Opis:
Since the beginning of slavery blacks discovered in the Bible stories which provided not only narratives and language to delineate the difficulty of being a slave, but also hope for a better future in the afterlife. The Exodus was perceived as the Bible’s main argument that God denounced slavery and would come in a catastrophic event to judge those who mistreated blacks. This article is devoted to the exploration of the biblical figure of Exodus as a recurring trope in selected lyrics of slave spirituals and spirituals recorded by bluesmen. Scholars seem to agree that the Exodus is the migration narrative, but in this article I seek to demonstrate that it may also represent the theme of going on a spiritual journey to the other side in the hereafter or the end of time city the New Jerusalem.

Opis:
This article deals with the formation process of the traditions concerning the three patriarchs from the book of Genesis. It can already be stated that the traditions of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob were initially formed independently of one other. The chronological priority should be assigned to the tradition of Jacob. It was originally combined with the tradition of Isaac (in Amos), and before the exile it constituted the earliest point of reference for the search of roots and identity. It was only towards the end of the exile that the particular time and situation resulted in the local, Judaean traditions of Abraham starting to play a greater role also in the theological aspect. Abraham became then not only a model of faith, and an example of behaviour for the exiles and the repatriates, but also the first link in the chain of the three patriarchs. Some motifs in the story of Abraham may have been at that time borrowed from the traditions of Isaac (cf. Gen 26).

Opis:
Fabrics such as byssus and crimson wool can provide us with a surprisingly large amount of information about the circumstances of Biblical books origin. Analysis of lexis related to mentioned textiles, present in Exodus and in Chronicles, allows to notice a meaningful change, occurring in technical biblical terminology. In Exodus, byssus is represented by שֵׁשׁ and crimson – by תּוֹלַעַת שָׁנִי, whilst in Chronicles naming is changed respectively to בּוּץ and כַּרְמִיל. Analysis of etymology leads to the conclusion, that textiles mentioned in Torah belong to an early vocabulary, created in the times before the exile, in Chronicles, on the other hand, encountered terms belong to period of Babylonian captivity or after the exile. Confrontation of these textiles with the other, non-biblical sources, provides a confirmation of proposed dating and facilitates identification of mysterious biblical byssus, which turns out to be a very thin linen and not – as sometimes confused – sea silk. Juxtaposition of the Greek equivalents allows to draw a conclusion, that terminology of both Torah and Chronicles was known to the LXX translators, who – despite a clear caesura – translate terms consequently: שֵׁשׁ and בּוּץ to βύσσος/βύσσινος, and תּוֹלַעַת שָׁנִי and כַּרְמִיל to κόκκινος

Opis:
Ernst (-Hartwig) Kantorowicz, born in Poznań (then Germany) in 1895, died in Princeton in 1963, is one of the most distinguished and influential historians (mediaevalists) of the 20th century. A descendent of an affluent Jewish-German (totally naturalized) family, after the rebirth of the Polish state in 1918 moved together with the family to Germany, took part in the World War I, struggled against the Polish insurgents and against the communists in Berlin and Munich, studied a.o. in Heidelberg, where he joined the famous Stefan George circle. After publishing the monograph on Emperor Frederick the Second (1927-1931) he have been callingas professor in Frankfurt a.M., as consequence to the decisions of the Nazi-government he retired in 1933/1934 and eventually in 1938 emigrated to Great Britain and finally to the USA, where (first in Berkeley Ca., then in Princeton) he lived and worked until his death. Besides his fundamental monographs and studies on the medieval political liturgy (Laudes regiae 1946) and the political theology (The Kings’ Two Bodies 1957), his life was characterized by an extraordinary stable opinion and the determination to defend it, as was proved first in 1933 in Nazi- Germany and the second time in Berkeley in 1949 (during the s.c. Loyalty Oath Controversion). This article is an abbreviated and partially changed version of the introduction to the Polish translation of the main work by Kantorowicz (The King’s Two Bodies), to appear in this year.

Opis:
Evacuation modelling technology offers designers and regulators of train new opportunities to rigorously test designs and theories in order to improve the passengers’ safety. This paper deals with the opportunity to use these tools for the railway industry. The FDS+Evac and buildingEXODUS softwares are used to model and simulate the evacuation of rolling stock. Firstly, in order to demonstrate the reliability of these tools to calculate the complete evacuation time, a comparative study was achieved between a real test, simulations done with FDS+Evac and simulations done with buildingEXODUS. Multiple simulations are performed to capture the stochastic variations in egress times. The philosophy of this comparative study is to realize the real test in one hand, and to use evacuation modelling tools with the incoming data (population, train geometry, initial position of the people, and known characteristics of the population) of the real test in another hand. The goal is not to stall the simulations results with the real test but to analyze the results of calculations by themselves. The following study highlights the interest of using evacuation modelling for the railway industry and shows their reliability in order to satisfy the TSI RST HS 2008/232/CE and the future TSI LOC&PAS. A confrontation „modelling – full-scale test” is presented and analysed.
Technika modelowania ewakuacji daje konstruktorom i ciałom nadzorującym pociągi nowe możliwości rygorystycznego sprawdzenie konstrukcji i teorii tak, aby poprawić bezpieczeństwo pasażerów. Przedstawiono i przeanalizowano zestawienie „Modelowanie – próba w skali naturalnej”

The article analyzes selected literary motifs of Psalm 77, which were used by Origen to formulate more-than-literal interpretations. The methodology of research on the processes of creating allegorical and symbolic associations has been applied to the following literary motifs: the separation of the waters of the Red Sea, the cloud and the pillar of fire leading the Israelites through the wilderness, water from a rock, and manna from heaven.

Opis:
Migration is a human experience, which has arisen and developed in relation to the human society itself. In our era, immigration is associated with the integration and the globalization. Immigration is a modern intercommunications between cultures in a world increasingly with more multicultural, or in a world with a hybrid culture. Western multiculturalism as a space wherein the Albanian cultural integration moves. After the collapse of the communist system and coincidental that occurred the great things happening in the xxi century, the immigration can be a field study by the Transitology At the time when the crisis of philosophical thought is present, this phenomenon can be studied by a reflective philosophical thought (philosophy reflective) In this paper I am focused on Albanian emigration. Even and in the case of Albanians immigration is a similarity to the historical processes of Jewish people. Albanians have realized two tragic exodus mythical proportions: on xvi century to the Italy and on 90th years of xx century to the Greece The causes of this exodus were political reasons: In the first case (xvi cent.), was the Ottoman occupation of Albania. In the case of the 90th years of xx century, was the Albanian idolatry, atheist, and socialist totalitarian regime. Nowadays Albanian emigration continues, and the main cause is the economic and social. Integration as a cultural movement of the identity: Albanian integrating movement. Identity is a process, a movement where function three vectors: identity, being time and space. Integration is analyzed as a category which functions in relationship with identity Europe was more than an old house for Albanian emigrants. It was a new relationship. It was the new unknown culture. This road passes between assimilation and isolation. The most useful and the most effective vehicle of integration is the adaptation of immigrants. The integration and returning in home in time of globalization are not divided. On our days the key “returning in home” has a new dimension. In the global era between the individual and the fatherland (motherland) has a spiritual cultural relations. This relationship is there an ideal content. It is an eternal bond and is not as dependent on material factors. Integration of migrants passing through colliding positives and negative; progressives and regressive. The religion identity of Albanian is not any essential structural component of their identity. The religion of Albanians as a part of their culture. This tendency of European society is an integrating space for Albanians. So unlike all Muslims of other countries, Albanian Muslims are integrated quickly and easily to the European secularist environment.

The article focuses on the phenomenon of youth migration as a crucial characteristic of modern society. The aim of this article is an analysis of youth spatial mobility - especially of academic youth - in the context of migration processes in Europe. The result of the analysis is the conclusion that migration is attractive for the young generation, and it constitutes a way to construct a trajectory for life and a professional path which has both positive and negative aspects. In the context of personality development, emigration of young people is an opportunity to shape life according to their own vision, imagining their life and the life of their family in a country providing better conditions. On the other hand, youth emigration is, to a certain extent, a factor which slows down and inhabits the socio-demographic and economic development of the sending country. The article characterises the essence and scale of world-wide and European migration, presents statistical data regarding characteristics of Poland as an emigration country, illustrates the relation between the situation on the job market and the exodus of youth, as well as analyses the educational migration of young people.

The song of praise in Isa 12 is a confession of faith in Yahweh. Trust arises from the recognition of the activity of God in the history of Israel. In the historical events Israel can still re-experience the might of God, especially in the exodus, through which God makes his name known to the world. The name of Yahweh is inextricably connected with Israel, which is confirmedby the title the 'Holy One of Israel'. The title underlines the vital self-offering of God, who is dwelling among His people in Zion. In this context, the 'springs of salvation' are the metaphor of the salvific action of God, who through his words calls the people to abandon fear and to lean exclusively on the strength of his person. The trust in the word of Yahweh permits Israel to 'draw from the springs of salvation'.
