With the rapid growth of schemes and initiatives to promote e-mobility and numerous measures taken to ensure its quick and effective implementation, there is a wide range of technological and non-technological problems, especially organisational, economic, legal and social in nature, that have to be handled by national and local governments all over the world. This article addresses some of the technological and organisational challenges for electromobility. The key technology-related issues to be coped with are the need for longer ranges of electric vehicles (EVs), shorter charging times and smart power grids (because of a higher demand for electrical energy). Another important problem to be solved urgently is the high battery weight, affecting the vehicle dynamics. Because of the excessive weight of the battery pack, there is a risk of its displacement during a crash, which may jeopardize the safety on the road. The next big concern, also associated with safety, is protection against electrical and fire hazards in the event of a collision. The most important of all the organisational challenges related to EVs is the necessity to create networks of charging stations. Their insufficient number and unsatisfactory distribution are strong barriers hampering the development of e-mobility. The organisational measures also include privileges such as access to bus lanes, already offered in some countries. Finally, there is the need to urgently train a large number of electricians to test and maintain EVs, the need to create a recycling system for used EV batteries, and the need to deal with the organisational aspects of the development of smart power grids.

This article examines one of the greatest contributions of Józef Tischner to the area of anthropology and charitology by analyzing, in a systematical way, his original thought regarding the relationship between the pagan concept of fate (fatum) and the Christian concept of grace (charis). The originality of this contribution concerns three main areas. The first one concerns the historical-charitological aspect in which Tischner proposes a new approach which helps him to emphasize the personalistic aspect of grace. Instead of considering the problem form a typical intra-Christian perspective, he approaches the concept of grace by confronting it with the historical, pagan concept of impersonal fate. Secondly, he brings to the light an ancient Greek idea of the aesthetic overcoming of the tragic defeat caused by fate, and by showing its insufficiency, he discovers and demonstrates the depth, beauty and hidden ultimate power of the aesthetic dimension of Christian grace. Finally, he argues that the problem of the relationship between fate and grace is not an issue of the ancient past, but constitutes the core of one of the greatest contemporary challenges faced by modern Christian society: the ever growing wave of neopaganism.

Defence diplomacy is increasingly important in modern states’ foreign and security policies. The ever-expanding circle of issues of interest fosters the strengthening of the role and importance of defence diplomacy. Alongside the traditional areas of military cooperation based on dialogue and support, other areas of interaction serving international security are becoming more visible. Each state has a different set of instruments at its disposal, and they try to shape defence diplomacy in their own way, taking into account the specificities of their own national interests and the environments in which they operate. Despite their natural differences, there is a common understanding that defence diplomacy can enhance trust and transparency in international relations. Nevertheless, with all the similarities in states or international security organisations, it is not easy to talk about a universal model of defence diplomacy. The wide range of diplomatic instruments allows each state to select and adapt them to the specific situation and the conditions dictated by geopolitics or geo-economics in the relevant international policy areas.

The European energy sector is under a rapid change in business models due to the energy and digital transformations. The implications of these transformations are emerging platform business models among electric utilities and emerging electricity value chain in the energy sector. The study of platform business models among electric utilities is important, because they integrate the sector’s value chain and determine the transformations of the energy sector. In this paper, the current platform business models managed by electric utilities are analysed empirically and theoretically. The analysis covers 26 European electric utilities. The analysis aims to identify the classes of the platform business models for electric utilities. As a result, 28 digital platforms are identified and grouped into 9 business model classes. This paper examines how the electric utilities have employed novel business models. It provides evidence that, in the face of energy and digital transformations, the electric utilities are the key players in digital platform implementation in Europe.
Europejski sektor energetyczny przechodzi intensywną zmianę modeli biznesu w związku z transformacją energetyczną i cyfrową. Konsekwencjami tych przemian są pojawiające się modele biznesowe platform wśród dużych przedsiębiorstw energetycznych oraz nowy łańcuch wartości w sektorze energetycznym. Badanie modeli biznesowych platform wśród tych przedsiębiorstw jest ważne, ponieważ integrują one łańcuch wartości sektora i determinują transformację sektora energetycznego. W niniejszym artykule przeanalizowano empirycznie i teoretycznie obecne modele biznesu platform zarządzanych przed przedsiębiorstwa wertykalnie zintegrowane w sektorze energetycznym. Analiza obejmuje 26 europejskich przedsiębiorstw. Celem analizy jest identyfikacja klas modeli biznesu platform dla przedsiębiorstw energetycznych. W rezultacie zidentyfikowano 28 platform cyfrowych i pogrupowano je w dziewięć klas modeli biznesowych. W niniejszym artykule przeanalizowano, w jaki sposób przedsiębiorstwa energetyczne zastosowały nowatorskie modele biznesu. Jest to dowód na to, że w obliczu transformacji energetycznej i cyfrowej przedsiębiorstwa energetyczne są kluczowymi graczami we wdrażaniu platform cyfrowych w Europie.

The influx of new data challenge existing divisions and schemes of archeological units such as the so-called “transitional industries” between the Middle and Upper Paleolithic or the Early Upper Paleolithic. An example of such an industry is Szeletian. After almost 70 years since this word was coined, it is still uncertain what characterizes this industry. To resolve these issues, we need to re-assess the inventory of known Szeletian sites. Across the geographical range of the Szeletian, sites from Poland have not been adequately studied. The analysis of available data showed significant heterogeneity among Szeletian sites in Poland, especially in terms of the distinguishing feature – the leaf points. The next issue is the problem of the distinction between Szeletian, Jerzmanowician, Bohunician, and Jankovichian. In the case of Poland, it is even more challenging because of small assemblages, uncertain context, and lack of publications concerning Szeletian sites.

Pożądanym rezultatem komunikacji biblijnej jest aplikacja – proces, w którym słuchacz odnosi do swojego życia prawdę zawartą w słowie Bożym. Wskutek tego celem komunikacji biblijnej jest relewancja – proces odnoszenia prawdy Bożego słowa do słuchacza. W sercu tego równania komunikacji biblijnej znajduje się pytanie o warunki konieczne i wystarczające, które musi spełniać kazanie, aby być uznanym za relewantne biblijnie. Artykuł ten analizuje materię i formę komunikacji biblijnej starając się określić ich relację do świadomości słuchacza (rozumu, uczuć i woli). Stwierdza się w nim, że obiektywna podstawa relewancji biblijnej zawarta jest w treści biblijnej zawsze nakierowanej na wolę słuchacza oraz w formie biblijnej ujmującej treść w pewne ramy na potrzeby rozumu słuchacza. Kazanie jest relewantne biblijnie w takim zakresie, w jakim powyższe relacje występują w procesie komunikacji.
The desired outcome of biblical communication is application – the process of the listener relating his or her life to the truth of God’s word. Consequently, the goal of biblical communication is relevance – the process of relating truth of God’s word to the listener. At the heart of the biblical equation of communication stands the question of the necessary and sufficient conditions which must obtain for a sermon to count as being biblically relevant. The article analyzes the content and form of biblical communication seeking to determine its relationship to the consciousness of the listener (intellect, affection and will). The paper contends for an objective foundation of biblical relevance found in the biblical content always aiming at the will of the listener and the biblical form framing the content for the intellect of the hearer. The sermon is biblically relevant to the extent to which the above relationships obtain in the process of communication.

We obtain a result on the existence of a solution with big graph of functional equations of the form g(x,(x),(f(x)))=0 and we show that it is applicable to some important equations, both linear and nonlinear, including those of Abel, Böttcher and Schröder. The graph of such a solution has some strange properties: it is dense and connected, has full outer measure and is topologically big.

The Polish power industry is characterized by outdated elements and is in poor technical condition. This applies mainly to overhead lines operating at medium and high voltage (MV and HV) levels. Moreover, the Energy Regulatory Office (ERO) requires the Distribution System Operatorsto supply electricity with specified parameters, ensuring uninterrupted electricity supply to end users. Failure to meet these conditions results in specific financial penalties. In connection with the above, there is a strong need to upgrade the existing electricity grids using modern equipment. The article presents an innovative, original research position based on the so-called dismountable vacuum chamber, which allows research to be conductedon improving the performance of modern switching equipment used in Smart Grid networks. The article also presents the resultsof electric strength tests of the inter-contact break inorder to confirm the correctness of operation of the described test stand.
Polska elektroenergetyka cechuje się elementami przestarzałymi oraz w złej kondycji technicznej. Dotyczy to przede wszystkim linii napowietrznych pracujących na poziomie średnich i wysokich napięć (SN i WN). Co więcej, Urząd Regulacji Energetyki (URE) wymaga od Operatorów Systemu Dystrybucyjnego dostarczania energii elektrycznej o określonych parametrach, zapewniających odbiorcom końcowym bezprzerwowe dostawy energii elektrycznej. Niespełnienie tych warunków skutkuje określonymi karami finansowymi. W związku z powyższym istnieje silna potrzeba modernizacji istniejących sieci elektroenergetycznych z wykorzystaniem nowoczesnej aparatury. W artykule przedstawiono innowacyjne, autorskie stanowisko badawcze oparte o tzw. rozbieralną komorę próżniową, które umożliwia przeprowadzenie badań nad poprawą parametrów eksploatacyjnych nowoczesnej aparatury łączeniowej wykorzystywanej w sieciach Smart Grid. Przedstawiono również wyniki badań wytrzymałości elektrycznej przerwy międzystykowej celem potwierdzenia poprawności działania opisanego stanowiska badawczego.

The SARS-CoV-2 virus outbreak came suddenly, devastating the health systems of other countries regardless of the financial condition of individual countries. And although at the end of 2019 it seemed that it would remain a problem in the Far East, the mechanisms related to globalization and human mobility meant that within a few weeks the strength and capabilities of almost the entire globe were exposed to a huge challenge—similar for every country. All of this took place at a time when analysts boldly predicted another financial crisis—at a time of raging economic processes. These, in turn, are closely related to the necessity to incur foreign debts—especially in the case of developing countries. Therefore, it seems reasonable to analyze the current information in this regard, based on the published data and the position of analysts in this problematic area. At the same time, it will be an introduction to further analyses in-depth with comprehensive data for the coming months.
Epidemia wirusa SARS-CoV-2 przyszła nagle, druzgocąc systemy zdrowotne kolejnych państw bez względu na ich kondycję finansową. I choć jeszcze pod koniec 2019 roku wydawało się, że pozostanie ona problemem Dalekiego Wschodu, mechanizmy związane z globalizacją i z ludzką mobilnością sprawiły, że w ciągu kilku tygodni siły i możliwości całego niemal globu zostały wystawione na potężną próbę – podobną dla każdego kraju. Wszystko to miało miejsce w momencie, kiedy coraz śmielej analitycy przepowiadali kolejny kryzys finansowy – czyli w momencie rozszalałych procesów gospodarczych. Te z kolei ściśle wiążą się z koniecznością zaciągania długów zagranicznych – zwłaszcza w przypadku krajów rozwijających się. Zasadne wydaje się więc dokonanie analizy aktualnych informacji w tym zakresie na podstawie publikowanych danych i stanowiska analityków tego obszaru problematycznego. Będzie to jednocześnie wstęp do dalszych analiz, pogłębionych o całościowe dane z kolejnych miesięcy
