Opis:
The level of occupational health and safety is one of the determinants of the company's efficiency. The article assessed the quality of general initial training (general training) and initial training at the workplace (on-the-job training) carried out in selected business entities related to the hard coal mining industry. Problem included in the above trainings were interpreted as a criterion function within a multi-criteria analysis based on the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. Application of the AHP method allowed to perform a diagnostic (comparative) assessment of objects (business entities), both objects and accepted assessment criteria were compared in pairs with each other (the evaluator's preferences (subjectivity of assessments) are treated in the Analytic Hierarchy Process as a natural phenomenon).

Opis:
A significant part of the knowledge used in the production processes is represented with natural language. Yet, the use of that knowledge in computer-assisted decision-making requires the application of appropriate formal and development tools. An interesting possibility is created by the use of an ontology that is understandable both for humans and for the computer. This paper presents a proposal for structuring the information about the foundry processes, based on the definition of ontology adapted to the physical structure of the ongoing technological operations that make up the process of producing castings.

The object of the conducted experimental studies was determination of the physical properties of the BA1044 alloy subjected to several types of toughening and modification under varying conditions. The aim of the experiments was to determine which of the above mentioned technological processes has greater impact on the value of the alloy parameters and how these treatments should be chosen to get the metal with the desired properties on a limited number of experiments.
Przedmiotem prowadzonych badan eksperymentalnych było określenie właściwości fizycznych stopu BA1044 poddanego kilku rodzajom ulepszania cieplnego oraz przy różnych warunkach modyfikacji. Celem eksperymentu było określenie, które ze wspomnianych zabiegów technologicznych posiadają największy wpływ na wartości badanych parametrów metalu oraz w jaki sposób należy dobierać te działania aby uzyskać metal o pożądanych właściwościach przy ograniczonej liczbie eksperymentów.

Opis:
The study presents the results of research aimed at the construction of a model of the relationship between the physical properties of metal and the types of toughening treatment and modifiers used in the modification of BA1044 alloy. Samples of melts were subjected to four variants of the heat treatment and to five types of modification. Studies of the samples consisted in measurements of five physical parameters. Consequently, it was necessary to seek a relationship between the nine input parameters and five output parameters. With this number of the variables and a limited number of samples, searching for the relationships by way of statistical methods was obviously impossible, so it was decided to create an approximate model through the use of fuzzy logic. This study describes the process of creating a model and presents the results of some simulation experiments that confirm the validity of the correct approach.

We report on magnetization and magnetic hysteresis measurements for the (Tl$\text{}_{0.6}$Bi$\text{}_{0.5}$)(Sr$\text{}_{0.9}$Ba$\text{}_{0.1}$)$\text{}_{2}$Ca$\text{}_{2}$Cu$\text{}_{3}$O$\text{}_{y}$ Ag-sheathed superconducting tape as well as for the powdered and bulk (Tl$\text{}_{0.6}$Pb$\text{}_{0.5}$)(Sr$\text{}_{0.9}$Ba$\text{}_{0.1}$)$\text{}_{2}$Ca$\text{}_{2}$Cu$\text{}_{3}$O$\text{}_{y}$ superconductors. For the investigated tape and bulk specimens the low field magnetization showed a deviation from the ideal linear M(H) dependence, which was attributed to the superposition of inter- and intragrain superconducting currents. Fitting of the theoretical magnetization curves to the experimental data allowed for the independent determination of the intragrain critical current densities for the superconducting grains and intergrain critical current densities for the weak link system at 77K.

Opis:
Access to up-to-date information on technology, innovation, source publications, and the materials and services offered in a particular industry is very important for both industrial plants and departmental research centres. It should be noted that obtaining such information using publicly available search engines such as Google, Yahoo!, Bing, Bindu (mainly used in China) is only apparently easy because, due to their versatility, they deliver results with great redundancy. This leads to the need to analyze large data sets by linguistic methods or "manually", which is very tedious and time consuming. In this situation, it was considered reasonable to undertake studies aimed at acquiring relatively simple IT tools, i.e. crawlers, which allow their users to selectively search for information in a particular problem area, which in this particular case is casting. The intention of this work was to collect and analyze the experimental material that would allow describing the characteristics of the above solutions from the point of view of the range of their application, the quality of the results achieved, and possible limitations and preferences taking into account user needs.

Opis:
Decisions regarding appropriate methods for the heat treatment of bronzes affect the final properties obtained in these materials. This study gives an example of the construction of a knowledge base with application of the rough set theory. Using relevant inference mechanisms, knowledge stored in the rule-based database allows the selection of appropriate heat treatment parameters to achieve the required properties of bronze. The paper presents the methodology and the results of exploratory research. It also discloses the methodology used in the creation of a knowledge base.
Decyzje dotyczące odpowiedniej metody obróbki cieplnej brązów mają wpływ na uzyskanie końcowych własności tych materiałów. W pracy przedstawiono przykład budowy bazy wiedzy z zastosowaniem teorii zbiorów przybliżonych. Wiedza zgromadzona w bazie reguł umożliwia za pomocą mechanizmów wnioskowania dobór odpowiednich parametrów obróbki w celu uzyskania pożądanych własności brązu.

The article describes the problem of selection of heat treatment parameters to obtain the required mechanical properties in heat- treated bronzes. A methodology for the construction of a classification model based on rough set theory is presented. A model of this type allows the construction of inference rules also in the case when our knowledge of the existing phenomena is incomplete, and this is situation commonly encountered when new materials enter the market. In the case of new test materials, such as the grade of bronze described in this article, we still lack full knowledge and the choice of heat treatment parameters is based on a fragmentary knowledge resulting from experimental studies. The measurement results can be useful in building of a model, this model, however, cannot be deterministic, but can only approximate the stochastic nature of phenomena. The use of rough set theory allows for efficient inference also in areas that are not yet fully explored.

Opis:
Work was done as a part of the project " New generation haulage system of highly productive longwall systems" aiming to develop and implement a new longwall shearer system called KOMTRACK. The widely used EICOTRACK feed system developed forty years ago is not adapted to modern longwall shearers' power. Within the project, an innovative, flexible feed system with a modular structure was created with the possibility of continuous adjustment to the carbon wall's unevenness. Newly-developed three cast steels variants have been initially selected to fabricate this system's elements. The material's final selection was realized based on the tensile tests, Charpy impact tests, Brinell hardness surveys, and wear resistance measurements. Results analysis allowed to select cast steel marked as "2", which fulfilled all requirements and was used in further casting trials.
