Przedsiębiorczość oraz przedsiębiorcze uniwersytety to nowe możliwości, które powinny być z sobą powiązane. Głównym celem artykułu jest przedstawienie idei przedsiębiorczego uniwersytetu, jednocześnie prezentuje on rozwój historyczny kształcenia na odległość oraz dokonuje przeglądu dotychczasowych i nowych form kształcenia, które mogą wspierać rozwój uczelni przedsiębiorczych w XXI wieku. W artykule omówiono pięć kategorii, które są „sercem” działalności innowacyjnej i przedsiębiorczej na uczelniach amerykańskich, w tym: przedsiębiorczość studentów, wykładowców przedsiębiorczości, transfer technologii, współpracę w zakresie przemysłu i zaangażowanie w rozwój gospodarczy regionów. Te pięć kategorii odzwierciedla ogromne znaczenie innowacji i przedsiębiorczości w misji i działalności szkolnictwa wyższego.
Entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial universities are new opportunities that need to be leveraged and interconnected. The main purpose of the article is to elaborate upon the idea of entrepreneurial university. This article shortly describes the historical development of open and distance learning and reviewing the past and potential future role of developing new forms of learning that might support the development of entrepreneurial university in the twenty-first century. The article discusses five focus categories at the heart of the innovation and entrepreneurship activities within America’s universities: student entrepreneurship, faculty entrepreneurship, technology transfer, industry collaboration, and engagement in regional economic development. These five categories reflect the widespread importance of innovation and entrepreneurship to the mission and activities of higher education.

Motivation and social aspects as interaction among teachers and students are essential for a successful learning process in an Open Distance Learning environment, and the goal of this paper is to develop an interactive model to manage motivation between the participants of that process. The article contains the concept of developing a motivation model aimed at supporting activity and cooperation of both the students and the teacher. The structure of the motivation model and formal assumptions are presented. The proposed model constitutes a theoretical formalization of a new situation in which a teacher and the students are obligated to elaborate on a didactic material repository content in accordance with the competence requirements. A mathematical method based on game theory and simulation is suggested. The conditions for applying simulation to the model are analyzed in two simulated cases.

Opis:
This paper presents an overview of the latest developments in electronic learning and teaching methods and tools brought about by digital transformations aimed at making education more efficient and effective. A set of general and specific research methods was used to conduct the study, in particular bibliographical and descriptive, chronological, specification, analysis, systematisation and classification, observation, survey and expert interviews, abstraction, analogy and comparison, comparative, modelling, forecasting and argumentation, and logical generalisation. The authors describe their approach to structural organisation of the novel e-learning ecosystem and single out its key components, including technology, learning contexts, and learning outcomes, as well as a set of secondary external factors that determine the quality and effectiveness of education when digitalised. This paper explores characteristics and features of e-learning such as customisation, autonomy, and interactivity with a focus on micro-learning, and presents the findings of an analysis of the most popular open educational resources (OERs), massive open online courses (MOOCs), and online learning platforms, highlighting their major advantages and disadvantages.

This article reports on the development and validation of a tool for characterizing the pedagogical approaches taken in MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses). The Assessing MOOC Pedagogies (AMP) tool characterizes MOOC pedagogical approaches on ten dimensions. Preliminary testing on 17 different MOOCs demonstrated >80% inter-reliability and the facility of the measure to distinguish differing pedagogical patterns. The patterns distinguished crossed content areas and seemed to be related to what Sfard1 termed metaphors for learning - acquisition vs. participation.

This article is focused on distance learning in higher education. It analyses and compares the development of distance learning and conditions of distance learning in different countries. It describes significant differences in the development of distance education in higher education in individual countries. We meet with various forms of implementation of distance education. The divergence in approaches towards distance education in different countries is caus ed by different cultural aspects, the tradition of distance learning, the development of information and communication technologies, and different legislative norms in the area of education. There are many types of organisational models for distance education. A particular model might be dominant in one country, while in another country there may exist a variety of different organisational models for distance education.

This paper extends the growth model for a closed national economy by Zhang (2015) to a small-open economy. We attempt to explain some economic mechanisms of how the richest one per cent of the population own 50% of national wealth. We consider endogenous wealth and human capital accumulation by heterogeneous households with different preferences and learning abilities as the main determinants of growth and inequality. We describe the production technologies and economic structure on the basis of the Uzawa two-sector model. By applying Zhang’s concept of disposable income and approach to household behavior, we describe consumers’ wealth accumulation and consumption behavior. We model human capital accumulation on the basis of Arrow’s learning by doing and Zhang’s creativity with leisure. We simulate the model with three groups of the population, the rich 1 %, the middle 69%, and the poor 20%. We demonstrate the existence of an equilibrium point at which the rich 1% own more than half of the national wealth and the poor 20% less than 10% of the national wealth. We show how the system moves to the equilibrium from an initial state and confirm that the equilibrium point is stable. We also conduct comparative dynamic analysis.

Opis:
The Mathews stability graph method was presented for the first time in 1980. This method was developed to assess the stability of open stopes in different underground conditions, and it has an impact on evaluating the safety of underground excavations. With the development of technology and growing experience in applying computer sciences in various research disciplines, mining engineering could significantly benefit by using Machine Learning. Applying those ML algorithms to predict the stability of open stopes in underground excavations is a new approach that could replace the original graph method and should be investigated. In this research, a Potvin database that consisted of 176 historical case studies was passed to the two most popular Machine Learning algorithms: Logistic Regression and Random Forest, to compare their predicting capabilities. The results obtained showed that those algorithms can indicate the stability of underground openings, especially Random Forest, which, in examined data, performed slightly better than Logistic Regression.

The article aims to discuss current research trends in the field of Distance Learning (DL). It consists of the following parts: (1) the definitions and characteristics of DL; (2) current directions of research in the field of DL, among others: measuring transactional distance in Web-Based Learning Environments, Problem-Based Learning (PBL) in DL, development of learning content and the task for MOOCs, effects of online course efficiency perceptions on Student Evaluation of Teaching (SET) measures, new technologies for the DL, the use of metacognitive and affective model Self-Regulated Learning (MASRL), questionnaire (Constructivist Learning on a Scale Higher Settings of Education [CLHES]) as a method of research of constructivist learning environment in higher education, Transactional Distance (TD) theory in DL and online community culture; (3) summary and conclusions with a particular focus on the use of DL methods in higher education. The article is based on the study of literature registered in the databases ERIC, LISA, and LISTA.
Celem artykułu jest omówienie aktualnych trendów i badań w dziedzinie kształcenia na odległość (DL). Artykuł składa się z następujących części: (1) definicje i cechy DL; (2) współczesne kierunki badań w dziedzinie DL, w tym między innymi: mierzenie odległości transakcyjnej w internetowych środowiskach nauczania, uczenie się oparte na problemach (PBL) w DL, opracowywanie treści edukacyjnych i zadania dla MOOC, efekty wydajności kursów online, postrzeganie miar oceny nauczania przez uczniów (SET), nowe technologie dla DL, stosowanie metapoznawczego i afektywnego modelu samoregulowanego uczenia się (MASRL), kwestionariusz konstruktywistycznego uczenia się (CLHES) jako metoda badań konstruktywistycznego środowiska uczenia się w szkolnictwie wyższym, teoria odległości transakcyjnej (TD) w kulturze DL społeczności internetowej; (3) podsumowanie i wnioski ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem zastosowania metod DL w szkolnictwie wyższym. Metoda badawcza: badanie literatury zarejestrowanej w bazach danych ERIC, LISA, LISTA.

The article examines the possible forms of self-management of the teacher professional growth of the management departments in the universities of the Republic of Poland. The following forms of enhancement of the teacher professional level are analyzed as courses, studies, trainings and portfolio. Distance and open education are characterized as alternative forms of self-management of the teacher professional growth in Polish universities. It was established that teachers of management departments use information systems LMS, LCMS; digital platforms Moodle, ELIAS and USOS in the system of higher education of the Republic of Poland. The types of e-learning are described, its possibilities and influence on the teacher professional growth are characterized within the management departments in the Polish universities. The questionnaires and interviews data are analysed for teachers of management departments in the universities of the Republic of Poland, in which the ways and forms are indicated for self-management of professional growth preferred by the teachers of the management departments of Polish universities. The role of digital technologies is analysed as an integral part in self-management of teacher professional growth in the modern conditions of globalization and European integration of Polish society.
W artykule rozważono możliwe formy samorozwoju nauczycieli katedr zarządzania uniwersytetów Polski. Przeanalizowano następujące formy podwyższenia kwalifikacji nauczycieli akademickich z wykorzystaniem technologii cyfrowych: kursy, szkolenia, seminaria, treningi, kształcenie podyplomowe. Została scharakteryzowana edukacja na odległość i edukacja otwarta jako alternatywne formy wsparcia procesu samozarządzania rozwojem zawodowym nauczycieli akademickich uczelni polskich. Ustalono, że w systemie szkolnictwa wyższego w Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej nauczyciele katedr zarządzania najczęściej korzystają z systemów informatycznych LMS, LCMS; platform cyfrowych Moodle, ELIAS i USOS. Scharakteryzowano rodzaje e-learningu, opisano jego możliwości i wpływ na rozwój zawodowy nauczycieli katedr zarządzania uczelni polskich. Przeanalizowano dane kwestionariuszy i wywiadów wspomnianych nauczycieli akademickich, podano wskazane przez osoby ankietowane sposoby i formy samorozwoju zawodowego, preferowane przez nich. Przeanalizowano rolę technologii cyfrowych jako integralnej części samodoskonalenia się nauczycieli w nowoczesnych warunkach globalizacji i integracji europejskiej polskiego społeczeństwa.

The issue of blast-induced ground vibration poses a significant environmental challenge in open-pit mines, necessitating precise prediction and control measures. While artificial intelligence and machine learning models hold promise in addressing this concern, their accuracy remains a notable issue due to constrained input variables, dataset size, and potential environmental impact. To mitigate these challenges, data enrichment emerges as a potential solution to enhance the efficacy of machine learning models, not only in blast-induced ground vibration prediction but also across various domains within the mining industry. This study explores the viability of utilizing machine learning for data enrichment, with the objective of generating an augmented dataset that offers enhanced insights based on existing data points for the prediction of blast-induced ground vibration. Leveraging the support vector machine (SVM), we uncover intrinsic relationships among input variables and subsequently integrate them as supplementary inputs. The enriched dataset is then harnessed to construct multiple machine learning models, including k-nearest neighbors (KNN), classification and regression trees (CART), and random forest (RF), all designed to predict blast-induced ground vibration. Comparative analysis between the enriched models and their original counterparts, established on the initial dataset, provides a foundation for extracting insights into optimizing the performance of machine learning models not only in the context of predicting blast-induced ground vibration but also in addressing broader challenges within the mining industry.

Short review of methodological experiences in education of knowledge-based society for common action with experts for promotion sustainable development is based on over 20 years activity in this field of the AGH Open University and the Open Seminars on Sustainable Development and ca. 40 years of informal, problem-solving education in linkage with interdisciplinary case studies. Further this model will be sustainable in terms of clean technology used, for the benefit of the human environment and better quality of life. The concept is related to long-term international cooperation of the Polish author (e.g. from 1983 with Indian scientists) on human ecology, medical elementology, ecotoxicology and biotechnology as well as future requirements of the National Open University in India.
Artykuł stanowi próbę oceny możliwości zastosowania mechanizmów edukacji na odległość w celu skutecznej promocji zrównoważonych działań w dziedzinach środowiska człowieka, zdrowia i oszczędnej gospodarki zasobami przyrody. Zwięzły przegląd doświadczeń metodycznych w zakresie edukacji społeczeństwa opartego na wiedzy nawiązuje do ponad 20-letniej działalności w tym zakresie Uniwersytetu Otwartego AGH oraz Otwartego Seminarium nt. Zrównoważonego Rozwoju, a także do 40-letniej nieformalnej edukacji ukierunkowanej na rozwiązywanie problemów w powiązaniu z badaniami interdyscyplinarnymi. Model ten służy zrównoważonemu rozwojowi, ponieważ promuje technologie proekologiczne pożyteczne dla środowiska człowieka i wpływające na poprawę jakości życia. Nawiązuje on też do wieloletniej międzynarodowej współpracy polskiego współautora (m.in. od 1983 r. z indyjskimi naukowcami) w zakresie ekologii człowieka, elementologii medycznej, ekotoksykologii i biotechnologii oraz potrzeb rozwojowych Narodowego Uniwersytetu Otwartego w Indiach.
