    Opis:
    The article is devoted to analysis the features of the modern youth labor market in Ukraine and to determine the factors that influence on it. In the paper the requirement of regulation of youth employment in the labor market of Ukraine is substantiated. It defined as a targeted influence on the behavior of the youth segment of the labor market in order to ensure the highest possible level of youth employment that will improve the quality of life and create the basis for sustainable economic development. The main problems of employment and social protection of youth in Ukraine were studied. The necessity of improving monitoring and forecasting of the youth labor market were grounded. The proposals to improve the competitiveness of young people in the labor market and encouraging employers to create new jobs are provided. The main directions of overcoming the imbalance of the youth labor market measures of state regulation were determined. The main priorities of regulation of youth employment in the labor market of Ukraine are: increasing of the competitiveness of young people on the labor market; development of competences for job placement; expansion of flexible forms of employment; stimulation of self-employment; balancing of labor markets and education services; improvement of information support of employment.

    The paper is devoted to the state of youth employment in Ukraine. The analysis covers the period from 2004 to 2015. The aim of this paper is to describe and analyze the developmental trends, asymmetries and impact factors of youth employment in Ukraine. For the most part, the developmental trends of youth employment in Ukraine are typical of the general tendencies throughout the world, but some of these trends are specific only to Ukraine. The asymmetries of youth employment are researched in detail in connection with the problem of the interaction of the labour market and the education market. The competence approach is proposed as the main tool for integrating all subjects of the labour market and the education market to work on overcoming existing asymmetries in the youth labor market.
    Przedmiotem artykułu jest problematyka bezrobocia młodych osób na Ukrainie. Analiza obejmuje lata 2004-2015. Celem artykułu jest prześledzenie trendów rozwojowych, nie-równości i uwarunkowań bezrobocia młodych w tym kraju. Uwarunkowania bezrobocia ukraińskiej młodzieży wpisują się w znacznym stopniu w tendencje ogólnoświatowe, jed-nak część z nich jest specyficzna dla Ukrainy. Nierównowaga w zatrudnienia młodych osób na Ukrainie jest w artykule analizowana w z perspektywy związków między rynkiem pracy a rynkiem usług edukacyjnych. Autorzy proponują koncepcję badania kompetencji, jako narzędzia analitycznego, które łączy pozycję podmiotów na rynku pracy oraz na rynku usług edukacyjnych. Koncepcja ta jest w artykule zastosowana także w celu zaproponowania działań dla zmniejszenia nierówności sytuacji młodych Ukraińców na rynku pracy.     This article explores the early effects of the pandemic on youth employment and income. First, it considers changes and continuity in both the employment morphology and the actual evolution of hourly earnings during the pandemic peak in 2020 second quarter, and the third quarter rebound. Young workers continue to have the worst employability gradient (informality, temporary work, part-time work, low-skilled tasks) as well as a striking wage gap in the young-adult population. The COVID-19 lockdown halted almost all informal activities; thereby, the lower tail of the distribution, overwhelmingly represented by younger women and low-skilled workers, has been withdrawn from the labour force. Consequently, the average income of young people increases, while at the same time there is a notorious decline in their labour participation in the peak of the pandemic, with only one out of every four young people taking part in the labour market.
    Este artículo explora los primeros efectos de la pandemia en el empleo y los ingresos de los jóvenes. En primer lugar, se consideran los cambios y las continuidades tanto en la morfología del empleo como en la evolución de los ingresos laborales reales por hora durante el pico de la pandemia en el segundo trimestre de 2020 y la recuperación del tercero. Los jóvenes continúan teniendo el peor gradiente de empleabilidad (informalidad, trabajo temporal, a tiempo parcial, tareas poco calificadas) como una notoria brecha de ingresos respecto a la población adulta. El efecto del cierre por la pandemia descontinuó casi todas las actividades informales; al retirarse la cola más baja de la distribución, representada, abrumadoramente, por las mujeres jóvenes y los trabajadores poco cualificados, los ingresos laborales medios de los jóvenes aumentan, mientras que el descenso de la participación laboral fue notable, por caso sólo uno de cada cuatro jóvenes participó en el mercado laboral.

    The peculiarities of the transit of Ukrainian youth from education to labour activity and its specificity in Ukraine are studied in this article. An actual situation of the youth segment of the labour market and main causes of youth unemployment, in particular by age groups 15-24, 25-30, 30-34 are analyzed by the authors. Theoretical principles of the transit of Ukrainian youth from education to decent employment, classification features developed by the ILO for differentiation of processes of integration of young people into the labour market are considered. Essence of transit, criteria of decent employment, stages of transition from education to work and three stages of transit are determined. The authors propose the measures to improve the situation with youth employment, to regulate youth unemployment and to increase the success of the transition of youth from education to work in Ukraine.

    This paper is based on a study on the effects of unauthorized migration on Latino children and youth’s access to education, healthcare, and livelihoods. The research project aimed at improving understanding of the many nuanced effects of undocumented status on employment and livelihood prospects of Latino youth. Research involved ethnographic fieldwork in three neighborhoods in the larger Washington, DC metropolitan area: Chirilagua, VA, a neighborhood on the border of Alexandria and Arlington in northern Virginia; Langley Park, MD; and Columbia Heights, in DC. In this article we attempt to explore the circumstances faced by Latino youth as they transition into adulthood and analyze the effects of unauthorized status of the young person or other family members on incentives to work and access to the labor market. We argue that while these youth are often pressured to choose waged employment over education in order to contribute to the family’s income, their lack of legal immigration status is an incentive to stay in school for the relatively safe legal environment it affords. Once the decision to work has been made, or graduation from high school has forced them out of the safety net, the limited options for work available to these youth create difficult decisions wherein some seek work in safe environments for less compensation while others choose more formal, higher-paying positions that come with exposure and high risk.
