The paper presents a concept of diagnostic network models. This class of models consists of statement networks in which nodes represent statements concerning an object. The advantages of such models were enumerated and, in particular, their usefulness in collaborative research on knowledge acquisition was emphasized. Furthermore, not only the significance of dictionaries of statements contents, but also the purposefulness of supporting the development process of the models in question through definition of ontology referring to the studied objects was discussed.

The transition from the linear model to the circular economy (CE) model is not an easy task and it requires constant monitoring of the achieved effects. Taking this fact into consideration, in January 2018 the European Union (EU) set 10 indicators to monitor and evaluate the main elements of the circular economy in the EU and its Member States. The list of indicators is short and it is based on the use of current available data. The monitoring results are intended to constitute the basis for setting new priorities towards the long-term goal of the circular economy. In case of companies there is still no framework for monitoring the effects of circular economy at micro level. In practice, various indicators for circularity assessment at micro level are available, but each of the indicators evaluates the complexity of circular economy to different extent. For this reason, there is a need to create a framework for monitoring the circular economy at company level, which would also be based on information already collected by the companies for the preparation of various environmental reports. Therefore, this article presents the results of review 66 environmental statements, which are prepared and updated annually by organizations participating in the Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) system in Poland. On this basis, it was determined what circular economy information are already collected and reported by the companies and which information can be included in the framework of circular economy monitoring at company level in the future.

MISSION STATEMENT
Opis:
Mission statements present an easily and publicly available communication message regarding the stated purpose of organizations. This study examined 70 mission statements of the Taiwanese community colleges. Through the rationale of content analysis methodology, the researchers found 21 mission characteristics emerged from the data. The researchers also analysed the extent to which the characteristics of missions changed over the years, and found 2001-2004 was the key period of time when community colleges started to show greater attention to particular issues and populations. The study further investigated the extent to which mission statements were similar and the extent to which they were different, given the references to urbanity and modes of management.

The Seville Statement on Violence (SSV) was originated by a launched UN-Committee of the International Society for Research on Aggression (ISRA) in the late seventies of the past century. Its final product, elaborated by more than twenty scholars from different scientific disciplines and from all continents, was presented in 1986 at the VI Coloquio Internacional sobre Cerebro y Agresión (CICA) in Seville. Three years later, it was endorsed by the 25th General Conference of UNESCO in Paris. Its main message was that violence, and consequently war too, are avoidable and aggressiveness can be tamed. The present article comments what were the main reasons which urged to elaborate it, and some difficulties found on the way.

The aim of this paper is to compare the statutory conditions for the reporting of accounting information pursuant to Czech legislation and the international financial reporting standards (IFRS/IAS). The paper is divided into three parts. The first part deals with the comparison of basic preconditions for submission, compilation and publishing of financial statements pursuant to the principles of Czech legislation and the international financial reporting standards (IFRS/IAS). It is followed by a comparative analysis aimed at the statement of financial position. Finally the last part compares the requirements imposed on the contents and scope of the appendices to the financial statements. At the end of this paper the most significant differences of financial reporting according to Czech legislation and IFRS/ IAS are presented. The aim of this paper is not to research and quantify impacts of different reporting of individual accounting items.

The paper demonstrates briefly the reasoning capabilities in condition monitoring offered by systems based on statement networks. The usefulness of the networks considered results among others from possibilities of their optimization related to the minimization of contradictions between rules acquired from different knowledge sources. A mechanical analogy of such networks introduces an interpretation of statements as material points that are able to move. Dependencies between statements are considered as approximate necessary and approximate sufficient conditions, which are represented by unilateral constraints imposed on the introduced material points. A model of a dynamic statement network can be obtained out of the network consisting of statements represented by material points with assigned masses, where the inertia of statements may be taken into account. The paper introduces a measure of conditional contradictions of statements, which can be used for monitoring knowledge bases in running expert systems.

Mission statement is an element of the strategic management, the basis for the strategic development of university. Mission statement provides orientation and increases the motivation of the members of university. The results of the research prove that the mission statement of universities must be developed in an open discussion with the participation of the members of university. The most popular commitments of the mission statement are equal rights and opportunities for men and women, internationality, unity of research and teaching, quality assurance, interdisciplinarity. Analysis of the content of mission statements which were formulated during the last years shows that they propose a partnership relationship between the administration of university and its members.

The article is focused on application psychological intercultural approach based on cross – cultural challenges. In the paper the theory, procedures were presented and what is most interested one example of real organisation which can be called “intercultural competence excellence”. In the first part of the paper, the report and “working’ definition of intercultural competencies are described and intercultural approach based on Bennet, Deardorff and Heyward were presented. Having a framework of intercultural competence such as these presented and discussed above, the criteria of ICC was presented. They was used to described the CICA as an organisation. The real example can be helpful in ensuring a more comprehensive, integrated approach in everyday work and life and promoting a better cross-cultural dialogue.

A recent amendment to the Act of Competition and Consumer Protection of 2007, which entered into force in January 2015, brought with it a number of changes to the Polish competition law system introducing, among other things, several new legal institutions. This development created the need to issue new soft law guidelines in order to give some clarity as to their application. At the same time, certain pre-existing soft law guidelines of the Polish Competition Authority – the President of the UOKiK – needed updating in order to make them applicable to the new legal conditions. The aforementioned legislative changes were accompanied by an official UOKiK policy statement of openness and transparency. Given this objective, the UOKiK President provided a set of best practices for the Authority, in particular as regards its relations with undertakings. The aim of this paper is to critically review the newly adopted guidelines as well as modifications made to pre-existing soft laws. It emerges from this analysis that although the issuance of any sort of guidelines should be welcomed in general, since it improves legal certainty as to the Authority’s future conduct in individual cases, a number of problems remains which have not been sufficiently or in fact properly addressed.
Une réforme récente de la Loi sur la concurrence et la protection des consommateurs de 2007, qui est entrée en vigueur en janvier 2015, a introduit un certain nombre de changements dans le système polonais du droit de la concurrence, y compris des nouvelles institutions juridiques. Ce développement a créé un besoin de publier les lignes directrices afin de donner une certaine clarté concernant l’application des institutions juridiques qui ont été introduites. En même temps, certaines lignes directrices déjà publiés par l'autorité polonaise de la concurrence - le Président de l'UOKiK - devrait être mises à jour afin de les rendre applicables aux nouvelles conditions juridiques. Les changements législatifs mentionnés cidessus ont été accompagnés par la déclaration officielle de la part de UOKiK portant sur la politique d'ouverture et de transparence. Compte tenu de cet objectif, le Président d’UOKiK a fourni un code de bonnes pratiques pour l’Autorité de la concurrence, notamment en ce qui concerne ses relations avec les entreprises. Le but de cet article est d'examiner de manière critique les nouvelles lignes directrices adoptées par le Président d’UOKiK, ainsi que d’examiner des modifications apportées aux lignes directrices pré-existantes. Il ressort de cette analyse que, même si la publication de toute sorte de lignes directrices doit être appréciée, car elle améliore la sécurité juridique concernant la conduite future de l'Autorité de la concurrence dans des cas individuels, il reste toujours un certain nombre de problèmes qui n’étaient pas suffisamment ou correctement pris en compte.

The aim of the article is to present the issues related to the work of auditors in the area of cost analysis as an element of the financial statement in an enterprise. Empirical studies were conducted on the basis of the financial statements published by selected companies listed on the NewConnect market in 2017, as well as the audit reports issued for those companies. The partial goals include the assessment of the percentage of certain types of opinions issued by independent auditors reviewing the financial statements of selected companies listed, as well as the identification of the areas regarding costs of activities, which are most often described in the explanations or qualified opinions in the research sample under analysis. The undertaken research are preliminary and in the future should be carried out on a larger research sample divided into industry sectors

This paper shows an application of multi-layer statement networks to condition monitoring of the sealless magnetic drive pump. In this case, statement networks are computed based on the use of Bayesian probabilities. Moreover, the tool called REx which allows implementing such networks is described. An example of created four-layer network as well as final results of the performed tests shows also.
