This article presents the performance analysis of a cross-platform mobile application implemented with Xamarin and two native applications for Android and iOS platforms. The results concerning the time analysis for selected activities were compared in order to determine whether cross-platform tools are worth using in mobile application development. Native applications achieved better performance, however in some cases the cross-platform approach allows for significant development time reduction without deterioration in user experience.

Opis:
Fuel cells (FCs) are electrochemical devices, which produce electricity (and sometimes heat) without any intermediate step. These units are known for their high total and electrical efficiency, low emission levels, silent operations and scalability. There are several types of fuel cells, which operate at different temperatures, require different fuels and levels of servicing. Some of FC types can be also used for mobile applications - e.g. Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV). Auxiliary Power Units (APU) or main power source is for FC vehicles. Recently, there has been a growing interest in research on mobile applications of fuel cells, both for civilian and military purposes. Several commercial companies focusing on fuel cells have been established, performing their R&D activities in their niches. In addition, there are special dedicated research funds for fuel cell and hydrogen research in countries such as USA, China, Japan, France and Germany. Moreover, the European Commission devotes funds for the fuel cell activities through a public-private partnership. This trend is predicted to continue in coming years, as fuel cells become smaller, easier and cheaper to operate and manufacture. This paper focuses on the current "state of the art" in fuel cell research, both commercial and governmental/military. In addition, some examples of mobile applications, focusing on fuel cell vehicles, spacecrafts and UAVs are presented, together with a predicted outcome for following years.

Maintenance of aircraft is a complex process and therefore, in order to optimize the process, integrated information systems are increasingly used. Rapid development and wide availability of mobile devices equipped with powerful processors and with a wide range of modern communication connections suggests their high usability for enterprise IT systems. In the Department of Avionics and Air Armament of the Military University of Technology (WAT) an ERP-class (Enterprise Resource Planning) system, intended to support aircraft maintenance [4] has been designed and developed. The main concept of the system is to store the aircraft related and maintenance information in a central repository, i.e. in databases hosted on a central database server. This solution ensures concurrent availability of the data to a large group of authorized users. The key components of the system include the database server and client applications, which ensure access to centralized information resources, according to assigned user rights. The project involves development of client applications using three technologies: web, desktop and mobile one. Developed client applications have successfully passed integration tests performed using sample maintenance data. Currently works on user authorization security and wireless data security are under way.
W Zakładzie Awioniki i Uzbrojenia Lotniczego WAT zaprojektowano i rozpoczęto budowę systemu klasy ERP (ang. enterprise resource planning) przeznaczonego do wspomagania procesu eksploatacji statków powietrznych [4].

In 2008, the Japanese government enacted a new healthcare law that requires companies to reduce the weight of overweight employees suffering from so-called metabolic syndrome, and the weight of their spouses. In 2013, companies that fail to reduce the weight of their employees and their spouses will be penalized. So, companies aim to introduce tools to support to loose weight. At first, we developed the first version of mobile application, named HIPPO (Healthcare Information Platform Project), to support to loose weight in 2007. This application worked well during two months and 76% of users whose BMI was 25 or over lost their weight. However, this problem was that many users could not continue to use this application and users who could continued to use this application could loose weight. We thought that to develop application that made user continue to use was important. So, in 2008, redesigned the system architecture and application from three view points, (1) Address real user needs, (2) Rethink and streamline the data-entry model for food and exercise, (3) Make the user experience personal and engaging. We designed one simple application with limited functions and use email as a support tool. As the result, 84% of uses could continue to use the second generation application.

This article provides an optimized solution to the problem of passive shielding against static magnetic fields with any number of spherical shells. It is known, that the shielding factor of a layered structure increases in contrast to a single shell with the same overall thickness. For the reduction of weight and cost by given material parameters and available space the best system for the layer positions has to be found. Because classic magnetically shielded rooms are very heavy, this system will be used to develop a transportable Zero-Gauss-Chamber. To handle this problem, a new way was developed, in which for the first time the solution with regard to shielding and weight was optimized. Therefore, a solution for the most general case of spherical shells was chosen with an adapted boundary condition. This solution was expanded to an arbitrary number of layers and permeabilities. With this analytic solution a differential evolution algorithm is able to find the best partition of the shells. These optimized solutions are verified by numerical solutions made by the Finite Element Method (FEM). After that the solutions of different raw data are determined and investigated.

Opis:
Theoretical background: Human capital is one of the key factors in the development of entrepreneurship, production and services. The goal of each enterprise is to make a profit, the realization of which requires investment. When developing investment projects, it is crucial to choose the most promising ones, at the same time, it is necessary to take into account the existence of “bottlenecks”, and investment activity should be directed to liquidate them. So, the optimal values of the enterprises’ investments in the situation of sufficient and insufficient levels of human capital are found and the factors influencing them are analyzed. The study of the issue of human capital today cannot bypass the question of refugees. As a result of the war in Ukraine, a large wave of migration processes is taking place in Poland, and, therefore, there is a problem and need for adaptation of people fleeing from the war. The social problem that arose due to the large number of refugees in Poland requires a comprehensive solution that would aim not only to help the refugees, but also the Polish economy. The best possible solution to the problem of refugees, both for themselves and for the host countries, is to involve them in an egalitarian society and equal economic life. The study highlights the possibility of using technical capabilities for the development of human capital on the example of a mobile application “Pszukaj” developed by the authors. Purpose of the article: The aim of this paper is to build and analyze optimization models of investments in the field of production of goods and provision of services and in the development of human capitalin the situation of sufficient and insufficient levels of human capital development. The practical research question of this study is to consider the case of the “Pszukaj” mobile application as a communication tool for refugees wishing to function independently in Polish society. Research methods: The role of human capital in the enterprises’ activities will be evaluated based on constructed investment optimization models. The importance of technological opportunities for human capital development will be evaluated based on the case of the “Pszukaj” mobile application. Main findings: This study contributes to the existing research by offering the analysis of constructed investment optimization models in situation of sufficient and insufficient levels of human capital. The dependence of the optimal values of investments in the development of the sphere of production of goods and provision of services and in human capital on both efficiency indicators of investments in the corresponding directions is shown and analyzed. From the practical perspective, the value of technological opportunities for human capital on the example of "Pszukaj" is shown.
