    Opis:
    The goal of the study was to evaluate intragenic polymorphic sites in COL1A1 and COL1A2 loci. For COL1A1 the following intragenic markers were used: PCR-RFLP (COL1A1), G/A polymorphism in exon 45 of COL1A1 and C/T polymorphism in +88 position of COL1A1 non-translatable 3’ end. For COL1A2 PCR-VNTR was analyzed. 17 families were examined (6 of the "simplex" type and 11 of the "multiple" type). In 8 out of 11 "multiplex" families the segregation of the markers revealed correlation with OI, whereas the other 3 were non-informative. The method was not useful in "simplex" families.

    Opis:
    A cysteine-specific methanethiosulfonate spin label was introduced into yeast iso-1-cytochrome c at three different positions. The modified forms of cytochrome c included: the wild-type protein labeled at naturally occurring C102, and two mutated proteins, S47C and L85C, labeled at positions 47 and 85, respectively (both S47C and L85C derived from the protein in which C102 had been replaced by threonine). All three spin-labeled protein derivatives were characterized using electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) techniques. The continuous wave (CW) EPR spectrum of spin label attached to L85C differed from those recorded for spin label attached to C102 or S47C, indicating that spin label at position 85 was more immobilized and exhibited more complex tumbling than spin label at two other positions. The temperature dependence of the CW EPR spectra and CW EPR power saturation revealed further differences of spin-labeled L85C. The results were discussed in terms of application of the site-directed spin labeling technique in probing the local dynamic structure of iso-1-cytochrome c.

    Opis:
    The first excavation season of a joint project of the PCMA and Department of Archaeology and Excavations, Ministry of Heritage and Culture, Oman, was carried out in the microregion of Qumayrah in the fall of 2016. A single tomb was investigated at an Umm an-Nar period burial site in the area of the village of Al-Ayn. A complete ground-plan was traced, identifying the tomb as an example of a well-known type with interior divided into four burial chambers by crosswalls. The excavated quadrant yielded commingled skeletal remains and mortuary gifts: numerous beads, a number of pottery sherds and a single complete vessel, a few metal objects and a score of stone vessel fragments.

    Opis:
    This article presents two concepts of site development for the „Dębieńsko 1” mining plant including plans for the track system. The first plan was created in 2013 year and mainly assumed the renovation of railway infrastructure, without changing its shape and configuration. In 2014 year it was resigned from realization of the first conception and there was proposed the second plan. It included changes in the existing track system and project of the new system of excavated raw material haulage. This system is successfully using in the USA and provides the better work productivity of a shunting locomotive. In this article also were indicated the advantages and the disadvantages of solutions proposed in the two projects of site development plans. It was denoted the project that has ultimately been chosen with the justification of choice.
    Artykuł prezentuje dwie koncepcje zagospodarowania terenu zakładu górniczego „Dębieńsko 1” zawierające plany układu torowiska. Pierwszy plan powstał w 2013 roku i zakładał głównie odnowienie istniejącej już infrastruktury kolejowej, bez wprowadzania zmian w jej kształcie i ułożeniu. W 2014 roku zrezygnowano z realizacji pierwszej koncepcji i zaproponowano drugi plan. Zawierał on zmiany w istniejącym układzie torów oraz projekt nowego systemu odstawy wydobytego surowca. System ten jest z powodzeniem stosowany w Stanach Zjednoczonych Ameryki Północnej i zapewnia lepszą wydajność pracy zakładowej lokomotywy manewrowej. W artykule tym zidentyfikowano również zalety i wady rozwiązań zaproponowanych w dwóch projektach planów zagospodarowania terenu. Wskazano projekt, który ostatecznie został wybrany wraz z uzasadnieniem jego wyboru.
