In this work, a general approximate solution for the configurational force between edge dislocation and inhomogeneity of an arbitrary shape and properties with coupled thermo- mechanical loads was developed on the basis of the Eshelby equivalent inclusion theory. The effect of temperature-dependent elastic properties, thermal expansion coefficient and yield strength on the configurational forces was analyzed. Furthermore, the configurational force considered to be the driving force for dislocation migration was innovatively used to investigate the interaction mechanism between graphene and internal defects of a metal.

Opis:
Changes in the resistance of single crystals of p-type conductivity silicon under the action of mechanical loading were investigated in this research. Also, non-irradiated and pre-irradiated X-rays experimental samples were studied. It was found that at small deformation values when they are at the initial stage of the action of elastic deformation, a section forms and increases, on which the resistance practically does not depend on the applied mechanical load. In irradiated crystals, at small deformation values, electron generation processes dominate, which then recombine with the main carriers – holes. The consequence of such processes is the appearance of a maximum increase in electrical resistance at the initial stage of elastic deformation of experimental samples irradiated with X-rays. Charge carrier generation processes begin to dominate with further deformation. Such processes occur as a result of the release of acceptor centers from other complex defects, which are destroyed during the deformation of the Si crystal and captured by mobile dislocations. Thus, the processes of generation of charge carriers prevail over the processes of gettering and, accordingly, a mechano-stimulated decrease in the electrical resistance of p-Si samples occurs.

Introduction. Arterial damage associated with musculoskeletal injuries at room conditions is very common. Aim. It is worth remembering that examining a patient who has suffered an accident with a broken bone or traumatic joint dislocation may be accompanied by vascular damage. A dislocation or fracture often masks damage to the artery. Description of the case. In this paper, a 20-year-old patient being a passenger suffered upper right limb trauma in a car accident. Conclusion. The effects of vascular injuries appear only after a few hours after setting the fracture. It is not known then whether the artery was damaged at the same time with the fracture, whether the injury occurred during the adjustment, or whether the ischemia is finally the result of the pressure exerted by too tight plaster casts.

Opis:
Background. This study aimed to evaluate the outcomes of patients who underwent surgical treatment using the clavicular hook plate for diagnosed Rockwood Type 3 – Type 4 – Type 5 acromioclavicular joint separation. Material and methods. Patients who were operated with the diagnosis of acute traumatic acromioclavicular joint separation between the years 2017-2021 were evaluated retrospectively. Patients' age, gender, mechanism of injury, time to surgery, follow-up duration, and complications were evaluated. Functional results were evaluated using pre-op and post-op VAS and the Constant-Murley Shoulder Score. Results. A total of thirty patients admitted with the diagnosis of acromioclavicular joint separation were included. All patients underwent surgical treatment using the clavicular hook plate. Twenty (66.6%) patients were male and 10 (33.6%) were female. Seventeen of the patients were admitted due to sports injuries, 6 due to traffic accidents, and 7 due to workplace accidents. The patients were followed up for an average of 26.1 weeks. The Rockwood Classification was used for classification of injuries. Accordingly, 12, 13, and 5 of the patients had Type 3, Type 4, and Type 5 injury, respectively. While the mean pre-op VAS score was 7.4 (5-9), it was 1.8 (1-4) in the post-op period. The mean pre-op Constant-Murley score was 31.5 (22-42), compared to 85.1 (72-100) in the post-op period. The differences between the pre-op and post-op VAS and Constant-Murley Shoulder Scores were statistically significant. Conclusion. In this study, we achieved good functional results in the treatment of acromioclavicular joint separation by using a clavicular hook plate providing stable fixation and allowing early mobilization.

In galleries digged for different type of uses, but mostly for extracting coal, hydrotechnical adduction galleries but also for tunnels, after the dislocation of the rocks is done, the tenssions in the rock changes massively. We take for example a metallic structure used as provisory structure until the rock pressure stabilize and used in Petroșani Romania, coal mines. The galleries are digged with explosives and the shockwave gives excessive cracks and disturb the rock pressure and its characteristics. The space between the metallic structure, rock walls and bolt is filled with wood, but this article suggests a rubber band material so the rock pressure to be distributed uniformly and not concentrated in the contact points between the wood and metal profile.
W wyrobiskach wybranych do różnego rodzaju zastosowań, głównie do wydobycia węgla, budowli hydrotechnicznych, tuneli, po zakończeniu wydobycia skal napięcie w skale zmienia się ogromnie. Jako przykład pokazano stabilizowanie się ciśnienia w wyrobiskach w kopalni węgla Petroșani w Rumunii Eksploatacja jest prowadzona za pomocą materiałów wybuchowych, fala uderzeniowa powoduje nadmierne pęknięcia i zaburza ciśnienie w skałach. Przestrzeń między obudowa a górotworem metalową jest wypełniona drewnem, ale w tym artykule przedstawiono zastosowanie gumy dla uzyskania równomiernego nacisku skały.

In this paper, the macroscopic and microscopic deformation caused by sodium penetration in the carbon cathode has been studied during aluminum electrolysis. The distributions of sodium concentration in the carbon cathode has been measured by SEM-EDS. The microstructure change caused by the gradient of the sodium concentration in the carbon cathode has been studied using transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The results indicate that sodium penetration decreases with the increase of the penetration depth. The stresses caused by the gradient of the sodium concentration result in a remarkable change for the microstructure of the carbon cathode. The formation of dislocations resulting in dislocation arrays and the development of kink band networks bring about material damage growth and possibly subsequent weakening of the cathode. These results can provide useful information that is helpful in developing an improved comprehending of the microscopic deformation mechanism of the carbon cathode during aluminum electrolysis.

The paper presents a sea area model developed for the purposes of radio communication event management system in the maritime transport. The authors have presented the assumptions underlying the area model architecture, and proposed methods of modelling and presentation of dislocation of radio stations, taking into consideration their ranges. Wave propagation in sea areas has been analysed and a method of its presentation, based on an analysis of radio station ranges and feasibility of communications, has been proposed. The designed model incorporates shiptoship communications which are essential for messaging coast stations.

Opis:
The antiplane problem of elasticity theory for a layered anisotropic medium containing the plane ribbon inhomogenities is solved using the jump function method. The external load is determined by the boundary conditions, concentrated forces and screw dislocations inside layers. The inclusions are modelled by jumps of the stress and displacement vectors on the middle surfaces. Using the Fourier integral transform we obtain the relation between the stress tensor and displacement vector components and the external load is unknown functions of jumps. Taking into account the conditions interaction of between thin inclusion and anisotropic enviroment, the problem is reduced to a system of singular integral equations in the functions of jumps. In a general case the last is solved by means the collocation method. Some example is considered to illustate the method.
W pracy rozwiązano metodą funkcji skoków antypłaskie zagadnienie sprężystości dla pliku anizotropowych warstw, w których są cienkie laminarne inkluzje. Zadane są naprężenia lub przemiszczenia na granice ośrodka, działanie skupionych sił i dyslokacji śrubowych. Inkluzje są modelowane przez skoki wektorów naprężeń i przemiszczeń na powierzchniach środkowych. Przez zastosowanie wykładniczej transformacji całkowitej Fouriera, otrzymujemy zależność współrzędnych tensora naprężeń i pochodnych wektora przemieszczeń od obciążenia zewnętrznego i poszukiwanych funkcji skoków. Z uwzględnieniem warunków oddziaływania cienkiej inkluzji ze środowiskiem anizotropowym zagadnienie jest sprowadzane do układu równań całkowych osobliwych typu Cauchy. W ogólnym przypadku ten układ jest rozwiązany metodą kolokacji. Metodę ilustrują obliczenia dla konkretnego zagadnienia.

The state of the dislocation substructure of meteorite in which the history of phenomena accompanying the meteorite during its passage through the Earth’s atmosphere is recorded remains unused. The main goal of the presented work is a comprehensive analysis of the dislocation structure of the iron meteorite from the Morasko reserve (Poland, Wielkopolska Voivodeship) by TEM methods to determine the conditions and mechanism of its formation. The work is cognitive in the field of phenomena related to the destruction and deformation of the material in extreme conditions: space and terrestrial space. It can also be useful in the research on the creation of the material with specific mechanical properties, as well as a unique reference material for earth experiments with low-temperature deformation, high-speed deformation, recrystallization processes with short thermal pulses and structure relaxation in conditions of very long time periods.

Using conformal mapping techniques, superposition and analytic continuation, we derive analytic solutions to the problem of a screw dislocation interacting with a parabolic elastic inhomogeneity. The screw dislocation can be located anywhere either in the surrounding matrix or in the parabolic inhomogeneity or simply on the parabolic interface itself. We obtain explicit expressions for the two analytic functions in the image plane characterizing the elastic fields describing displacement and stresses in the two-phase composite. Using the Peach-Koehler formula, we also obtain the image force acting on the screw dislocation. The analytic function defined in the parabolic inhomogeneity in the physical plane can be interpreted in terms of real and image screw dislocations for any location of the real screw dislocation.

This paper presents an experimental investigation of the hot deformation behaviour of 15% B₄C particle reinforced AA6061 matrix composites and the establishment of a novel corresponding unified and physically-based visco-plastic material model. The feasibility of hot forming of a metal matrix composite (MMC) with a low volume fraction reinforcement has been assessed by performing hot compression tests at different temperatures and strain rates. Examination of the obtained stress-strain relationships revealed the correlation between temperature and strain hardening extent. Forming at elevated temperatures enables obvious strain rate hardening and reasonably high ductility of the MMC. The developed unified material model includes evolution of dislocations resulting from plastic deformation, recovery and punching effect due to differential thermal expansion between matrix and reinforcement particles during non-steady state heating and plastic straining. Good agreement has been obtained between experimental and computed results. The proposed material model contributes greatly to a more thorough understanding of flow stress behaviour and microstructural evolution during the hot forming of MMCs.

In this study, an electrochemical method was used to permeate hydrogen through annealed DP590 steel under various pre-strain conditions (0-15%). Stress-strain and internal friction-temperature curves of the dual phase (DP) steel were obtained from slow strain-rate tensile tests and internal friction measurements, respectively. The diffusion of interstitial atoms, formation of Cottrell atmospheres, and embrittlement mechanism of DP steel were investigated under different prestress conditions before and after hydrogen permeation. The results show that the tensile strength of DP steel first decreases and then increases and the elongation sharply decreases with increasing pre-strain. The strength and ductility present similar trends with changes in pre-strain before and after hydrogen charging, however, after hydrogen charging, an obvious increase in tensile strength and decrease in elongation are observed. Furthermore, the γ peak amplitude decreases and the Snoek-Ke-Koster (SKK) peak amplitude increases with increasing internal pre-strain according to the friction-temperature curve. The γ peak and SKK peak exhibit the same trends with increasing pre-strain before and after hydrogen charging and both the γ peak and SKK peak decrease with hydrogen charging. The dislocation density in DP steel increases after hydrogen charging.

The model describing evolution of dislocation population based on fundamental works of Kocks, Estrin and Mecking (KEM) is a useful tool in modelling of metallic materials processing. In combination with the Sandstrom and Lagneborg approach it can predict changes of the dislocation density accounting for hardening, recovery and recrystallization. Numerical solutions of a one-parameter model (average dislocation density), as well as for two types of dislocations and three types of dislocation are described in the literature. All these solutions were performed for deterministic variables. On the other hand, an advanced modelling of materials requires often an information about distribution of parameters. This is the case when uncertainty of the model has to be evaluated or when an information about distribution of product properties is needed. The latter is crucial when deterioration of local formability is caused by sharp gradients of properties. Thus, the investigation of possibilities of numerical solution for the KEM model with stochastic variables was the main objective of the present work. Evolution equation was written for the distribution function and solution was performed using Monte Carlo method. Analysis of the results with respect to the reliability and computing costs was performed. The conclusions towards selection of the best approach were formulated.
Model opisujący ewolucję populacji dyslokacji wykorzystujący fundamentalne prace Kocksa, Estrina i Meckinga (KEM model) jest użytecznym narzędziem w modelowaniu przetwórstwa materiałów metalicznych. W połączeniu z modelem Sandstroma i Lagneborga możliwe jest przewidywanie zmian gęstości dyslokacji uwzględniając zjawiska umocnienia, zdrowienia i rekrystalizacji. Numeryczne rozwiązania dla jednoparametrowego modelu (średniej gęstości dyslokacji), jak i dla dwóch lub trzech rozdajów dyslokacji, jest opisane w literaturze. Te rozwiązania zostały przeprowadzone dla zmiennych deterministycznych. Z drugiej strony zaawansowane modelowanie materiałów wymaga informacji o rozkładzie parametrów. Ma to miejsce np., kiedy potrzebna jest ocena niepewności wyników lub informacja o funkcji rozkładu własności materiału. To ostatnie jest ważne, kiedy obniżenie lokalnej odporności mateiału na pękanie jest powodowane przez ostre gradienty własności. Stąd celem niniejszej pracy była ocena możliwości numerycznego rozwiązania dla modelu KEM ze zmiennymi losowymi. Równanie ewolucji dyslokacji zapisano dla funkcji rozkładu prawdopodobieństwa i przeprowadzono rozwiązanie wykorzystując metodę Monte Carlo. Przeprowadzono analizę wyników w aspekcie ich dokładności oraz oceniając koszty obliczeń. Sformułowane zostały wnioski sugerujące dobór najlepszych parametrów modelu numerycznego.

The paper investigates the nanoindentation process with different rates in the Cu (001) of FCC system. The indentation process was done using molecular dynamics simulation based on the embedded atom method theory and Morse potential. Simulation process of indentation used a rigid spherical indenter with the diamond structure. To structure characterization we applied the adaptive common neighbour and the dislocation extraction analysis. It was found that the range of the linear change of the indentation force depends on the rate of response of the system. The initial range of the linear dependence of stress evolution also depends on the rate of indentation. Moreover, the average total normal stress in the system is only compressive. After linear changes, we observe oscillating changes in stress evolution. During indentation, for the range of linear changes of stress, dislocations aggregated only around the indenter surface. The creation of dislocations is directly connected with the structural changes. The structure analysis revealed the formation of HCP and BCC structure in the Cu (001) of FCC systems and a correlation with the creation of dislocations.
