The major finding of the study was that the mobile technology-based Science program enabled students to learn scientific knowledge through associated activities and creatively apply their knowledge to complete the mission of the learning. Also, the study found that the use of tablet PCs and SNS for scientific inquiry activities facilitated students to learn in fun ways, to collaborate with other students, and to share what they have learned with each other.

This study aimed to investigate the effect of Mobile-Assisted Language Learning (MALL) as compared to paper-based instruction in the development of Iranian EFL elementary learners’ writing skills. The research purpose was threefold: 1) to investigate the effect of MALL on elementary learners’ writing skills; 2) to make a comparison between the obtained results of MALL and pencil-and-paper methods, and 3) to assess elementary students’ attitudes about learner involvement in collaborative learning (CL) settings through mobile phone (MPh) interactions. For this purpose, 30 Iranian EFL elementary students were selected and randomly assigned to two groups: one experimental and one control. While the experimental sample received mobile-based instructions on their writing assignments, the students in the placebo group were provided with only paper-based instruction. The findings revealed that the participants in both groups showed considerable improvement on the immediate and delayed writing post-tests; however, on average, those in the experimental MALL group were shown to have outperformed the students in the control group significantly. Not surprisingly, the learners in the treatment group had made fewer errors on the targeted grammatical structures like the use of adjectives, possessives and simple present tense compared to those in the control sample. Finally, the results of the post hoc interview reflected that MALL learners felt positively about the utility of mobile technology in writing classes. Essentially, the findings could be of great help to EFL teachers, EFL learners, and course designers.

Military vehicles and equipment should be designed with regard to ergonomics, which is important for the protection of the crew. Reliable protection can be achieved by constant technological progress and the improvement of materials, enabling resistance of an attack by mines and improvised explosive devices (IED) placed under the vehicle. The explosion of a device under a vehicle represents a great risk for its crew. This paper is about the protection systems that are using in the World and provide a comprehensive and effective protection of the vehicles. The mainly task of these systems is to safe the crew. The paper divides the protective anti-mine system into the external protection system and internal protection system. Each of these two basic groups is nearly specify in the text and there are also application examples for military mobile technology. In the end to sum the paper up there are some approaches to improvement of safety and protection of the vehicles.

Our research note reports the results of a qualitative and quantitative evaluation of the pilot edition of the Coding Masters Junior program, conducted in 2015 by Centrum Cyfrowe: Projekt Polska. It focuses on the results of a semantic analysis for the keyword “tablet” of the IDIs conducted with parents of preschoolers. The analysis has shown, among others, that in many households tablet is seen as belonging to the domain of the child, its property (toy). At the same time, quantitative research reveals that in 26% of tablet-owning households the device is not made available to the child. This strong polarization of practices shows that tablets remain a terra incognita to a significant group of parents, one they often have no wish to explore.

This text presents and discusses results of empirical research conducted during 3 school semesters (1.5 of school year) in a primary school in Poland. The research focused on the introduction of tablets (iPads) to didactic design and aimed at the observation of learning processes of the entire school community in connection with the appearance of a new educational actor. We used a qualitative research approach, mainly video-ethnography (60 hours of recorded material). This research approach resulted in the identification of maps of teaching and learning practices and their meanings in the changing school field.

Environmental education in primary schools has not built sufficient awareness in formal-informal learning experience. The development of seamless learning is an alternative innovation in building students’ learning experiences. However, there is limited research on its implementation in the learning process in elementary schools with limited mobile technology. Therefore, the purpose of this research was to develop instructional design and learning planning matrices for seamless learning on teachers’ and students’ activities to facilitate formal and informal learning with limited use of mobile technology in elementary schools. Based on the instructional design and learning planning matrices developed, the context reconstruction in a seamless learning design was successfully used in guiding the teachers’ and students’ activities. The limitations of mobile technology in the schools could be replaced with the use of learning laboratories, as well as parents’ support at home. Furthermore, the instructional design and learning matrix developed were feasible, valid, and practical in application in elementary schools. Therefore, the community has a vital role to play in improving students’ learning experiences aside from schools.

Opis:
Integration of Information Communication Technology (ICT) products from different manufacturers to provide friendly support for patients and health professionals is a challenge for organizational, legal, and technological interoperability. To empowerment of patients over 65, it is necessary to support them with proper ICT tools. There are many technological solutions in e-Health sector, which do not support the patient’s complex needs and standards. The CareWell project adapted a formula based on the acquisition of commercial ready-made applications that support the functionality defined for patients, doctors, nurses and the Contact Centers (Call Centers). Lessons learned from the CareWell project phases from beginning of the business processes modeling with their modification for the project needs, as well as mapping of the available functionalities of selected IT platforms, work integration and implementation, are discussed in the paper.
Integracja produktów informatycznych pochodzących od różnych producentów w celu dostarczenia przyjaznych usług pacjentom i pracownikom ochrony zdrowia stanowi wyzwanie w zakresie rozwiązania problemów interoperacyjności organizacyjnej, prawnej i technologicznej. Aby pomóc pacjentom powyżej 65 roku życia, konieczne jest wsparcie ich potrzeb zdrowotnych technologiami ICT (ang. Information Communication Technology). Istnieje wiele rozwiązań technologicznych w sektorze e-Zdrowia, które jednak nie obsługują złożonych potrzeb z uwzględnieniem standardów. Project CareWell przyjął formułę realizacji opartą na nabyciu gotowych aplikacji, które pozwalają na realizacje zdefiniowanych funkcji do obsługi pacjentów, lekarzy i pielęgniarek oraz centrali kontaktowych call center. W pracy omówiono główne wnioski z realizacji poszczególnych faz projektu od początku zamodelowania procesów biznesowych, konieczną ich modyfikację dla potrzeb projektu, jak również mapowanie dostępnych funkcjonalności integrowanych wybranych platform IT.

This paper presented the results of an experimental study investigating the impact of clicker use through a smart phone application called Kahoot!. Despite positive results of clicker use in the existing General English literature, the impact of clicker use has not been examined in the field of ESP. To address this issue, this study investigated the effectiveness of clickers by comparing pre-test and post-test scores of a control and an experimental group and the scores of male and female participants in the experimental group. The results of a 10-week implementation of clicker use with the students of tourism and hospitality department in the experimental group indicated that while post-test scores were significantly higher for the experimental group than for the control group, there was not a statistically significant difference between the post-test scores of male and female participants in the experimental group. Implications for teaching ESP with the help of technology and suggestions for further research were also provided.

This review of the theoretical framework for Mastery Learning Theory and Sense of Community theories is provided in conjunction with a review of the literature for mobile technology in relation to language learning. Although empirical research is minimal for mobile phone technology as an aid for language learning, the empirical research that exists positively points toward mobile phone technology as a tool that is becoming more widely used and accepted by second language teachers. A conceptual application of the theoretical frameworks is applied to the use of mobile phone technology as a teaching aid for language learners, with the conclusion that there is an overlap worth researching empirically.

In this paper author applies an approach named evidence-based practice to university governance. The Bologna process encourages universities to implement the National Qualification Framework and Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs). Author argues that SLOs and Student Progress Outcomes (SPOs) provide the evidence of quality of educational process. The Information Communication Technology (ICT) tools and new media enable the evidence creating, gathering, monitoring and usage. The paper is to support the general thesis that not only every company is a technology organization, but also every person (e.g., student) is a technology organization. The evidence creates ICT context for university learning and university should be evaluated based on that context.
Proces boloński skłania uniwersytety do wdrażania Krajowym Ram Kwalifikacyjnych oraz opracowania i wdrażania efektów uczenia się. Zdaniem autora wprowadzenie efektów kształcenia wiąże się z koniecznością uzyskiwania dowodów jakości kształcenia. Autor proponuje w tym celu zastosowanie podejścia zarządzania opartego na dowodach. Autor twierdzi, że narzędzia technologii informacji i komunikacji oraz nowe media wspomagają tworzenie, gromadzenie, monitorowanie dowodów kształcenia. Artykuł ma służyć poparciu ogólnej tezy, że współcześnie nie tylko każde przedsiębiorstwo jest przedsiębiorstwem technologii informacji, ale praktycznie każdy człowiek (a więc także student) stanowi swego rodzaju organizację technologii informacji ze względu na wyposażenie w indywidualny sprzęt i oprogramowanie oraz szeroko rozbudowane możliwości gromadzenia i przetwarzania informacji. W artykule przedstawiono przykład wyposażenia w urządzenia informatyczne studentów, co stanowi specyficzny kontekst uniwersyteckiego uczenia się i uniwersytet powinien być oceniany na podstawie tego kontekstu.

The main goal of the article is generalization of intellectual innovation project of information system “Mobile information assistant of the tourist” (MIAT), which provide a full-featured integrated information and technological support to tourists during planning and implementation stages of his journey using a wide range of modern information technologies. About two-thirds of today's tourists use information technology to plan and support their journey, while a significant number of them use mobile computer and telecommunications devices. The article is devoted to the analysis of the possibilities of GPS-technology (Global Positioning System) in the tourism industry. The study is devoted to the identification and analysis of functionality of mobile computing devices equipped with GPS receiver in tourism industry, the methods and means of their implementation, building on this basis a mobile information technology for tourist support at all stages of his journey. To achieve the goal a number of mobile information systems using data GPS, methods and means of their implementation, a comparative analysis of current cartographic services that are used in the developing of mobile information technology applications for tourist are analyzed. The study outlines the place of GPS-technology in the "Mobile tourist information assistant" system, and the role of Google Maps services for information technology support and implementation of the main tourist features in mentioned mobile information system.

Zmiany, które dokonały się na rynku bankowym na przestrzeni ostatnich kilku dekad, stanowią dla banków źródło nowych wyzwań. Rozwój technologii mobilnych ma znaczący wpływ na wiele obszarów ludzkich działań, w tym zachowania na rynku usług bankowych. Upowszechnienie technologii mobilnej zmieniło zarówno sposób przekazywania informacji i komunikacji, jak i zachowania nabywcze klientów. Wszystkie te zmiany powinny być uwzględnianie w procesie poszukiwania źródeł przewagi konkurencyjnej i projektowania modelu biznesowego banku. Celem artykułu jest zaproponowanie założeń modelu biznesowego banku uwzględniających technologię mobilną jako narzędzie dostarczania wartości dla klientów i źródło przewagi konkurencyjnej. Założenia te zostały opracowane na podstawie studiów literaturowych. W artykule przedstawiono analizę modeli biznesowych wykorzystywanych przez banki, dostarczanych w ramach tych modeli propozycji wartości dla klientów oraz ich dopasowania do potrzeb i oczekiwań odbiorców. Analizę podsumowują przesłanki dotyczące wykorzystania technologii mobilnej do dalszego rozwoju modeli biznesowych banków, sformułowane z perspektywy kreowania i dostarczania wartości dla klientów.
During the last few decades, the banking market has changed significantly making banks face new challenges. Mobile technology development has had a powerful impact on all human activities including banking. Mobile technology has changed both the information and communication sharing, as well as customers’ market behaviour. All these changes should be taken into account in the process of searching for competitive advantage factors and designing banks’ business models. The purpose of the paper is to propose the framework for banks’ business model that incorporates using mobile technology and creating a competitive advantage. The foundation of this framework is based on theoretical considerations. The paper analyses contemporary business models used by banks, their value proposals and their relation to customers’ needs and expectations. The research highlights the routes for using mobile technology in the further development of banks’ business models from the perspective of the process of creating and delivering value for customers.
