Opis:
The subject of this publication is the problem of distribution management, exemplified by Company X. The process has been defined by analysing the conditions necessary to satisfy prospects' needs and create the market position of a business entity. The paper focuses on the basic features of distribution system and the character of distribution channels.The assessment of distribution management has been illustrated with an example of Company X. The subjects of interest are: the dynamics of order flow, the delivery readiness rate, and the percentage of specific complaints in the structure of complaints in total between 2009 and 2011. The Pareto chart made it possible to diagnose the main causes of the highest percentage of complaints. As a result of research, the key improvement areas have been identified, the main ones being the functioning of order processing system and completion of deliveries.
Przedmiotem rozważań w niniejszej publikacji jest problematyka zarządzania procesem dystrybucji analizowana z perspektywy przedsiębiorstwa "X". Proces ten zdefiniowano poprzez pryzmat zaspokajania potrzeb potencjalnych klientów oraz kreacji pozycji rynkowej podmiotu gospodarczego, koncentrując się na podstawowych cechach systemu dystrybucji oraz specyfice znaczących w tym aspekcie kanałów. Ocenę zarządzania procesem dystrybucji przedstawiono na przykładzie przedsiębiorstwa "X". Przedmiotem badań była analiza dynamiki liczby zamówień, wskaźnika gotowości dostawczej, jak również wskaźnika udziału poszczególnych grup reklamacji w strukturze reklamacji ogółem przeprowadzona dla okresu badawczego 2009-2011. Implementacja wykresu Pareto-Lorenza umożliwiła diagnozę głównych obszarów generujących największy procent reklamacji. W efekcie prowadzonych badań zdefiniowano kluczowe płaszczyzny wymagające modernizacji w tym w szczególności funkcjonowanie systemu obsługi zamówień jak i trudności z zakresu fizycznego dostarczania produktów oraz kompletacji dostaw.

The research confirmed that users of mobile banking use other sales channels for financial services more frequently and more intensively. The most popular functions using by mobile banking customers were checking accounts. Mobile banking is perceived as insecure, even more than internet banking. The most expected functionality of mobile banking is the ability to make NFC mobile payments for purchases in store.

For the implementation of direct measurements, proper understanding of the existing relationships and spatial variability, and at later stages, for obtaining reliable results of geostatistical analysis, adequate planning network measurement and correct placement of, and/or the evaluation of the number of measurement points in the measurement network are not the only necessary conditions. Another key prerequisite is choosing the right model for creating a DTM, which depends on the shape of the terrain. Correct spatial sampling should provide much information on the spatial distribution of the studied variable in an area, at minimal cost and with minimal effort. Faithful reproduction of the land surface that reflects any of the characteristics of the environment is not possible through DTM, due to a number of restrictions, manifesting themselves in the form and size of the data set; due to time and economic constraints; and also because the full complexity of the terrain’s surface cannot be measured or expressed. The present work undertakes to analyse the density and distribution of measuring points on four areas that have specific characteristics in common, yet they remain different in terms of surfaces, height differences, as well as their complexity. After selecting the research areas, these were designed and laid out in a grid with the shape of rectangles that were similar in structure to the GRID model. The data were analysed using geostatistical interpolation by ordinary kriging, in order to conduct a proper analysis of the distribution and density of the measuring points, to calculate the surface properties of a particular point, and in order to attempt to reduce the workload and cost factor.

The paper presents the statistical analysis of energy distribution of strong seismic shocks (energy E ≥ 105 J) occurred in the Upper Silesian Coal Basin which is one of the most seismically active mining areas in the world. In the USCB tremor epicenters do not occur uniformly throughout the whole basin but group in several regions belonging to different structural units and are separated by regions where strong shocks are not observed. The aim of the studies was to determine the modality of the energy distributions and to compare the modal types in regions of the USCB where the shocks epicenters cluster. An analysis was made for shocks with energies equal to or greater than 105 J recorded by Upper Silesian Regional Seismological Network operated by Central Mining Institute (CMI), which took place between 1987 – 2012. The analysis has proven the bimodality of seismic energy distribution in the three of five studied areas of the Upper Silesian Coal Basin. The Gumbel’s distribution II type best fit the experimental energy distribution for almost all studied tectonic units except the main syncline area, where the Gumbel’s distribution I type matched better the low-energy mode. This is due to too short time window, causing a shortage of the strongest shocks in seismic catalogue.

As an example of a successful application of a relatively simple metaheuristics for a stochastic version of a multiple criteria optimisation problem, the inventory-allocation problem is discussed. Stochastic programming is introduced to deal with the demand of end consumers. It has been shown before that simple metaheuristics, i.e., local search may be a very competitive choice for solving computationally hard optimisation problems. In this paper, robust optimisation approach is applied to select more promising initial solutions which results in a significant improvement of time complexity of the optimisation algorithms. Furthermore, it allows more flexibility in choosing the final solution that need not always be minimising the sum of costs.

The problem of delivering aviation fuel to military aircraft in the field includes not only ensuring the appropriate fuel quality, but also the safety of its transport. Delivering the appropriate amount of fuel to a specific place, irrespective of the terrain conditions, brings many difficulties. They are related to the availability of the appropriate transport equipment that would enable the safe delivery of high-quality aviation fuel to aircraft, regardless of the condition of access roads to airports and airfields. The article analyzes mobility capabilities of the available transport equipment, as well as its suitability and functionality under field conditions.

Development of the Internet undoubtedly revolutionised the economy of the world and caused the economic processes to accelerate. Owing to the development of the Web, companies can undertake actions of global nature and therefore extend the market they function on. Development of the Internet and progress in the field of information and communication technologies also plays a significant role in the transformations of distribution channels. Distri-bution of products via the Internet has been becoming increasingly popular in the recent years, which is confirmed by the data on the number of buyers buying online and the increasing value of online sales. The study is an attempt to assess the possibility of using the Internet for distribution of gro-cery products produced by small and medium food producing enterprises. The presented analyses indicate a growing interest in online food shopping, and this shows that this phenomenon is going to intensify. However, it should be noted that online food distribution will complement supply with food products purchased in brick and mortar stores, and online stores will be launched by trade companies operating on the market in traditional form. At the current scale of interest in online food shopping and high organisational and financial expenditures on running food distribu-tion online by small food producers, such initiatives should be recognised as unjustified. Regardless of the continuous increase of interest in purchases of different kinds of products online and the optimism in regard to sales via this channel, this form of sales cannot be treated as a universal distribution channel, which every producer can and should use to sell their products.
Rozwój Internetu niewątpliwie zrewolucjonizował gospodarkę na świecie i spowodował, że procesy gospodarcze zdecydowanie przyspieszyły. Dzięki rozwojowi sieci firmy mogą podejmować działania o charakterze globalnym, a tym samym także poszerzać rynek na którym funkcjonują. Rozwój Internetu oraz postęp w dziedzinie technologii informatycznych i komunikacyjnych odgrywa również istotną rolę w przeobrażeniach kanałów dystrybucji. Dystrybucja produktów za pośrednictwem Internetu staje się w ostatnich latach coraz bardziej popularna, co potwierdzają dane dotyczące liczby nabywców kupujących w sieci oraz rosnąca wartość sprzedaży realizowanej tą drogą. W opracowaniu podjęto próbę oceny możliwości wykorzystania sieci Internet do dystrybucji produktów spożywczych wytwarzanych przez małe i średnie przedsiębiorstwa produkujące żywność. Prezentowane analizy wskazują na rosnące zainteresowania zakupami żywności w sieci, a z tego wynika, że zjawisko to będzie się nasilać. Należy jednak zauważyć, że dystrybucja żywności w Internecie stanowić będzie uzupełnienie zaopatrzenia w produkty żywnościowe nabywane w sklepach stacjonarnych, a sklepy internetowe uruchamiały będą firmy handlowe prowadzące działalność na rynku w tradycyjnej formie. Przy obecnej skali zainteresowania zakupami żywności w sieci i wysokich nakładach organizacyjno-finansowych na prowadzenie dystrybucji żywności w Internecie przez małych producentów żywności, inicjatywy takie należy uznać za niezasadne. Pomimo obserwowanego ciągłego wzrostu zainteresowania zakupami różnego rodzaju pro-duktów w Internecie i optymizmu dotyczącego sprzedaży za pośrednictwem tego kanału nie można traktować tej formy sprzedaży jako uniwersalnego kanału zbytu, za pośrednictwem którego każdy producent może i powinien sprzedawać swoje produkty.

The aim of the article was to analyse the challenges and opportunities of marketing in the multi-channel distribution. On the basis of the literature, the author tried to present the issue of building the multi-channel brand and specifis of customer relationship management in multi-channel environment. In addition, attention was drawn to the phenomenon of the gradual disappearance of the differences between the channels of distribution and communication channels.
Celem artykułu była analiza wyzwań i możliwości marketingowych w dystrybucji multikanałowej. Na podstawie analizy literatury została przedstawiona m.in. problematyka budowania marki multikanałowej. Omówiono także specyfię zarządzania relacjami z klientami w środowisku multikanałowym. Ponadto zwrócono uwagę na zjawisko stopniowego zanikania różnic między kanałami dystrybucji a kanałami komunikacji.

Fiber diameter and its distribution are one of the most important parameters related with the quality of electrospun web. The diameter of electrospun nanofibres is not uniform and the histograms of values are usually distributed differently. Analysis of literature sources showed that sometimes the distribution curves are similar to normal (Gaussian) distribution. Sometimes the distribution shapes are sophisticated and do not resemble this one. The problem arises because it is impossible to compare the average values of different measurement distributions, and a method with possibilities to compare the different results for estimation of nanofibre web quality is necessary. Yet, till now no standardized method for measurement of the diameter and evaluation of the distribution has been created. In this article, various distributions from literature sources and those of nanofibre diameter obtained during own experiments were analysed. Values of the nanofibre diameter are described by normal (Gaussian) and compound mathematical distributions. It was decided that the skew of distribution along with other characteristics can be used as criterion for web estimation and the diameter of nanofibres can be described by skewed normal (Gaussian) distribution when the coefficient of skewness is less than 0.5. The possibilities of estimation by compound distribution from a few normal distributions must be checked when the coefficient is higher.
Średnica włókien i jej rozkład są jednym z najważniejszych parametrów związanych z jakością elektroprzędzionego runa. Średnica elektroprzędzionych nanowłókien jest zróżnicowana, jak i histogramy średnic, które są zwykle zróżnicowane. Analiza literatury wykazała, że czasami rozkłady są podobne do rozkładów normalnych. Czasami jednak rozkłady są bardziej skomplikowane i nie przypominają rozkładów Gaussowskich. Problem powstaje ponieważ jest niemożliwe porównanie średnich wartości średnic wynikających z rożnych pomiarów. Pożądane jest dysponowanie metodą umożliwiającą porównanie wyników uzyskanych przez rożnych badaczy. W artykule rozważono rożne rozkłady przedstawione w literaturze przedmiotu, jak również uzyskane przez autorów tego opracowania podczas własnych badań. Uzyskane rozkłady przedstawiono poprzez proste rozkłady normalne oraz rozkłady złożone. Stwierdzono, że skośność rozkładu plus dodatkowe parametry mogą być stosowane jako kryterium dla ocen elektroprzędzionego runa. Stwierdzono, że średnica nanowłókien może być określona przez skośny rozkład normalny kiedy współczynnik skośności jest mniejszy niż 0.5. Możliwość oceny rozkładu średnic poprzez złożone rozkłady normalne należy przeprowadzić kiedy współczynnik skośności jest wyższy.

Purpose: The aim of the presented investigations was to explore the possibilities of the effective use of the 8D method to improve the merchandise distribution processes. Design/methodology/approach: The application of the 8D method involved the use of support tools, such as 5Why or ABC. These tools helped to identify and categorize problems involved in the distribution of goods. Next, major problems and their causes were identified. The 8D method enabled establishing improvement, corrective and remedial actions. The last stage of the analysis was verifying the effectiveness of the implemented actions, which proved that the application of the 8D method to improve distribution processes was justified. Findings: The 8D method turned out to be an effective tool for solving problems identified in the distribution process, which proves its effective transfer from the automotive industry. Research limitations/implications: The correct use of the 8D method, which guarantees obtaining reliable and useful results, is only possible if an interdisciplinary research team is appointed. Such a team should consist of a leader and specialists from organizational units responsible for the process correctness. Small and medium-size companies may have insufficient resources to conduct investigations and analyses in a proper way. Practical implications: The discussed case study proves that it is possible to use advanced management methods in the company. Creating an efficient and experienced team should result in developing an effective mechanism for identifying the causes and solving problems in the company’s logistic processes. Originality/value: An original solution is implementation of the 8D method from the automotive industry to improve logistic processes.

The organizational structure of materials handling is illustrated with an example of a distribution plant. A route for a materials flow was outlined on the architectural design and necessary transport operations were described. A model shipping unit was selected, for which a materials flow process chart and a transport cycle chart were drawn up.
Przedstawiono strukturę organizacyjną transportu bliskiego na przykładzie zakładu dystrybucyjnego. Na podkładzie architektonicznym wyznaczono drogę przepływu materiałów i opisano konieczne operacje transportowe. Wybrano przykładową jednostkę ładunkową, dla której sporządzono kartę procesu przepływu materiału i kartę cykli transportowych.

The objective of the paper was to know preferences of consumers from Małopolskie Voivodeship as a fundamental factor of growth and functioning of distribution channels of organic products. A fast development of the organic products market as well as growing requirements of the society with regard to the quality of sale and form are observed. More and more often consumers pay attention to the source of goods and the form in which the product is offered to them. Research and analyses are a precious source of information for agricultural producers on account of production orientation and the form of sale. It will also facilitate development of existing distribution channels and formation of new ones. Research results indicate that consumers are interested in the purchase of products in small packaging or loose. Sums which they spend on organic food do not exceed PLN 400 per a month.
Celem pracy było poznanie preferencji konsumentów z terenu województwa małopolskiego jako podstawowego czynnika rozwoju i funkcjonowania kanałów dystrybucji produktów ekologicznych. Obserwujemy szybki rozwój rynku produktów ekologicznych, jak też rosnące wymagania społeczeństwa co do jakości i formy sprzedaży. Coraz częściej konsumenci zwracają uwagę na źródło pochodzenia towaru oraz postać w jaki produkt jest im proponowany. Prowadzenie takich badań i analiz jest cennym źródłem informacji dla producentów rolnych pod kątem ukierunkowania produkcji oraz doboru odpowiednich form sprzedaży. Ułatwi to również rozwój istniejących już kanałów dystrybucji oraz łatwiejsze tworzenie nowych. Wyniki badań wskazują na fakt, że konsumenci zainteresowani są zakupem produktów w małych opakowaniach lub luzem, a kwoty jakie wydają na produkty ekologiczne nie przekraczają 400 PLN w skali miesiąca.

Opis:
Purpose: The overriding goal of the considerations is to indicate the assumptions and rule for the implementation of the procedure leading to the appointment of an appropriate fuel and energy supplier in large-format enterprises (L-FE), to the extent necessary to improve economic results. The choice will take into account both the size and structure of the resources that are at the disposal of the enterprise and the environmental conditions. The practical goal will be to develop a concept for the implementation of the procedure for the evaluation and selection of a supplier of energy carriers for the needs of a commercial entity. Design/methodology/approach: The research procedure will run through the following stages: 1. Presentation of the theoretical foundations by discussing concepts related to the functioning of the fuel and energy economy as well as indicating the methods and criteria for selecting a supplier. The research method used will be a review of the literature on the subject. 2. Recognition of the L-FE decision situation through the analysis of the subjective, objective and process structure. The research method used will be direct observation with participation. The observation will be carried out in four commercial networks (in total seven enterprises). 3. Setting the assumptions for the implementation of the procedure for the evaluation and selection of the supplier of energy carriers in L-FE. At this stage, the purpose of the procedure, its essence, stages and tasks of implementation as well as the procedure will be indicated. Responsible persons and contractors will be appointed. The evaluation criteria as well as the applicable entry and exit documents will be proposed. The research method used will be the expert method. Findings: The added value of the article is the answer to the question: how is the process of assessing and selecting the supplier of energy carriers in L-FE? The work indicates its goal, stages and tasks of implementation, applicable documents, methods of proceeding and evaluation criteria. The proposed solution contains practical guidelines. Should be noted that the adopted scheme of conduct and the method of its application in a trading enterprise creates the possibility of transferring the developed solutions to other economic systems. Originality/value: In this article, the actions taken have been focused on areas that have and will have an impact on reducing the costs of the company's operation and, consequently, on improving their competitive position on the market.

The rugose coral genus Bothrophyllum Trautschold, 1879 is revised on the basis of data from the literature and the author’s personal investigation of both topotypes of its type species B. conicum and related and/or similar taxa from other areas. The intraspecific variability of the type species, its neotype, the intra-generic framework and a new generic diagnosis are established. Many more than 100 taxa related and/or similar to Bothrophyllum were analyzed and the most important of them are discussed. Detailed analysis of the type species based on the neotype and supported by additional topotype specimens illustrated here, allows restriction of both the type species and the genus, and leads to the proposition that Bothrophyllum-like taxa with a shortened cardinal septum should be considered of subgeneric (not named) status. Detailed analysis of the specimens and species described and illustrated from the type site (Myachkovo Quarry, Moscow Basin) form the basis for further considerations. On the basis of that analysis and characters established for the type species, taxa from all other European, African, Asiatic and North American areas either named Bothrophyllum or bearing characters of that genus were analyzed. The supposed origin and discussion of the relationships conclude the paper. A list of synonyms and exclusions from Bothrophyllum and lists of species included, excluded, or possibly belonging to Bothrophyllum and Bothrophyllum-like corals with a shortened cardinal septum are presented.
