The aim of the article is to indicate the importance of the role of the professional environment in shaping social competences. Thus, the research problem refers to the question: what is the role of the professional environment in shaping the social competences of the commanding staff of officers of the Polish Armed Forces? The publication is a continuation of the article Fri "Social competence of the commanding staff of officers of the Polish Armed Forces in the military security system of Poland". In the dynamically changing reality, due to the continuous development of science and technology, the process of professional improvement and updating knowledge is the basis for the effective performance of duties by employees. Opis:
The mini-research deals with the nature, structure and functions of managers’ intercultural professional interaction competence as a form of social interaction. Managers are the leading element in the social interaction "businesses - society", on the one hand, they bear the burden of social responsibility, on the other, they have to sacrifice their individual values to meet the requirements of their companies and company’s owners and make professional decisions that conflict their personal ones. It may lead to “moral schizophrenia‟ [1, p. 25], because managers lack knowledge of social problems, skills of a decision-maker, and experience in this field. The analysis of the scientific research in this field has shown that the term “intercultural competence” is mostly conceptualized as an individual’s capacity to interact with people who represent different cultures. But the term “intercultural professional interaction competence” has not been defined yet. The nature, structure and functions of the phenomenon have been identified on the multidisciplinary approach base as the following: it is a joint productive activity based on agent-agent relations; it is a form of social responsibility; the nature of intercultural professional interaction is communication that has the multilevel structure; each level of the structure has its aim, function, means of interaction that influence the communicating strategy of conversational partners and, therefore, the outcome of intercultural professional interaction. The article highlights pedagogical conditions of training managers intercultural professional interaction as one of managers’ professional competence, such as: 1) creation of intercultural professional communicative learning environment; 2) facilitating communication; 3) students’ self-managed and autonomous learning. The principles specific for training will-be managers the professional intercultural interaction are the principle of the rationality in the relationships and the harmonization of the relationships.

ObjectivesThe aim of the study was to analyze the injury characteristics, satisfaction with social support and environmental factors in elite female handball players in the injury recovery process.Material and MethodsThe retrospective study combined quantitative (questionnaire) and qualitative (interview) methods, and presented 3 distinct perspectives, i.e., those of active players, former players and coaching staff members (SMs). The research sample in the first part consisted of 51 active professional female handball players (aged 26.3±2.6 years) with an injury history. The answers from an online questionnaire were processed according to basic statistical parameters (SPSS). The second part of the study included 9 semi-structured interviews, 6 with former players and 3 with coaching SMs.ResultsAll the 51 active players reported 140 injuries (on average 2.7 injuries/player) in the last 6 years. The recovery time ranged 1 day–10 months. No statistically significant differences were observed between the career length and anterior cruciate ligament tear (χ2–3.18, p = 0.53), and the career length and posterior cruciate ligament tear (χ2–1.87; p = 0.76). The former players’ perceptions of social support and environmental factors are similar to the opinions expressed by the coaching SMs, while the active players held high expectations. The highest level of satisfaction with social support was reported for family members (M±SD 4.35±0.814) and the physiotherapist (M±SD 4.12±3.28), whereas the players were not very satisfied with the social support offered by the head coach (M±SD 2.73±0.75). Coaching SMs considered providing social support as something that exceeded their competences.ConclusionsThe analysis of the injury recovery process indicated a need for a new function in handball clubs – an expert with interdisciplinary competencies, who would contribute to faster recovery and general wellbeing of professional handball players.

Opis:
Objectives This study integrates the Self Determination Theory and the Job Demands–Resource model in explaining motivational antecedents of 2 forms of excessive work: work engagement and workaholism. It specifically examines the relationship between job autonomy, situational work motivation, work engagement, and workaholism. Material and Methods The sample comprised 318 full-time employees of an international outsourcing company located in Poland. The mediation analysis was used for testing hypotheses about the mediation of autonomous and controlled motivation in the relationship between job autonomy, work engagement, and workaholism. Results The results have confirmed that autonomous motivation mediates the relationship between job autonomy and work engagement. The assumption about the mediation role of controlled motivation in the relationship between job autonomy and workaholism has not been confirmed; however, external regulation (i.e., controlled motivation) is a significant predictor of workaholism. Conclusions Giving employees more job autonomy might increase their intrinsic and identified regulation and may therefore lead to more energetic, enthusiastic, and dedicated engagement with their jobs. Workaholism may be predicted by external regulation, and work characteristics other than job autonomy may play an important role in enhancing this controlled type of motivation. Opis:
Although the genesis of connectivism as a theory of learning in the digital age dates back to the early 2000s, in Polish pedagogy this concept remains relatively unknown, sparse in academic debates, and downright rare in empirical research. The main purpose of the article is to present the knowledge and opinions of Polish teachers regarding connectivism. To what extent do Polish teachers know the theory of connective learning? Which of its assumptions do they see as key? To what extent are they willing to apply these assumptions in practice as a path or tool for developing their own professional competences? These research questions were the basis for a survey, the presentation of which constitutes the backbone of this article. The research indicates a clear cognitive dissonance in the minds of the teachers surveyed: the gap between the perception of the potential values of connectivism and the ability/readiness to use its tools in their own learning. The summary of the text contains conclusions for in-service teacher training, which needs to be reorganized to include the most valuable connected learning instruments so as to provide teachers with the skills necessary for successful self-regulated learning in the digital age.

Opis:
Aim. The purpose of the research is to develop and substantiate a theoretical model for the formation of a professional culture of finance students. Methods. The authors used a set of interrelated methods: comparative analysis, comparison and synthesis, appropriate for modelling professional culture as a pedagogical phenomenon, and functional-structural analysis for systematisation of the stages of building the professional culture. A theoretical model of professional culture has been designed and validated. This model consolidates research from studies of motivation, cognitive sciences, organisational behaviour, and values in educational and financial institutions and lays the foundations of finance students’ professional culture formation methodology. Results. The obtained results showed  positive dynamics in the formation components (motivational, creative, organisational and axiological) of the theoretical model of professional culture development. Our findings confirmed that the cultural and educational environment encourages students’ engagement in learning, boosts the development of their motivational and semantic sphere, ensuring the implementation of individual learning trajectories. Conclusion. The complex of methods implemented evidences the educational, cultural, and innovative potential of the college for training and students’ personal and professional development. The structure of the professional culture development model for finance students has driven a reconsideration of the content of their professional training, generation and dissemination of novel methods and technologies. Practical implementation. The research has resulted in changes to the vocational training programmes for college finance students, the introduction of  teaching methods for professional disciplines that proved their efficiency, and development of cooperation with banking institutions, financial and insurance companies.

Opis:
The frequency and strength of the achievement motive for different social groups is different, juxtaposed with professional attitudes, turns out to be an interesting research topic among teachers. The aim of the study was to determine the relationship between attitudes towards teachers’ work and their achievement motivation. The study was conducted in February 2016 among 118 teachers working at Primary School No. 40 Leon Kruczkowski in Lublin and the School Complex Antoni Kwiatkowski in Bychawa. The survey used the Performance motivation questionnaire and the Professional attitude index (KWPZ) questionnaire. It was found that there is a relationship between attitudes towards the work of the surveyed teachers and their motivation for professional achievement. The higher the level of achievement motivation, the more often the surveyed teachers exhibit positive attitudes towards work. The motivation of teacher achievements seems to be important. The undertaken research may be an incentive for subsequent researchers to broaden the subject of motivation and its determinants. The obtained research results can be used to better understand the school environment, understand the rules and mechanisms that shape attitudes towards work.

Many years of experience in trying to reform the representative authorities in Ukraine indicate that the lack of change means stagnation and prevents development. Change is an inevitable element of our lives, but it often causes fear in people. The ability to adapt to and enjoy change shapes our health, happiness and personal dignity much more than anything else. Each of us is given two options to choose from, influence others and as a result, manage change or is allow to other impact on us. It is for this reason that representative bodies in Ukraine need to be created conditions for the arrival of representatives of the new, ie professional public, management. It must be based on leadership, because it is not so much about younger people, but about new professionals who are able to adapt to change and function effectively in changing conditions and situations. At the same time, they must have a clear understanding of the axiom that the success of their activities lies in teamwork and continuous self-development and self-improvement. It is obvious that a modern representative of public authorities in general and local governments in particular must be a person who seeks to create a favorable leadership environment in order to unite all communities interested in addressing socially significant issues. And such a representative who understands that he will not succeed if he will thoughtlessly, automatically, copy someone’s style and thoughtlessly imitate anyone. The article analyzes the experience of forming a favorable leadership environment in the stand. The main tools of uniting people for solving socially significant issues in representative authorities are substantiated. The priority directions of formation of a favorable leadership environment in the stand are identified.

Opis:
Online learning is increasingly solicited around the world within and across several sectors. It also involves higher education (HE), as it operates in a global, unstable environment, where communication and information technology are the fundamental keys. This study seeks to examine the Moroccan employees’ perception of this innovative way of learning and its impact on their professional development. It also aims at investigating the presence of distance learning as an approach growing in popularity within the administration of Moroccan universities. This qualitative study uses a semi-structured interview with 76 employees in seven Moroccan Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The results reveal that the majority of participants have rarely used online learning, in spite of their willingness and insistence on its positive impact on their professional progress. The interviewees reported their proactive view to accelerate the implementation of digital learning to meet the world standards, as it would also serve as an appropriate way for their continuous professional development and their ability to face critical situations. The present research shows the significant necessity of integrating new ways of learning in Higher Education Administrations (HEAs). The present work assumes the research hypothesis H1: e-learning is not promoted for employees’ career advancement in Moroccan HEAs. This study recommends an anticipatory vision to transgress any reticence to change, since online learning approach would bring more productivity and success for the administrations and the employees themselves, as well as closer institutional alignment with the revolutionary digital world.
