This paper presents a complete solution for automation and grid integration of a small wind turbine with variable speed asynchronous generator. Structure of a system is presented and AC-DC-AC power electronic converter with its auxiliary circuits is discussed in detail. Results of the 10 kW prototype system operation are illustrated.

The paper presents a description of a new DTFC3L3A (direct torque and flux control three levels three areas) control method of induction machine as well as its comparison with the DTC method. The basis for the comparison is the switching frequency of described methods. The proposed method is optimized to reduce number of switchings (which is proportional to switching power losses) in static state, as well as it takes into account the angle which makes it possible to obtain a sinusoidal shape of flux within range of low angular frequencies of an asynchronous machine. The paper includes the results of experiments performed on a three level DC/AC inverter for both control methods.

Opis:
The paper deals with operational modes of HEV vehicle with direct AC/AC transfer and five-phase IM traction motors. Such configuration yields smaller voltage drops compared with the serial AC/DC/AC converter and five-phase machines offer some inherent advantages over their three-phase counterparts. Also, dynamical properties of HEV are better due to the absence of a DC link which has accumulating action. Other advantage includes reduced electromagnetic torque pulsation and also noise characteristics of the five-phase drives are better when compared with the three-phase ones. Possible operational modes enable to provide both the single and/or hybrid operations at driving and braking states.

We prove that compact AC-operators have a representation as a combination of disjoint projections which mirrors that for compact normal operators. We also show that unlike arbitrary AC-operators, compact AC-operators admit a unique splitting into real and imaginary parts, and that these parts must necessarily be compact.

The paper presents steps taken to extend the frequency range of the thermal AC-DC voltage transfer maintained at SUT up to 10 MHz. The properties of the measurement setup are described after replacing the Fluke 5700A calibrator used as AC voltage source up to 1 MHz with the Fluke 6071A RF signal generator. Next the results of the consistency checking of the AC–DC transfer difference measurements performed with the new measurement setup is presented. The results of verification of the correctness of the calculated and measured AC–DC transfer differences of the two calculable thermal AC voltage standards are presented in 1–10 MHz frequency range. The inconsistency of the measured AC–DC transfer difference is below 55 μV/V at 10 MHz, when comparing PMJTCs with SJTC and below 25 μV/V when comparing PMJTCs among themselves. The AC–DC transfer difference of the SUT calculable AC voltage standard was calculated from the modified mathematical model for frequencies up to 10 MHz. Direct comparison of the 3 V calculable AC voltage standard with the 5 V one confirmed correctness of the results obtained from the mathematical model.

This paper deals with a quadrature-booster phase shifter for power flow control and for transient stability improvement in AC transmission systems. The PWM AC bipolar matrix chopper (MC) is proposed for the control of the qudrature voltage component of the original voltage. There are presented in this paper both steady and transient state analyses of a transmission system with passive load based on averaged circuit models. Furthermore, simulation and experimental test results obtained in a three-phase 3 kVA laboratory model are also presented.

The article discusses application of AC/DC/AC converter cooperating with an induction generator in small hydroelectric power plants. The induction generator works with power grid or a separated group of receivers, enabling to generate power even at low speeds of the turbine. In 2014 at the Silesian University of Technology (SUT) two calculable thermal AC voltage standards were developed. AC-DC differences of those standards were calculated from an appropriate mathematical model in 1 kHz – 1 MHz frequency range and determined experimentally in 10 Hz – 1 kHz frequency range. The correctness of determination of the AC-DC differences of the standards were verified by comparing them with a thermal converter calibrated in an external laboratory. That calibration confirmed the correctness of the determined AC-DC transfer differences. Lately, a comparison with a third laboratory has been performed. The paper presents results of these comparisons and a discovered inconsistency between the calculated AC-DC transfer differences of the SUT calculable thermal AC voltage standards and the AC-DC transfer difference of the AC voltage standard from the third laboratory.

This paper presents a method intended for calculation of steady-state processes in AC/AC three-phase converters that are described by nonstationary periodical differential equations. The method is based on the extension of nonstationary differential equations and the use of Galerkin's method. The results of calculations are presented in the form of a double Fourier series. As an example, a three-phase matrix-reactance frequency converter (MRFC) with boost topology is considered and the results of computation are compared with a numerical method.

Opis:
The uncontrolled power flow in the AC power system caused by renewable energy sources (restless sources, distributed energy sources), dynamic loads, etc., is one of many causes of voltage perturbation, along with others, such as switching effects, faults, and adverse weather conditions. This paper presents a three-phase voltage and power flow controller, based on direct PWM AC/AC converters. The proposed solution is intended to protect sensitive loads against voltage fluctuation and problems with power flow control in an AC power system. In comparison to other solutions, such as DVR, UPFC, the presented solution is based on bipolar matrix choppers and operates without a DC energy storage unit or DC link. The proposed solution is able to compensate 50% voltage sags, in the case of three-phase symmetrical voltage perturbation, and single phase voltage interruptions. Additionally, by means of a voltage phase control with a range of 60◦ in each phase, it is possible to control the power flow in an AC power system. The paper presents an operational description, a theoretical analysis based on the averaged state space method and four terminal descriptions, and the experimental test results from a 1 kVA laboratory model operating under active load.

The paper presents a database management system of AC voltage standards maintained in the Laboratory of AC-DC Standards of Institute of Measurement Science, Electronics and Control, Silesian University of Technology, Gliwice, Poland. The database stores the basic metrological parameters and other details of the standards, especially their AC-DC transfer differences at different voltages and frequencies. The database also stores previous (historical) values of the AC-DC transfer differences of the standards which enables the observation of time drift of these parameters.

Opis:
Coaching is one of the tools for the development of trade managers and the discovery of their hidden potential. It is a tool for seeking satisfaction, motivation, and effectiveness. The paper aims to identify the attributes of coaching assessment by trade managers. Its partial aim is to verify a new AC-BEC methodology - the assessment of coaching from the point of view of behaviour, emotions, and cognitions, three factors that were extracted in the research. The given methodology was created for the purpose of extending the range of possibilities for identifying the factors of coaching assessment by trade managers. The results show that managers operating in trade are willing to try new things, they want to develop personally and be more effective and in coaching, it is necessary to monitor and evaluate all attributes individually. It is not possible to look at this process as a whole.
Coaching to jedno z narzędzi rozwoju menedżerów handlowych i odkrywania ich ukrytego potencjału. To narzędzie do poszukiwania satysfakcji, motywacji i skuteczności. Celem artykułu jest identyfikacja atrybutów oceny coachingu przez menedżerów handlowych. Jego częściowym celem jest weryfikacja nowej metodologii AC-BEC - oceny coachingu z punktu widzenia zachowań, emocji i poznania, trzech czynników, które zostały wyodrębnione w badaniach. Podana metodologia została stworzona w celu poszerzenia wachlarza możliwości identyfikacji czynników oceny coachingu przez handlowców. Wyniki pokazują, że menedżerowie działający w handlu chętnie próbują nowych rzeczy, chcą się rozwijać osobiście i być bardziej efektywni, aw coachingu konieczne jest indywidualne monitorowanie i ocena wszystkich atrybutów. Nie można spojrzeć na ten proces jako całość.

The article presents an analysis of the influence on interphase reactor on the operation of 12-pulse AC/DC thyristor converter. Opis:
Power electronic three-level AC-DC converters connecting a utility grid with DC supplies are widely used in renewable energy sources. For such distributed systems, the quality of energy is very important. Hence, control algorithms of an AC-DC converter have to provide not only a sinusoidal shape of grid current, but also stable operation during transient states in the grid, e.g. voltage dips or voltage unbalance. This paper deals with the problem of robustness of AC-DC control methods under disturbed grid voltage. Three modern predictive control algorithms are presented and investigated under grid voltage distortions. Experimental results from a laboratory test setup illustrating properties of the described methods are shown.
