    Opis:
    A bibliometric analysis of TASK Quarterly in the years 1997-2021 in terms of various bibliometric indicators was performed to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the publication of the first issue of the journal. The number of publications and citations increased over the mentioned span of years. The leading countries in terms of the greatest number of papers published in TASK Quarterly are Poland, Italy, Germany, Ukraine, USA and Russia. Moreover, it is shown that international collaboration can result in a greater number of citations per publication. The average publication time in TASK Quarterly is 77 days, including the average submission-acceptance time (44 days) and the average acceptance publication time (33 days). Based on the author’s findings, it can be seen that although TASK Quarterly is a journal devoted mainly to physical and computer sciences, many publications also focus on the aspects related to mathematics, biomedical engineering and biophysics. CFD, molecular dynamics, the finite element method (FEM) and numerical simulations are the most frequently used keywords in articles published in TASK Quarterly.

    Due to the fact that clusters should implement the idea of an open innovation model, the paper focuses on the role of Lower Silesian clusters in promoting knowledge flow between enterprises and other network participants, which are measured by the numbers of joint inventions and patent citations. On the basis of the analysis of national and international patent applications, it has been found that few inventions of enterprises are created in cooperation with other cluster members as well as that enterprises refer to the knowledge of other cluster members in their patent descriptions to a limited extent, which in general does not support the thesis that cluster membership contributes to the intensification of knowledge-diffusion processes.

    Bibliometric analysis is instrumental in analysing and documenting the publication trends of a particular variable over time. In the framework of Bibliometric analysis, this study investigates the trends of borderline personality disorder (BPD). Data were retrieved from the Scopus database between 2010 and 2020. Further, the study was delimited to psychology, social sciences, and arts and humanities subjects only. Publications produced in English were considered for the study. In the backdrop of the selection scheme, a total of 1453 publications were extracted from the database. It is evident from the analysis that there is a significant difference between the number of citations with respect to year of publishing and type of publication. Review papers score a greater number of citations. Both national and international collaborations should be supported to produce quality publications.

    The present paper analyses the rubrication patterns in two Old Nubian manuscripts (known under the sigla St and SC) both originally intended for deposition at the Jesus Church in Serra East. Through a comparison with rubrication patterns in other Old Nubian manuscripts, the authors argue that the rubricated phrases in St and SC show an internal coherence that could be interpreted as a ‘second voice’ in a ‘polyphonic’ text.

    W artykule podjęto próbę ukazania roli systemu patentowego w internacjonalizacji dyfuzji wiedzy technicznej. Jego celem jest analiza wykorzystania przez polskie przedsiębiorstwa aktywne wynalazczo, międzynarodowej wiedzy technicznej udostępnianej za pośrednictwem systemów patentowych. Dla jego realizacji przeprowadzono badania polegające na jakościowej analizie tzw. cytowań patentowych, umieszczonych w dokumentacji technicznej zgłoszonych do ochrony wynalazków. Wnioski wynikające z badań wskazują na wysoki stopniem internacjonalizacji dyfuzji wiedzy technicznej w odniesieniu do publikacji naukowych i technicznych i niski, gdy podstawą są już istniejące rozwiązania techniczne.
    The author attempts to show the role of the patent system in the internationalization of diffusion of technical knowledge. The purpose is to analyse the use of international technical knowledge made available through patent systems by Polish companies that are inventively active. To accomplish it, research was carried out based on a quantitative analysis of the so-called patent citations, included in the technical documentation submitted for the protection of inventions. Conclusions resulting from the research show a high degree of internationalization of the diffusion of technical knowledge in relation to scientific and technical publications and a low one when the existing technical solutions are the basis.

    Opis:
    The article presents the work in Bulgaria on the preparation and publication of the Cyrillo-Methodian bibliography. It has been highlighted that since 1980 the Cyrillo-Methodian Research Centrе at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences has been the institution responsible at international level for the collection, processing and publishing of the Cyrillo-Methodian Bibliography. The stages of automation of the bibliography are traced and the need to convert the records from the bibliographic database to a machine-readable format for data exchange is justiefid. The main prospects for the development of the electronic Cyrillo-Methodian Bibliography are outlined as follows: full-text presentation of the publications described therein; application of bibliographic citation measurement software; constructing an application in which users can add bibliographic records and electronic resources in the efild of Cyrillo-Methodian studies.

    The present paper aims at analysing two inscriptions from the Faras Cathedral. Both contain prayers addressed to God by certain individuals. The first of them is in Greek and is modelled on Ps. 85:1–2; the second is an original composition in Old Nubian with information about the protagonist and the author in Greek. The publication gives the description of inscriptions, transcript of texts with critical apparatus, translation, and commentary elucidating all significant aspects of the texts.

    This opinion paper puts forward arguments that reflect how science’s most elite prize, the Nobel Prize may be, despite its grand stature, somewhat out of touch with the functionality of grassroots science. There is a disconnect between limited fields of study to which the prize is awarded and the interdisciplinary nature of complex research. This is the first weakness. The second limitation is the focus on a single individual, occasionally on two or three when the prize is divided, even though much research is frequently collaborative. This is particularly true in the biomedical and natural sciences, which tend to involve individuals with multiple skills, each or all of whom may be equally deserving of the Nobel Prize, given their collective participation. The Nobel Prize also tends to display poor cultural, linguistic and gender representation and/or bias. Finally, retractions of papers by select Nobel Prize laureates suggest that even these elite academics are not immune to the ills of science and academic publishing and that affect all scientists in a complex global web.

    The h-index concept has been analysed in aspects of a contemporary tendency of parameterisation of everything and as the potential measure of the knowledge progress, which recognises individuals, institutions and Engineering sub-disciplines that best generate new knowledge. Considerations have been presented at the level of universality of knowledge which implies permanent progress and on the base of careful thoughts of the domestic experience. The h-nature of things has been described, and several axiomatic characterisations of the Hirsch index have been gathered. The mechanism how to increase the h-index has been presented. Some similarities between h-index and the journal impact factor (JIF) have been stressed. Also the universal role of H-index in ranking countries in all areas and in Engineering has been exampled in extended tables. The Glänzel’s model which connects the h-index with two fundamental scientometric indicators: number of publications and the rate of citation, has been analysed. Following the Microsoft Academic Search, the lists of 15 top scientists from various academic disciplines and separately in Engineering have been composed. It has been found that the population of the best keeps basically the same relations between the h-index and a number of publication, and between the h-index and a citation number. However, even the best in Engineering should publish 2 times a year or more papers to receive the same h-index as top scientists in overall domains. The h-index distribution of domestic Engineering sub-disciplines has been presented and analysed in statistic categories. The suitable hhistograms and the cumulative probability density function (CPDF) have been elaborated for 21 sub-disciplines and thereupon the Engineering sub-disciplines have been arranged into three clusters. It has been demonstrated that Engineering as the whole and Engineering sub-disciplines are underestimated, compared to other academic disciplines. The adequate normalisation factors have been suggested. Several other conclusions considered the h,H-indices as the measure of the knowledge progress addressed to individual researchers and to collective, e.g., journals, institutions, organisations, countries, adequately have been written. The h,H-indices are the general measure of the position of the given subject (person or organisation) but cannot be universal.

    Science as a corpus of scientific statements is a simplified image; science is a social phenomenon, inseparable from the context, to which scientific information also belongs. It brings us not only the contents of what science holds, but also the image of science, scientific roles, research priorities, and many others. It is not only that institutions, products and routines of scientific information reflect the features of scientific endeavours; they also point to what is important and worth making an effort. They surround the scholar as a “white noise”, distributing a set of values, which are not fully verbalized and which are not openly taught. In earlier decades the dominating motifs were the scientific Weltanschauung and the respect for hierarchies in scientific communities. Currently, in Poland, it is publishing in journals. Institutions of scientific information strengthen and proliferate that model, and a cultural complex has emerged, with articles and their citations as its constitutive features. Theoretically, the system of scientific information is designed to support also empirical research and data collecting. It is obvious, however, that these elements are not only less vulnerable to parameters; they are also not so directly linked to individual success. And just this remains an object of everlasting desire, preserving mental barriers, which keep the scientific endeavour in Poland far from teamwork and social responsibility.
    Nauka jako zbiór twierdzeń naukowych to uproszczony obraz; nauka jest zjawiskiem społecznym, nieodłącznym od kontekstu, do którego również należy informacja naukowa. Niesie nam ona nie tylko określone treści wypracowane w trakcie badań naukowych, ale także wizerunek nauki, role naukowe, priorytety badawcze itp. Instytucje, produkty i procedury informacji naukowej nie tylko zatem odzwierciedlają wyniki przedsięwzięć naukowych, ale wskazują również adeptom nauki, co jest ważne i warte wysiłku. Otaczając uczonego niczym „biały szum”, upowszechniają cały zespół wartości, które są słabo zwerbalizowane i nie podlegają świadomemu rozpowszechnianiu. Kiedyś w podejmowaniu przedsięwzięć badawczych chodziło głównie o wchłanianie wartości naukowych i poczucia hierarchii. Obecnie w Polsce jest to publikowanie w czasopismach; instytucje informacji naukowej nastawione są na wzmacnianie i upowszechnianie tego modelu. Uczelniane systemy obsługi badań naukowych premiują publikację artykułów, a w skali kraju wyrósł swoisty kompleks kulturowy z artykułami i ich cytowaniami jako elementami konstytutywnymi. Właściwie nie widać innej miary sukcesu naukowego, choć teoretycznie system informacji naukowej jest zaprojektowany tak, by doceniane były także badania empiryczne i gromadzenie danych. Widać jednak, że te elementy oceny są nie tylko mniej podatne na parametryzację – są także mniej bezpośrednio związane z indywidualnym sukcesem uczonego. On zaś pozostaje wciąż przedmiotem największego pożądania, nadając trwałość barierom mentalnym, które oddalają naukę w Polsce od pracy zespołowej, a nawet od poczucia odpowiedzialności społecznej.

    The rapid explosion in technology is unpredictable and very drastic such that it has conquered every aspect and areas of human life. There is such areas where technology has not yet reached. Education being an area that has direct impact on the society is nowhere an exception. Hence, as a teacher or teacher educator one has to update his knowledge and skills in using technology, especially ICT, as the classrooms are being dominated by smart classrooms. They now have to learn how to cope with these technological advancements and innovative approaches in their classrooms Uses of technology in the professional development and capacity building of teachers may be defined in two folds; that is technology for professional development and professional development for efficient use of technology in teaching learning process. When technology develops in a very drastic speed, it is the duty of the teacher to update himself on various areas of ICT that can be used in the classroom transaction. Various online programs and online learning are being introduced that can be used by teachers in the classroom. Hence, the teacher has to update his knowledge and skills through various professional development programmes. The administration of schools has to provide such platform to teachers to undergo such training to cope up with current development and changes in technology. Technology can be used not only as an information management tool, but also as a means of reaching students of diverse backgrounds in a way professionally sound (Torres, 2006). Hence, technology can be seen having implications for classroom learning as well as in reaching students of the disadvantaged group provided the availability of technology in their areas. The use of technology can assess the quality of their papers or articles using technology. It helps to identify aspects such as the number of times cited, plagiarism etc. These educational software has been introduced in order to maximize quality of all papers being published. In the present paper, we have discussed the linkage of technology with special focus on ICT and Professional development of teachers. Focus of this paper is on and around E- Resources, Integration of Advanced Technology in Teacher Training, citations index, and impact of research publication in the public domain.

    In 2016, the scientific journal „Zeszyty Teoretyczne Rachunkowości” (ZTR) celebrated its 40th anniversary. The objective of this paper is to present the development of ZTR in the period between 1977 and 2016, and the impact it has had on the accounting science in Poland. Achieving the objective was possible thanks to an analysis of data coming from particular volumes of ZTR, from the Index Copernicus publishing platform, and the programme Publish or Perish which is used for evaluating citations of authors and magazines. The analysis of research material has shown that ZTR has developed over the years, aiming to increase the quality of articles, creating an additional value for scientists and other recipients and aiming at world-wide recognition. These statements can be confirmed by the analysis of the number of articles, authors, and subject ranges, which shows that in each one of these aspects there has been a significant increase in recent years in comparison to the previous decades. Furthermore, the scientific journal marked an increase in the number of downloads of full texts in the period between 2011 and 2015, not only in Poland but also around the world. As for foreign recipients of the articles published in ZTR (2013–2015), the biggest number come from the United States and also from Russia, Germany, China, France, Italy and Great Britain. The increasing number of downloads of ZTR texts by foreigners and the similar increase in citation indicators confirm the increase in the importance of both the journal and the Polish accounting science internationally.
    W 2016 r. czasopismo naukowe „Zeszyty Teoretyczne Rachunkowości” (ZTR) obchodziło swoje 40-lecie. Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie rozwoju ZTR w latach 1977–2016 i jego oddziaływania na naukę rachunkowości w Polsce. Do realizacji tego celu posłużyła analiza danych z poszczególnych tomów ZTR, platformy wydawniczej „Index Copernicus” i programu „Publish or Perish” wykorzystywanego do oceny cytowań autorów i czasopism. Analiza zgromadzonego materiału badawczego wykazała, że czasopismo sukcesywnie rozwija się; poprawia się jakość artykułów, kreowana jest dodatkowa war-tość dla naukowców i innych odbiorców oraz zwiększa się rozpoznawalność ZTR w skali międzynarodowej. Zarysowane powyżej tendencje potwierdza przeprowadzona analiza liczebności artykułów, auto-rów, zakresów tematycznych, która wskazuje, że w każdym z tych aspektów występuje znaczący wzrost w ostatnich latach w stosunku do okresów poprzednich. Ponadto czasopismo naukowe zanotowało wzrost liczby pobrań pełnych tekstów w latach 2011–2015, nie tylko w Polsce, ale i na świecie. Spośród zagranicznych odbiorców artykułów opublikowanych w ZTR (2013–2015) najwięcej pochodzi ze Stanów Zjednoczonych oraz z Rosji, Niemiec, Chin, Francji, Włoch i Wielkiej Brytanii. Rosnąca liczba pobrań tekstów ZTR przez zagranicznych czytelników, a także zwiększenie wskaźników cytowalności stanowią potwierdzenie wzrostu znaczenia czasopisma, a tym samym polskiej nauki rachunkowości na arenie międzynarodowej.
