Opis:
The development of transport infrastructure strengthens the technogenic burden on the environment. Waste, thaw and rain waters from vehicle transport enterprises, such as car-washing installations, petrol stations, and car service stations may pollute ground and surface waters, and adjacent landscapes. The article presents quality parameters and suggests a number of measures permitting to minimize the harmful impact on the environment. The purpose is to improve the reagent treatment technology applicable to surface runoff from vehicle transport enterprises and the reuse of circulating waters by improving well-known methods with original technological procedures and chemical reagents. Research methods include the use of potentiometry, titrometry, and gravimetry. The investigation has shown the possibility to increase the efficiency of runoff treatment and removal of suspended particles and dissolved organic matter by 20–30%. This can be achieved by the application of a permanent magnetic field of 30–40 mT and the subsequent processing by the solution of aluminum chlorohydrate. Optimum parameters have been determined regarding magnetic field and processing conditions. It has been proven that the use of aluminum chlorohydrate in combination with polyhexamethyleneguanidine hydrochloride simplifies substantially the technological cycle. A better treatment can be achieved in comparison with the usual coagulant by 25%. Heavy metal ions are removed from water and the method includes microbiological disinfection and preservation of water in storage reservoirs. The improved technological scheme suggests the reagent treatment of storm and circulating waters for their repeated use.

Background: The paper presents the correlation between selected types of cargo transport by vehicle transport in Poland in the period 2008-2017 and selected factors influencing the types of cargo transport. The aim of this paper is to determine the correlation between vehicle transport of food products and of palletized goods, vehicle transport in total and gross domestic product (GDP). Methods: Decomposition was conducted using the LMDI method (Logarithmic Mean Divisia Index). Three indicators were used in the analysis. The first was related to the increase and decrease in the interest in vehicle transport of food products and palletized products, the second was related to vehicle transport in general, and the third was related to changes in gross domestic product (GDP). Results: The yearly average increase in the transport of food products in the period 2008-2017 was approximately 3.31 billion tonne-km/year and palletized goods was approximately 8.02 billion tonne-km/year. Decomposition analysis proved that the reasons for these increases are related 50% and 54% respectively to the increase in GDP, in 33% and 35% respectively to the increase of whole vehicle cargo transport and only in 17% and 11% to the interest shown by enterprises in this specific type of cargo transport. Conclusions: The results of the analysis show that the main reason for the high increase in the transport of palletized goods and food products is the increase in economic growth expressed in GDP. The increase in vehicle transport in total has a smaller input, and the interest of enterprises in this specific type of cargo transport is the third reason in terms of its importance.
Wstęp: Artykuł analizuje korelacje pomiędzy wybranymi rodzajami przewozu ładunków transportem samochodowym w Polsce w latach 2008-2017, a określonymi czynnikami wpływającymi na rodzaje przewozów ładunkowych. Celem pracy jest określenie korelacji pomiędzy przewozami transportem samochodowym produktów spożywczych oraz spaletyzowanych, transportem samochodowym ogółem i PKB (Produkt Krajowy Brutto) oraz korelacji pomiędzy tak dobranymi zmiennymi. Metody: Dekompozycję wykonano metodą logarytmicznej średniej ważonej indeksu Divisia LMDI (Logarithmic Mean Divisia Index). W analizie wykorzystano trzy wskaźniki. Jeden odnosił się do wzrostu lub spadku zainteresowania transportem samochodowym w przewozie produktów spożywczych lub ładunków spaletyzowanych, drugi odnosił się do transportu samochodowego ogółem, a trzeci do zmian PKB. Wyniki: Średnio roczne przyrosty przewozów produktów spożywczych w latach 2008-17 kształtują się na poziomie 3,31 mld tkm/rok, a przewozów ładunków paletowych 8,02 mld tkm/rok. Analiza dekompozycyjna wskazuje, że przyrosty te wynikają odpowiednio w 50% i 54% ze wzrostu PKB, w 33% i 35% ze wzrostów przewozów samochodowych ładunków ogółem, a tylko w 17 % i 11% ze wzrostu zainteresowania przedsiębiorstw danym rodzajem gałęzi transportu w przewozach ładunków. Wnioski: Wyniki przeprowadzonych analiz wykazują, że główną przyczyną wysokiego wzrostu przewozów produktów spożywczych oraz ładunków na paletach jest wzrost rozwoju gospodarczego wyrażonego w PKB. W mniejszym natomiast stopniu wpływa na to rozwój przewozów samochodowych ogółem, a dopiero trzecim czynnikiem rozwoju jest większe zainteresowanie przedsiębiorstw danym rodzajem przewozów.

While using and after withdrawing from service technical objects, the technical objects causing ecological risk. In order to minimize the negative impact the technical object on the environment and achieve high level of recyclability, the specific steps should be undertaken in the design phase. The legal aspects of recycling process in case of vehicle were discussed. The disassembly process was discussed in case of fork lift truck. Two main characteristics influencing recyclability and a few categories were chosen for their evaluation. With using two main characteristics and their categories the parts susceptible and not susceptible for recycling can be found out.
Obiekty techniczne w trakcie ich eksploatacji jak i po jej zakończeniu niosą ze sobą zagrożenie ekologiczne. W celu minimalizacji negatywnego wpływu obiektów technicznych na środowisko już na etapie ich projektowania powinno się podejmować działania umożliwiające osiagnięcie wysokiego poziomu podatności recyklingowej. W artykule omówiono aspekt prawny recyklingu urządzen i pojazdów transportowych oraz charakterystykę procesu demontażu wózka widłowego. Zaproponowano dwie główne cechy wpływajżące na podatność recyklingową i dobrano kategorie ich oceny. Przy wykorzystaniu tych danych, można poselekcjonować części na podatne i niepodatne na recykling.

Opis:
Process of designing of vehicle suspension as a combination of springs and dampers is a very complicated task. In general it requires designing system respecting good ride comfort and good handling at the same time. It is obvious that these two aspects are dependent also of the type of the road on which vehicle is riding. Especially it is important in city buses which are workplaces for bus drivers and each day are transporting thousands of people. Bus suspension system is quite different from car suspension. Because of the mass and size instead of traditional springs, pneumatics springs are used. In some cases, values of damping and stiffness of the spring are adjusted to the proper road in a real bus while driving. It is necessary nowadays to have a virtual assessment that can simulate "bus suspension behaviour" to abstracted suspension parameters such as springs and dampers characteristics. In this paper a multibody model of city bus suspension has been presented. Multibody models are the best way of simulation of dynamic behaviour of the vehicle. Simulations showing how different types of the road affect the structure of the vehicle have been performed. Such prepared model can be then use as an input for optimization of the bus suspension in terms of ride comfort, handling, or even passengers' safety.

Wood-based panels are widely used in the transport sector, thanks in particular to their properties in terms of lightness and mechanical strength. Furthermore, they offer additional benefits, such as sound insulation or fire resistance. The present paper takes into account the different wood-based panels used for building the main typologies of land transport vehicles: buses and cars, trucks and other commercial vehicles, motorhomes and caravans, and railways vehicles. The aim here is to give an overview of these products, their historical and current uses, as well as taking into account future developments.

The article presents the methodologies based on multi-body systems used to analyze the dynamics of rail vehicle in motion in a straight line. Study of the railway vehicles dynamics requires the creation of three mutually independent models: the model of the vehicle, the track model and a model of the wheel - rail contact. A railway vehicle model developed in the multi-body systems convention was an electric locomotive of the EU07symbol The general software model of the wheel - rail contact was programmed and is presented, which allows one in the course ofanalysis to determine the coordinates ofthe contact point between wheel and rail and thus the designation of the wheel forces in contact with the rail. The model ofthe contact forces includes normal force with damping hysteresis and tangential forces determined by the Polach method. Developed models were implemented in Matlab program environment. The numerical simulations were performer for the complete vehicle and a single bogie steady state conditions.

This paper presents the chosen significant parameters affecting vehicle fuel consumption during the vehicle operation. The conducted measurement results define important practical operational functions in the actual operation of the vehicle, which allows for further processing of the input data in order to measure fuel consumption in laboratory tests. The proposal of the methodology for measuring the fuel consumption based on actual operation conditions in the city of Žilina and its surroundings was shown.

The purpose fulness as well as necessity of cars safety determination has been exhibited. Moreover, the principles of the flnite element method (FEM) have been explained as well as its usefulness as a crash testing simulation tool. The programs which have been established in order to explore possibilities of virtual testing have been described. The paper contains the designs of the large vehicles passive safety devices. The problems concerning simulations of large vehicles — cars accidents have been emphasized. Moreover, the conversion of the experimental testing in to the virtual testing has been pointed out along with its advantages and disadvantages. Furthermore, the paper describes the proposition of the safety improvement in case large vehicle -  car accidents investigated with aid of virtual crash testing. The last mentioned system is especially important in terms of truck tractor with a trailer where slipping is very dangerous due to the fact that it can cause breaking the connection and in conseguence roll over. Another, new solution which improves passive safety could be the "active bumper ". The passive safety devices are necessary to reduce danger as well as provide passengers with maximum possible comfort what but a way also improves safety.

Road safety is an important social issue. Hence, changes in road traffic rules have a large influence on travel safety improvement. One of the major issues to be addressed is the speed limit of motor vehicles and radar speed measurements. Moreover, road traffic rules impose the obligation to wear safety belts during driving, carrying children in car safety seats and they put a ban on drink driving as well as driving under the influence of other intoxicating substances that have a negative influence on the driver’s physical condition and driving skills. This study analyses changes in traffic rules and provides assessment of the way they affect road traffic safety in Poland. The study presents an analysis of the issues connected with road vehicle operation and safety of the passengers including: wearing safety seat belts, use of children car safety seats, vehicle lighting, speed limit. Such issues as the proposed changes in breathalyzer use and implementation of safety systems to provide road users with safety have been addressed.

The article presents expert estimates for 2010 and a forecast up to year 2030 regarding the number of passenger cars as well as trucks and special vehicles and buses according to the maximum weight group. In case of trucks and special vehicles, included were vehicles with maximum weight of less than 3.5 Mg and maximum weight of more than 3.5 Mg. As regards buses – the condition and forecast number of buses with maximum weight of less than 5.0 Mg and more than 5.0 Mg was presented. The forecast concerning passenger cars and other types of vehicles with maximum weight of less than 3.5 Mg (5.0 Mg in case of buses) focused on the number of vehicles by type of energy. The following types of energy were included: petrol, diesel oil, LPG, NG and electrical energy in case of passenger cars and light duty trucks. Estimates also included the average annual statistical mileage of a vehicle registered in Poland according to the specified category and type of energy. Based on the assumed assumptions in the 2030 perspective – the average fuel consumption was determined per 100 km of statistical mileage in every specified category. The predicted consumption of respective types of energy by the overall Polish car fleet was calculated and according to the specified category in years 2015, 2020, 2025 and 2030.

In the article the author presents the analysis of persona! commuting vehicles produced nowadays. The analysis comprises their purposes, functionality, comfort and construction solution of the following elements: drive and sleering system, suspension and batteries. The evolution of a vehicle regarding the space necessary for its manoeuvres and parking is the essential parameter of the analysis. The concept of a city vehicle worked out at the Cracow University of Technology is presented in the further part of the article. The vehicle that has been constructed belongs to L6e category. In the article two concepts of such vehicle are presented - a vehicle for a single person and "a tandem " type of vehicle for two persons. The result of introductory tests of a function model worked out on the basis of a concept model is also presented. The function of the frame and its shape is to make possible for the front of vehicle to enter the back of the other one. Construction solution of this type also reduced the space necessary for parking. Two concepts of front suspension system - rotation axle and suspension with swivel axle were evaluated. Manoeuvrability and stability of rectilinear of rectilinear motion were taken into account. The results that were obtained make drawing conclusion referring to further development of such vehicle possible.

The procedure for calculation of a car maximal acceleration during speeding up with changing shifts of a gearbox in dependence on several independent parameters has been presented in the paper.  The parameters taken into consideration are the angle of a road slope and the additional vehicle load. The maximal acceleration for investigated vehicle category has been calculdted on the basis of many numerical simulations. During these simulations the dynamics of vehicle motion has been modelled for different road conditions. In order to approximate the results of acceleration the power polynomials were applied.  The least sąuare method has been used in calculations of polynomial coefficients. The results of modelling of the vehicles dynamics concern two passenger cars and one heavy duty car. Simulations of speeding up were obtained using the model of vehicle dynamics. Especially, model of vehicle, the traction characteristic of the passenger car with SI engine, the maximal driving force on  wheels during vehicle acceleration calculated on the basis of traction characteristic,   the maximal acceleration of the passenger cars and according to the model of vehicle dynamics during speeding up with changing shifts of a gearbox in dependence on different parameters of road slope and vehicle load are presented in the paper.

Purpose: The aim of the work is to present selected research results of the first stage of work, the so-called pre-design research related to the implementation of electric vehicles into the company's fleet. Design/methodology/approach: the article presents inconsistencies and problems related to the use of electric buses as well as problems related to point infrastructure. The results of the research were obtained from the observations of the analyzed transport processes, the process of fleet management, from interviews with employees, as well as from the analysis of documentation and comparison of records with the actual state. Findings: The results confirm that the effective elimination of nonconformities leads to the improvement of the process quality and the reduction of costs related to vehicle breakdowns. Research limitations/implications: The research indicates the need for continuous improvement of the process of using electric vehicles. Validation studies have confirmed that it is impossible to eliminate all problems, therefore the process should be constantly improved. Originality/value. The article indicates the need to amend the subsequent projects and the current methodology of the procedure.
