W artykule przedstawiono sytuację polskiego transportu kolejowego podczas pierwszej i drugiej fali pandemii COVID-19. Nakreślono zauważalne trendy wykorzystania transportu kolejowego. Przedstawiono podstawowe parametry, jak: liczba pasażerów, ilość przewiezionych towarów, wskaźniki obrazujące stan przewozów kolejowych w 2020 i 2021 roku. Do poznania zagadnień wykorzystano przegląd literatury, tj. pozycje zwarte, artykuły naukowe oraz analizę danych statystycznych z Raportów Urzędu Transportu Kolejowego.
In this article the situation of Polish rail transport during the first and second waves of the COVID-19 pandemic is presented. Noticeable trends of rail transport usage are outlined. Basic parameters such as the number of passengers, the amount of goods transported indicators depicting the state of rail transport in 2020 and 2021 are shown. To learn about the issues, a review of the literature was used, i.e. compact items, scientific articles, and an analysis of statistical data from the Reports of the Railway Transport Office.

There are very many different laws of distribution (for example), bell-shaped (Gaussian) distribution, lognormal, Weibull distribution, exponential, uniform, Poisson's, Student's distributions and so on, which help to describe the real picture of failures with elements in various mechanical systems, in locomotives and carriages, too. To diminish the possibility of getting the rough error in the output of maths data treatment the new method is demonstrated in this article. The task is solved both to the discrete, and to the continuous distributions.

The paper presents a proposal of methodology for revitalisation of regional railway tracks and regional railway traffic, liberalization and competition in railway transport, quality requirements in regional traffic, principles of the contract on transport services in the public interest and with the current state of regional passenger transport in Slovakia and Serbia. First part of the paper deals with a theoretical approach of transport policy, transport regulation, suburban transport and introduces a methodology for revitalisation of regional railway tracks.
Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit Vorschlag der Methodik der Wiederbelebung der regionalen Eisenbahnlinien und regionalen Bahnverkehr, Liberalisierung und Wettbewerb im Eisenbahnverkehr, Qualitätsanforderungen im Regionalverkehr, Grundsätze des Vertrags auf Verkehrsleistungen im öffentlichen Interesse und mit dem aktuellen Stand der regionalen Personenverkehr in der Slowakei und Serbien. Ersten Teil der Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit theoretischen Ansatz der Verkehrspolitik, Verkehrsregelung, Vorortverkehr und die Vorbereitung Methodik der Wiederbelebung der regionalen Eisenbahnlinien.

The railway transport of goods was in past the most used type of transport. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the performance of this mode of transport was reduced. At present, international trade is expanding in the direction of Asia–Europe. For economic and, above all, ecological reasons, it is appropriate to move the transport operations back to rail transport. The article focuses on progressive systems of railway transport of freight in the East–West direction, namely the use of the CargoBeamer system. CargoBeamer system (hereinafter referred to as CB) is an innovative technology for the transport of road semi-trailers and containers CBoXX specially designed for the CB system. The main advantage of this system is to support the transport standard road semitrailers, which will be implemented in 70% of shipments in road transport in the EU. The CB system is largely automated, especially for horizontal loading and unloading or when changing the gauge. The CB system allows to lower the shipment time significantly, thanks to automatisation of loading and unloading processes and gauge change. The benefits of the CB system are presented by an example of the necessary manipulation operations by a China– Russia– Europe goods shipment. Opis:
An indispensable component of ensuring safe control of railway and sea transport in conditions of hot climate is maintenance of comfortable temperature of air in control cabins and living spaces. Now the interest is restored to use the Air Refrigerating Plants (ARP) as they have a wide potential of low-temperature cooling without use of ozone-destructive cooling agents prohibited by decision of die Montreal meeting. At the same time, air conditioning installations on the basis of turbo-expanders have low refrigerating factor, they are very expensive in manufacturing and require a high level of maintenance service. Alternative trend of perfection of air refrigeration units is connected with a new principle of organization of working process, based on the use as expander and compressor of aggregates of cascade exchanger of pressure (CPE). Besides of unsurpassed efficiency of exchange processes, CPE is characterized by simplicity of design and high reliability, including, due to low frequency of rotation (2000-3000 min") with practically absence of consumption of mechanical energy on the drive of the rotor. The attractive aspect of application of equipment of conditioning with CPE is the opportunity of organization of working process only due to thermal energy including the utilization in the heat-power installation of transport vehicle.

Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit Vorschlag der Methodik der Wiederbelebung der regionalen Eisenbahnlinien und regionalen Bahnverkehr, Liberalisierung und Wettbewerb im Eisenbahnverkehr, Qualitätsanforderungen im Regionalverkehr, Grundsätze des Vertrags auf Verkehrsleistungen im öffentlichen Interesse und mit dem Stand der regionalen Personenverkehr in der Slowakei und Serbien. Zweiter Teil der Arbeit beschäftigt sich die Situation der regionalen Eisenbahnverkehr und Änderung auf dem Eisenbahnverkehrsmarkt in der Slowakei und Serbien und mit der Möglichkeit der Anwendung der Methodik und Revitalisierung dieser Staaten.

Rail Baltica is a greenfield rail transport infrastructure project aiming to integrate the Baltic States in the European rail network. The project includes five European Union countries – Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and inddirectly also Finland. Rail Baltica is the largest railroad infrastructure project – to be constructed – in the Baltic countries in the last 100 years. It will form a new economic corridor, which will closely connect the North East of the Europe with the rest of the European Union.

For long functioning of the friction unit it is necessary to create the steady layers between friction surfaces, which can lower considerably the friction force, and thereof also the wear reducing. Within the metal-polymer tribocoupling the friction transfer film shall function as a separating layer. The frame and kinetics of filming of friction carry at metal- binary material friction is studied, that creates the base for mining new high-performance self-lubricating polymer compositions. When the unit with a lubricant functions, a role of the uncoupling layer is being fulfilled by the lubricating film, which shall possess the given properties, that is to contain in its composition the nanoclaster additives, capable to function in a tribocoupling for a long time, constantly reappearing in a film due to the chemical reactions at friction. It is shown that introduction of nanomodified additives on the basis of phosphorus molybdate of metals into widely used lubricant compositions allows to create steady lubricant films between friction surfaces. The possible mechanism of action of inorganic phosphoprous-containing additives of the polymeric nature is discussed.

Opis:
Intensive pursuit in the introduction of automatic train driving systems, both with and without the driver in the cabin, can be observed around the world. Implementation of such a system allows for an increase in both the safety level of traffic and capacity of railway lines and consequently, an increase in the running frequency of these trains, which is extremely important in large urban agglomerations. One type of automatic train system is the CBTC class, in which a wireless network is used for data transmission. An important issue in the systems of this class is the problem of transferring information from the track to the train about the possibility and method of driving. This article describes the possible ways of sending information from the track to the train. The system of information transmission from track to trains (SPITP) was defined and discussed. The general characteristics of the CBTC class systems were presented. In Poland, a scientific project which aimed at developing the CBTC class system was recently undertaken. It is called rmCBTC and is being prepared as part of a project carried out by the Rail-Mil Computers Sp. z o. o. from Warsaw and the Faculty of Transport of the Warsaw University of Technology, co-financed by the National Center for Research and Development from the European Union Funds. This article presents the assumptions of the designed system and discusses the scope of data that is necessary in the subsystem of information transfer from the track to the train with the rmCBTC system.

To solve the problem of improving the quality control of substation equipment maintenance and repair process the structural and functional analysis for the distances of power supply has been performed. As a linguistic support for this task the International Standards Package Modeling IDEF (Icam Definition) has been used. It allows to analyze the process from three key perspectives at the same time – IDEFO (Integrated Definition for Function Modeling), IDEF3 and DFD (Data Flow Diagram). IDEF modeling is a way to reduce the amount of costly errors by structuring the process in the early stages of creating intelligent systems. It improves the communication between users and developers and smooth the transition from analysis to design. A complex task of equipment maintenance and repair process has been divided into a series of simple tasks on the basis of IDEF modeling. Structural - functional modeling with the selection of events has been done according to the IDEF0 methodology. Description of processes has been done according to the methodology IDEFЗ. DFD method has been used for building the data flow diagrams. Conducted structural-functional analysis has been shown that at some stages this process often requires the operational definition of different types of resources needed to perform repair work.

The paper presents the requirements, architecture and important features of a modern IT system of logistics for rail transport. The purpose of the system is to provide logistic support of transport issues relating to the work performed in the sectors of transport and maintenance of railway enterprises. In particular, special attention was paid to optimization problems of strategic and operational planning applying modern optimization algorithms. System architecture, the basic functional modules and their relationship are presented as an example of the system used by the Polish rail operators, engaged in the transport of both passenger and freight. The system is characterized by centralized architecture, divided into an application server, a database server and a terminals server. The system takes full advantage of modern mobile technologies. The study outlines basic logistics processes implemented in the system, among others,: planning of transport using background maps and a scheme of railway network, records of vehicles and employees, allocation of transport work for individual units, planning cycles of vehicles and trains, scheduling work for vehicles, train driver crews and train attendant teams, creating work schedules, short-term and long-term dispatches, verification and accounting of the work time, accounting transport and train drivers performance.
