    Opis:
    The values teachers recognise are an important factor in their actions towards a diverse group of learners. Teacher education must systematically develop a conceptual and contextual understanding of inclusive education, and the assessment of teachers’ competencies in this area supports the building of knowledge regarding the direction of their professional development. The results of the research aimed at identifying the beliefs of teachers and students of pedagogical faculties on the values and competencies of teachers that are important in the context of inclusive education. The four core values and areas of competence of an inclusive education teacher are: differences between learners are considered a resource and an asset to education, supporting all learners, working with others, and personal and professional development of teachers. The research results show that in basic teacher education and professional development, attention should be paid to the development of competencies in the concepts of inclusive education and promoting the academic, practical, social and emotional learning of all learners.

    The goal of upbringing is affirmation of the student, self-development within the system of values that is recognized by a group and eventually interiorized. A correctly shaped hierarchy of values, which fulfills a regulatory and motivating role, provides favorable conditions for maturation of a young person, gaining autonomy and at the same time integration with society. In the article the results of the research conducted to identify the system of values of youth with hearing impairments are discussed. The position of responsibility, whose essence consists in regulating one’s free conduct, was identified within the hierarchy of values. Responsibility is an instrumental value that is relatively highly valued by youth (rank 3 for hearing youth and rank 4 for youth with hearing impairment), which is a rewarding fact.

    The results of our own research indicate the heterogeneity of hearing children of deaf parents (koda) in the development of language in context of special educational needs. Koda acquire language and speech in an unusual communication environment. The aim of the research is to analyse the linguistic development of koda in terms of active and passive vocabulary, comprehension and use of grammatical forms, and comprehension of a longer text. The results of children obtained in the normalised Linguistic Development Test were analysed. Koda may have difficulty in mastering speech in its various planes and aspects, develop language competences and skills discordantly.

    Artykuł ma charakter studium pedagogiczno-socjologicznego. Zamierzeniem autorki było ukazanie problemów związanych z codzienną komunikacją językową, jakich doświadczają niesłyszący rodzice wychowujący słyszące dziecko lub dzieci. Podczas badań – w nurcie metodologii badań jakoś-ciowych – przeprowadziłam wywiady narracyjne z członkami pięciu rodzin Głuchych. Niesłyszący rodzice nie zawsze czują się pewnie w kontaktach ze słyszącymi dziećmi, potrzebują niekiedy potwierdzenia, że język migowy jest pełnowartościowym środkiem komunikowania się w rodzinie. Niesłyszący rodzice zdają sobie sprawę z tego, że wychowanie językowe słyszącego dziecka obciążone jest trudnościami dotyczącymi między innymi wyboru języka w codziennej komunikacji. Rodzice mają świadomość tego, że gdy dzieci nie będą migać, wówczas ich wzajemne kontakty będą ograniczone. Rodzice z jednej strony starają się dostosować komunikaty do możliwości percepcyjnych dziecka, mają świadomość tego, że aby dziecko rozwinęło mowę w formie werbalnej, musi mówić, z drugiej zaś naturalny jest wybór języka migowego.
    The article is a pedagogical and sociological study. The author’s intention was to show problems related to everyday language communication experienced by deaf parents bringing up one or more hearing children. During the research – in the field of qualitative research methodology – I conducted narrative interviews with members of five families with deaf parents. They do not always feel confident in contacts with their hearing children and sometimes need confirmation that sign language is a full-fledged means of communication in the family. Deaf parents are aware of the fact that the language education of a hearing child is burdened with difficulties regarding, among others, the choice of language in everyday communication. These parents are aware that if their children do not use sign language, their mutual contacts will be limited and they try to adapt messages to the child’s perceptive capabilities. On the one hand, they are conscious of the fact that for a child to develop verbal speech, they must speak, and on the other, the choice of sign language is natural.

    One of the important elements of the therapy of young hearing-impaired children is rehabilitation camps. They accelerate the process of language and communication skills acquisition. In the current social-legal and financial situation organisers of rehabilitation camps may encounter some difficulties. The aim of the research was an attempt to determine the role of rehabilitation camps by means of a diagnosis of their effectiveness using parents’ and therapists’ opinions and objective results of progress in the development of hearing, communication and language skills in children. The research demonstrated effectiveness of rehabilitation camps in the scope discussed.

    Wstęp. Samokontrola uważana jest obecnie za podstawową metodę stosowaną w profilaktyce oraz terapii otyłości i nadwagi u młodzieży i dorosłych pacjentów. Jej istota polega na bieżącym rejestrowaniu informacji dotyczących rodzaju i ilości spożywanego pokarmu, jego wartości kalorycznej oraz codziennej aktywności fizycznej. Podstawowa rola samokontroli polega na podnoszeniu świadomości pacjenta w odniesieniu do jego zachowań, myśli i emocji wpływających na kontrolę wagi ciała oraz całkowity sukces leczenia. Cel pracy. Celem pracy jest przedstawienie korzyści związanych z zastosowania różnych metod samokontroli w procesie terapii nadwagi i otyłości u młodzieży. Materiał i metoda. Autorzy dokonali systematycznego przeglądu literatury dotyczącej zastosowania samokontroli w przebiegu terapii nadwagi i otyłości ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem młodzieży. Większość prac objętych przeglądem została opublikowana w XXI wieku. Wyniki. Analiza wybranych badań wykazuje, że samokontrola jest uważana za kluczowy element behawioralnej terapii nadwagi i otyłości u młodzieży. Pozytywne wyniki leczenia zależą od takich czynników, jak systematyczność w rejestrowaniu informacji, stosowanie urządzeń technicznych oraz motywacja prezentowana przez pacjenta. Wniosek. Analizowane prace badawcze, pomimo różnorodności zastosowanych metod, dostarczają empirycznych dowodów na obecność istotnego związku pomiędzy samokontrolą a korzystnymi wynikami terapii nadwagi i otyłości u młodzieży. Istnieje potrzeba prowadzenia badań nad rolą czynników psychologicznych w determinowaniu wyników leczenia tego rodzaju zaburzeń.
    Introduction. Self-monitoring is regarded as a key technique of weight management applied in treatment of obesity and overweight both in adults and adolescents. It includes recording behaviours such as types and amount of food consumed, their caloric value, and daily physical activity. Selfmonitoring is used to heighten awareness of behaviours, thoughts and emotions that influence weight control and overall treatment success. Aim. This work is aimed at demonstrating the advantages of self-monitoring techniques regarded as facilitating factor in the treatment of overweight and obesity in adolescents. Material and method. The authors have applied a systematic review of the literature on self-monitoring in behavioural weight control studies. This review included mostly papers published in XXI century and that reported on the association between weight loss and self-monitoring behaviours. Results. The analysis of respective studies indicates that self-monitoring is an important element behavioural treatment of overweight and obesity in adolescents. Positive outcomes of the treatment depend on such factors as adherence to self-monitoring, use of technical devices and motivation presented by the patients. Conclusion. The reviewed literature, despite of a wide range of methods used in particular studies, provides empirical evidences supporting significant association between selfmonitoring and successful outcomes related to weight management in overweight and obese adolescents. Future investigations also should be aimed at the effects of psychological factors on treatment success and the design of cost-effective interventions that serve to maximize the success.

    The paper discusses the procedure of evaluating the need for special education for pupils with hearing impairment based on the provisions of the education law currently in force in the Polish education system. The latest material on the aforementioned subject appeared in the audiological literature, in a publication edited by Antoni Pruszewicz and Andrzej Obrębowski [17]. The aim of the paper is to update the data on the qualification of children with hearing impairment as pupils with disabilities (more generally: with special educational needs) and to define the role of a specialist doctor – audiologist, laryngologist, otolaryngologist – in evaluation for education purposes.
