Artykuł przedstawia metodologię i efekty interdyscyplinarnego, eksperymentalnego kursu z grupy tzw. blended learning, prowadzonego na Politechnice Gdańskiej. W badaniach posłużono się sondażami i studiami literaturowymi podkreślającymi innowacyjne aspekty zastosowanej konstrukcji kursu. Celem artykułu jest pokazanie potencjału techniki e-learningu połączonej z wykorzystaniem systemu PBL w formie „odwróconej klasy”. Analiza wyników czterech edycji kursu pokazuje korzystne efekty połączenia technik zdalnego nauczania z aktywnościami polegającymi na bezpośredniej współpracy studentów. Wypracowana przez autorów metoda prowadzenia kursu UrbanLab stanowi interesującą propozycję rozwoju nowoczesnych form organizacji interdyscyplinarnych kursów na uczelniach technicznych.
The article presents the methodology and results of interdisciplinary, experimental course conducted at Gdansk University of Technology belonging to the so-called blended learning system and realized by "flipped class" methodology. The studies used inquiries and multidisciplinary literature studies emphasizing the innovative aspects of the course construction. The aim of the article is to show the potential offered by the e-learning combined with stationary educational techniques. Results of the course show the beneficial effects of a combination of distance learning with activities involving a direct cooperation of students. Project Based Learning method conducted in the form of "flipped class”, has also favourable impact on course results. The course UrbanLab 3.0 with new methodology developed by authors may be an interesting proposal for the development of new forms of organization of interdisciplinary courses in higher education.

ABSTRACT Concept: Drawing is the foundation of plastic arts. The drawing class is one of the art education fields where students focus on observation, questioning, research and developing imagination. It can be seen that artists too are presenting different premises after drawing, which is generally considered as a preliminary to a work of art, being acknowledged as art by itself. Aim: The point of origin of this research is the inability of the students of sculpture departments to fully comprehend the importance of drawing with regard to the creating of a sculpture. The principal purpose is the explaining of the applied studies that are specifically designed to develop individual perspectives, drawing skills, personal lines and creativity of the students and the alternative methods of drawing which yield positive result. Methods: Instead of repeating the knowledge that students obtained via traditional methods, studies are approached where they can reinterpret and develop their knowledge in respect of the time, technique, perception etc. Drawings that are presented in line with the main purpose via innovative approaches are evaluated with a qualitative research. Conclusions: After briefly mentioning education and art education in this study, methods applied with an innovative approach in sculpture design courses are explained through selected examples. At the end of the studies, it was seen that the students were more active, eager to learn, courageous, questioning and every time they are applied, methods are resulted positively.

A meaningful and relevant “Excellence in Education Spaces” is imperative so that future generations can address societal risks. This inevitably requires education to integrate strategies to transform the current approaches and build on sustainability strategies. Education for sustainable development (ESD), considered a pivotal vehicle, is, nevertheless, relegated to science and environmental-related courses at most schools and universities. ESD is treated as one off-topic for discussion, creating an information deficit, implying that a few future leaders get knowledge about sustainability. The practices and attitudes about sustainable development goals (SDGs) are not universal, failing to achieve equitable SDGs. A few purposive studies from engineering were analysed to confirm that the ESD must be mainstreamed in education, allowing future generation delegates to build knowledge capital at the individual and institutional levels, equip future practitioners and decision-makers with strategic capabilities to resolve unforeseeable problems, drive societal transformation, and impact climate change, honouring SDGs

Our study contributes to a limited body of literature and aims to examine the type and frequency of linkages between creative industries and higher education institutions (HEIs). The objective of our study is to investigate the extent to which various types of linkages contribute to enhanced innovative capabilities in creative industries. Based on a qualitative research design and a case study carried out in a peripheral south-western Norwegian county, our empirical analysis shows that HEIs are generally not very relevant partners and that other actors are mainly involved in innovation dynamics. As clarified and discussed in the paper, this finding largely depends on some specific characteristics of HEIs, the form of knowledge primarily employed by creative firms (symbolic knowledge base), and the cultural divergence between the two spheres.

This paper focuses on the issue of integrating innovative methods into the teaching of literature in lower-secondary schools. It aims to highlight the factors that influence these methods’ use and thus fill a gap in the existing research in the field. The research inquiry is based on a qualitative approach; the group of respondents consists of male and female teachers working in lower-secondary schools at the time of the research. The structured interview method was chosen for data collection, and the data obtained was evaluated using grounded theory. We present the results obtained from 24 interviews. Due to the research’s qualitative nature, it is impossible to generalise from the findings. The so-called time and teacher factors and the classroom factors are associated with not using these methods, and developing competencies and applying them to life factors are associated with using them. The paper also comments on the influence of school support, the influence of inspiration from university teachers, and the positive experiences of the respondents. The influence of the age of the teachers was found to be insignificant.

The article is theoretical and analytical in nature and aims to identify the manifestations of social innovations in e-learning education at the Wroclaw University of Economics and Business during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study focuses on the need for academics to use innovative (novel) distance learning tools. In addition, an attempt was made to assess the impact of selected tools on the development of new competencies among students. In order to achieve this goal, a proprietary online questionnaire was developed and free interviews were conducted with students. The survey was created in MS Forms application. A total of 151 students (second year) studying at the Faculty of Production Engineering of the Wroclaw University of Economics were surveyed. The survey period was in the summer semester 2020/2021. The study showed that the use of virtual tools contributed to the development of additional skills among students, such as teamwork and collaboration skills or creativity.

The article highlights innovative curricula while training future American medical specialists in the 21st century to develop the necessary professional competences and correspond to reality. „The Undergraduate Medical Education for the 21st Century” program led to numerous innovative curricula to evolve communication skills, leadership, and teamwork. The Pfeifer curriculum dealt with reducing training time and enhanced preparation for the „Step” exams. Warren Alpert Medical School at Brown University created and implemented the Schwartz Communication Sessions. In the context of the Introduction to Clinical Medicine (ICM) HST 200 course, medical students at Harvard University-MIT improved their professional communication skills.

The main objective of the article is analytical and summarizing the introduction of new trends of teaching and learning (through innovative methods) to fully derive from new learning goals. Author of a long work, arguing that some „innovative” methods (activation, interactive) are nothing new, only with them our students in school practice encounter very little or not at all.

The relevance of the survey is due to the need to understand the role of the manager of a higher education institution in conditions of uncertainty against the background of socio-economic crises, when the organizational culture of the management of an educational institution is being formed. Large-scale transformations in all spheres of life are outlined, which drive the economy, science, culture, education, industry and lead to the development of innovative approaches to the formation of organizational culture, based on the need to use professionalism and deeper experience of professional managers of higher education institutions. The article highlights the essence and conceptual and terminological apparatus of the researched topic. The content of the concepts “organizational culture” and “innovative management” is considered. The article highlights the issues of organizational culture as a tool for increasing the competitiveness of the institution in the system of higher education. The essence of organizational culture in a higher education institution is considered and revealed. The relevance of the study of organizational culture is connected with the fact that knowledge of the characteristics of the organizational culture of a higher education institution will allow to assess the degree of its stability, predict possible directions of management decisions, and also contribute to the achievement of planned results. The article focuses on the fact that the success of a higher education institution is directly linked to its culture. After all, the main indicator of a good state of affairs in a higher education institution is the ability to attract and retain talented employees. The impact of organizational culture on various aspects of higher education institution activities, which are considered by a number of sciences, such as personnel management, economics and sociology of work, organization theory, strategic management, management psychology, management sociology, is singled out. In the article, it is determined that organizational culture in an educational institution is formed under the influence of management consulting. The essence of consulting activity in a higher education institution is considered and disclosed. The main functions of consulting in institutions of higher education, which contribute to the qualitative formation of organizational culture in the institution of higher education, are highlighted. Content aspects of the process of modeling organizational culture in a higher education institution are highlighted. Emphasis is placed on the components of the model based on the application of modern principles and innovations for the perspective development of the higher education system and assistance in providing higher education institutions with highly qualified personnel. An analysis of the theoretical foundations and classification identification of the design of consulting activities in a higher education institution as a tool for the formation of organizational culture is carried out. The difficulties and contradictions inherent in the formation of the organizational environment of a higher education institution are considered.

The relation and dialectical unity of such categories as quality of education and economic security of higher education institutionsare scientifically proven in the paper. Among such institutions the following two groups are distinguished: state (i.e.,all-Ukrainian) and regional. The operation state of the latter is investigated on an example of the Kharkiv oblast. The main components of the management cycle of education sector in Ukraine and such elements of quality of education as quality of the educational process, quality of students training, quality of educational services and quality (state) of education economics in whole country, region, or a single educational institution are determined. Current study proves that the education quality issues need regular state and public monitoring, as they are caused by the requirements of today’s market and by increasing competition for students between higher education institutions.

The article presents a study which main objective was to expand knowledge on teachers’ experiences, readiness, and conditions for effective reaction to significantly changed social circumstances and conditions of their work. The study was performed amongst primary and secondary teachers in Poland, using a proprietary online survey. The study found that the majority of teachers have access to the required equipment and traditional educational resources. However, a significant number of teachers still need recourses required for the distance education. The study also found that the majority of teachers feel very well or adequately prepared for work in new conditions. Yet, a considerable number of teachers still indicate a need for additional training and support, although a vast majority of them are intensively involved in various forms of innovative work and self-directed learning. On a basis of the study results, the authors recommend a number of topics and directions for pre-service teacher education at universities and continuous professional development. These recommendations can contribute to the quality of education during the COVID-19 pandemic and in postpandemic conditions.
W artykule ukazano badania, których głównym celem było poszerzenie wiedzy na temat doświadczeń nauczycieli, ich gotowości i warunków skutecznego reagowania na silnie zmienione warunki społeczne i warunki pracy nauczycieli. Badanie zostało przeprowadzone za pomocą autorskiej ankiety internetowej wśród nauczycieli szkół podstawowych i ponadpodstawowych w Polsce. Badanie wykazało, że większość nauczycieli ma dostęp do wymaganego sprzętu i tradycyjnych zasobów edukacyjnych. Jednak znaczna część nauczycieli nadal potrzebuje środków niezbędnych do kształcenia na odległość. Badanie wykazało również, że większość nauczycieli czuje się bardzo dobrze lub odpowiednio przygotowana do pracy w nowych warunkach. Niemniej jednak wielu nauczycieli wykazuje potrzebę dodatkowego szkolenia i wsparcia, choć zdecydowana większość z nich intensywnie angażuje się w różne formy innowacyjnej pracy i samokształcenia. Biorąc pod uwagę uzyskane wyniki badań, autorzy przedstawiają szereg rekomendacji dotyczących tematów i kierunków kształcenia nauczycieli na uczelniach wyższych oraz ustawicznego doskonalenia zawodowego. Przedstawione rekomendacje mogą wpłynąć na jakość edukacji w okresie pandemii COVID-19 oraz w warunkach po pandemii.

This article is devoted to innovative learning technology, namely web quest, an effective learning tool that promotes the cognitive activity of applicants for higher medical educational institutions, focused on today’s challenges related to forming an independent, creative, competent personality. The main attention is paid to using quests in studying chemical disciplines in distance learning. The purpose of the study is to identify the main aspects of web quests’ effectiveness in the training of future medical professionals, revealing the main stages of the organisation. Specific examples of quests are also given from my own practical experience. An analysis of recent publications on this issue was carried out, and as a result, we argue that scientific sources do not sufficiently cover tuse of web quests in the study of chemical disciplines in higher medical education institutions, which is the impetus for the study. The article presents the stages of organising quests for students in the discipline “Medical Chemistry”, which include both the actual creation of a blog (initial, thematic, address, final), as well as the choice of topic, goals, tasks, division of responsibilities between participants and publication of results during distance learning (online conferences, videos, projects, booklets, commercials, prevention essays). It is presented an analysis of a survey of teachers and students on the effectiveness of the introduction of this technology in the training of future medical professionals. The analysis of the results shows that web quests meet modern requirements for implementing the educational process in medical and educational institutions and contribute to acquiring professional competence. Teachers and students who participated in the survey noted that web quests are an effective modern technology that promotes motivation, interest in the subject and chosen profession, and the formation of key competencies that must have a modern medical professional to be competitive. Specific examples of involving students in web quests on the subject of “Medical Chemistry” during research activities in the scientific section of Cherkasy Medical Academy.
