Opis:
Pornography is among the phenomena which have not been clearly defined in the subject literature yet. The ambiguity of the phenomenon promoted in contemporary social and cultural reality and its normalization causes that it can be interpreted and evaluated in many different ways. Available research and analyses lack any approach that would describe how pornography affects the development and behavior of youth in different care and upbringing environments. This article aims to discuss the results of the author’s study related to family determinants of youth’s attitudes towards pornography. The author’s intention is to initiate a discussion and a further study of this topic. The study was based on a sample of 127 students. To obtain empirical data, a survey questionnaire created by the author was used. Through this analysis, an attempt was made to find answers to the question if selected variables of a family environment (the type of parental relationship, type of parenting style in a family, a sense of emotional support from parents, values adopted by parents) differentiate a youth’s attitudes towards pornography in cognitive, emotional and behavioral aspects.

The objective scope of the research problem concerns the content and sense of the elements characterising one of the types of child pornography, criminalised under Art. 202 §4b of Poland’s Criminal Code, i.e. simulated child pornography. This offence is understood as producing, disseminating, presenting, storing and possessing pornographic material presenting a generated or processed image of a minor participating in sexual activity. The main goal of the article is the substantive criminal analysis of the act criminalised under Art. 202 §4b of the Code. The scope of the analysis has been elaborated with the following question: To what degree is the legal solution concerned with criminalisation and penalisation of the activities of »production, dissemination, presentation, storage or possession of pornographic material presenting a generated or processed image of a minor participating in sexual activity« usable, and realises the ratio legis intended by the legislator? The issue has been analysed using what is primarily an institutional and legal approach, involving textual, functional and doctrinal interpretations that have been supplemented by the author’s own conclusions and opinions.

The study sought to determine the relationship between social media usage and problem behaviour among secondary school students in Oyo State, Nigeria. 600 secondary school students were randomly selected through multi- stage sampling techniques. The respondents were students from nine public and six private secondary schools in three Senatorial Districts of Oyo State, Nigeria. Data for this research was collected using two instruments “Social Media Usage Questionnaire“ and “Problem Behaviours Scale”. Four research questions were raised and answered to guide the study. For the data analysis, percentages were used to analyse demographic information while Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation (PPMC) and Multiple Regression Analysis were used to determine relationship, joint and relative contribution of each variables. The results obtained indicated that six of the nine observed variables (social media) had significant positive relationship with problem behaviours. Three of the social media variables had no significant relationship with problem behaviours. ‘Youtube’ was the most potent of all the observed social media predicting problem behaviours among adolescents. It was recommended that the school administrators should curb excessive usage of social media and that parents should monitor their wards and children when using social media.

The process of advancement of artificial intelligence (hereinafter: AI) seen in recent years results in breakthroughs in many areas of human life, such as medicine, agriculture, and science. However, despite its many advantages and benefits, it also inevitably creates room for abuse. This is particularly true of child pornography, where AI systems are increasingly being used to generate nude images of minors – both existing in reality and fictional. These cases, given much attention in the public debate, cause doubts as to whether existing normative solutions are suitable to combat this new phenomenon. The article aims to answer the question of whether the existing law makes it possible to successfully prosecute perpetrators who use AI systems to generate child pornography (including that depicting fictional characters). In addition, it also offers an analysis of the criminal liability of the developers of the AI systems used in this process and of the hosting providers managing the websites used to distribute such pornographic content.

Exploitation films are one of the main trends of the Serbian cinema of the beginning of the 21st century, when Serbia enters the second phase of systemic transformation, striving to neutralize the effects of the crisis in the first phase of transformation – towards the end of the 20th century – due to the authoritarian policy of Slobodan Milošević and Yugoslav wars. This non-film context allows better understanding of the phenomenon of these films, which in many respects are a continuation of the cinema of self-balkanization cultivated in the 1990s, and at the same time differ from it, because they do not offer a compromise with difficult transformational reality, but express the need to release the social trauma born of experience of political violence in the Milošević era.

Opis:
In her fifth dystopian novel, The Heart Goes Last, Margaret Atwood portrays North America in the not so far future, in the wake of a global economic crisis. Parts of the country are in the state of complete chaos, subjected to a ruthless gang rule. The solution to the system's breakdown comes in the form of the socio-economic experiment that requires from its participants relinquishing their freedom as every other month they will spend in prison. The seemingly preposterous experimental project enables Atwood to explore principal questions about the limits of our freedom in the times of an economic crisis or a neoliberal model of economy. The satirical form the novel takes, especially towards its end, helps the writer to decry people's over-willingness to give away their freedom and civil liberties in exchange for happy, uninterrupted consumption. The following article aims to demonstrate that the notion of freedom and free will permeate The Heart Goes Last, which is, in that respect, a politically and socially engaged satire.

The advent of social media and their platforms has accelerated the processes of diversion to experience and hyperconsumerism. The hyperconsumerist culture has penetrated all areas of our lives in a natural, sophisticated and inconspicuous way. This study focuses on select links between hyperconsumerism and social media, as well as on the rituals of consumption, their specific manifestations, forms and functions. We use OnlyFans, a social network with erotic and pornographic content, as a pars pro toto example of the above principles of consumption rituals. Its immense popularity testifies to the relativization of values, norms and taboos, detabooization – or an outright non-tabooization – of intimacy and consolidation of the cult of pleasure. Furthermore, we will conceptualize the invasion of digital media and the Internet, which accelerated both the expansion of pornography and its secularization and deprofessionalization, and an even greater ubiquity and accessibility to all age categories. We reflect on the effects of these changes on the digital natives, the so-called generation Z, and the nascent generation Alpha.

In every age we can find a different attitude of man towards the end of life, instanced in varied stances and imaginations regarding death. In postmodernism, which makes a broader context for this work, it is impossible to present one unified image of death, because the attitude of contemporary men towards death and the visual forms of it are greatly varied. The subject of my analysis is a presentation of death shown in three occurrences the crisis, the pornography and the renaissance of death which combine to form the postmodern thanatic triad.

Opis:
The article examines the relations between photography, body, nudity, and sexuality. It presents changing relations of photography with a naked or semi-naked body and different forms and recording conventions. From the mid-19th century the naked body became the subject of scientifically grounded photographic explorations, an allegorical motif referring to painting traditions, an object of interest and excitement for the newly-developed “touristic” perspective. These three main ways in which photographs depicting nudity were being taken at that time shaped three visual modes: artistic-documentary, ethnographic-travelling, and scientific-medical. It has deep cultural consequences, including those in the ways of shaping the notions of the corporeal and the sexual. Collaterally, one more, probably prevalent in numbers, kind of photographical images arose: pornographic. In the middle of the 19th century, the repertoire of pornographic pictures was already very wide, and soon it become one of the photographic pillars of visual imagination of the modern society, appealing to private and professional use of photography, popular culture, advertisement, art. The number of erotic and pornographic pictures rose hand over fist with the development of digital photography. Access to pornographic data is easy, fast, and cheap, thanks to the Internet, as it never was before. Photography has fuelled pornography, laying foundations for a massive and lucrative business, employing a huge group of professional sex workers. How all those processes affected our imagination and real practices, what does the staggering number of erotic photography denote? One possible answer comes from Michel Foucault who suggests that our civilization does not have any ars erotica, but only scientia sexualis. Creating sexual discourse became an obsession of our civilization, and its main pleasure is the pleasure of analysis and a constant production of truth about sex. Maybe today the main pleasure is about watching technically registered images, and perhaps that is why we may consider visual redefinition of the body as the main social effect of the invention of the photography.

An offence involving in the use of indecent words in a public place is one of the acts classified in Chapter XVI Misdemeanour Code that violates public decency. Its subject matter consists in placing an obscene announcement, inscription or drawing or using obscene words in a public place. Both the notion of public morality and the sign of indecency are indeterminate in nature. Similarly, the concept of an “obscene word” is not very precise. Both public morality and obscenity are highly relative, perceived differently by different social groups and considered more or less acceptable depending on the age of the audience. The pursuit of offences involving the use of indecent words cannot, however, be selective. One should distinguish between the use of vulgar words as an insult and a specific “interlude”.

Opis:
The exploration of human sexuality at the end of the nineteenth century did not immediately stimulate the development of research in literary eroticism. Its development is associated not so much with the discoveries made by anthropologists as with the influence of the Nietzsche’s philosophy and Freud’s psychoanalysis. The theory of Dionysian culture with its concept of libido (which in times of the supremacy of high culture remains hidden in the language of literature) contributed to the first wave of erotic criticism. Decades later, its development was related to feminist criticism, followed by gender studies and homoerotic studies. What seems interesting in this context is the lack of reflection on the role of the audiovisual pornographic imagination in most contemporary literature. While porn studies is present in sociology, anthropology, and film studies, it is still absent from literary studies. The article presents the mutual influence of literature and pornographic cinema, showing the limitation of the traditional tools used in literary studies in the analysis of contemporary literary descriptions of sexual acts. It examines the reason for the lack of research on this topic, paying attention to the ethical and aesthetic consequences of changing this situation. Finally, it outlines the areas of interest that porn studies could help explore.

The paper deals with a detailed analysis of the characteristics of emotional discourse, organized in a literary text, specifically in the novel Gullo Gullo by Miodrag Bulatovic. Since expressing of emotions can be verbal and non-verbal, both codes relating the organization of emotional discourse have been activated. In the analysis of literary coded emotional discourse the author had to consider two-instance system of art. The fiction as a basic distinctive feature of a literary text has a crucial influence on the emotional semiosis resulting in producing emotional meaning. That process has always been influenced by various features of poetic language and its combinatorics, which are significantly different from encoding in real chronotope expressed in native language forms, governed by quite different rules of expressing emotions and transferred by the people and not the literary structure. Since the fact that disorders of phatic function of a language, communication and culture, are defined as major agents of the process in question their accepted values novels written by Miodrag Bulatovic, the author points out the importance of carnival, grotesque, pornography and satire which have been used as the main degradation processes of the canonized cultural and communication patterns in the novel, whose destructive operation inevitably affects the emotional discourse.
