    Elina Makropulos to bohaterka sztuki Karela Čapka. Ojciec Eliny, nadworny medyk XVI-wiecznego cesarza, wypróbowuje na swej córce siłę działania eliksiru życia. Makropulos umiera w wieku 342 lat, rezygnując z ponownego wypicia eliksiru, ponieważ w swym nad wyraz długim życiu doszła do stanu znudzenia, zobojętnienia i oziębłości. Refleksja nad losem Eliny Makropulos prowadzi brytyjskiego etyka Bernarda Williamsa do wniosku, że zbyt długie życie wcale nie musi być dobrą rzeczą, a w śmierci można znaleźć ukojenie. Wydaje się jednak, że człowiek ma powody, żeby unikać śmierci, ponieważ posiada kategoryczne pragnienia, a sama egzystencja pożądana jest jako coś, co jest dla ich zaspokajania konieczne. Osoba ma powody, by zapobiegać sytuacjom, które są dla niej niekorzystne, ponieważ uniemożliwiają jej zaspokojenie własnych pragnień, ma więc dobry powód, by zapobiegać sytuacji własnej śmierci. Nie wynika stąd jednak w sposób jednoznaczny, że niekończące się życie w skończonej ze swej natury rzeczywistości jest wartością, o którą warto ze wszech miar zabiegać. Pragnienie bardzo długiego czy nawet nieśmiertelnego życia w znanej nam rzeczywistości nie wydaje się nadto bezwarunkowe.

    This contribution centers on the notions of property and nuda potestas in Reinach’s philosophy of law. I aim to demonstrate how both terms ground an important part of Reinach’s understanding of a priori condition for civil rights. Consequently, I assess the principle of property with a comparison to Luis de Molina, since he shows in his De Iustitia et Iure how dominium and rights justify some forms of property (lay and ecclesiastical) and political power (Molina 1659, disp2 n1; Kaufmann 2014, 129). Hence, the right of the person is discussed by following the potestas. In Die apriorischen Grundlagen des bürgerlichen Rechtes, Reinach implicitly refers to the nuda potestas, which is a kind of power that can be applied only formally and not in fact to something else and for that reason, it can only be caught a priori, since acts are performed by another person within it. This is the reason why the rights of a person can be divided between more people, and it is at first just a kind of property, which can be exercised upon the individual. Consequently, I divide my contribution as follows. First, in considering the social act, I show how its characteristics of Anspruch and Verbindlichkeit result from the commitment that human beings make to one another. In doing this, I discuss the particular condition of slavery through which it is possible to find the property and the nuda potestas since there is no enjoyment of the good to which it refers. Second, I apply both concepts by showing a parallel with Luis de Molina. This comes about in consideration of the case of dominium, in which absolute rights can be ascribed to their relative claim. Third and finally, I offer a critique of Reinach, in which I show how absolute rights and relative claims cannot be assimilated.

    The inheritance of resistance to loose smut (Ustilago nuda) in seven cultivars of spring barley has been examined. The performed studies showed that, resistance to two different groups of U. nuda races in respect of their virulence is determined by a single allele pair in the cvs. Anoidium and Inerme 2-r and by two allele pairs in the cvs. CI 13 662, Dorsett, Jet and OAC 21. In the cv. Abyssinian, resistance to a group of races 2 is determined by a single allele pair, whereas that to a group of races 4 - by two allele pairs. In all studied cultivars (except Anoidium) the resistance dominates over sensitivity. Resistance to the both studied groups of U. nuda races is determined by similar genes in the cvs. Dorsett and CI 13 662, as well as in Dorsett and OAC21, and additionally to a group of races 4 in the cvs. Abyssinian and OAC 21. No similarity was found between resistance genes in the case of two allele pairs in the cvs. Jet, Abyssinian and CI 13 662 (group of races 4) as well as in Jet, Dorsett and OAC 21 (in both groups of races), and in the case of a single allele pair in the cvs. Inerme-2-rowed and Abyssinian (group races 2).

    Czy istnieje coś takiego jak nudny rytuał, czy raczej nuda jest afektywnym przeżyciem podmiotu? W artykule autor stawia tezę, że nic – łącznie z posoborowymi obrzędami Kościoła – nie może być z natury nudne. Nuda – lub wyraźniej poddanie się nudzie – jest duchową chorobą późnej nowoczesności. Artykuł wychodzi od analizy zjawiska nudy, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem nudy w jakiejś cyfrowej ekologii. Następnie zwrócono uwagę na symptomy nudy badane przez teoretyków społecznych i kulturowych w ciągu ostatniej dekady, w tym Zygmunta Baumana, Harmuta Rosę i Byung-Chul Hana. Na koniec poddano analizie Ducha liturgii Romano Guardiniego jako dającej lekarstwo na pewien rodzaj antyświątecznej kultury, która jest źródłem nudy w późnej nowoczesności. Nuda nie jest problemem związanym z obrzędem, ale ze świadomością samego człowieka, który nie nauczył się jeszcze uczestniczyć w autentycznej radości aktu kultu.
    Is there such a thing as a boring rite, or is boredom instead an affective experience of a subject? This article argues that nothing—including the post-conciliar rites of the Church—can be intrinsically boredom. Rather, boredom—or more clearly the refusal to undergo boredom—is a spiritual sickness of late modernity. The article begins with an analysis of the phenomenon of boredom with a particular focus on boredom in a digital ecology. The article then turns to the symptoms of boredom as examined by social and cultural theorists over the last decade including Zygmunt Bauman, Harmut Rosa, and Byung-Chul Han. Lastly, the article examines Romano Guardini's The Spirit of the Liturgy as providing a medicine against the kind of anti-festive culture that is the source of boredom in late modernity. Boredom is not a problem with a rite but with the self who has not yet learned to participate in the serious playfulness of the act of worship.

    The main aim of the article is to place the issue of boredom and idleness among students with disabilities during school education in a wide-ranging discussion. The author intends to point out the responsibility to identify boredom among students with disabilities and, in consequence, the need to adopt a strategy preventing this phenomenon. A thorough, systematic analysis of educational activities allows evaluation of their effectiveness and forms the basis for formulating principles to prevent all forms of boredom that condemns students to idleness, exclusion, marginalization, and loneliness. The article describes characteristics typical of boredom from the perspective of negative consequences students suffer as a result of neglect, tardiness, and disrespect from teachers. The author attempts to find optimal educational and therapeutic opportunities and, recognizing various limitations that lie inside and outside of the student, suggests a set of educational principles to prevent boredom among students as well as practical recommendations in this area for educators.
    Głównym celem artykułu jest wpisanie w szerszą dyskusję problemu nudy i bezczynności wśród uczniów z niepełnosprawnością w obszarze edukacji i wychowania w warunkach szkolnych. Zamiarem autora staje się wskazanie obowiązku zdiagnozowania, a w konsekwencji konieczności przyjęcia strategii przeciwdziałania zjawisku nudy wśród uczniów z niepełnosprawnością. Wnikliwa, systematyczna analiza możliwości określających uzasadnienie podłoża każdej podejmowanej działalności pedagogicznej sprzyja ułatwieniu dokonania oceny aktualnie uzyskiwanej efektywności praktyki z niej wynikającej oraz podjęcia właściwej decyzji o efektywności dla realizacji celów przyświecających założeniom skutecznego przeciwdziałania wszelkim formom nudy, skazującej uczniów na stan bezczynności, wykluczenia, marginalizacji, osamotnienia. W artykule scharakteryzowano cechy typowe dla zjawiska nudy w aspekcie negatywnych skutków, które ponosi uczeń w wyniku zaniedbania, opieszałości i lekceważenia ze strony nauczycieli. Poza próbą poszukiwania optymalnych możliwości pedagogiczno-terapeutycznych i jednocześnie dostrzegając różnorodne ograniczenia tkwiące w uczniu i poza nim, zaproponowano zbiór zasad pedagogicznych w przeciwdziałaniu zjawisku nudy wśród uczniów, jak też praktyczne wskazania dla pedagogów w tym obszarze ich pracy.

    Brachiopods and phoronids are widely recognised as closely related lophophorate phyla, but the lack of morphological intermediates linking the bivalved bodyplan of brachiopods with tubular phoronids has frustrated precise phylogenetic placement. Here we describe Lingulosacculus nuda gen. et sp. nov., a new “soft−shelled” brachiopod from the Early Cambrian Mural Formation of western Alberta which provides a plausible candidate for a phoronid stem−group within (paraphyletic) Brachiopoda. In addition to its non−biomineralised shell, L. nuda had a ventral valve with an exceptionally long, pocket−like extension (pseudointerarea) that would have allowed the transformation of criss−crossing brachiopod−type musculature to the longitudinal arrangement typical of phoronids. “Soft−shelled” linguliform brachiopods have previously been reported from both the Chengjiang and Burgess Shale Lagerstätten which, together with L. nuda, probably represent two independent losses of shell mineralisation in brachiopods.
