the theological notion of person is concerned. The axis of the analysis is the comparison of the two key theatrological–theological analogies regarding the notion of person introduced by the above mentioned authors concerning respectively the relation role–mission (Balthasar) and mask–face (Tischner).

Opis:
The Gospel of St Mark discusses two issues central to our understanding of Christian discipleship. On the one hand the Gospel tries to address the question of the identity of Jesus asking “who actually is he” (cf. Mk 8:27-30)? On the other hand the author strives to answer the dilemma of who is, or rather who should become, the disciple of Jesus? The aforementioned verb apostellō that can be translated “to send” is used in evangelist’s pursuit to characterize the ideal disciple.. This study is the first in the tetralogy of articles on the meaning of verb apostellō in the Gospel of Mark, in the context of Jesus’ disciples. This first article in the series analyses the meaning of this verb in Greek and Hebrew world -in the New Testament and in the writings of the Church Fathers. The second text will provide the analysis of the pericopes which employ the verb apostellō when referring to the disciples of Jesus (Mk 3:13-19, 6:7-13, 11:1-11, 14:12-16). The third study will investigate the circumstances of sending them out by Jesus on missions. Finally, the last article in the series will focus on the goals and the achievements of the disciples’ missions. It will also contain analytical summary that will reconstruct the meaning of the verb apostellō in the context of the entire Gospel of Mark.

Te verb αποστέλλω appears on nearly twenty occasions in the Gospel according to Mark but only in four instances it is used in the context of sending out the disciples namely in the stories on: a. establishment of the Twelve (Mk 3,13-19), b. dispatching the disciples(Mk 6,7-13), c. solemn entry of Jesus to Jerusalem (Mk 11,1-11), and d. preparations for Passover (Mk 14,12-16). This article is focused on analyzing the above-listed perycopes, particularly where they use the verb αποστέλλω. Te analysis is based on the synchronistic method of approaching biblical text which breaks the analytical process into several stages such as: delimitation, textual criticism, structural determination and synoptic comparison.Te analysis of the four perycopes, presented in this article, is essential for developing subsequent parts of the planned series of articles, which is devoted to the meaning of the verb ἀποστέλλω, llw in the context of Jesus’ teachings in the Gospel According to Mark.

The process of restructuring the Vatican media has continued for several years. The Secretariat for Communication has initiated changes in the structures and programs of all media entities that have operated in the Vatican. The reform radically changes the media strategy of the Holy See. One of the challenges is the missionary function of the Vatican media, so far carried out by Vatican Radio in a very effective way. A brief presentation of the reform shows the ideas guiding this transformation. The most important factor is the openness of today’s world to the Internet and social media. However, it seems that new technologies are not always fully suitable for the “missionary world”, especially in many places in Africa. For this reason it seems important to find a new efficient way of proceeding. Retaining these, Vatican Radio should continue to be a very significant factor in the missionary activities of the Church.

According to the predictions over 50% of the world’s population will have internet access in 2016, while the number of social media users on a global level increases at a rate of 100 million per month. On average, the time that people spend daily on social networks and microblogs exceeds that of 2 hours. Use of Internet is not only for leisure, but also to tap into information. Facing this technological evolution, customs and habits, and even the Church – called from its beginning to proclaim the Good News everywhere and always, whatever the circumstances and means available – must ask not only about what is the best way to live in this new world, but also how to influence it positively. This contribution, meant to be explorative but certainly not exhaustive, seeks to offer food for thought in order to respond to these needs. After having painted the media landscape that we find ourselves viewing, verifying the informative nature of the Church and recalling her essential evangelical mission, we will affirm some possible proposals for “citizenship” in new media. Such proposals are made in light of the Magisterium with particular reference to Pope Francis’ Apostolic Exhortation Evangelii gaudium.
Według prognoz ponad 50% światowej populacji będzie miała dostęp do Internetu w 2016 r., podczas gdy liczba użytkowników social media w skali globalnej wzrasta w rytmie 100 mln każdego miesiąca.

Opis:
On 22 February 1998, the Congregation for the Clergy published the Directory for the Ministry and Life of Permanent Deacons. The document, which is divided into four parts, presents the juridical status of the Deacon, together with his ministry, spirituality and ongoing formation. According to the Directory, the diaconate has its source in the consecration and mission of Christ, wherein the Deacon is called to participate. Through the imposition of hands and the prayer of consecration, he is constituted a sacred minister and a member of the hierarchy. This condition determines his theological and juridical status in the Church. At the moment of Admission to Candidacy, all prospective Deacons are obliged to clearly express, in writing, their intention to serve the Church for the rest of their lives in a given territorial or personal circumscription, or in an Institute of Consecrated Life, or a Society of Apostolic Life, who have the faculty to incardinate. Acceptance of this written request is reserved for the competent Ordinary of the candidate. Incardination is a juridical bond that has ecclesiological and spiritual value in that it expresses the ministerial commitment of the Deacon to the Church. By virtue of the Order received, Deacons are united together in sacramental fraternity. The status of Deacons also comprises specific obligations and rights, envisioned in cann. 273- 283 of the Code of Canon Law, where it speaks about the obligations and rights of clerics. The Directory recalls the tri-partite description of diaconal ministry given at the Second Vatican Council: service of the Liturgy, the Word and of Charity. Deacons can preside at the Liturgy of the Word, administer Baptisms, conserve and distribute the Eucharist, assist at and bless marriages in the name of the Church, bring Viaticum to the dying, read the Scared Scriptures to the faithful, instruct and exhort the People of God, preside at worship and prayer services, administer sacramentals, preside over funeral and burial rites, together with performing works of charity and support. The document by the Congregation for the Clergy underlines that diaconal spirituality has its foundation in the sacramental grace that is engraved in the Deacon’s soul, calling him to a complete gift of his person in the service of God in the Church. This spirituality is eminently Christological as it is intimately characterised by a spirit of service. With the diaconate, one seeks to imitate Christ who came to serve and not to be served. The Directory for the Ministry and Life of Permanent Deacons highlights the importance of ongoing formation for Deacons. Commitment is required here in continuity with the supernatural calling to a ministry of service in the Church, which together with initial formation, form part of a singular and organic Christian and diaconal journey. The document delineates four stages of formation: human, spiritual, intellectual and pastoral. The ecclesiastical norms recall that ongoing formation has the following characteristics: obligatory, universal, interdisciplinary, profound, scientific and propaedeutic of apostolic life. Deacons themselves are the primary agents of their ongoing formation, along their perennial journey of conversion. By their side stand the bishop and his Presbyterate, who have the task of helping them overcome any dualism or rupture between their secular lives and their diaconal spirituality, whilst also aiding them to respond generously to the demands and the responsibilities that the Lord has entrusted to them through the Sacrament of Holy Orders.
