Opis:
This paper describes the methodology by which it is possible to compare different tensile forces that are caused by the uneven distribution of loads in carrier ropes of lifts. In order to compare the applied tensile forces in a certain number of carrier ropes, it is possible to use the device called “rope hydraulic tension compensator”, when, for example, building new elevators, changing carrier ropes during renovations or servicing existing lifts. The comparison of tensile forces in lift carrier ropes by the described device is based on the method of liquid pressure diffusion in a closed vessel. The rope hydraulic tension compensator consists of a number of structural parts, the main of which are double-acting hydraulic cylinders. The number of these cylinders is equal to the number of carrier ropes of the given lift. The pressure of the hydraulic fluid, which is supplied to the inner shell of individual hydraulic cylinders, controls the length of extension of individual piston rods of the hydraulic cylinders. The position of the piston in each of the hydraulic cylinders is directly proportional to the length of the extended piston rod, which corresponds to compression of the cylindrical coiled spring, above which the respective hydraulic cylinder is located. Different compressions of individual cylindrical springs exert different magnitude of tensile forces in suspension eye-bolts, into whose longitudinal axes the total load size is distributed unevenly. The paper also describes the description and hydraulic circuit diagram of a hydraulic power unit, which is used to control the piston positions of two-way hydraulic cylinders.

Opis:
For unconventional oil and gas reservoirs such as shale oil and gas as well as tight oil and gas, hydraulic fracturing generally enhances oil recovery. However, the flowback rate of the residual fracturing fluid is low. The residual fracturing fluid in the fracture or the rock ma- trix can reduce relative permeability of oil and gas, and the production rate will decrease. Therefore, it is necessary to study the factors that affect the flowback rate of the fracturing fluid. Most previous studies used the slot model, and viscous and capillary forces explain stable discharge in porous media. The conclusions were only a primarily qualitative analysis. The factors from experimental studies were not comprehensive, and they did not consider the influence of gravity. There are few studies on unstable drainage in porous media un- der different displacement directions. This paper presents a carboxymethyl hydroxypropyl guar gum fracturing fluid with good temperature resistance, and a fracturing fluid flowback experiment is carried on. The effects of the displacement direction, injection pressure, inter- facial tension, fracturing fluid viscosity, and proppant wettability on the flowback rate are analyzed. The research results can provide formulation of the on-site construction scheme.

Opis:
Accurate predictions of friction pressure losses are very important in drilling and well completions operations. In some applications, for example, drilling in areas where the margin between pore pressure and fracture pressure gradients is small, inaccurate predictions of bore hole pressure may lead to serious complications and even a loss of the well. This paper is focused on a flow of yield power law type (pseudo-plastic with the yield stress) fluid in the annular space with the possibility that the inner pipe maybe eccentric. A new mathematical model that is based on a concept of generalized average wall shear rate - wall shear stress relationship is presented. A carefully designed laboratory facility that permits accurate differential pressure measurements as a function of flow rate in both pipe and annular flow has been developed. The desired rheology of the fluids was obtained by mixing two types of polymers (PAC and HEC) with water. Pipe flow measurements have been utilized to produce flow curves and subsequently the fluid rheological characterization (yield stress, consistency index and flow behavior index). The results of measured pressure losses are compared to those predicted by the proposed model. While the discrepancies are noticeable the difference is less than 15% and frequently is even less than 5%. We believe that the proposed model is simple useful for practical design applications
Artykuł dotyczy przepływu płynu posiadającego granicę płynięcia, opisanego równaniem potęgowym, w przestrzeni pierścieniowej, w sytuacji niecentrycznego ułożenia przewodu wiertniczego w stosunku do rur okładzinowych lub ściany otworu. Do badań użyto dwóch typów roztworów polimerów: PAC i HEC, o wymaganych parametrach reologicznych.

Reliability and maintenance analysis of transport machines hydraulic drives, basically focused to power units: pumps, cylinders etc., without taking in to account junction elements. Therefore, this paper proposes a research analysis on high-pressure hoses and junctions during technical maintenance. Comparative analysis of fluid behavior and energy efficiency inside non-repaired and repaired high-pressure hoses is presented in this research. Theoretical and experimental research results for hydraulic processes inside high-pressure hose is based on the numerical simulations using Navier–Stokes equations and experimental measurement of fluid flow pressure inside high-pressure hoses. Research of fluid flow dynamics in the hydraulic system was made with main assumptions: system flow rate in the range from 5 to 100 l/min, diameter of the hoses and repairing fitting are 3/8". The pressure drops, power losses, flow coefficients at non-repaired and after maintenance hose was obtained as a result. Simulation results were verified by running physical experiments to measure the pressure losses.

Research regarding blade design and analysis of flow has been attracting interest for over a century. Meanwhile new concepts and design approaches were created and improved. Advancements in information technologies allowed to introduce computational fluid dynamics and computational flow mechanics. Currently a combination of mentioned methods is used for the design of turbine blades. These methods enabled us to improve flow efficiency and strength of turbine blades. This paper relates to a new type turbine which is in the phase of theoretical analysis, because the working fluid is a mixture of steam and gas generated in a wet combustion chamber. The main aim of this paper is to design and analyze the flow characteristics of the last stage of gas-steam turbine. When creating the spatial model, the atlas of profiles of reaction turbine steps was used. Results of computational fluid dynamics simulations of twisting of the last stage are presented. Blades geometry and the computational mesh are also presented. Velocity vectors, for selected dividing sections that the velocity along the pitch diameter varies greatly. The blade has the shape of its cross-section similar to action type blades near the root and to reaction type blades near the tip. Velocity fields and pressure fields show the flow characteristics of the last stage of gas-steam turbine. The net efficiency of the cycle is equal to 52.61%.

It is known that nano- and micromechanics require new approaches to right describing of surface-like phenomena which lead to an enhanced energy conversion. In this work, a general form of surface forces that consist of a contribution from both the friction and mobility components has been extended to collect the effects of bulk and surface motion of a fluid. Quite similar impact can be observed for a solid-fluid mixture, where the principle of effective stress for this new type of approach should be considered from the very beginning. The second motivation of our work is to present the multiscale domain of fluid-solid interaction which describes some “emergence effects” for materials with especially high volumetric surface densities.

Opis:
For a deeper understanding of the inner ear dynamics, a Finite-Element model of the human cochlea is developed. To describe the unsteady, viscous creeping flow of the liquid, a pressure-displacement-based Finite-Element formulation is used. This allows one to efficiently compute the basilar membrane vibrations resulting from the fluid-structure interaction leading to hearing nerve stimulation. The results show the formation of a traveling wave on the basilar membrane propagating with decreasing velocity towards the peaking at a frequency dependent position. This tonotopic behavior allows the brain to distinguish between sounds of different frequencies. Additionally, not only the middle ear, but also the transfer behavior of the cochlea contributes to the frequency dependence of the auditory threshold. Furthermore, the fluid velocity and pressure fields show the effect of viscous damping forces and allow us to deeper understand the formation of the pressure difference, responsible to excite the basilar membrane.
