Opis:
Telecollaboration seems to be a present emerging practice in education. In this sense, telecollaboration is wide and covers several areas of work and study, and it can also concern hybrid ones. This research focuses on developing learners’ digital competence, English language skills for professional purposes, and knowledge on recycling matters through a telecollaborative project work. The framework for this study is based on Spiers and Bartlett’s (2012) model on developing language, content, and digital skills, and it also focuses on the taxonomy of communication acts in professional contexts introduced by Lehman and DuFrene (2013). Students had to work collaboratively in groups of four students, from two different institutions and countries, and create a blog on the topic of recycling matters, analyzing the current problems and offering possible solutions. Students were tested before and after the project in order to measure their progress within the different areas of study. Results showed that this telecollaborative project work was potentially beneficial; the experimental group performed better in all the areas tested after this project. In conclusion, it seems that telecollaboration projects helped develop the target skills in this research following an integrated learning approach.

Opis:
Much research supports the everyday therapeutic and deeper socialneurophysiological influence of singing songs alone and in groups (Austin, 2008; Cozolino, 2013; Sacks, 2007). This study looks at what happens when Japanese students teach short English affirmation songlet-routines to others out of the classroom (clandestine folk music therapy). I investigate 155 student-conducted musical case studies from 7 semester-long classes (18 to 29 students per class) over a 4-year period. The assignments, their in-class training, and their results are introduced, with examples directly from their case studies. Each class published their own booklet of case studies (a class publication, available to readers online for research replication and modeling). Results show that most primary participants enjoyed spreading these positive songlets as they became “well-becoming agents of change” in their own social networks. “Well-becoming” emphasizes an agentive action or activity that creates better well-being in others, an action such as the sharing or teaching of a songlet. The qualitative data reveals a number of types of well-becoming such as social and familial bonding, meaning-making, teaching-rushes, and experiencing embodied cognition. The project also stimulated wider network dissemination of these well-becoming possibilities and pedagogical insights.

Opis:
Many construction projects contain several identical or similar units, such as floors in multistory buildings, houses in housing developments, sections of pipelines or highways. Repetitive processes arise from the subdivision of a generalized construction process into specific activities associated with particular units. In many cases it is possible to perform individual processes (repeated in each units) in alternative ways (modes). Regardless of the construction project procurement system, duration and cost are the key factors determining project’s economic efficiency and fulfillment of the owner’s needs and requirements. Minimizing project duration and cost are the most important criteria for schedule optimization. Processes that repeat from unit to unit are realized by specialized crews. Uninterrupted resource utilization becomes an extremely important issue for scheduling repetitive processes to minimize employment costs. In this paper, the problem of selecting appropriate modes and minimizing the total project cost and with a constraint on project duration is presented with respect to the continuity of the crews’ work. The paper uses the mixed integer linear programming to model this problem and uses a case study to illustrate it.

In the past the gas industry focused its interest and major investments mainly on the early life of the reservoir and on the development and constant maintenance of production. But times change and currently for depleted gas reservoirs defined as reservoirs in an advanced stage of decline, energy and production should be considered as potential additional energy sources. The ideal time to start managing a reservoir is at its discovery, but Romgaz has a new approach regarding project management implemenatation for depleted gas fields. The strategy presumed, a multidisciplinary team of geophysicists, geologists, reservoir engineers, production engineers and economists. These multidisciplinary teams evaluated existing information and build up a plan for new data acquisitions, the data was integrated, processed, interpreted and correlated in a study with following objectives: -Construct 3D geological model to estimate resources. -Use reservoir engineering to estimate remaining reserves and expected ultimate recovery. -Use results of the study to identify new development opportunities on the field and forecast production scenarios. Success for this challenge depended on: -working as a team; -openness, flexibility, communication, and coordination; -persistence.

Many structural engineers claim that work experience plays a distinctive role in how well engineers drive their productivity. Compensation or salary also plays a distinctive role in how well engineers perform, based on the quantity of project worked delivered rather than on the time spent on the job, and is particularly beneficial for increasing engineer productivity. The main purpose of this study is to determine the influence of structural engineers' compensation, work experience and project worked on career success. This study also aims to (i) determine the type and number of work experience that a structural engineer has; (ii) ability to have knowledge on the structural project worked by a structural engineer; (iii) identify the type of workplace responsibility on the structural project (iv) understand the scope and the construction technology applies on the structural project; (v) determine the different type of projects worked by a structural engineer by groupings; (vi) establish a relationship between structural worked and compensation from work experience on career success of a structural engineer. The findings of the study revealed that structural engineers' work experiences in design management, managing construction, and teaching structural design are significantly influenced by structural engineer's compensation whereas, structural engineer's compensation does not have significant influence on structural engineers' structural project worked.

Opis:
It has become almost impossible to have engineering and construction projects completed within the initial time and cost; this is a result of many factors the industry is being plagued with ranging from estimating time and cost. This paper presents strategic methodology that fosters effective engineering and construction projects management with respect to duration/time - cost. The project success is a two-faced phenomenon. On the one hand, project success can be approached from a triangular point of view of project objectives. Performance, cost, time, quality, and safety of a given particular project should be in accordance with the strategic objectives of work logics and methodology at the workflow organization. The main objective of this research is to develop methodology that will help company or individual construction practitioners achieve profitable objectives in the execution of construction projects. For this reason, use of multiple methods of work organization and their competitive model involving several considerations of a wide range of factors, (besides profit maximization and competition) that affect the margin-size decision; use of qualitative and subjective appropriate work organization, to more realistically capture the decision-making process were suggested. The defined optimum construction project works duration should be made in view of all major influential factors as pointed out in this paper (determinate and indeterminate) resulting into deviation of the estimated time and budget cost. At the consideration of the factors the most likely project duration time and it corresponding cost should be regulated (controlled) and some part of the estimates should be saved in form of insurance, and consequently profitable project would be achieved despite the influences of all factors affecting the project.

Purpose: The aim of the article is to identify the advantages and disadvantages of remote work in six areas of project management depending on the frequency of remote work. The study is of theoretical and empirical nature. The theoretical part presents the factors influencing remote work during the COVID-19 pandemic. Its empirical part presents the employees’ opinions on the impact of working remotely (online) during the COVID-19 pandemic on working in project teams. Methodology: Literature review and critical analysis of web research. A study was conducted on a group of 82 respondents working remotely on projects, members of the Project Management Institute Poland Chapter (PMI PC). Six areas of project management were analysed, including: working time, communication, labour costs, work environment, risk of computer malfunction and conditions for teamwork. The data obtained through questionnaire surveys was analysed using a statistical package. Factor analysis was used for statistical analyses. To extract the factors, the principal components method was adopted, and the VARIMAX procedure was used as the rotation method. A descriptive statistical analysis was performed. Findings: Project team employees discover a number of positive and negative effects of working remotely. The positive ones include: the possibility of adapting work to private life, greater punctuality of performed tasks, saving time and money as it is not necessary to travel to work, increased satisfaction with the effects of work and a sense of security against contracting the virus due to the lack of contact with other employees. The negative ones include: limited direct contact with other employees, no traditional conversations over coffee for discussions and conversations with colleagues, limited access to company resources, no financial support from the employer, increased costs of office work at home, susceptibility to cyber-attacks, increased stress due to problems with remote cooperation with other employees and weakening interpersonal relations. Implications: The study provides new evidence on the most salient risks and challenges faced by remote workers in project teams. They demonstrate different factors affecting remote work depending on the frequency it is performed. Originality/Value: The research results fill the research gap and broaden the knowledge about the impact of various factors on the remote work of project team employees during a pandemic. They constitute practical recommendations and are a source of knowledge for managers of various levels and employees working remotely.

Opis:
Ergonomic workplace analysis is a basic element of every ergonomic project. In many cases, however, carried out in a fragmented and unstructured manner it gives an incomplete picture of the assessed work processes. Authors on the basis of their own experience and methodologies contained in EN 16710-2 Ergonomic methods—Part 2: Methodology of work analysis to support design, presented the procedure and the most important elements, the conclusion of which enables reliable ergonomic analysis. The key task in the field of ergonomic analysis is to determine the applicability of the data acquisition apparatus under specific conditions, which can be done by analyzing scientific publications or reports from professional literature. An important element of the report is also evidence that the assessment was carried out by a competent person to whom the Euro-Ergonomist institution can be used, or at least by such a person checked. It should also be ensured that the report contains evidence that a sufficiently large part of the system has been tested. Fragmentary analysis is possible as long as conclusions from it are not extended and areas not covered by it. A very important but often overlooked element of ergonomic analysis is the indication of how the project solved incompatibilities (which are an inherent element of almost every research procedure in the area of production). It allows to determine the validity of the inference based on the collected material, as well as to determine deviations from the applicable standards. The article also presents the method of triangulation as an element of protection against incorrect diagnosis of the method of work implementation.
Ergonomiczna analiza stanowisk pracy jest podstawowym elementem każdego ergonomicznego projektu. W wielu przypadkach jednak przeprowadzana w sposób fragmentaryczny i nieustrukturyzowany, daje niepełny i mylący obraz ocenianych procesów pracy.

This article describes a team organization process when researching market strategies. Individual team members are merged into small groups, according to their responsibilities. The team members perform data processing tasks through a cascade organization, providing solutions to speed up work related to the use of remote computing resources. They also work out how to store results in a suitable way, according to the type of task, and facilitate the publication of a large amount of results.

Opis:
The paper presents methods of determining the location of cost buffers and corresponding contingency costs in the CPM schedule based on its work breakdown structure. Application of correctly located cost buffers with appropriately established reserve costs is justified by the common overrunning of scheduled costs in construction projects. Interpolated cost buffers (CB) as separate tasks have been combined with relevant summary tasks by the starttostart (SS) relationship, whereas the time of their execution has been dynamically connected with the time of accomplishment of particular summary tasks using the “paste connection” option. Besides cost buffers linked with the group of tasks assigned to summary tasks, a definition of the cost buffer for the entire project (PCB) has been proposed, i.e. as one initial task of the entire project. Contingency costs corresponding to these buffers, depending on the data that the planner has at his disposal, can be determined using different methods, but always depend on the costs of all tasks protected by each buffer. The paper presents an exemplary schedule for a facility and the method of determining locations and cost for buffers CB and PCB, as well as their influence on the course of the curve illustrating the budgeted cost of work scheduled (BCWS). The proposed solution has been adjusted and presented with consideration of the possibilities created by the scheduling software MS Project, though its general assumptions may be implemented with application of other similar specialist tools.
