Opis:
Packing constellations points in higher dimensions, the concept of multidimensional modulation exploits the idea drawn from geometry for searching dense sphere packings in a given dimension, utilising it to minimise the average energy of the underlying constellations. The following work analyses the impact of spherical shaping of the constellations bound instead of the traditional, hyper-cubical bound. Balanced constellation schemes are obtained with the N-dimensional simplex merging algorithm. The performance of constellations of dimensions 2, 4 and 6 is compared to the performance of QAM modulations of equivalent throughputs in the sense of bits transmitted per complex (twodimensional) symbols. The considered constellations give an approximately 0.7 dB to 1 dB gain in terms of BER over a standard QAM modulation.

PHYSICS OF SOLIDS AND MORPHOLOGY OF SURFACES: The morphology of surfaces is now an important field of research because of its direct connection with the industrial activity like manufacturing and optimising of functional criteria through complicated interfacial phenomena. Presently, characterization of the surface morphology, via the profile metrology, is well modelled by a statistical description. The use of shape morphological parameters allows to identify features of the surface structures generated by the process techniques and the emergence of the different phases of the condensed matter. Starting from the solid state background knowledge, prediction of the surface morphology appears as a tedious way. However, progress in the science of the solids formation and industrial requirements promises the best future for the physicists in such a new technological activity. Philosophy and basic formalism of that approach is presented here.

Opis:
The paper presents results of the theoretical and numerical investigation on acoustic radiation of vibrating plate structures submerged in water. The current state of the art on the considered issues is briefly reviewed. Then, the method for determining eigenmode shape functions and eigenfrequencies of plate vibrating in water that has been used in presented study is introduced. The constitutive equations for solid domain and the pressure acoustic equation for liquid domain are coupled via boundary conditions and solved numerically using the finite element method. Structural mode shapes and eigenfrequencies computed for plate submerged in water are compared to analogous results obtained for air and for the in vacuo case. It is assumed, that the plate is rectangle shaped and that it is placed in an infinite rigid baffle. Three-dimensional near- and far-field acoustic radiation characteristics for the plate vibrating in water are introduced. Possibilities of implementation of the active control system for reduction of the hydroacoustic emission are briefly discussed.

Opis:
During the time, the specific characteristics and the efficient life time of oil progressively decrease, due to complex pollution, ultimately making the oil unsuitable for the initial applications. The strategy to regenerate and to valorise waste oils is investigated using improved combinations of sclerometric and topometric tests on ductile nodular cast iron. Tribo-abrasive tests are performed in critical conditions, with base oil, waste oil and regenerated oil, of similar viscosities in order to discriminate their interfacial performances. The forms of the scratch traces indicate wear resistance and tendency to elasto-plastic deformation. The mechanisms of deformation and frictional behaviours were evaluated using optical and Scanning Electron Microscopy and measured for various tribological conditions with tactile and optical profilometry. The Energy Dispersive X ray Spectroscopy completes the chemical superficial distribution of pertinent elements. The surface topography metrology is used to characterize the scratch profiles and to determine the volume of the displaced and removed material, as well as maximum pit height. The originality of this paper is that it is a unique approach specifically devoted to transformer oil concerning tribological conditions.

Opis:
Internal marketing, consisting of employee rewards, recruitment process, internal communication, employee empowerment, and employees training, is still in debates in the previous researches. This research aims to test the five components of internal marketing in the perspective of harmonious culture. The research is different to the previous researches that are oriented to the formal regulations of the company. The research is conducted in two stages. First, qualitatively through a harmonious cultural approach on internal marketing and followed by a quantitative test through multiple regression analysis to find out the relationship to the performance. Respondent target in the research is all hotel managers and it is started with debt interview to see the implementation of harmonious culture. The study result indicates that harmonious culture is not completely implemented in the internal marketing. Recruitment process and internal communication give a significant contribution in the development of hotel performance. Collaboration between culture and employee rewards, recruitment process, internal communication, employee empowerment, and employees training is a new thing in developing the company’s internal strengths to create better performance. Hotel managers, in fulfilling the customer expectations, could use internal marketing that is packed in harmonious culture by emphasizing the harmonious relationship between employees, work place, and the spiritual values or beliefs of the employee.
Etap pierwszy, jakościowy, poprzez harmonijne podejście kulturowe do marketingu wewnętrznego, etap kolejny obejmował test ilościowy, poprzez analizę regresji wielokrotnej, aby znaleźć związek z wydajnością. Zależność między kulturą a wynagradzaniem pracowników, proces rekrutacji, komunikacja wewnętrzna, wzmocnienie pozycji pracowników i szkolenie pracowników to nowy element w rozwijaniu wewnętrznych atutów firmy w celu uzyskania lepszych wyników. Menedżerowie hoteli, spełniając oczekiwania klientów, mogli korzystać z marketingu wewnętrznego, który podkreślaja harmonijny związek między pracownikami, miejscem pracy, a duchowymi wartościami lub przekonaniami pracownika.

Opis:
This paper describes the methodology and results of research on the tribological characteristics of the surfaces of diamond abrasive films using a stereometric analysis. Abrasive films are used in various finishing processes of surfaces with very high smoothness and accuracy. A morphological analysis of surface vertexes in the plane that is parallel to the film surface and the perpendicular direction allowed an assessment of the distances between particles by means of a decomposition of the surface into Voronoi cells. When studying the formation of the aggregates of diamond particles and the spaces between them, one may infer about the machining potential of the abrasive film and determine the recommended kinematic conditions of the film that ensures the maximum use of this potential. Owing to the investigations related to the morphology of diamond abrasive films, one can observe relevant characteristic abrasive aggregates that vary in term of size and shape depending on particle sizes. Units with elongated shapes have a superior machining ability in relation to spherical-shaped units. One of significant parameters proposed that describe the technological potential of abrasive films is the edge length to width ratio of diamond units. Different operating modes are discussed. A statistical analysis of the dynamics observed of abrasive interfaces allowed a pertinent description of the abrasive process taking into consideration nominal and apparent as well as abrasively efficient morphologies.

The publication describes the methodology and results of the studies on stereometric characteristics of the diamond surface of microfinishing films. This methodology is used in different treatments of precise finishing of very high smoothness and accuracy. One presented the results of analysis of vertices’ size in parallel plane to the film surface and towards perpendicular plane to it. Moreover, one performed an assessment of the distance between the grains using surface decomposition on Voronoi cell surface. In order to determine the film surface necessary to perform a particular microfinishing operation, one developed an index which is dependent on the overall profile of the film in the form of an envelope of the sum of vertices’ projections above a certain level. Studying the formation of diamond aggregates of abrasive grains and the spaces between them, one can conclude about the machining potential of microfinishing film and determine a recommended speed of the film displacement ensuring maximum utilization of this potential.

Opis:
The paper describes briefly some main aspects of the active feedback control system that has been developed and constructed for reduction of vibroacoustic emission of vibrating plate structures with arbitrary boundary conditions. Relations between the forms and frequency of the vibrations induced by an external harmonic excitation and the distribution of the generated acoustic pressure field are investigated using the developed numerical model based on indirect variational boundary element method. The aim of the control system is to minimize the sound pressure level in a given point of the ambient space. The system uses small, rectangle-shaped piezoelectric transducers as both sensors and actuators. The transducers are connected in a number of independent feedback loops, and the feedback gains are the control parameters which are optimized using the developed optimal control algorithm. The constructed active system has been tested for the stability and control performance during experimental research performed in an anechoic chamber. Results of experiments are presented in the paper, proving a high level of noise reduction and a good agreement with numerical predictions.

Opis:
In this study, a simple and rapid liquid phase microextraction technique coupled with gas chromatography and fluorineinduced chemiluminescence detection has been developed for determination of volatile organochalcogens (dimethyl sulfide, dimethyl disulfide, dimethyl trisulfide and dimethyl diselenide and dimethyl telluride). The effects of extraction parameters such as extracting solvent and its volume, stirring time extraction time and salt effect were optimized. Also, analytical figures of merit such as response linearity, repeatability and reproducibility, and limits of detection have been evaluated. The proposed method was found to be a simple and rapid analytical procedure for determination of volatile organochalcogens in real aqueous samples with detection limits of 5-620ng·l-1. The relative recoveries of these analytes for spiked bacterial cultures, tap water and lake water ranged from 95 to 105% with the relative standard deviations of 0.3-11.0%.

Nowadays all efforts in planing hull research are focused on resistance reduction for achieving the highest speed in fast planing crafts. Furthermore, many fruitful research projects have been carried out on marine coatings, planning equipment, and optimization of propeller and hull form, which revolutionized industry of high - speed crafts and made them an efficient survival vehicle in coastal areas and rivers. In this paper the hydrodynamic performance of planing hulls are investigated by means of a modified Savitsky model for both non-stepped and stepped bodies. Meanwhile, in order to meet this goal reasonably, effective geometrical parameters of planing hull are investigated and then operational hydrodynamic characteristics of the craft are predicted by using a computational program. Finally, the calculation results are verified by means of a CFD- analysis model.
