    The article is an attempt to reflect on the difficult situation in which special pedagogy was found.     In many contexts of contemporary special education, its main present and future challenges are the implementation of effective inclusive education, the preparation of the required conditions, space and relations of safe functioning of a child with disabilities or special education needs together with healthy, able-bodied peers. Are the long-standing dreams of parents and many special educators regarding the equal rights of all people with disabilities, and in particular the right to education closest to the child’s place of residence, genuinely achieved nowadays? The diagnosis of selected municipal schools shows the real situation of the implementation of inclusive education. Are these successes already being achieved today? Or is it still a educational reality?

    The main goal of this article is description of two educational discourses pertaining to differences, their acceptance and eradication or alleviation. The first is the special needs pedagogy, which has seen a dispute between the enthusiasts of institutional and social integration of the disabled with people, communities and institutions dominated by those within a given norm. The second is characteristic of the critical pedagogy and sociology – concerns people and social groups who are culturally and socially excluded and marginalised, both overtly and covertly.

    The subject of the analysis is the category of the inclusion as a process that does not only apply to people with special developmental or life needs, but also to social sciences, which as a result of the positivist research paradigm have divided and separated from each other. Meanwhile, human upbringing requires the inclusion of biophilic orientation towards life in all social sciences, whose achievements should be considered and applied to improve educational processes. The Author borrows inspiration from the typology of human attitudes of Eric Fromm, because it makes readers aware of the negative effects of necrophilia in interpersonal relationships. The Author analyses Fromm’s approach against the background of selected ideas of Polish pedagogical views.

    The subject of this paper is the disability of the elderly addressed as an exceptionally important social problem. The author describes the disability of aging and old people, presents the history of geragogics and defines the goals and tasks of special geragogics, concluding his work with the characteristics of social policy towards the old age of those disabled.
    Przedmiotem tego artykułu jest niepełnosprawność osób starszych jako niezmiernie ważny problem społeczny. Autor opisał niepełnosprawność osób starzejących się i starych, przedstawił historię geragogiki oraz określił cele i zadania geragogiki specjalnej, zamykając ten tekst charakterystyką polityki społecznej wobec starości osób niepełnosprawnych.
