Opis:
The subject of this article is a report from a study on the functioning of children with Down syndrome in a pre-school integration group and the rationality of attending kindergarten. During the research, children with Down syndrome in two groups in a kindergarten in Wrocław were observed. The research started with the thesis that play is the basic form of children’s activity, in which, among others, the social competence of children is shaped. The activity most willingly chosen by children during free play were theatrical forms (role playing, puppet theatres, shadow theatres). The research was conducted for nine months; I was a researcher and educator in this kindergarten.

The objective of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of a program of intervention among coaches and athletes;to evaluate attitudes in favor of fun and fair play in sports and, on the other hand, hard play, gamesmanship, theneed for victory and cheating as attitudes that go against prosocial behaviors. The sample includes football teamswith a total of 636 young athletes (615 boys and 21 girls) with an average age of 12.50 years and an age rangebetween 10-16 years in the juvenile, infant and cadet categories during the season 2016-2017. An adapted versionof the Spanish Questionnaire for Fair Play Proceedings (EAF) was administered at two different times. Theresults show that young athletes value sport positively as fun at two moments of the season. The program wasshown to be effective, although not significantly, in terms of a decrease in the values of gamesmanship, cheatingand victory between the first moment and later moments in the program. Hard play, on the other hand, did notpresent an improvement in the program.

A path-neighborhood graph is a connected graph in which every neighborhood induces a path. In the main results the 3-sun-free path-neighborhood graphs are characterized. The 3-sun is obtained from a 6-cycle by adding three chords between the three pairs of vertices at distance 2. A $ P_k $-graph is a path-neighborhood graph in which every neighborhood is a $ P_k $, where $ P_k $ is the path on $ k $ vertices. The $ P_k $-graphs are characterized for $ k \leq 4 $.

There is an increasing interest in effective methods for building consumer involvement on a mass scale. This paper offers an interdisciplinary theoretical framework for consumer involvement analysis and forwards an anthropological approach to this issue. It uses categories of play and communitas to examine cultural dynamics underlying consumer involvement. It summarizes and extends theoretical understanding of the topic and provides numerous examples from contemporary marketplace such as Heineken Open’er Festival and Volkswagen ‘Fun Theory’ initiative. Several research propositions are formulated for future empirical endeavors and implications for practice are defined.

Opis:
The sociological study of risk-taking behavior is a relatively recent development. Lyng (1990) and others have developed the field of edgework, or the “sociology of risk-taking.” In this study, we examine a group of edgeworkers to understand the role of fun and identity in a group of BMX “freestyle” bicycle riders and conclude that these riders reject rational reasons, in the sense of the term envisioned by Weber, for riding in favor of choosing an activity that they report as fun, which leads to feelings such as self-actualization and fulfillment. Additionally, they are not concerned that others, outside of the subculture, recognize their status as participants, further suggesting that rationality played little into the calculation used to define success by this group.

Introduction: Arno Stern is known for developing his own concept of play-of-painting. The contribution he made to understanding a child’s drawing was influenced by his life experience. Research Aim: The aim of this article is to present Stern’s life achievements and to point to crucial events and significant people that influenced his work and experiment in the field of fine arts. Evidence-based Facts: In Poland, there is a lack of scientific studies on play-of-painting. In a few studies, we find only references to his artistic experiment. Summary: It is advisable to undertake research in Poland on the way of working involving the experimental method of Stern and adapting play-of-painting to support the child’s development.

This article aims to sketch out the Jewish-Polish identity of a prominent Jewish actor and director, Zygmunt Turkow (1896–1970). A summary of the nature of Jewish identity is followed by a study of his memoirs Fragmentn fun mayn lebn [Fragments of My Life] (1951) from the period of 1896–1916. Drawing on Cultural Literacy (Segal 2014), the study focuses on the methods and thoughts of Roland Barthes ([1967] 1985) on urban space. The main section of this paper includes an overview of the places and institutions in Warsaw that Turkow mentioned in his memoirs. All the addresses are ascribed to four social categories (home and friends, religion, education, and freetime) and then discussed. The final section contains research conclusions on Turkow’s selfhood, his sense of Jewish and Polish identity, and his attachment to Jewish or Polish culture, as well as the defining characteristics of his Polish-Jewish/ Jewish-Polish self-identity. This article aims to explain the peculiar circumstances that contribute to the complexity of determining and investigating what can be considered as Jewish identity.

The subject of this article is modern guides for good manners for children, considered in the context of the idea of “great fun” of prof. Jerzy Cieślikowski. This is an attempt to answer a question, wheter these publications, aimed mainly at the implementation of the child-care section, also feature a plaything element? By oscillating between postpedagogy and new didacticism, they satisfy the aesthetic needs of small audiences?

Opis:
The article raises a question of research on children’s literature led in Poland and stemmed from Jerzy Cieślikowski’s conception that refers to the theory of fun acivities by French culture expert Roger Caillois. The authoress considers particularly useful Caillois’s essey entitled Ludzie a gry i zabawy (Le jeux et les hommes, 1958, polish translation 1973), in which he set out the typology of different kinds of jollity and provided polish researchers with a very wide questioning context. She also itroduces Cieślikowski’s concept as well as analyses the akin thoughts. Furthermore, she acquaints the reader with the effect of her own study on literature for children which is based on Caillois’s typology. She comes with her own proposals of archetypal perceptive models derived fromludic functions of literature for children.
