Opis:
Generalized solutions to quasilinear hyperbolic systems in the second canonical form are investigated. A theorem on existence, uniqueness and continuous dependence upon the boundary data is given. The proof is based on the methods due to L. Cesari and P. Bassanini for systems which are not functional.

Opis:
The Chern-Moser (CM) normal form of a real hypersurface in $ℂ^N$ can be obtained by considering automorphisms whose derivative acts as the identity on the complex tangent space. However, the CM normal form is also invariant under a larger group (pseudo-unitary linear transformations) and it is this property that makes the CM normal form special. Without this additional restriction, various types of normal forms occur. One of them helps to give a simple proof of a (previously complicated) theorem about triviality of the scalar linear type isotropy subgroup of a nonquadratic hypersurface. An example of an analogous nontrivial subgroup for a 2-codimensional CR surface in $ℂ^4$ is constructed. We also consider the question whether the group structure that is induced on the family of normalisations to the CM normal form via the parametrisation of the isotropy automorphism group of the underlining hyperquadric coincides with the natural composition operation on the biholomorphisms.

Opis:
This paper proposes two methods for nonlinear observer design which are based on a partial nonlinear observer canonical form (POCF). Observability and integrability existence conditions for the new POCF are weaker than the well-established nonlinear observer canonical form (OCF), which achieves exact error linearization. The proposed observers provide the global asymptotic stability of error dynamics assuming that a global Lipschitz and detectability-like condition holds. Examples illustrate the advantages of the approach relative to the existing nonlinear observer design methods. The advantages of the proposed method include a relatively simple design procedure which can be broadly applied.

Opis:
The control of nonholonomic canonical form using an invariant manifold is investigated to apply to a mobile robot steered by two independent driving wheels. A quasi-continuous exponential stabilizing controller is designed by using another input pattern. Additionally, the control gain designing method is proposed for this controller. Modified error system of nonholonomic double integrator model is used as nonholonomic canonical form. Generally, the gain cannot be calculated due to the non-linear transform of system. Owing to complicated relation of several parameters, the controller behavior is inconstant by gain pattern. We propose a method of designing gain which uses desired settling time. An approximate equation to obtain designed gains is derived based on the evaluation function. The design method to determine gains of the assumed actual system is simulated. The effectiveness of the proposed method is confirmed by these simulations.

The paper consists of two parts. In the first part, new canonical forms are defined for singular 1D linear systems and a procedure to determine nonsingular matrices transforming matrices of singular systems to their canonical forms is derived. In the second part new canonical forms of matrices of the singular 2D Roesser model are defined and a procedure for determining realisations in canonical forms for a given 2D transfer function is presented. Necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of a pair of nonsingular block diagonal matrices transforming the matrices of the singular 2D Roesser model to their canonical forms are established. A procedure for computing the pair of nonsingular matrices is presented.

Opis:
Introduced after the Second Vatican Council, the norm permitting the lay person to be a qualified witness of marriage entered in the canonical form has not been yet further elaborated in Polish canonist literature. This study seeks to fill this gap in the Polish canonist literature. The first part of the presentation is devoted to the development of the norm in post-conciliar legislation before the promulgation of the 1983 Code of Canon Law. The next part presents the conditions for the delegation of a lay person to assist at marriage in accordance with canon 1112: a lack of priests and deacons, consent of the diocesan bishop with the favourable vote of the conference of bishops and the permission of the Holy See. The last addressed issue is the duties of delegated lay persons in connection with their task to prepare the intending parties for marriage, to verify their ability to conclude it, to preside over the ritual, and to record this fact in church documentation.

It is shown that the uncontrollable pair (A,B) and unobservable pair (A,C) of linear systems can be transform to their controllable (̅ , ̅ ) and observable (̅ , ̅ ) canonical forms by suitable choice of nonsingular matrix M satisfying the condition [ ] = [̅ ̅ ] and [ ] = [̂ ̂ ], respectively. It is also shown that by suitable choice of the gain matrix K of the feedbacks of the derivative of the state vector it is possible to reduce the descriptor system to the standard one.

The notion of a common canonical form for a sequence of square matrices is introduced. Necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of a similarity transformation reducing the sequence of matrices to the common canonical form are established. It is shown that (i) using a suitable state vector linear transformation it is possible to decompose a linear 2D system into two linear 2D subsystems such that the dynamics of the second subsystem are independent of those of the first one, (ii) the reduced 2D system is positive if and only if the linear transformation matrix is monomial. Necessary and sufficient conditions are established for the existence of a gain matrix such that the matrices of the closed-loop system can be reduced to the common canonical form.

Opis:
Matrix Mittag‑Leffler functions play a key role in numerous applications related to systems with fractional dynamics. That is why the methods for computing the matrix Mittag‑Leffler function are so important. The matrix Mittag‑Leffler function is a generalization of matrix exponential function. This implies that some of numerous existing methods for computing the matrix exponential can be adapted for matrix Mittag‑Leffler functions as well. Unfortunately, the technique of scaling and squaring, widely used in computing of the matrix exponential, cannot be applied to matrix Mittag‑Leffler functions, as the latter do not possess the semigroup property. Here we describe a method of computing the matrix Mittag‑Leffler function based on the Jordan canonical form representation. This method is implemented with Matlab code [1].
