In-wheel electric drives are promising as actuators in active safety systems of electric and hybrid vehicles. This new function requires dedicated control algorithms, making it essential to deliver models that reflect better the wheel-torque control dynamics of electric drives. The timing of digital control events, whose importance is stressed in current research, still lacks an analytical description allowing for modeling its influence on control system dynamics. In this paper, authors investigate and compare approaches to the analog and discrete analytical modeling of torque control loop in digitally controlled electric drive. Five different analytical models of stator current torque component control are compared to judge their accuracy in representing drive control dynamics related to the timing of digital control events. The Bode characteristics and stepresponse characteristics of the analytical models are then compared with those of a reference model for three commonly used cases of motor discrete control schemes. Finally, the applicability of the presented models is discussed.

Opis:
Undisturbed collection of current from a contact wire of the catenary constitutes one of the basic elements in reliable operation of electrified rail transport, particularly when vehicles move at high speed. Quality of current collection is influenced by the construction of catenary and current collectors, as well as by the technical condition and regulation of these two elements. Total contact force of a current collector head on contact line and the condition of contact strip surface determine the quality of the contact between a current collector and contact line. This paper presents an innovative stand for diagnosing contact strips on current collectors with the use of 3D imaging technique. The stand has been tested in laboratory and during trial exploitation on a railway line. Implementation potential of the proposed method has been confirmed.

The technical condition of current collector contact strips is very important when operational reliability of railway transportation is considered. The authors proposed a novel measurement system based on a 3D camera to register the shape and dimensions of the current collector contact strips surface. The system was installed above the railway track for tests in target ambient. During the trial operation a few dozen of contact strips 3D-profiles were recorded for the locomotives which passed the test point. The collected results vary widely, particularly with regard to the position and tilt of the obtained profiles. This variety makes the surface analysis more complex. Therefore, an automatic method for normalization of the registered profiles was introduced. Standardized profiles are compared with the pattern of a new contact strip in order to estimate their wear. Summary of scanning and analysis results confirm the possibility of commercial use of the introduced system.

Opis:
Basic concepts for evaluating rated power of generator sets powered by combustion engines are presented in this article. A relation between parameters of the engine and the generator are shown. Recommendations contained in the standards and technical literature are systematized. The scheme and methodology for evaluating rated power of the generator set, based on laboratory research, are suggested. Also, the main problems which occurred during research have been highlighted. The differences between the values of rated power assumed in theoretical consideration and obtained during laboratory research for the sample unit, have been commented upon.
Przytoczono podstawowe pojęcia związane z określaniem mocy agregatów prądotwórczych napędzanych silnikami spalinowymi. Podano relacje obowiązujące pomiędzy parametrami silnika i prądnicy. Usystematyzowano wskazania zawarte w normach oraz literaturze fachowej. Zaproponowano schemat i metodykę wyznaczania mocy znamionowej agregatu na podstawie badań laboratoryjnych. Zwrócono uwagę na kluczowe problemy praktycznego przeprowadzania badań. Skomentowano różnice w wartościach mocy znamionowej wyznaczonych teoretycznie oraz praktycznie dla przykładowego agregatu.
