Opis:
The ionically crosslinked membranes were prepared of chitosan (Ch) and trisodium citrate (Ch/CIT). The characteristics of the state of water in crosslinked and uncrosslinked chitosan membranes with different water content was performed by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The kinetics of water swelling in Ch and Ch/CIT membranes were also studied. Conclusions concerning effect of ionic crosslinking on the state of water in chitosan hydrogel membranes were drawn out. Results shows that freezable and non-freezable water exist in analysed Ch and Ch/CIT membranes, while there are variations in the amount of non-freezing bound water in these polymers.

Opis:
An approach to approximate equations of state for water and steam (IAPWS-95) for the calculation of three-dimensional flows of steam in turbomachinery in a range of operation of the present and future steam turbines is described. Test calculations of three-dimensional viscous flow in an LP steam turbine using various equations of state (perfect gas, Van der Waals equation, equation of state for water and steam IAPWS-95) are made. The comparison of numerical results with experimental data is also presented.

The present report was prepared within the framework of research activities carried out in the Maritime Institute in Gdansk, when taking part in the international research project EUREKA E! 3065 INCOWATRANS, the goal of which was working out preliminary designs of new-generation ships for inland and coastal navigation, and preparing technical and economic structure for the revitalisation of inland waterways in Poland, with their further incorporation to the European transportation system. The article aims at analysing the present state and assessing the future potential of cargo routes observed in inland East-West water transport, i.e. between Poland and Western Europe countries.

The paper presents the evaluation of seasonal and long-term changes in selected nutrients of three lakes of the Poznań Lakeland. The lakes were selected due to the high risk of pollution from agricultural and residential areas. Water samples were taken in 6 control points in the spring, summer and autumn, from 2004 to 2014. Trophic status of the lakes was evaluated based on the concentration of nutrients (nitrates, nitrites, ammonium, nitrogen and phosphorus) and indicators of eutrophication. Studies have shown that the concentration of nutrients varied greatly both in individual years and seasons of the analyzed decades, especially in Lakes Niepruszewskie and Pamiątkowskie. The main problem is the high concentration of nitrates. In general, it showed an upward trend until 2013, especially in the spring. This may indicate that actions restricting runoff pollution from agricultural sources have not been fully effective. On the other hand, a marked downward trend in the concentrations of NH4 over the years from 2004 to 2014, especially after 2007, indicates a gradual improvement of wastewater management. Moreover, seasonal variation in NH4 concentrations differed from those of NO3 and NO2. The highest values were reported in the autumn season, the lowest in the summer. Concentrations of nutrients and eutrophication indexes reached high values in all analysed lakes, indicating a eutrophic or hypertrophic state of the lakes. The high value of the N:P ratio indicates that the lakes had a huge surplus of nitrogen, and phosphorus is a productivity limiting factor.

This article presents the concept of the methodology for assessing the implementation of programmes of measures adopted in the State Water and Environmental Programme, and, in consequence, in the framework of the first water management plans for river basin districts in Poland, as approved by the Council of Ministers on 22nd February, 2011, and published in the official journals. The scope of work in the methodology concept primarily concerns two basic analyses: assessment of the accomplishment of programmes of measures with regard to the degree of their accomplishment, and assessment of the effectiveness of scheduled programmes of measures. The level of accomplishment should be understood as the quantitative status of progress of particular measures, whereas effectiveness means their direct or indirect impact on the achievement of environmental goals of the Water Framework Directive. For this purpose, for some of the measures databases and reports existing in institutions responsible for the performance of measures indicated in the SWEP were used. For the rest of the measures, the survey method was used. For the purpose of the surveying process, the preparation of appropriate matrixes with measures marked for institutions, and also of email address databases, were proposed. Also, identifiers serving to link answers with specific areas on maps that trace measures were proposed. The present and forecast situation concerning reporting in the scope of the WFD and other tasks connected with it in the field of environmental protection leads to the conclusion that the coordination of reporting at the state level and the improvement of the flow of information between interested institutions is necessary.

On the basis of the analysis of wide temporal monitoring data, a forecast of the integrated hydrochemical indicators of the waters of the Inhul river (Ukraine) was carried out. The performed analysis was also the basis for the determination of a mathematical model of natural fluctuations of the indicators studied. The determined sinusoidal dependence of the integrated water quality indicators allowed determining the average time of fluctuations concerning the processes of self-organisation of river waters. In practice, the developed mathematical models may constitute a valuable support and supplement to the existing models in the field of prediction of self-organization processes of river waters. They may also contribute to even more effective minimization of undesirable effects of anthropogenic impact on aquatic ecosystems.

The paper titled Operational Preparation of the State Territory and Transport analyzes possible methods of operational preparation of the state territory by means of a descriptive method. It defines the continuity of operational preparation of the state territory to the infrastructure of the Czech Republic, it describes the place and importance of socio-technical infrastructure in the operational preparation of the territory, states the legislative standards under which construction is carried out. The directions of operational preparation of the area from the perspective of road, rail and water transport are described in detail. The paper recommends the process of operational preparation of the state territory not only from the point of view of possible state of war, but also from the point of view of non-military threats.
