Opis:
The paper presents an analysis of the levels of vibration on the compressor in the support surface of the American RRC Allison 250-C20R engine built into the SW-4 Puszczyk helicopter. Then, it presents the association of occurring vibrations with their source of origin, and also the comparison of their values with the limit values specified in the operating manual of the helicopter. The methodology of the conducted research and analyses are explained. The essential elements preceding the research, such as determining time courses, on the basis of which the most important parts to conduct the detailed analyses of changes of the basic parameters and compliance with technical conditions, are defined. Moreover, the theoretical issues in terms of determination and description of the characteristic parameters of mechanical vibrations are briefly presented. The typical terms used in the procedures of vibration, description and measurements are explained. The importance of the interpretation of measurements is quite significantly emphasised and the components of the main engine, which were subject to measurement, are indicated. The difficulties in the identification of the vibration due to the high probability of overlapping of vibrations coming from several elements are emphasised. Next, the methodology of measurement is described, in which, among others, mounting points of vibration sensors are presented. The final part of the paper is mainly a graphical presentation of the results, on the basis of which the conclusions are developed. The conclusions show a lack of decisive symptoms indicating the danger at the level of vibrations, and present the future directions of work, which will allow for a more detailed analysis.

Opis:
Contemporary tools which help to design technical objects refer to the conclusions drawn from studying the changes of physical processes accompanying the exploitation, especially to vibroacoustic processes. The main problem is to define such vibroacoustic measures, where their changes would model the analyzed physical phenomena in the best way. Basing on simple indicators which refer to occurring phenomena, it is possible to obtain accurate solutions with a satisfactory reliance level without using complex computing techniques needing detailed descriptors. According to the author, the indicators which are based on the analysis of vibroacoustic energy propagation are very useful in solving engineering problems. These indicators are useful while diagnosing the condition of technical systems, identifying and minimizing the vibroacoustic risks. The possibilities of using such indicators in order to find design solution are illustrated by sample results of the research of the structures with vibroacoustic elements which reduce the noise of rail vehicles by the rail vibration damping.

Opis:
This paper describes the development phases of a numerical-experimental integrated approach aimed at obtaining sufficiently accurate predictions of the noise field emitted by an external gear pump by means of some vibration measurements on its external casing. Harmonic response methods and vibroacoustic analyses were considered as the main tools of this methodology. FFT acceleration spectra were experimentally acquired only in some positions of a 8.5 cc/rev external gear pump casing for some working conditions and considered as external excitation boundary conditions for a FE quite simplified vibroacoustic model. The emitted noise field was computed considering the pump as a ‘black box’, without taking into account the complex dynamics of the gear tooth meshing process and the consequent fluid pressure and load distribution. Sound power tests, based on sound intensity measurements, as well as sound pressure measurements in some positions around the pump casing were performed for validation purposes. The comparisons between numerical and experimental results confirmed the potentiality of this approach in offering a good compromise between noise prediction accuracy and reduction of experimental and modelling requirements.

Therefore, in exploitation process so important investigations of their technical condition are in track which opinion of their usefulness should be made not only to more far exploitation, but also the identification of typical damages. The common used method in practical ways of diagnosing of shock-absorber in article was introduced. There are two methods of investigations: built from and shock-absorber built-in in vehicle suspension. In first method - in support about indicatory graph, the characteristic of suppression be appointive. They are the basis to diagnostic opinion of technical condition of studied damper. In second method the results of investigations have approximate character. From those methods the most often used station control of vehicles in Poland - method post EUSAMA and BOGE in article were described, which used in investigations the harmonic excitatory of vibrations stimulant to vibrations unsprung and sprung masses of vehicle. The car is so folded, vibrate mechanical stimulated by excitator to vibrations arrangement. The vibro-acoustic methods of analyses' of signals in article were introduced, which can be practical in investigations of diagnostic shock-absorber. They are then the method of multidimensional analysis of signal - the Short-Time Fourier Transforms (the STFT), Wigner - Ville'a and Wavelet.

In the paper a vibroacoustic method of diagnostics of the mechanical state of an active part of a transformer is presented. The analysis is performed on the signal of bank vibrations in a transient stage of work of an unloaded transformer - during the first few seconds after connecting to the power supply. The method is based on SSM algorithm (Spectral Subtraction Method) reducing the ‘disturbing’ impact of magnetostriction phenomenon on the measurement. It was concluded that using, in the process of diagnostics of an active part of a transformer unit, only the vibroacoustic method does not provide certain conclusions. Experimental research proved high usefulness of the presented V-SSM method (Vibroacoustic Spectral Subtraction Method) when accompanied by FRA method (Frequency Response Analysis) in winding defect diagnostics.

In the paper, some results achieved during the tests of high-speed marine diesel engine WOLA 57H6Aa type are presented. This type of engine is still broadly use on Polish Navy vessels and on some civilian ships built in Polish shipyards, mostly as auxiliary or emergency generator. Several types of engine malfunction had been simulated especially in fuel injection system and in valve gear mechanism. The malfunctions were connected with fuel valve opening pressure, intake and exhaust valves clearances. During the tests engine speed and load had been changed in tolerant operation range. The tests were devoted to prepare some new diagnostic methods, which could be used on these types of marine diesel engines. Diagnostic methods, which based on vibration and acoustic signals analysis are usually sensitive on engine load and speed changes. During the tests, different methods based on vibration and acoustic signals processing in frequency domain were used. Set of applications possible to use by B&K PULSE system together with acoustic and vibration sensors were applied to analyse of signals changing by different types of simulated malfunctions. Aim of the research was to check if the acoustic and vibration signals generated by the engine systems and components analysed by B&K PULSE system with CPB measurement give possibility to find such parameters, which are unequivocal, strongly connected with different object structure parameters, easy to asses and measure.

Personal cars are the largest group of vehicles on the road. Every year a significant increase in this group of vehicles enforces the need to shorten the time of the study of the technical condition on vehicle inspection stations. One of the major components checked during the inspection is vehicle suspension that has a decisive influence on the comfort and safety. Currently, vehicle inspection stations to assess the condition of the suspension mainly use EUSAMA method, which allows obtaining approximate results. The paper presents the verification of the effectiveness and operation of the developed method called Procedure of Matrix Decimation (PMD), which allows for useful application of research results using FFT spectral analysis of nonstationary, transient signals recorded on the vehicle during the EUSAMA test method. Verification of this method of signal processing was done with the use of vibration signals recorded on the vehicle during the EUSAMA test method on vehicle inspection stations. It consists of a comparison of the FFT spectra obtained for the secondary signal (after processing method based on PMD) with STFT analyzes made for the original signal.

This article presents the results of research connected with the development and industrial use of vibroacoustic methods for the evaluation of the technical condition of the active part of transformers. The article presents the results of the analysis of vibrations generated by the high power transformer in which a defect was found on the basis of tests of oil carried out using the chromatography tests. In order to confirm the damage of the active part of this transformer, vibroacoustic measurements were performed in three states of its operation. The measurement using the classical vibroacoustic method included the registration of vibrations at the idle speed and during the load operation of the transformer. The original diagnostic method, so-called the modified vibroacoustic method, was also used during the measurement. The analysis of signals recorded using the classical vibroacoustic method was carried out in the frequency domain by indicating the amplitude of even harmonic vibrations. However, the analysis of signals measured during the commissioning of the transformer was conducted in the time-frequency domain using the short-time Fourier transform (STFT), continuous wavelet transform (CWT), and discrete wavelet transform (DWT). On the basis of the analysis of the results obtained it was stated that the increased level of vibrations of this transformer is a consequence of the loss of rigidity of the mechanical structure of its core.

Opis:
A vibroacoustic signal of an internal combustion engine contains several diagnostic information, which are -for the most part - not utilised since they require complex processing methods in order to separate useful data and to eliminate disturbances. The way of analysis ofsuch complex signal depends on the diagnostic aim. It is a rich source of information not only concerning the combustion process, but also various mechanical defects occurring in the driving system (valves, clutch, gearbox). Wear of elements as well as small mechanical defects cause the adaptation of the control system to new parameters. Thus, in many cases these adaptive systems can be masking mechanical defects. Burning out of exhaust valves or an improper valve clearance are examples of such defects. The method of diagnostics of leakages in a system: exhaust valve - cylinder, on the basis of measuring the vibration signal of the engine head is proposed in the paper. The results of the analysis of the engine vibration signal under conditions of a defected exhaust valve and an increased valve clearance are presented. The active diagnostic experiment was performed on the engine of Fiat Punto 1.2. During road tests the vibrations acceleration signal was recorded as well as certain auxiliary signals used for a synchronisation and identification of engine timing. The natural acceleration of vibrations in the resonance frequency range of the piezoelectric sensor was utilized. The vibration signal was pre-processed i.e. filtered, synchronously averaged and windowed. Satisfying diagnostic results of the valve defect or the improper valve clearance were obtained on the basis of the analysis of the engine vibration acceleration signal envelope. The signal measures explicitly indicating the valve condition were determined. The method, after certain modifications, can be applied for the on-line valve diagnostics.

Opis:
Vibroacoustic signal of reciprocating engine carries diagnostic information that is not efficiently used because of complicated signal processing methods for separation of useful components and noise elimination. The measured vibrations are a mixture of periodic waves due to the rotating components and transient waves due to the reciprocating components of the engine and pressure forces. Engine vibrations may be described in several ways depend on the diagnostic purpose. For detecting non-uniform cylinder operation, for instance, the methods for rotating machines can be considered. Many transients occur in vibration signal of the combustion engine like exhaust and inlet valve operations, fuel injection, combustion, piston slap. To analyze them the time-frequency methods can be used. Diagnosing of some damages, like valve clearance changing or valve burning, can be done using the diagnostic model. This model should be rather simple and sensitive to mentioned damages. In modelling two approaches can be considered. The first one is based on the real physical parameters of the system. The second one is making the abstractive statistical model of signal with abstractive parameters. In the paper the autoregressive model is proposed. Identifying model is finding periodically time-varying coefficients of the equivalent filter. All the damages in the system make changes of the coefficients. The model presented in the paper is illustrated with the signal of spark ignition combustion engine.
